The three boys stand there entranced as they watch Sonic and this version of Tails have all sorts of fun with each other... All while the actual Tails of that world watches from a distance observing this perfect imposter.

"This is beyond fucked up" Nine says as he watches.

"Couldn't agree more" Sonic adds.

Tails looks at then for a second and then back over Lumios' projection.

Tails licks his lips as Sonic shoves him against a thick metal sheet of what used to be one of Eggmans Robots, Sonic runs his hands all over Tails' chest making the fox whine and laugh, he pressed his lips on Tails' mouth and Tails laughs as he wraps his arms around Sonic and kisses him happily.

"Is it me or have you been more-"

"Excited?" Tails interupts, then he kisses Sonic on the neck repeatedly.

"That's the word I was looking for?" Sonic answers.

"Wanna look for something a bit beefier~" Tails asks stroking his chin.

Sonic's face turns red and almost immediately lifts Tails up and pushes him against the metal aggressive so they both can get intimate, just as Sonic gets in Tails. The actual Tails of that universe appears behind Sonic and pulls him away from the intruding Tails.

Tails is surprised by this so he sits up and is snapped back to reality almost instantly. Sonic turns around and sees the other Tails tearing up. Sonic's heart throbs nervously as he looks back and forth between the two small foxes, he points to his Tails and then to the Tails he was about to make out with.

"W-W-What the-"

"Sonic! W-What are you doing?" Tails asks shakily.

"I uh... Wait what the hell is going on?"

The other Tails grabs Sonic by the arm, "I don't know what's happening either but we can figure this out back at our place"

Sonic is swiftly grabbed by his Tails who's aggressively pulling him back towards him.

"Sonic, that Tails is an imposter! I'm the one you've spent your life with! Get away from him!"

"Hold on! Hold on! What is going on here!" Sonic says yanking his arms away from both of them.

"I don't know what he's talking about! I woke up in a bush after Eggmans attack! This has to be one of Eggmans tricks!" Tails claims.

The real Tails of this universe however has some tricks up his sleeve for a situation like this.

"Oh yeah?! If you know Sonic so we'll what's his favourite chilli dog topping? Is it pepper flakes or hot sauce"

"Pepper flakes" Tails answers without hesitation.

"What drink does he wash his chilli dogs down with?"

"Cola"

"How fast can he run?"

"767 miles per hour"

"What's his favourite flower?"

Tails gulps, it's a question he didn't expect to be asked. He clears his throat and gives the best answer he can.

"Mobisia Marvelosa Merigoldias" Tails says, uneasiness in his voice.

"... Sunflowers... The correct answer is Sunflowers... That's Checkmate"

"O-Oh"

"Wait, so where did you come from?" Sonic asks.

"I-"

Tails looks at Sonic's eyes looking for a glimpse of hope, a chance to relax but he doesn't see any, just confusion in his eyes. Eyes that were hungry for answers. At that point he sees he's pretty much messed up from there and decides to confess.

"So what kind of freaky android did Eggman make now?" Sonic says.

"I'm not an android Sonic... I'm from another dimension. You see, a year ago I lost my Sonic, my friends, my family to Eggman and I just needed somewhere to start over. That search brought me here where I met you... Where I was able to fall in love again. It felt so right so I kept going. I had no idea you existed in this universe-"

"Look I get that you lost everything dude, but you can't do something like that. You basically took my Tails' life from him, and all to fulfill your weird desires"

"I know I messed up, but just give me a chance-"

"No dude... We're done, you did something horrible and you lied to me. Get out of here" Sonic says, wrapping his arms around the shoulder of the other Tails.

Tails whimpers as he tries to process what is happening, his chest feels like it's crumbling as he collapses to his knees. He can't help but sob as Sonic sighs and takes his Tails away from him. With this sadness however came an ever increasing amount of rage, the fox squeezes his fists and looks up at the two walking away, a feral glare on his face. Rather then walking away however...

"How did he get here from his universe?" Sonic asks as him and Tails go into the trees.

"I'm not sure, maybe he used some sort of super advanced travel. This could open up a lot of doorways for my multidimensional travel theory!" Tails says somewhat excitedly.

Sonic pulls him close and kisses him on the forehead, "Looking forward to every bit of it-"

Zap!

A bright flash of red light and Sonic gasps, Tails stops when he feels Sonic's grip on him lossen.

"Sonic? What's-"

He shrieks loudly as he notices the hole in Sonic's stomach, Sonic puts his hand on his stomach so he can see what's happening and he notices the thick blood on his gloves, he slowly turns around and sees the alternative Tails breathing heavily, rage burning in his eyes and aiming the blaster at him.

"Stop!" The Tails of that universe begs.

"RAHHHHHHH!" Tails screams as he fires another bolt at Sonic, this time hitting him in the chest.

It's finally enough to bring Sonic down for the count, he collapses to his knees as he takes Sonic's hand and squeezes it tightly.

"Sonic!"

"Tails..." Sonic says weakly.

