Morning strikes, the sun rises, the grass sways on the hills of the Emerald Hill Zone as Mighty and Ray stand over Knuckles who's covered with a black tarp at this point. Sonic and Rouge are outside talking to Mighty as they try and help the armedillo find clues as to who murdered Knuckles. Nine and Tails watch from the balcony of Nine's room as the police officers search the nearby area.

"Hey Nine" Tails says.

Nine looks over at him.

"Can I count on your confidentiality" Tails asks, looking at him with serious eyes.

Nine looks back at the tarp covering Knuckles, his gloved hand with his signature two spikes sticking out from underneath.

"Yeah" Nine goes.

The two take eachothers hands as they look down at the crime scene below them. To Tails, Nine had become a little brother to him, a secondary person to protect, to Nine, Tails was someone to look up to, to understand, to mold himself like almost.

"Why don't we get something to eat and head to the workshop" Tails says.

"Sure"

Four days have passed now, Tails is in his room putting on a dark blue silk jacket, a nice white stripe on each shoulder, a new pair of goggles he made for various uses including style of course. Tonight was the night he was gonna ask Sonic out on their first real date and he was determined to impress Sonic and give him a good time while also trying to take his mind off Knuckles' untimely death.

The fox puts on some fancy white gloves, adjusts his unplugs his phone and closes up his diary so he can lock it up and hide it in the drawer on his desk. He looks in the mirror and checks himself before going out and knocking on Sonic's door.

"Sonic! It's me Tails! You there?!" Tails says.

He doesn't hear anything so he knocks on the door again. Yet again he's met with silence so he knocks again, not a sound. Tails presses his ear against the door and doesn't hear anything so he peaks inside and sees Sonic sitting on the bed, sobbing, tissues all over the floor. Tails frowns when he sees Sonic like that, it hurt to see him suffer like this... But at the same time, he doesn't regret doing what he had to do.

"Sonic... A-Are you okay?"

"...Why me"

"What?"

"Why my family Tails!... Why us!" Sonic shouts.

"I don't have the answer to that question Sonic... Let's just hope Mighty and Ray find whoever did it"

"I oughta find this asshole myself and tear him apart" Sonic growls, bawling his fist.

Tails sighs and slowly walks inside, taking a tissue from the tissue box and wiping Sonic's nose and mouth.

"Sonic you've been like this for 4 days... It's not good for you to shut yourself down like this" Tails says, taking another tissue to wipe his face with.

"I've lost two people Tails... Amy and Knuckles, who's next?! Silver?! Sally?! Tangle?!-"

"Sonic I get that you're scared, believe me I've been there but I know this won't keep happening forever. The police will find whoever did it and lock them up without a doubt, for now... Just hold them close, spend what time you can with them, let them know you love them, protect them if you can. Life's short after all, and we only get to do so much"

Tails kisses his cheek, Sonic manages to smile. He sighs, "Thanks Tails... You're the best"

"Anything for you Sonic" Tails responds, embracing him tightly.

Sonic hugs him back, after a few minutes though, Tails pulls him off the bed and to his feet almost throwing Sonic off balance.

"Whoa!" Sonic shouts.

"I know what'll cheer you up! Let's go on a date!" Tails says with a warm smile on his face, tails swishing around excitedly.

Sonic's face turns red, the thought of going on an actual official date with Tails made him wonder if he was dreaming, spending a night out with Tails could actually be the one thing he needed to help him feel better, the one fox that actually managed to set his heart ablaze with the embers of love.

"Let me get ready" Sonic says with a smirk.

A half hour later, Sonic comes out of his room with a pair of swanky sunglasses and a bow tie. Tails moans, seeing a bow tie on his neck was oddly arousing to him, for reasons he himself couldn't really understand. Both their hearts light on fire as they walk out the door.

"So where's the place?" Sonic asks.

"Nightstar City... It's this new place that opened recently, it's where Blaze and Silver had their most recent date. I heard the atmosphere is great" Tails answers.

"Is it me or do we find ourselves in Nightstar City a lot" Sonic says, hands on his hips.

