The stars are out in the sky, the sounds of the night are plentiful. Everyone at the base is sleeping peacefully, everyone except for a certain blue hedgehog that is. Sonic can't sleep, since he discovered that he really liked Tails more then he thought he began to get nervous. His biggest concern was looking like a jerk or a loser in front of him.

Before he can make another attempt he notices something in the dark peaking inside his room.

"Who's there!" He says.

The black shadow hides behind the door, it doesn't take long for Sonic to guess who that was at the door, he laughs to himself and gets up from the bed so he can swing the door open. Standing there holding a tray with sweet smelling tea and two cups was Tails.

"You don't gotta creep like that ya know"

"Sorry... It looked like you were trying to rest" Tails says.

"It's cool, I'm having trouble sleeping anyway. I don't know why" Sonic says.

"Yeah, I thought that might be the case so I got Shadow to tell me how to make that tea that helped you earlier" Tails responds.

"Wow... Thanks buddy" Sonic says, taking the tray from Tails.

"Well, good night..." Tails says nervously.

"Night!" Sonic says.

Tails moans to himself as he walks back to his room, Sonic is about to step back in again but then he stops and sighs. He looks back at Tails who looks somewhat disappointed as he walks back to his room, he was hoping Sonic would let him into his room so he could hang out but he knew how much Sonic loved his beauty sleep so he didn't bother. However...

"Tails!" Sonic shouts.

His ears perk up and he looks at Sonic with anticipation in his eyes.

"...Wanna play some video games?" Sonic says with a lazy grin on his face.

An excited smile appears on Tails face and he dashes over to Sonic. Cream watches from a corner as Sonic lets Tails into his room, Sonic sees Cream and gives her a friendly wave, she waves back and then Sonic closes the door. The little rabbit decides to retreat for now back to her room.

Once him and Tails are situated, Sonic turns on the FPS game he got from Jet and Wave while he was in the hospital. Him and Tails scream, laugh, and hit each other around all night.

"No!" Sonic shouts.

"Yes! Victory!"

"You're lucky I ran out of grenades!"

"It's not my fault you kept using them all..." Tails teases.

"It's not my fault! That Endo_Gamer guy was on my ass!"

"You were still kicking his ass around! That's a terrible excuse... And you're a terrible liar~"

Tails sticks his tongue out at him and laughs some more making the hedgehog even more moody. Sonic jumps on Tails in a fit of irritation, knocking him over onto his back, then he gasps when he realises what he's done. Tails face floods persimmon as he looks up into Sonic's green eyes, he looks down at the fox's azure coloured ones, they remind him of gems.

Sonic moves closer to Tails, his heart beating out of his chest, Tails is laying there waiting for Sonic to make a move. Sonic gently kisses him on the lips. Tails kisses him back licking the inside of his mouth, his chest feels tender, likewise with Sonic's, neither one of them could get enough of how the other tasted.

Sonic picks Tails up and drops him on his bed before continuing to smooch him up. Tails never felt so good, it felt right for him to be able to kiss Sonic, it felt right to be kissed up by him, he wanted more of it, more flames of passion to grow his love for Sonic like an inferno.

They both continue to roll around on the bed kissing passionately and vigorously... Then the door swings open and they immediately scramble away from each other. Sonic falls on the floor hitting his face, Tails lands on his back sitting up as quickly as he can, Sonic is sitting criss cross and looking up at the guest standing in his doorway... Cream.

"Sonic... What are you doing with Tails?"

"We're just playing some video games Cream!" Tails says.

"Yep, neither of us can sleep so we're just messing around on Battlezone! Nothing too bad!" Sonic says with a toothy smile.

"Somehow I have the feeling you're not being honest" Cream says... There's a hint of seriousness in her voice.

"Really Cream... We're just playing Battlezone, that's it... Nothing else..." Tails responds.

"Okay..."

The boys start to relax, but just before they could completely recover...

"Hey Sonic... Have you been dating Tails...?"