"Hold on! I'm gonna get Amy here, sh-she can help you!" Tails says, squeezing his hand tighter.

"I'm not gonna make it Tails... I already feel cold... Just like that night in the Cool Edge Zone"

Tails looks back at his rage consumed doppelganger and sees he is shocked at what he's done.

"I...I... What have I done" Tails whimpers, tears still streaming down his face.

His wide eyes can't seem to stay steady, darting around like a paranoid maniac, his hands shake so much the blaster is rattling, he backs away and then breaks out into a run.

"Hey! Stop!" Tails shouts.

Sonic using the last of his energy takes an exotic flower from a bush and puts it on Tails' ear.

"See... You look pretty with... Flowers..."

Tears pour down his eyes as he watches Sonic finally pass away in his arms. Amy and Knuckles come running in as soon as the fox's crying is loud enough.

"Oh my god! Sonic! What happened to him?! Is he okay?" Amy says shocked at what she's seeing.

Tails looks up at him fur covered in blood, "He-He's dead..."

"Th-This has to be a joke..." Knuckles says.

Amy gives Tails a hug as he finally falls apart, Knuckles squeezes his fists and sniffles, Amy closes Sonic's eyes with her fingers and continues to embrace the wailing little Tails.

Alternate Tails watches from a distance, before walking away, into a red portal, his fur a disheveled mess and face still wet from his tears. Once he's in, the portal closes.

"...Well he definitely didn't take that well" Sonic goes.

"He... Did it out of jealousy..." Nine goes, the discovery of this clearly filling him with burning rage and disgust.

"There's no way he thinks I'm that crazy right?" Tails says looking up at Sonic with worried eyes.

"I don't think you're crazy Tails" Sonic says, seeing he needs comfort so he embraces him and kisses him on the cheek.

"Okay" Tails responds, somewhat less agitated.

Nine looks over at them for a moment, then a red flash of light happens yet again and they see Tails on what looks to be Earth crying and sobbing.

"Where is that?" Nine asks.

"Earth, I think..." Sonic responds, then he looks around and recognises a familiar building in the background... The World Trade Center in New York City.

"That's New York..." Tails says.

Tails shuffles down the busy sidewalk, a cloak covering him as the rain poured down. He eventually crawls his way into an abandoned building and closes the heavy metal door behind him, coming up the steps into what looks like a makeshift apartment and he collapses next to the life sized Sonic plush next to him

"Tails, do you think you could narrow that down to anywhere we might have seen?" Sonic asks.

"I can try, but we're gonna have to probably go back to Earth" Tails answers.

"That area does look familiar though..." Sonic says, as he tries to remember where he saw the building.

While they continue to debate where they may have seen the building Nine continues to watch as the months go by and the Tails he's itching to get his revenge on is covered in snack wrappers, beer bottles and soda cans all over the floor, his fur unmanageable and dirty, eyes devoid of any emotion at all.

One day, the fox returns to his small abandoned apartment and drops the bag of food he's got on a rickety desk and he sits up against a wall eating a piece of bread. The fox his gloves are ripped up and his fingernails are sticking through them. Tails moans as he looks at a faded picture of him and Sonic cuddling in station Square, everyday he wished he could rewrite that day... Maybe save his life.

Once he finishes his bread he stands up and looks out the window at the full moon in the sky, the white light reminded him of Sonic's grin, the grin that made his heart skip a beat. The fox squeezes his fist and sighs. That night he cleans himself up, grooms his fur, cleans out his teeth, and fixes up his finger nails - not cutting them, but making them so that he can claw his way through every possible version of Sonic he encounters.

"If I can't have Sonic... No one can... No one in any universe. They will all die"

He spends the next few weeks creating all sorts of weapons, specifically designed to kill Sonic... And anyone else who got in his way. Once all the weapons are built. He swings on a black and orange cloak and uses the ruby to open a portal, when he does his eyes turn red as he walks into the light.

Nine squeezes his fist, "That bastard..."

Sonic tugs on his bandana, visibily uncomfortable with their discovery. Tails squeezes his hand and tries to comfort him when he notices how unsettled he is.

~

Tails arrives, ready to take out his first target. He looks around the wooded area and spots a cabin in the distance, he sees the blue blur, this version of him with a scar on his right eye and a mechanical arm on his left comes out of the house, a perky Tails with freckles on his face and a pair of goggles comes out behind him and jumps on his back. He watches from behind a tree as Sonic spins around laughing as Tails continues to get playful with him.

Tails finally jumps off his back and kisses him on the lips before taking his bag from the porch steps and waving goodbye to Sonic. Once Tails is gone, the alternate jumps makes his move taking a metal looking bracelet from his utility belt and slapping it on his wrist, the bracelet then transforms into what looks to be an armoured glove. He flexes his finger to make sure it works then he runs off into the house smashing through the window and surprising Sonic who's in the kitchen cooking something.

"T-Tails? Is that you?" Sonic asks.