"What can I say... That city has its charm" Tails goes, then he hops into a small ship.

Sonic jumps in, sitting next to him. Tails starts off the ship and flies off toward the city, as they fly Sonic gets a bit mischievous and takes off one of his gloves, running his hand gently on Tails' thigh as he tries to fly it. The fox moans and looks over at Sonic who looks him directly in the eye as if he's trying to tell him something.

"Stop that I'm trying to fly us nearby" Tails says, flustered by Sonic's flirtatious behaviour.

"My bad Tails... I guess my curiosity got the best of me"

Tails grumbles and looks on ahead, flying passed a holographic advertisement for a rocket project. Sonic taps his finger on his chin, still looking at Tails' thighs, the little fox shouts passionately, when he feels Sonic pleasure him yet again and almost loses control of the ship.

"Gah, can you please stop, what you're doing is dangerous!" Tails says, blushing furiously at Sonic.

"You know me Tails, I live dangerously" Sonic says with a smirk and a flex of his eyebrows.

The fox boy, fed up with Sonic's ridiculousness snarls and unbuckles his seatbelt, giving Sonic a menacing glare. Sonic turns his attitude around quickly when he sees how fed up his companion is with his mischief.

"Whoa whoa! I'll stop! Chill!" Sonic screams, panicked that he actually got annoyed that fast.

"Autopilot engage" Tails says, still glaring Sonic down.

Sonic watches as Tails climbs on top of him so he braces, but instead of unleashing a tirade of punches on him. Tails aggressively kisses him, squeezing his waist tightly, Sonic flinches when Tails does this and looks his foxy little lover in his big blue eyes. Tails finally stops kissing Sonic and touches noses with him, giggling like a kid.

"Gotcha" He says.

"Yeah... You got me..." Sonic says, putting his hand back on Tails' thigh.

Tails presses his lips on Sonic's and the two start to kiss eachother up while the ship glides around buildings and zips around corners. The two roll off the co-pilot seat and onto the floor, Sonic laughs in slight pain while Tails longingly kisses and bites his neck. Tails takes off his jacket and throws it away as he continues to kiss Sonic up. Sonic moans while he squeezes and smooches him tenderly.

Tails sits on Sonic's lap, pressing himself down in between Sonic's legs, he moans loudly as Sonic reflexively squeezes Tails tightly. The intense amount of pleasure Sonic is getting from Tails makes his heart warm up like a furnace, he watches the fox's head sling back, evidently the feeling is so good Tails can't handle it either. The blue hedgehog feels as if Tails is draining him with his aggressive, yet dramatic movement bouncing up and down on him like a ball.

Sonic shouts, and suddenly grabs Tails by the behind, Tails yelps and leans back. Sonic not expecting this tries to hold it in, but Tails is tight, the pleasure has him entranced, he's locked eyes with the frisky panting Tails, so he lets go. A satisfied smile appears on Tails' face while he focuses on that warm sticky feeling in there.

"Gah... Fuck. That was too quick..." Sonic groans.

"That was awesome..." Tails says while laughing, his hands gently pressing down on Sonic's chest.

"Are you gonna get off me now?" Sonic asks, still trying to catch his breath.

"I don't know, mmmf, I feel pretty comfy here" Tails says, shimmying himself in-between Sonic's legs.

Sonic squirms and grunts as Tails laughs at him, he bangs his fist in the floor and takes a few deep breaths while the fox boy kisses Sonic's face.

"I'll get off of you on one condition..." Tails teases.

"Ugh... And what's that?" Sonic moans.

"You owe me another round later" Tails says, he presses briefly his lips on Sonic's and strokes his face.

Sonic's face turns redder, he looks away from Tails and mumbles, "Fine... Just get off before I... Ngh"

Tails finally does get off of Sonic, laughing as he stands back up and watches the ship descend into an alleyway. Sonic is back up not to long after, the hedgehog dazed from their funtime earlier. Tails puts his jacket back on, and soon his gloves right after.