Sonic's face turns into a strawberry, Tails takes a deep breath, he's starting to lose his patience with Cream.

"What?! No! Me and Tails aren't like that! I mean I care about him a ton... But I don't think I'd ever kiss him!" Sonic says.

"Sure..." Cream responds, her tone of voice now has a threatening aura.

Sonic gulps, Tails who's holding a controller in his hand squeezes it, it starts to crack, he wanted her to go away so he could get back to spending time with Sonic and that's eventually what she did. She looks back at Tails who's face shifts back to the up to no good smile he had on earlied, then she leaves closing the door behind her, her footsteps fade away as Sonic goes over to Tails and embraces him.

"Close call huh?" Tails says.

"Uh huh..."

The blue hedgehog lets out a loud yawn and snacks his lips.

Sonic lets go of Tails and plops down on a bean bag by the wall. Tails sees he's tired so he decides to take a blanket from off his bed and cover him with it. Before he can leave, Sonic grabs him by the hand, Tails yips and turns around, Sonic gestures for him to climb in, without hesitation Tails climbs under the blanket with him and looks at Sonic with a loving grin. Sonic rests his head on his shoulder and slowly closes his eyes.

"G'night buddy"

When morning finally came, both of them slowly opened their eyes. Sonic yawns loudly and stretches his arms, Tails wipes his eyes and looks up at Sonic, he looks down at Tails. The two stare into each other for a moment and then they move closer, the same firey passion burning in their chests.

The door swings open and immediately they scurry away from each other like frighened cats... It's Silver and he looks annoyed.

"Dude can you knock!" Sonic shouts.

"Knuckles is getting impatient... Can you come cook breakfast before he starts losing his temper even more?" Silver asks.

Sonic grumbles and looks back at Tails who's sitting on the bed. Tails nods and the hedgehog dashes to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone. Silver looks at Tails for a moment and then follows Sonic to the kitchen. Not too long after they're gone, he stands up and walks to his room so he can write in his diary, he unlocks it and starts writing in it...

Since yesterday, things between me and Sonic have kinda taken a weird turn. But this gives me a lot of hope though. Last night I had so much fun with him playing video games and making out with him, it's as if my dreams are coming true! He's been feeling weird around me though, so I can't be too confident. For all I know it could be one of his weird phases of his when it comes to all those hormones and stuff flowing in his bloodstream-

There's a knock at the door, Sonic has a plate of food for Tails. Waffles with some fresh fruit on the side, Tails closes his diary and goes to take the plate from Sonic.

"Saved you some extra if you want any..."

"Thanks!" Tails says.

"No prob... Enjoy!" Sonic says with a wink.

Then he goes back to the kitchen to eat his food. Tails sits at his desk and chows down on Sonic's food. When he tastes the waffles he picks up a familiar flavour... Mint Filling! He feels his mouth water up so he continues to eat it more, the sweet, cold feeling in his mouth was one he'd never forget... He loved the food so much he knew he had to go back for more.

"I love him so much!" Tails shouts with excitement and energy in his voice.

When he's done he dashes to the kitchen passed Cream who's just emerging from her room, she notices Tails holding the empty plate and when she does she squeezes her fist. Tails bursts into the kitchen with a happy grin on his face.

"Someone's happy..." Blaze says, she's happy to see Tails in such a good mood.

"Sonic! Those were awesome! Can I have more?!"

Sonic lets out a laugh, "Of course!"

"Yes!" Tails shouts.

Tails shows him his plate and Sonic gives him a other stack of waffles for him to enjoy. Tails jumps around excitedly and then sits at the table with the others so he can enjoy his food. Cream and Cheese arrive, Cream was hoping to be able to sit next to Tails like she usually would but today he was sitting next to Sonic and Blaze who was enjoying her tea and newspaper.

It makes her heart scrunch up because she enjoyed being around Tails and talking to him every morning. She sits next to Knuckles whos gobbling down his fourth serving of waffles and Espio who's looking at his phone while eating his food. Vector notices her mood and asks if she's okay

"Hey Cream, what's wrong?"