Tails jumps onto the counter and runs at Sonic jumping onto him and slashing him in the chest, Sonic stumbles backwards into the floor screaming in agony. Tails steps on his right leg breaking it, Sonic lets out another pained scream but he stil has fight in him and he kicks Tails backwards with his other leg. Tails takes a burning hot frying pan from the stove and smashes Sonic's face with. He picks Sonic up buybthe neck and slams him into the kitchen counter.

The blue hedgehog desperately tries to get the crazed kitsune off him but Tails eventually grabs his metal arm and tears it off throwing it away into the living room, sparks from the wires still crackling as Tails pops the claws on the armoured hand and stabs Sonic in the gut with them, Sonic gasps and looks into the emotionless eyes of the doppelganger. He pulls the claws out of him and let's Sonic slump against the counter.

Sonic's shaking hand tries to cover his wound as Tails pops the claws on his other hand and slashes Sonic in the neck, blood oozes out fast as lava as the poor hedgehog chokes on his blood. Once Tails is satisfied that he will die he steps back and watches Sonic wheeze and reach his hand out to Tails who simply stands still and watches the life fade out of him.

"W...Why"

Tails simply just stays silent as Sonic finally succumbs to his wounds, his pupils expanding like the black pits of space.

Crash!

The alternate Tails looks over and sees a broken pot of flowers on the floor. The foxy genius of that world stares in horror as Tails looks him in the eyes, both red and then at his blood covered claws and armoured hand.

Without saying anything, a red portal opens behind him and he steps on through, when the flash of red light is gone. Tails collapses to his knees and crawls over to Sonic and sob.

"H-How many has he done this to?" Sonic asks, visibly shaky.

Lumios sighs and looks at Sonic, Tails doing his best to soothe him by hugging him and holding his hand, "2,985"

Sonic can't take it anymore and he turns around an throws up.

"779 versions of Tails are also among the dead" Lumios adds.

Tails gasps, and then hears the sound of flesh piercing he looks over and sees the cloaked Tails impaling another version of himself with the armoured claws, the metal nails deep in his gut, he coughs up blood before falling backwards on top of the dead Sonic behind him, then he walks into a portal leaving that universe.

Tails gulps and takes a deep breath.

"Can we move on to the interesting part now, I don't wanna see this asshole kill more Sonics, it's making my stomach churn!" Nine shouts.

"As you wish" Lumios answers.

With a wave of the hand and another bright light, the boys are shown a firey hellscape.

Tails fires a blaster bolt at Knuckles ending the echidnas life as he collapses onto his knees Infront of him and dies. He looks around and takes a deep breath the smell of burning wood and flesh fill the air as he takes a look around him. Sonic, Jet, Wave, Sally, Amy, Cream, Shadow, Blaze, Surge, Kitsunami, Tangle, Whisper, everyone... Even that universe's version of himself all lay dead around him and Knuckles was the last to die in that group fighting to the very end.

A red portal opens behind him as he puts the blaster away, his blood covered grey and orange gloves wreak of the scent of his victims. Just as he's about to step into the portal he hears a groan, and he turns around... The Sonic of that universe is crawling to his feet, ever so slowly, blood streaming down his mouth as he looks at Tails with a menacing glare. It actually surprised him to see he was alive, so he turns around and steps out of the portal.

"Why... What would make you want to do this... What would you gain from it?!" Sonic says weakly.

Tails growls quietly as he eyeballs back the weakened Sonic trying to intimidate him of course.

He stumbles over towards Tails, squeezing his waist, Tails gasps and tries to back away from him but Sonic gets close enough and just hugs him refusing to let go. Tails tries to stab him with the metal claws on his armoured hand, but Sonic holds his arm down and squeezes him tighter using his teeth to take off his hood and press his face on his.

"You're angry... I get it... I get angry too. You've taken your rage out on what makes you mad. But did you ever consider that you have to be angry, that you can find what you want without hurting everyone around you..."

Tails starts shaking, so he tries desperately to get away from Sonic so he can pull his blaster out on him and end him, but Sonic like a stubborn friend refuses to let go.

"You loved someone and you lost them. I get it it sucks, I've lost people too... And I ain't even talking about right now. I've lost my parents, a very sweet princess I knew, and Rouge... She was adventurous heh heh"

Tails' struggling to get away from Sonic intensifies as the hedgehog hold him tighter.

"Let me let you in on a little secret. Even though I've lost everything, I always find a way to start over even if it's hard. I know you can start over too, it may be rough and you may have doors slammed in your face but... Ngh... You can do it, I know you can. You're an alternate version of my my little bro and I know you can do anything. Even find love again"

Tails can feel a tear streaming down his face as Sonic messages his head gently, he was trying to avoid it at all costs but he actually started to cry once he received that wake up call, letting himself fall apart in Sonic's arms... Who knew it was the one thing he needed.

"Shhhh, I gotcha... I gotcha..."