Once Sonic is ready, Tails leads him outside of the ship and out of the alley onto the street. The neon city around them just felt more alive at night and that's why Tails loved Nightstar City so much, it was the perfect place to go at night, because it just felt so right.

"Tails, I still feel a bit soar..."

"Oh sorry, you know how you get me feeling though"

Tails slows down a bit and waits for an exhausted Sonic to catch up, when he does he links arms with him and gives him a warm grin as if he didn't just have that brief moment back in the ship. Sonic can't bring himself to be aggravated with Tails though, after all he does love him, and this might was supposed to be about the both of them.

The two finally arrive at their destination, a bar at an intersection not far from Friendship Square Park, smoothe colour changing Neon lights made for a relaxing entrance. Inside everything looks modern and sleek, toned down colours like black and gray adorn the chairs and floors. The warm yet dim lights slowly winding their brains down.

All around them everyone is either enjoying the weekend with a few drinks, eating and chatting with each other or cuddling in a corner, a black cat with hair covering her eyes approaches the two as they stand by the entrance, Sonic still entranced by his new environment.

"Good evening gentlemen, how may I be of help tonight" The cat says, she's holding a tablet and speaking very inquisitorially.

"Hi, we have a reservation, and passes to the Heartburn Lounge" Tails says, showing her two bar codes.

The cat scans them and taps around her tablet for a moment, "Follow me"

Tails and Sonic are led through the noisy lounge where the regulars are at and taken deeper into the restaurant into a different room. More smooth colour changing lights, a quieter atmosphere and trendy pop music playing, there's a big pink neon heart on the wall where the bar is, it looks as if its meltimg and on fire at the same time. At the same time there are all these other burning pink and orange neon hearts that are almost like shooting stars dotted around the walls where the tables are.

"Enjoy your stay" The cat says once she's led them to their table, which is a semi circular table by a wall with a cool pink neon light providing calming yet mood setting light, the cat hands them the menus and she walks away.

Sonic looks some more at the burning neon heart at the bar, something about it just spoke to him and he didn't know what.

"What do you think?" Tails says taking his hand gently.

"It's... Uh... Warm" Sonic says.

"That's why I like this place. I designed my elastiribbons here after you got hurt coming back from our first trip to Earth, it's a place that's given me a lot of inspiration, that's one reason I wanted to take you here because this place is special to me" Tails says, messaging Sonic's hand gently.

"I can see why, the atmosphere here is a vibe" Sonic says.

Tails leans over and kisses him on the cheek, he picks up the menu and gives it a read, Sonic picks his up too and the two look it over deciding on what they want to order. While Tails looks at the menu, Sonic peeks over his and looks at Tails, the fox notices him staring so Sonic pretends he was still reading it anyway, blushing like an embarrassed school girl.

"You don't have to pretend you're not looking at me" Tails says, poking his nose gently.

"I know It's just... I can't believe this is happening. I'm on a date with the guy I really only saw as a little brother" Sonic says adjusting his sunglasses.

"I honestly thought you were gonna turn me down... But I guess you really did want to try this" Tails responds, as he browses through the menu.

"Well now that we're on that topic, I kinda did think you were... Oh god... Cute, sorta"

Tails stays silent for a second, then suddenly breaks out into laughter while Sonic covers his face with his hands.

"You're funny" Tails says through his laughter.

Sonic grumbles and hidea his blushing face with the menu. Tails slides closed to him and gives him a loving squeeze.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Tails asks as he slides back over to his side of the table, the fox gives him a playful grin while Sonic looks over he menu at his smaller date.

"I don't know I guess I just didn't want to look lame" Sonic responds, scratching the back of his head.

"Aww, I don't think you're lame, even then I didn't think you were. And guess how I feel about you now?"

"How do you feel about me?"

"I think you're perfectly imperfect and that's one reason why I care about you so much" Tails says, looking into his eyes.

Sonic sighs and pulls Tails closer to him, "Thanks Tails"

The fox's chest feels like it's melting when Sonic presses him on his side, he can't remember the last time his heart has felt so tender. He closes his eyes and shows Sonic his happiest smile.