"Nothing... I just really wanted to sit with Tails" Cream responds, trying to reassure her friend she's ok.

"You can alway talk with me if ya want kid" Vector says patting her head.

She manages a smile, "Thanks"

He shoots one her way as well and then goes to put his plate away. She looks over at Tails who's being given head pats by Sonic and the fox seemed to enjoy them quite a lot, it makes her frown so to take her mind off of it she starts to eat her food.

Later, Cream knocks on Tails door. She wants to take him out on a day into the city for some fun... However...

"Sorry Cream... Me and Sonic are gonna be traveling to Cloudpuff City today. Maybe another time"

"But-"

"I know... I sorta forgot. Once again, so sorry-"

"Tails..."

Tails picks up his bag and dashes out of his room so he can meet the blue hedgehog at the door. Cream annoyed runs off to her room and slams the door, Tails hears this turns and turns around revealing a sadistic grin.

"Stupid bitch" He says to himself.

"What?" Sonic says, trying to find out what Tails said.

"Stupid me! I forgot my diary!" Tails says, his face switches to cute friendly fox in an instant.

Sonic dashes to his room grabs it and gives it to him, sporting a warm smile. Tails blushes intensely as he takes the book from Sonic's hands. Sonic kisses him on the cheek making Tails laugh and giggle.

"Ready?" Sonic says.

"Mhm" Tails goes.

Sonic scoops him up in his arms, Tails holds on tightly, wrapping his arms around his chest and back, Sonic notices but doesn't seem to mind, soon he's off running with Tails in his arms. Cream watches from a window as the cloud of dust Sonic kicked up slowly evaporates and then she continues to muffle her wailing and sobbing by smashing her face back into her pillow while Cheese is there trying to comfort her.

While Sonic runs on the road he begins to think about stopping all the mushy stuff he's been doing with Tails... After all, he wasn't sure of his feelings for him and he just needed some time to gather himself up, but he didn't want to tell Tails just yet, after all he had seen a significant shift in his mood. He had taken notice of how much more happier Tails had been since what happened a couple of days ago, and he loved seeing him smile his bright little smile... It made fireworks go off in his chest, in his head, when he thought of it.

"Sonic...? Is something wrong?" Tails asks looking up at him.

"N-No, I'm alright"

"You sure? You can talk to me about anything that's bothering you" Tails says.

"I'm okay Tails, really, I am"

"Okay... If you say so"

Tails begins to grow concerned about his blue love, wondering if what they had started doing together was worrying Sonic or making him uncomfortable.

I knew I should have waited...

One hour later, they arrive at Cloudpuff City. It was said being there was like being in heaven, it was clean, lively, it had different types of buildings ranging from Victorian style to more modern homes. The city centre unlike at Nightstar City was quiet and only the sound of the occasional motor vehicle passing by could be heard. Sonic is impressed with it.

"So you helped designed this...?" Sonic asks.

"Mhm, besides Nightstar City, it's one of my favourites" Tails responds.

Sonic eventually arrives at the hotel where they'd be staying for the night and sets Tails down.

"Sonic! Tails!" A familiar voice calls.

They both turn around and there stands Vanilla in a fancy cream coloured outfit waving at them.

"Vanilla! Long time no see!" Sonic says.

"Sonic! It's great to see you're back to your usual self" Vanilla says.

She stops in front of them and takes something out of her bag. It's a brand new phone!

"Here you go!" Vanilla says giving it to Tails.

"Thanks" Tails says taking it from her.

"No problem! Come in I'll help you both check in" She says gesturing for them to come inside.

"Wow, you work here?" Sonic asks.

"Of course I do... It is my hotel after all-" Vanilla responds with a wink.

"Oh" Sonic responds, feeling kind of awkward for saying that.