Sonic takes the armoured glove off Tails hand and slowly moves his other hand so he can embrace him tighter, Tails wails louder and louder as Sonic closes his eyes and strokes his head gently.

"That's right... Let it all out... Let yourself fall apart, just like a sand castle washed out to sea"

Tails takes something and slaps it on his side firmly. Sonic looks down and sees it's a glowing bandaid of some sort and it's slowly healing his wounds, he looks up at the shaken Tails on his knees breathing heavily as he looks up at Sonic.

"I-I-I... I'm sorry"

Sonic hugs him again.

"We all get blinded by anger and let it drive us. Don't let anger take the wheel, let yourself take the wheel, control your own destiny"

Tails takes a capsul from his pocket, Sonic at first thinking it's a bomb flinches. Tails pushes the button and it releases an orange sparkling gas into the air. Sonic looks around and sees the Tails that he once though was dead moan and slowly stand up weakly, soon Shadow, then Amy, the entire family is revived within minutes, the gas also puts the fire out while healing some of their injuries. Sonic looks back at Tails who slowly stands up, Sonic puts his hands on his shoulders and then on his face.

"See, I knew you had some light in that dark heart of yours. Now, don't forget what I told you got it?" Sonic says.

"O-Okay" Tails goes.

Tails hands Sonic more of the medical patches and gives Sonic a hug before walking towards the portal, taking one last look at them and their confused eyes... But when he saw the Tails he revived not too long ago smiling and giving a subtle nod, it makes his heart grow a few sizes more. He turns around walks into the portal and it closes, Sonic takes a deep sigh and looks back at his family.

"How does you calm him down?" Amy asks.

Sonic laughs, "I have a way with words... But I genuinely hope he changes though, I saw good in him... I just hope he knows he can do good too"

"Lame" Surge grumbles, crossing her arms.

"You say it's lame, I say it's a lesson. That's where we defer Miss Tenrec" Sonic responds.

"Tch" Surge goes.

With that, another flash of light happens. This time Tails is back in the realm of lust, tears still streaming down his face. Lumios appears infront of him seeing Tails crying actually seems to catch their attention.

"So you see where you've faultered..." Lumios says.

"...Yes. Or maybe it's because every Sonic in every universe had that one trait where they just persevere no matter what. That's why I've come back, to wish for a new start, a world where I can fit" Tails says.

"Are you sure that is what you wish?" Lumios questions awaiting confirmation on what Tails just said.

Tails nods and sniffles, "Yes"

"Your wish is my command" Lumios says.

And with a bright flash of light, Lumios opens a portal to a brand new world.

"Be warned mortal, you may not retain your memories of your previous life" Lumios says.

Tails turns around thinks for a second...

"Strangely... I'm okay with that" He says with an exhaustef smile.

And walks into the portal anyway, looking forward to his new future, his new love.

And with another blinding flash of light the story is over, and the boys find themselves back in the realm.

"Does that give you the answers you're looking for?" Lumios asks.

"Do you know which world that Tails is in?" Nine asks.

"Unfortunately, I do not... New universes add being created every day mortal. I cannot keep track of all of them, even for a god such as myself" Lumios responds.

Nine's chest tightens up when he hears that and his head drops low. Sonic frowns feeling bad for him a little, Tails sighs and lets his head rest on his shoulder.

"Is there anything further you wish mortal" Lumios says, their distorted voice echos throughout the realm.

"No, that'll be all" Sonic responds.

"No..." Nine says, trying to bottle his rage.

Sonic can't stand seeing Nine on the verge of tears so he goes over and hugs him, Nine wraps his arms around him too as Tails looks up at Lumios.

"Take us back to the mortal world please" Sonic requests.

"As you wish"

With a puff of smoke both Nine and Sonic are teleported back to the ruined Eggman ship. However Tails is still present in the realm and he's still looking at Lumios.

"Why did you lie to them... You had the chance to expose me to him and you didn't, why?" Tails says.

"Watching broken mortals such as yourself fix themselves and start anew is entertaining. So long as you stick to this path of rehabilitation, I will keep your secret... Those were the terms of our agreement" Lumios answers.

"Right... Well I've been holding up my side, just so you know" Tails says.

"I see... I will now return you to where you came from" Lumios goes.

Tails nods and with a wave of the hand is returned to the dead ship, still holding the ruby in his hands, the fox sees Sonic comfortimg a sobbing Nine as he screams and sobs. He knows he will never get the revenge he was hoping for, poor unfortunate soul.

"It's not fair... It's not fair at all!" Nine shouts.

Sonic holds him close as Nine breaks down in his arms.

"I'm so sorry Nine" Sonic says.

"Sonic... What do we do with the ruby?" Tails asks.

"We're not taking it with us since it exists in every universe, but maybe we should put it somewhere where we can easily access it again if we find out anything else about Nine's Sonic" The hedgehog answers.

"Good idea"

"Come on Nine, let's get you home" Sonic says, helping him to his feet so they could leave the rotting ship.