"No problem~"

Just than a waiter approaches the two, when Sonic and Tails see him approaching the table the straighten themselves up and look up at the racoon taking their order.

"What would you boys like tonight?" He asks with a French accent.

"Hamburg steak, with a side of Macaroni and Cheese" Tails requests.

"Uhhh, what's the Cheesedog Supreme?" Sonic asks curious to see what that is.

"Think of it as a Cheesedog, but bigger" The waiter responds.

"Ok then, I'll have that and a side of Macaroni and Cheese as well"

The waiter takes a moment to write their orders down and then asks what drinks the boys want.

"Anything to drink?"

"Watermelon Soda" Sonic says.

"Strawberry Cream Soda" Tails requests.

The waiter takes another moment to write down their drinks and then asks what sweet treats they would like.

"And for desert?"

"Triple Chocolate Lava Cake" They both say at the same time.

The two look at eachother when they realise they ordered the same thing. Sonic can feel his face turning warm, Tails' chest feels like a shaken soda, ready to burst with happiness at any moment, he lets his tails wag around excitedly as Sonic bangs his head on the table. The waiter finishes writing down their desert order and looks at the two goofing off.

"Is that all"

"Yep" They both say in unison yet again.

The waiter walks off, and once he's far enough Tails puts his hand on Sonic's and pats it, Sonic looks up at Tails with watery eyes and a blushing face.

"You've been on a date before Sonic. What's got you so flustered?" Tails asks.

"I've never dated a guy before... Nonetheless the dude I thought was my best friend, I don't know! I guess I'm just so used to girls" Sonic answers.

The two stay silent for a moment while Tails looks around the restaurant. Everyone's enjoying themselves and splurging on all sorts of different foods, meanwhile at the bar there were a group of Mobians playing drinking games and enjoying the time of their lives, all while sitting in front of that melting pink neon heart on the wall. Being around all this activity made him feel calm, able to relax without any angst.

"How did you know you were into guys?" Sonic asks.

Tails looks over at Sonic and lays his head on the table, it felt a tad sticky to the touch despite him wearing gloves.

"When I met you" Tails responds.

Sonic nods slightly.

"You found me and showed me I have the ability to rise up and knock down all the barriers in front of me, do good and put my talent to use. You accepted me even though I wasn't normal, and living with you and being able to experience all sorts of awesome stuff with you has been a blast and I couldn't ask for it to be any different. But maybe the part that really got my attention was the fact you just make everyone around you feel great, feel welcomed, like they belong-"

Tails rolls his head over and looks at Sonic with a sunny little smile.

"You have no idea how happy I am to have met you Sonic. You changed my life, and that's why you'll always be in my heart"

Sonic wipes a tear from his eye, "I'm happy I met you too Tails"

Sonic smiles, pulls him close and hugs him tightly, Tails embraces him back and closes his eyes, hoping Sonic wouldn't let go. Sonic opens an eye and sees the black cat from earlier opening the door to let some people in, and the two entering guests were Vector and Vanilla. When Sonic sees Vector he flinches and lets go of Tails which confuses the fox.

"What's wrong?" Tails asks, still hugging Sonic.

"Vector and Vanilla, two o'clock" Sonic mutters.

Tails lets go when he sees Vanilla and Vector being led to a table across the lounge.

"How long have those two been so happy" Tails asks, surprised that the two were dating.

"Vector told me a few days before Cream came out of her coma" Sonic responds.

Sonic clears his throat, "Vector was teasing me about being into guys, and I told him, no way would I ever marry you-"

"Wait he knows we're together?!" Tails asks, trying not to panic.

"N-No, I don't think he knows. I hope he doesn't know" Sonic says quickly.

Vanilla and Vector are sat nearby the bar, a decent distance from Sonic and Tails' table, the two look onwards at them praying they don't notice them sitting nearby, they move closer towards the wall trying to move out of view of the two. The orange light from the neon melting heart above them shines brightly on their fur, as they find themselves centimetres from eachother, silent as the night.

"I uh, I like your sneakers" Sonic says to Tails, trying to start up conversation again.