Once they've checked in, Vanilla takes them to their room on the seventeenth floor of the building via the lift. While they're walking Sonic can't help but stare at the fancy fixtures on the walls or on the cieling, the hallway carpet feels so soft on his feet it was as if he was walking on clouds. Eventually they get to their room, Room 1717. It's a grand suite with an amazing view of the city, when Sonic sees the room he's both impressed and confused.

"Thanks for letting us stay here Vanilla!" Tails says.

"No problem! If you need me don't hesitate to come to my office! Now I have to run because I'm hosting a companies event downstairs, see you later!" Vanilla says slowly backing up so she can walk towards the elevator.

"Bye!" Sonic and Tails say as the wave at her.

Once Vanilla is gone, Sonic drops his bag by the door so he can have a gander at the fancy suite. Tails closes the door and sets the room keys on one of the tables.

"How much was this?" Sonic asks, sounding a bit overwhelmed.

"6,700 Units!" Tails says with a thumbs up.

Sonic starts sweating nervously. He could only assume Tails burnt all that money to make him happy.

"Vanilla gave me a bit of a discount since I helped her design the lobby. It's kinda like that one we saw when we were on Earth!"

Sonic remembers what he's talking about, when they were running out the building they landed on top of to avoid getting caught by the humans.

"Uh huh... So uh how much was it originally...?"

"Uhhhhh... 9,530 units..." Tails answers hesitantly.

Sonic's mouth drops open, "That's a hell of a discount..."

"Yeah..."

Tails goes up to Sonic takes him by the hand so he can walk him over to the window. Sonic wants to let go but the fox's soft hands felt nice to touch despite being gloved.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Tails says, still holding Sonic's hand.

"Y-Yeah... It looks great" Sonic goes.

"If we're only here for a week, why are we staying in this place? And why do I gotta be here?"

"I told you Sonic... I want to rehearse my presentation and you're crucial to it!" Tails says, "Besides, you've been the source of my happiness lately, and well... You really make me happy"

His friends kind words make Sonic's face warm, he looks away from Tails to hide his deep red blush, "Uh-Uh huh"

Tails releases Sonic's hand and goes to his bag and takes out a series of parts, bolts, and all sorts of other stuff. Sonic watches as Tails puts together the machine. Hours later when it's done Tails steps back. Sonic is impressed by what Tails had built... A large silver ring with all sorts of computers attached to it.

Sonic instantly recognises what Tails constructed, a large interdimensional portal, even more impressive then the very first one Tails built. Tails looks back at Sonic who's looking up at it in amazement.

"I've never seen you build something this complex before... You're growing smarter everyday! And honestly, I couldn't be more proud... And so excited! This'll definitely win!"

Sonic's encouraging comments make the little fox excited, it builds up like a volcano and his excitement boils over.

"It's you!" Tails shouts while blushing.

Sonic is taken back by his sudden outburst.

"... You... You're my motivation Sonic. I want to make you proud! I wanna make you happy!" Tails says.

"Tails... I-"

"Part of the reason I spend so much time improving my inventions is because your support drives me to soar higher... And I can't thank you enough for it"

Sonic's brain and chest are firing fireworks yet again, a smile appears on his face and he dashes over to Tails so he can hug him. Tails is taken back by this but he lets out a laugh while hugging him back.

"I'm so glad I met you" Sonic says, he's fighting back tears because of how happy he made him.

"I'm happy I met you too"

The hug persists for a while because neither one of them want to let go of eachother, Sonic gently rubs his orange little brothers head while Tails rests his blushing face on his chest again. This time he wasn't panicking... Because he knew exactly how he felt about Tails.

Meanwhile from a building across the city, a pair of binoculars is set down on a table... The black figure stands up and goes to the window, light shining down on her face... It's Amy, and her blood is boiling...

"You took everything from me... Now I'm going to take everything from you... Two tailed little shit"

Meanwhile, Cream and Cheese arrived at the hotel carrying a bag. Her mother who's at the reception desk stands up when she sees Cream.

