"CRAP!" 

I wake up realizing that I overslept from the nap I took, I have to make dinner before Rick gets home. The green neon clock on the oven says 5:45 " Okay, I have at least an hour to make dinner before Rick comes home." As I walk into the kitchen feeling the cold tiles on my bare feet, I open the chilly fridge and pull five ingredients: Healthy Bean Chili ,lime wedge,baby arugula ,lemon juice, plain 2% Greek yogurt. After that I began first I need to reheat Healthy Bean Chili, then garnish with a lime wedge and Greek yogurt( 2 tbsp), after that I finish of with baby arugula tossed with lemon juice. I go into the elegant dining room with a crystal chandelier dangling from the ceiling looking over the mahogany table with chilping on the side wood splint sticks out, a chill went down my spine this from Rick when he bashed my head into the table, he said that I didn't clean the table right. He is right, I need to clean things the right way. I open the wine cabinet and pull out Château Léoville-Las, I felt my mouth smile from ear to ear this is the wine Rick and I had on our wedding and honeymoon form Pairs in 2001, 'happy times' I call it this was before everything went south, Rick was, well is an amazing husband it's my fault that I have children, all Rick wanted to be is a better father than his was. The ' happy times' lasted for 14 years out of our 16 year marriage. After the table is set and its fished off with lighting the white Taper Candle, and start the record play and play One in a Million: The Platters.

I hear the door open, Rick is home. I greet him with a smile and a kiss on his cheek

 " Hi honey how was work today at the office?" 

" Same as yesterday and the day after that nothing new happens now stop pestering me with the same dang on question every single day! Man you're vexatious." He responded angrily " Is dinner ready?" 

" Yes it is I think you'll like it!" I smile, 

" I better" then smile turns into a frown. When we enter the dining room Rick sits down and has a disgusted look on his face. 

" What's wrong Honey-Buns?" 

" What the heck is this?"

 " Oh it's a new recipe it's Bean Chili Salad Bowl."

 " And is there any meat in it?" he askes

 I shake my head " No there isn't any it's supposed to be hea-" I get cut off from a slap I fall to the ground and the sting on my check gets burned from hand and a hot steaming tear, as he grabs me by my hair says aggressively

 " Do, I look like a freaking cow to you?"

" N-n-o"

 " Then why did you give this nasty fake vegan cow food,HUH?"

 " It's not cow food."

 He slaps me again " DON'T YOU TAKE BACK TO ME! Since you're so smart on what cows eat then, what do they eat?" 

" G-g-grass." 

"You know what fine I'll try your stupid food and I better like it!" He lets go of me, then when he sits down he raises one eyebrow then says " This better not be the wine from Paris."

 I don't respond 

" ANSWER ME !"

 I respond sheeply" It is."

 " You know what you must be really testing me today Jenny, because I thought I said I only want to use this for special occasions and our anniversary unless you can tell me right now why you opened it and I know it's not our anniversary so what's is important that you need to open it?"

 " I was thinking that we could maybe, adopt?" 

" ADOPTED? Adopted, ha that's so funny Jenny that you think I want some pathetic nobody kid that's not my own flesh and blood."