"Thanks, uh I like your kicks too" Tails responds, looking down at Sonic's sneakers too.

"Where did you get them?" Sonic asks, scratching the back of his head.

Tails looks down at the red and white high tops he has on, "London, back on Earth... Where did you uh, get yours?"

"Whisper gave them to me, she was begging me to wear some new shoes anyway" Sonic answers, peaking his head to see if Vector and Vanilla noticed them yet, luckily for him and Tails, they didn't.

"Even I wanted you to change those sneakers Sonic. Do they feel comfortable when you run?"

"Mhm" Sonic responds, "What about you, are those high tops good for working on your gadgets?"

"They get the job done"

Sonic turns his attention to the thin silky jacket Tails is wearing, noticing the white stripe on the sleeves and the big T and S on the right side of Tails' chest.

"Is that jacket custom?" Sonic asks, wanting to know where it came from.

"Yeah, Blaze gave it to me after I helped fix one of the air purifiers at one of her stores" Tails responds, lifting his arms up and making a T with them.

"What's the T S for?"

Tails moans and looks down at the pink neon strip on the floor beside them, "Tails and Sonic"

"Okay, now that's adorable" Sonic says, patting him on the head.

"Mm" Tails goes, slightly embarrassed about it.

Sonic pecks Tails on the face and puts his hand on top of the T on his jacket and looks Tails in the eyes, "You do know what this means right?"

"W-What?" Tails asks, his face feels like it's gonna melt.

"It means I gotta get an orange one and put S T on it" Sonic says, poking Tails on the nose.

Tails likes the idea of matching jackets, it makes him squirm thinking about Sonic in a matching jacket with his fur colour on it.

"I'll uh... Show you where the place is later then" Tails replies bashfully.

"Look at that, it already feels like there's gonna be a second date" Sonic says throwing his hands up in the air enthusiastically.

Just then the waiter comes with their first course, the Hamburg steak Tails ordered with the steak, and a side of mac and cheese. The Cheesedog Supreme caught Sonic completely by surprise once he sees how huge it is, the blue hedgehog can feel his mouth watering as he stares at it, the waiter sets down his small plate of mac and cheese and then sets down their soda glasses.

"Refills are free, if you want one just call me"

"I know, thanks!" Tails says with a smile.

"Enjoy your food, desert will be coming soon..." The waiter says, then he leaves the two to enjoy their food.

Sonic takes a picture of the Cheesedog before he starts eating it. Tails lifts his soda glass, Sonic notices and does the same.

"To the fox who melted my heart, I love you Tails" Sonic says.

"To the hedgehog who raced away with mine, I love you too Sonic" Tails responds.

The two toast and take a sip of their soda, Sonic loves it, evident by the moans after he sips a bit of his drink.

"Hey, this is really good" Sonic says.

"The Heartburn Lounge is well known across Nightstar City and maybe even Mobius as one of the best restaurants in the world!"

"I can see why-"

Sonic tears a piece of the mammoth cheese dog off and takes a bite into it, another satisfied moan follows as he chews it slowly.

"-they take food very seriously"

Tails starts to eat his steak as he watches Sonic take off his gloves and dig into his food.

"You're not eating a lot tonight, you okay?" Sonic asks.

"Eh I'm not sure-" Tails starts.

Sonic hands him a piece of the cheese dog and smiles at him, "Here, have some of my food"

Tails sighs and takes it reluctantly while grinning at him, "You sure?"

"Yeah, this tastes heavenly, but oh boy I don't think I can eat this alone"

Tails laughs surprised with what Sonic said, after all the last thing he expected him to be sick of was a cheese dog, nonetheless a giant one.

"I'm actually surprised you said that, I expected you to eat the whole thing"

"Eh, I'm in a sharing mood. Besides, a gentleman's gotta treat his boyfriend right! Right?"

"Well said" Tails goes as he takes a bite of the cheese covered meat and bread.

"So uh, can I have a piece of your fancy steak?" Sonic asks.

Tails shakes his head while still grinning at him and cuts off a piece of the meat to give to Sonic, he sticks the fork in Sonic's face and the hedgehog takes a bite.

