"Tommy, when we get older, wanna get married??"
Bright green eyes meet warm brown ones as he contemplates her words for just a second. He grins as wide as his six year old face can accommodate.
"You sure we can't just do it now?? Mommy already made me dress up. Wanna marry me now Katie??"
Brown curls bouncing around the head of a pretty little five and a half year old girl as she jumps into the arms of her best friend, the boy with the vibrant green eyes. Spinning each other gleefully around in circles as she chants out a boisterous series of yeses.
He rushes headlong into the house, hastily grabbing the new stuffed bunny he got from the Easter Bunny that morning. Two sets of adults give him curious looks as he zooms past in a tizzy.
His mother sets his baby sister down in her pack and play, trying to calmly but firmly address her spirited child.
"Thomas Grant Gustin, slow down!! I thought you were outside playing with Katie."
That causes the small boy to skid to a stop halfway back to the exit, clutching the floppy eared rabbit tightly to his chest as he bounces eagerly from one foot to another.
"Had ta get Mr Bunny. Me and Katie are getting married so he's gonna do it."
Both his and her parents continue to look at him with perplexed expressions until Katie's father gives a small chuckle.
"Fifteen years of friendship Tom and the kids are trying to make us family."
All four adults in the room laugh heartily at that but Tommy's older brother wrinkles up his nose in disgust.
"Don't you know dummy that girls are gross and have cooties??"
The small green eyed boy pouts and sticks his tongue out at his brother before speeding out of the room again.
"Tyler, you have cooties. Katie and I are gonna get married and have babies. And you're just dumb. So there!"
And with that he rushes back outside with his bunny, so that he can marry his bestest friend ever, the little girl with the curly brown hair.
A/N: Trying out this new idea. Don't think it'll be a long story but I read a sad, perfect little imagine on tumblr that gave me the inspiration.