The boys make their way out of the ship through an open air vent and walk along the coastline back to Nines ship. It was at this point the sun was beginning to set and the night was beginning, Sonic looks at the sunset as they walk together back to the woods. The sunset relaxes the angsty Nine as well as he holds onto Sonic, Tails takes his phone from his utility belt and takes a picture of it, it too was a

"Now that I know he's really gone, I'm not sure if I want to go home anymore" He respond, tears flowing down his face.

"So where do you wanna go?" Tails asks.

"Out of this universe, anywhere but here, I have nothing left here... Nothing at all" Nine responds, still embracing Sonic tightly.

That's when Sonic remembers...

"Why not come back to our world. You'll have plenty of people to talk to. Plenty of friends to make, you might even find love there too" Sonic offers with a warm smile.

Tails is stunned to hear him throw that proposal at him so fast.

Nine sniffles and looks up at Sonic, "R-Really?"

"Of course, I've been looking for a new family member sorta too... And I think you'd fit in great" Sonic says.

Nine sighs, the offer of not being alone got him, and even though he couldn't say it or show it at the moment, he loved Sonic still... Even though Tails posed a risk to his life for loving him too.

"I'll go" Nine answers, "I just gotta get the stuff in my lab there's things that are too valuable for me to leave in this world"

"Alright!" Sonic says, squeezing him like a teddy bear, "Wooooo!"

Nine rolls his eyes, and hugs him back with a pouty face. Tails was hoping he wouldn't do that but he supposes it wouldn't be such a bad thing if Nine came to their world so he goes along with it. While he's thinking about that however...

"Sonic! The Glastonbury Festival back on Earth!" Tails shouts.

"Huh? Oh shoot! Yeah, we were supposed to sing a song!" Sonic shouts too, remembering that they were supposed to go to a festival when all this went down.

"How fast can you get us back Nine?"

Nine smirks, "What do you take me for?"

Glastonbury, England

The sound of all different types of music fill Nines ears as he sits there fiddling with a phone Tails got him. At this time, he opted to change his outfit, a black turtleneck and black shorts a new set of black fingerless gloves, a metal patch on the left one and small patch for holding things on his right one. Tails comes into the yurt and sighs, Nine looks up at him as he approaches him.

"I know we haven't exactly started off the best way possible... But I want to move on from this drama we have. It's fine if you don't like me, you every reason to not like me. But for Sonic's sake, let's just stop fighting" Tails says.

"Yeah, okay... I can bury the hatchet" Nine says.

Tails smiles and takes something from out of his utility belt, a small skull pin and a paket with ear piercings, Nine's eyes light up when he sees them and he snatches then from Tails.

"Thanks" Nine says.

Sonic burst into the yurt making both foxes jolt abruptly.

"Tails! It's almost time for us to go on stage!" Sonic shouts excitedly, some silly string in his fur and quills.

Tails gasps and jumps up so he can join Sonic on stage. Sonic turns to Nine who locks eyes with him.

"You wanna see the show?" Sonic asks.

"I'm good, thanks" Nine responds looking up at Sonic.

Sonic sighs and goes to Nine taking his hand, "Come on Nine, it'll be fun. I promise you"

Nine blushes slightly and looks away from Sonic, "F-Fine... I'll try it"

"Awesome!" Sonic says excitedly, lifting him up from off the ground cushion he's sitting on and carrying him in his arms, Nine shouts angrily clearly annoyed by Sonic's sudden burst of excitement.

In response to Sonic's sudden scoop up, he fires his fist into Sonics face. Tails expected that to happen so he face palms.

"O-Okay... I deserved that... But why so hard?!"

"You're not a child! I'm not a child! And put me down dumbass!"

Sonic not wanting him to go for his face again sets him down on the ground, "Okay! Okay! Sheesh... Just don't go for my face again, agh that stings"

Nine regretting hitting the hedgehog in the face decideds to embrace him, "Sorry"

"It's cool, I'll admit... I'm a bit of a dumbass sometimes" Sonic says, wiping his nose.

The two share a laugh until Tails clears his throat and points to the clock on the night stand.

"Oh right! The show" Sonic says, he takes Nine by the hand and scoops up Tails and they run back stage as the crowd cheers the previous performance by the rock band.

Sonic and Tails drink some water and do some stretches while the announcer walks onto it waving at the crowd. Nine is completely confused as to why they are going through this much trouble for no reward.

"Ready?" Sonic says to Tails.

The fox boy takes his hand with a peppy smile on his face, "Always!"

The two share a brief kiss before going to the curtain.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Give it up for the Black Tombstones!"

The crowd roars and shouts wildly as they cheer for the rock band. The tall members or the band look down at Sonic and Tails before continuing backstage.

"And now it is time for our very last performance here at this year's Glastonbury Festival!"

A round of applause and cheering could be heard as Sonic jogs in place while reading the lyrics from the song him and Tails wrote together.

"They talk of the entire world, they caused mischief in New York, and saved London from threat otherwise unknown to any of us... Please give it up for... Sonic and Tails!"