"Mmm, that's awesome"

"Right?"

While Sonic and Tails enjoy their food and talk with one another, Vanilla and Vector finally order.

"Rice and Pork Chops, I'd like a side of fries too" The crocodile says.

"Parmesan chicken with noodles in Alfredo sauce, I'd like the heart healthy salad on the side" The rabbit requests.

"Dessert?" The waiter asks.

"We'll take the Phantom Vanilla Cake" Vector requests.

"Special occasion?"

"Not exactly" Vanilla answers.

"I see... Anything to drink?"

"Southside Island Scotch" Vector says.

"Tangerine Dream smoothie please" Vanilla says.

Once the waiter is finished writing down their order, he walks away leaving the two to discuss Cream and how she's been since leaving the hospital.

"So how's Cream doing?" Vector asks.

"She calls me once a day from the house, and she tells me she's doing fine" Vanilla says while reading the menu.

"That's nice to hear. I wanna eventually get her something since she's seemed more grey these days"

"I think that might do the trick as well" Vanilla says, closing the menu and looking into Vector's eyes.

"What usually makes her happy?" Vector asks.

"She's been asking me for two things: A camera for pictures, and sewing set so she can make her own dolls" Vanilla responds.

"I think I can handle that" Vector responds, ecstatic about buying them.

Vanilla, appreciating his thoughtfulness smiles at him.

"So how's the detective agency doing?" She asks, resting her head on her hand.

"Oh you know, same old... Mighty's been asking for our help a lot lately, ever since Amy died he's been trying to find the punk who did it and every time he's got something the trail goes cold. Whoever we're dealing with must really know what the hell they're doing"

"It's connected to Knuckles' unfortunate death too, right?"

Vector nods, "I've got my suspicions, and I picthed the idea to Mighty already that it was the same perpetrator, he has every reason to believe I'm right"

"I can't help but wonder if Cream is going to be next, if something happens to her-"

The crocodile puts a claw on her shoulder, "I won't let anything happen to Cream. I promise"

"Thank you Vector" Vanilla says, trying to calm herself down.

Back at the boys table, Sonic is almost done eating his cheese dog, while Tails puts the last piece of the steak in his mouth. The waiter comes and sets full glasses of soda on the table, collects the empty ones and walks off.

"Mmm, that was amazing" Tails says, rubbing his stomach, "With that and the few pieces of cheese dog you gave me, I'm good for now"

Sonic finally eats the last piece of his food and washes it down with the newly refilled glass of watermelon soda.

"So was that cheese dog..." Sonic says wiping his face with a napkin.

"Still got enough room for dessert?" Tails asks.

"You know it" Sonic says.

Tails takes a sip of the strawberry cream soda and sighs, Sonic burps audibly and sighs.

"Hey Tails, do you think a third visit to Earth might be in the books?" Sonic asks.

"I'd love that" Tails responds, looking Sonic in the eyes.

"I knew you would"

Just then their waiter arrives with their dessert. The warmth from the sweet treats can be felt as Tails squeals excitedly and Sonic drools looking at his.

"So what do you want to do when we get to Tokyo?" Sonic asks.

"A lot, I wanna see the Shibuya crossing, the Sky Tree, Tokyo Tower, the Yamonote Line, Tokyo Bay-" Tails says, counting on his fingers.

"Something I wanna do in Tokyo is do one of those go-cart rides, or race one of those awesome street racing cars on the highway. I bet I could beat em"

"While driving... Right?" Tails asks, raising an eyebrow.

Sonic starts sweating profusely, "M-Maybe?"

"You're gonna need some driving lessons if you wanna do either of those things" Tails reminds him.

"Yeah okay, you're right-" Sonic responds, his head hanging low in disappointment.

Tails cuts off a piece of his lava cake, rich dark sweet smelling chocolate dripping from the spoon onto the plate. He takes a bite and moans, loving the sweet sugary taste of the dessert. Sonic tries his too and is blown away by how flavourful it is, the warm chocolate in his mouth was soothing for his heart.

"Oh man, we definitely gotta come back here" Sonic says, food in his mouth.

"Agreed" Tails says after swallowing another spoon full of the dessert.

The two finish their dessert and sit back on the seats while waiting for the waiter go come and give them the check. Sonic once again finds himself staring at the melting neon heart on the wall where the bar was, to him it was like art, something hard to not pay attention to, meanwhile Tails hums along to the pop music playing on the speakers.

At this point Vector and Vanilla are in the middle of their main course. Just as the crocodile puts the last piece of meat in his mouth he notices a familiar tail sticking out from one of the seats.

"Excuse me for a second"

Vanilla looks up at him and then back down at her food, putting a piece of chicken covered in pasta in her mouth as she watches Vector stand up.

He starts walking over to the table where Sonic and Tails are, the two boys are just finishing their sodas as he makes his way through the crowds and tables with lively patrons chatting and dining.

"Man I'm stuffed" Sonic says, the hedgehog looking at Tails who's leaning back on the seat too.

"Same" Tails says, "I had the feeling you'd like this place"

"You know me too well" Sonic says putting his hand on Tails'

Takes takes his hand and looks at him with a warm smile.

"Well isn't this a treat!" A familiar voice says.

Tails and Sonic immediately move their hands away from eachother and straighten themselves up, looking up to see Vector in a suit and tie leaning on the wooden wall behind Sonic's seat.

"Hey Vector! Thought I saw you come in here" Sonic says, trying to play it cool.

"Yeah, me and Vanilla are over there" He says pointing at Vanilla who waves from across the room.

Sonic and Tails nervously return the gesture before paying their attention back to the crocodile.

"So Sonic... Is this your date?" Vector teases.

"N-No" Sonic says, his face turning red slightly.

"Me and Sonic are just having a bros night out!" Tails adds.

"Are you sure? Because the Heartburn Lounge is usually a place where people go for dates... Not really bro time, unless you count dating the fox who's fought alongside you most of your life bro time"

"Gah! Shut up! We're not dating!" Sonic shouts, starting to get flustered by Vector's teasing.

"R-Really Vector, we're just hanging out-" Tails says nervously, "This is my favourite place to go when I need a space to come up with my inventions and I just wanted to take Sonic here, that's it"

"Vector, bro, there's no romance going on here I swear!" Sonic says, pleading him to believe him.

Vector nods, giving the boys the I'm watching you gesture.

"Alright, you two have a good night then" Vector responds, turning around so he can go sit back with Vanilla.

He looks at Sonic who looks like he's ready to explode, Tails looks like he's ready to explode as well.

"Hope the wedding plans go we-"

"We're not dating!" The boys shout, both of them red faced and standing up to make their point clear.

Vector laughs for a bit as he walks back to Vanilla and sits with her. Sonic and Tails grumble loudly as the waiter finally comes to take their empty drink glasses and hands them the check.

Sonic looks at the bill and his eyes go wide when he sees the cost.

"205.85?!" He says astonished at the price.

"Hey it's good, authentic food" Tails says taking out his card, he hands it to the waiter and he takes the tray and walks over to the back to process their payment.

"How do you have the money to pay for this?" Sonic asks.

"It's some of the money I won from the convention, remember?" Tails explains.

"Oh... Cool"

The waiter comes back with a card and a receipt, handing it to Tails.

"Thank you for choosing the Heartburn Lounge, we hope to see you again"

Tails nods and the waiter walks off, Sonic stands up and stretches his legs, then he helps Tails up from his seat.

"10/10 experience" Sonic says, pumping his fists into the air.

Tails and him walk out of the lounge and out of the restaurant, by now a long line has formed with people waiting to eat at the main restaurant and at the Heartburn Lounge itself. As the two walk down the street back to the ship, Tails takes hold of Sonic's hand.

"You okay buddy?" Sonic asks, noticing Tails holding his hand.

"Yeah, it's just getting crowded" Tails responds, he looks back at Sonic and gives him a love peck on the cheek.

"Where are we going?" Sonic asks.

"There's one more thing I want to do before I we go home" Tails says.