The crowd cheers louder then usual as Sonic zooms onto the stage jumping up and down excitedly, Tails follows him waving to the crowd too. Sonic takes the microphone from the announcer and the man walks off the stage.

"What's up everyone! You all having a good night? Because I sure am!" Sonic says.

"Yeah!" The audience screams.

"Glad to hear it!" Sonic says, he looks back at Tails and gives him a thumbs up.

As the song starts up, Sonic jumps around pumping his fist into the air excitedly. Tails watches him jump around excitedly sort of entranced by what he was doing in a way because it was making his face turn red, same with Nine only he looks away as he watches the two perform.

"The Suns out!
The time is now
Why don't you come and hang with me now
Cooking marshmallows until the sun goes down... yeah!"

Sonic jumps high into the air before continuing to the next part.

The music plays some more in the background as Tails picks up a microphone and jumps onto Sonic planting an affectionate kiss on his face before singing his part of the song.

"My love for you rises up to the sky, hot air balloons on the fly! So big and courageous, now that's contagious-"

Tails pokes Sonic on the nose as he sings that last part and then swing around back towards the audience.

"-I need someone willing to loooove!

Yeah! Run with me, lead the way! This weather is too good for us not to play, plants the seeds inside my head! Ohhh yeah!"

Both boys sing along now as Nine watches, slowly growing more inspired by what they're doing, the song they sing sending the right message in his heart.

Sonic and Tails jump around as the crowd cheers them on, both of them holding hands. Nine, unable to contain himself any longer gets up, mic in hand and runs on infront of Sonic and Tails, confusing them both, but to their surprise....

"I know you've this way the whole time, let's do this now that we're in our prime! Don't let the haters drag you down! The baits all laid out! Closing walls it's hard to breathe, I won't even care if you tease! Just let me hold your haaaand, mmmm!"

Sonic and Tails look at eachother and smile.

"Why are you sitting there? Are you just going to stare? Or are we gonna tear this bitch up OHH YEAAHHH YEAHHH!"

All three sing along as they close the tune together.

"Oh the sky!"

Following an intense guitar solo, the two continue to excite the crowd as their cheers grow louder and louder.

"Sapphire eyes! YEAHH!"

Phones wave around in the air, glow sticks sway slowly and the people grow ever more impressed as the boys finally bring the song to an end.

"You're all I want! You're all I need! Come and and sing this song with me!
You're sapphire eyes are all I need! I know it's contagious, you can call it outrageous but you're just right for me..."

The song finally finishes and they bow to the audience, which erupts into cheers. Sonic looks at Nine and Tails and brings them all close, Tails moans satisfied with the way Sonic smells after the performance, Nine grumbles in embarrassment and looks away from Sonic and Tails.

"Thank you Glastonbury!" Sonic shouts as they walk off the stage.

London
5:23 AM

The first thing Sonic and Tails do when they get back to London is collapse on the couch. Nine, still unfamiliar with how less advanced human technology is tries tapping on the television screen to turn it on.

"Why isn't it turning on?"

"Why isn't what turning on" Sonic asks, his head still in a pillow.

"This screen" Sonic rolls his head and sees Nine trying to turn it on, he snickers to himself and tosses the remote at him.

Nine almost drops it on the floor, but he manages to get a hold of it.

"Push the green button" Sonic says rolling onto his back.

Tails finally rolls onto his side and sighs, Nine turns on the television and the first thing he sees is a recording of him singing at the festival.

"I see this world is less advanced then mine" Nine says.

"Yeah, ours is on the same level... Sorta" Sonic says.

"We adapted technology from this universe and used it to make ours better" Tails explains.

"Best part about our universe is we don't have Eggman, everything's A okay. Though, I wish his death was under different circumstances" Sonic adds.

"What happened to him?" Nine asks.

"He was accidentally killed while trying to stop Tails. Almost drowned with him trying to get out of his ship, it was crazy"

Nine uses a mechanical claw to pick up a dusty laptop from a shelf. He examines it and then opens it, trying to turn it on. Sonic interested to see what he's doing gets up from off the couch, Tails watches from the couch. When he turns on the laptop it prompts him to enter the password.

"It's locked Nine, you can't get in... Maybe Tails can get in th-"

Nine turns one of his tails into a scanner which scans the USB port, a matching USB plug pops out and Nine puts it inyo the laptop, Sonic is shocked when he sees him do this, a box with code appears on the screen and Nine, the password suddenly appears in the box and he hits enter, unlocking the laptop.

"Or uh it looks like you got it" Sonic goes.

"Whaddya think?" Nine asks looking into Sonic's eyes with a smirk.

Sonic can feel his face turn red but he gives a nervous thumbs up, and tries to put a smile onto his face. Tails notices this but doesn't care too much about it at the moment.

"It was uh... pretty cool, good job I guess"

Nine grabs Sonic by the bandana and licks his cheek, Sonic jumps back not expecting him to do that. Nine lets out a laugh and takes Sonic back over to the computer linking arms with him.

"So how do I use this Sonic?"

Sonic clears his throat, "You use the mouse pad, or uh-"

Sonic looks around and then sees a box below where the laptop is, he takes the lid off and sees a mouse.

"Oh perfect"

Sonic puts the mouse pad on the coffee table and moves the laptop on top of it along with the mouse which he plugs into the laptop. Nine links his arm with his again, Sonic smiles at him.

"Right, so what do you wanna do first?"

"Search the web, I wanna see if it's any good"

"Sure, okay so you see this thing here called Google Chrome click on it..."

Watching Sonic show Nine how Earth's technology worked makes Tails smile, it reminded him of when Sonic showed him how to ride a hover board.

Later that day, the three watch the sunset from atop the Gherkin Building. It was time for them to leave Earth, and time for Nine to finally see Mobius for the first time.

"I'm still bummed out we didn't get to visit Tokyo" Tails says with a sigh.

"Don't worry Tails, we'll come back one day" Sonic says kissing him on the head.

"I'll remember you said that" Tails says crossing his arms.

"Hahahaha, I'm counting on it" Sonic responds.

Tails fires a blast of the Dream Jumper Mini down and a portal to Mobius opens below. The occupants of the Gherkin building look down in confusion as they are mesmorised by the glowing mysterious circle. Sonic takes Tails and Nine by their hands and looks at them briefly.

"Why are we doing this again?" Nine asks, somewhat worried about what they're doing.

"Sky diving into a portal is on my bucket list, thought I'd cross it off while I can" Sonic says, stretching his arms and legs.

"Gah! Can't we just go in from the ground like how you did when we got here from my world?" Nine says, sweating beads.

"One thing you should know about Sonic, stuff like this is his thing..." Tails says, scratching the back of his head.

"Nothing like a sweet brush with death to make you feel alive! WOOO!"

And with a leap, the three boys are free falling towards the portal below, Nine screams for his life squeezing Sonic tightly while Tails laughs excitedly and Sonic screams loudly a big fearless grin on his face. The three go into the portal and when they do it closes behind them.

They fall through the clouds eventually the skyline of Nightstar City makes itself seen, Nine is fascinated by the neon glow of the buildings, how into the future the city looked, the sci-fi looking holograms and projections. The one that caught his attention was a holographic fish swimming around a building lit by red neon strips.

"Ready Sonic?!" Tails shouts as they get closer to the ground.

"Whenever you are!" Sonic shouts, the blue blur loving the feeling of the wind on his face.

Tails takes Sonic by the hand, Nine, slowly catching on to what Tails is about to do takes Sonic's other hand. Tails and Nine nod to each other and then they both use their tails to slow their decent down into the plaza below where Blaze and Silver are standing there waiting for them. The first thing Sonic does when he sees them is pull them in for a hug. Tails and Nine fist bump and walk up from behind Sonic.

"I was wondering when you'd come home!" Blaze says.

"Yeah, leading this team is kinda draining" Silver adds, resting his hand on his face.

"Sorry I kept you guys busy for so long, a lot's happened since we left" Sonic answers.

"... Yeah, a lot's happened here too. Like Shadow just disappearing on us" Blaze responds, crossing her arms.

Sonic's smile goes away when he hears Blaze mention that, he sighs and looks up at Blaze and Silver.

"Shadow... Shadow came to Earth, tried to kill Tails. We had to take him down, there was no other way, if you saw how relentless he was to try and get him you'd understand"

The news of what Shadow had done makes the two frown in disappointment.

"Tails put up a pretty good fight though, you should have seen him! He was kicking ass!"

Nine looks over at Tails, "Turns out I can harness Chaos energy...  I still gotta learn how  to control it, but I think I did pretty well for my first time"

"That's awesome!" Silver says, delighted to hear the news.

Blaze notices Nine and Tails chatting with each other and is immediately both alarmed and intrigued by the appearance of this unusual doppelganger.

"Soooo, you bought home an extra Tails I see" She says.

Nine growls at Blaze, Sonic puts his hand on his head so he can try and calm him down.

"Yeah, uh he doesn't like being called that... so uh introduction time I guess. Guys, this is Nine, he's basically Tails but more irritable and a tad bit more violent"

Nines mechanical Tails suddenly release springing up into the air, sharp as the edge of a sword. Blaze and Silver jump in surprise and back up a little.

"Oh, I see, apologies then... Nine" Blaze says to him, she can feel sweat dripping down her face.

Silver raises his hands up in the air too.

"It's fine" Nine answers, the headpats from Sonic finally calming him down and his mechanical claws retract around his tails once again.

"So where's he from?" Silver asks.

"Another universe... He doesn't have anywhere to go so I decided to bring him here" Sonic explains.

"Are you always going to take in strays?" Blaze asks crossing her arms.

"Hey, he may be scary but he can be as sweet as candy when he wants to be" Sonic responds, patting Nine on the head.