Tails takes Sonic into a gold coloured building with light pink neon lights on its exterior, the two take the lift to the top floor and Tails uses a key card to open the door to the roof. The view from where they were was nothing short of majestic, they could see most of Nightstar City from where they were, the different holographic adverts in the sky and rose petals from a planted tree swirling around them as they look into eachothers eyes.

"Tails... This is amazing" Sonic says looking at the vibrant colours around him.

"It's the second tallest building in the city, I thought ending off the night with an amazing view of the city would be a great way to end an amazing night... With an amazing guy..." Tails tells Sonic.

Sonic turns to Tails who's looking at him while the wind blows through his fur, he runs at Tails, and gives the fox boy a passionate kiss. Tails wraps his arms around him firmly and pulls Sonic onto the ground, smiling joyously as Sonic starts to get aggressive with him.

"Mmm, looks like you remembered" Tails moans.

"Fuh... Less talking, more kissing-" Sonic says as he bites Tails gently on the neck.

Sonic rolls Tails on top of him and undoes his jacket before diving back in kissing him aggressively. Tails lets Sonic spread his legs apart and he moves closer to his face to press his lips on Sonic's mouth, the taste of Sonic's saliva makes Tails squeez Sonic harder, his scent makes him feel warm.

Eventually the feeling of breaking and entering, twitching and movement. Sonic lets out a loud grunt as Tails runs his ungloved hands on his chest. Tails can't resist the urge anymore and he starts to squirm and squeeze even tighter.

The pain and pleasure mix as they both grunt and shout audibly, Sonic has enough and starts to thrust, when he does that a lovesick grin appears on Tails' face, his goal all along. Sonic rolls Tails onto his side and thrusts harder into the the fox. Tails moans begin to grow louder and louder, while Sonic takes him faster and faster, biting Tails' ear.

Tails feels it building up in-between his legs, like a shaken soda bottle about to burst, the feelings so good he can't help but drool while Sonic has his way with him. Sonic can't help but feel how warm Tails is getting, his body heat and sweaty fur was making him his hormones rage even more. Tails whimpers as Sonic's thrusting gets faster and more intense, so is whatever is happening within him too, it hurts but he wants more of it, more of this feeling, the feeling of being alive.

Eventually Sonic can't hold it in anymore and he pushes as deep into Tails as he can. Tails can feel the warmth in his stomach getting hotter and hotter, sticky on the inside too, Sonic squeezes Tails tightly as he continues to release inside of him. The fox boy himself feels this oddly satisfying feeling of release as well so he looks down in-between his legs and sure enough it's there, all over his stomach, while Sonic is still twitching and moving around inside of him.

Sonic kisses Tails on the neck while panting heavily, the blue hedgehog never thought he'd loss himself like that, but there he was ontop of Tails who is moaning loudly as Sonic pulls out of him.

"That's gotta be, ugh, the best one yet" Sonic says, through breaths.

"Mmm, that was epic..." Tails says, twitching uncontrollably.

Sonic picks up his gloves and sunglasses and sighs, Tails takes a napkin out of his jacket pocket and wipes himself off.

Sonic looks back at Tails who's tails are swishing around excitedly. He looks at Sonic and immediately his chest feels like a bonfire, he goes to Sonic and rests his head on his chest. Sonic rests his head on top of Tails' and just embraces him tightly, holding him as close as he can.

"Let's go home" Sonic says to Tails, stroking his face with his thumb, he smiles exhaustedly and kisses Tails on the forehead.

"Yeah" Tails says, smiling satisfied with what happened, "Wanna sleep in bed with me?"

"Yeah... Why not?" Sonic responds.

Bruises, scars, wheezing. It's all the ultimate lifeform is being reduced to as day by day he suffers at the hands of Robotnik and his scientists. From beyond the dark, damp room they watch as he lays on the floor motionless.

"Splendid work Shadow... We will continue tomorrow" Gerald says on the microphone.

Shadow can feel his rage growing, his hatred for Tails growing by the minute.

"That little bastard will die... I'll make sure of it"