"I-I'll take your word for it" Blaze says.

"What is this place?" Nine asks, still interested in the big cyberpunk like city.

"Nightstar City, this place was designed by Sonic, Tails and Shadow. Took a few months actually to build actually, look at this place! To think it only took a few months to build and become this big... And this awesome!" Silver explains, emersed in the charm of the city himself.

"Awesome..." Nine says, a smile growing on his face.

Sonic seeing Nine loving the city, smiles and moves his hand from Nine's head. The fox grabs Sonic's hand though and puts it back on his head, while giving Sonic an aggressive glare.

"O-Okay, Sheesh!"

Nine sighs and looks back up at the skyscrapers and flying cars.

"Hey Nine... Do you uh want me to find a place for you here?" Sonic asks.

Nine looks up at Sonic, "I-I'm not sure"

"It's alright... I won't rush you buddy" Sonic says.

Nine embraces Sonic and whimpers slightly, Sonic messages his head and back while Nine cries softly in his arms.

"Is he okay?" Blaze asks, concerned of their new guests wellbeing.

"He hates being alone, it's the one thing that scares him I think. It's probably what led to me taking him here in the first place, I was genuinely concerned about him" Sonic says while Nine sniffles.

"He lost someone he loved. It broke him" Tails adds.

"Damn, that sucks. Not too long ago we lost someone who was like a sister go all of us. Even though she was crazy, we loved her" Silver responds.

Tails glares at Silver, the grey hedgehog clears his throat and looks away from the annoyed fox.

"Come on Nine, let's get you to our place. You can have Amy's room"

"Okay" Nine says moving away from Sonic.

Nine sits in the empty room on the bed, the pink walls made his stomach churn so he goes into his backpack and pulls out some spray paint bottles.

"Let's turn this eyesore into a home"

Sonic walks by his room after unpacking the rest of his things and hears the hissing sound of spray paint from behind the closed door in Nine's room. He opens the door and the powerful scent of the spray paint slams into his nose like a wrestler, it almost makes him nauseous but he's able to compose himself.

"So uh you're remodeling?" Sonic asks with a nervous smile on his face.

"Duh" Nine goes, lifting the mask on his face.

"Ah, pink's not your thing, noted" Sonic says.

"Well uh, can you open the window please... This place wreaks of chemicals" Sonic requests.

Nine sights and does what Sonic requests of him. The sound of the waves hitting the beach Is the first thing he hears before getting back to work covering the walls with dark grey paint, he covers his face with the mask and looks at Sonic who's still in the doorway.

"Thank you"

"Whatever"

"Dinners gonna be ready soon by the way"

"Great! Now can you get out?!"

"Right, right sorry"

Nine sighs and turns back to Sonic.

"Sonic wait!"

Sonic peaks back into the room.

"Wanna help me decorate?" He says lifting the mask up and revealing a happy smile.

Sonic smiles and walks up to him so he can kiss him on the mouth, Nine wraps his arms around Sonic's waist and kisses him back.

"Only after you take a well deserved break" Sonic teases.

"Thought you'd never ask" Nine responds, touching noses with him.

The two resume their moment, Sonic lifts Nine onto the covered bed making the little fox yelp in surprise. The two both laugh as they kiss eachother passionately.

Unknown location in England

Chains swing and squeak as the sounds of an old fan vibrate the entire concrete room. Chained to the wall is a bandaged and bruised Shadow, his head hung low as the flashback of his showdown with Tails plays in his head over and over again. Seeing Tails go super was a surprise to him still, an unwelcome one nonetheless. The ultimate lifeform since the day of his capture, has been   plotting on how to destroy Tails... And potentially even Sonic.

The metal door swings in and inside walks Gerald Robotnik holding an iPad in his hand.

"You can generate a lot of power for a measly creature such as yourself. We ran some tests on your cells and found some pretty interesting things. Like for one, your regenerative capabilities are impressive. You fought that battle in London pretty well, a shame you didn't get the results you were looking for... Otherwise this would be a whole different story-"

"Choose your words carefully doc" Shadow says.

Robotnik uses a shock stick to electrocute Shadow, the black hedgehog does well to suppress his screams of pain as he jabs and shocks him with the stick repeatedly, when he's done Shadow coughs and spits out the blood almost on Gerald's shoes.

"I believe it is you who should be choosing their words carefully" Robotnik responds.

Shadow squeezes his fists tightly.

"Need I remind you, you lost to that fox because you underestimated him? Ultimate life form? More like ultimate sham... Ultimate shame... Anyway, I'm looking forward to having you as my test subject tomorrow"

Robotnik exits the room and the door closes behind him and locks. Shadow growls loudly and squeezes his fist tighter, steam slowly come from his fist as he tries to rotate his wrist so he can melt the chain, and it looks like he had been doing that for a while because the chain looked like it could give way at any point.

"You may have won last time fox, but you definitely won't win this time, I'll make sure of that"