"Cream! What are you doing here?!" Vanilla shouts.

"Sorry mother, I just wanted a vacation..."

Vanilla grumbles, indicating that it wasn't the first time Cream had showed up without calling or booking a room, "Next time, just call me"

"I will" Cream replies.

"Sit down, I'll find you a room"

Vanilla sends her daughter to room 1659 which was a decent sized room with a bed and some fancy fixtures and tidbits. Cream opens her bag and takes out her clothes, underneath her clothes is an M9 and a kitchen knife. She examines the gun and then puts it back in her bag. Cheese is concerned obviously not wanting Cream to carry out what she was planning to do.

"Don't worry Cheese, I'm not here to hurt Tails... I'm here to get rid of that animal he calls a brother" Cream says, displaying her signature friendly grin.

This doesn't make Cheese any less anxious however.

Amy sees Cream in the hotel room and groans, "Could this get any worse..."

Cream is watching on a hacked security feed as Amy paces around the room she's made camp in, "Looks like Amy's here to play too... Isn't this a treat?"

Sonic and Tails rehearse their lines all night for the first day of tomorrow's festivities. Sonic does drive Tails a little batty but the fox doesn't care much since it's what Sonic does. When they're done Sonic goes into his room within the suite and yawns audibly.

"G'night Tails..." Sonic says.

"Night Sonic" Tails responds.

Sonic closes the door and plops onto his bed. While Tails lays in bed, he thinks about the warm moment he had with Sonic not long ago. He was happy he got to say all that to him, he wanted Sonic to know he was loved by him... Just not in love with him... At least not yet.

He rolls and squirms around excitedly on the bed when he thinks about Sonic suddenly hugging him like that.

Sonic lays awake looking at pictures of him and Tails together. Then there's one that gets his heart going, one of him sitting on a sandy beach watching the sun set. He smiles at the picture and zooms then scrolls to the next one which is when Tails saw him photographing him, on the next one Tails was jumping at Sonic about to snatch his phone, remembering that chuckle worthy incident, he laughs... His laughter dies down and he lets out an exasperated sigh.

"I love you Tails..." He says.

He turns off his phone and pulls the cover over him so he can sleep.

When the sun rises, both of them are up and ready to start their day. They both dash to the lift and laugh like children, when the doors open they both step on still laughing around with each other. When they both get to the breakfast buffet they decided to choose food for eachother. Tails made a breakfast chillidog out of a sausage, a hero roll and some spicy sauce.

"Mmm, this is good! My turn!"

Sonic comes back with a stack of pancakes, an apple, some orange juice and a few special candies for Tails.

"Not bad!" Tails says.

"Try the pancakes" Sonic says with a cocky grin.

Tails does indeed try them and is surprised by the mint flavour attacking his tongue. He sits up and jump around excitedly. Sonic shows Tails a bottle with his signature mint syrup.

"Made just for you!" Sonic says.

"Thank you Sonic!" Tails responds, almost as snappy as Sonic's running.

"For you?... Anything!" Sonic says giving him a thumbs up.

Later after breakfast they both pass by Cream who they have no clue is here, they go passed her to the lifts so they can go back to their room. Cream gets her food and sits down at a table, she takes a fork full of salad and puts it in her mouth. She hears the sound a chair being pulled and looks up to see Amy sitting down, the hedgehog wearing a sun hat to hide her face from the occupants of the breakfast hall.

"I was beginning to think you wouldn't show" Cream says.

"Yeah, well I'm not going to let you kill Sonic" Amy says.

Creams tone immediately changes to threatening, "You must be just as insane if you think I'll let you kill Tails"

"That little faggot is screwing around with Sonic... My Sonic. The longer he breathes, the more Sonic falls victim to his spell... His sick, vile, disgusting spell"

Cream smashes her knife into the wooden table, and looks up at Amy with raging fury in her brown eyes, "Don't you dare talk about Tails like that"

"Sure..."

Then she realises why Cream is here, it makes her squeeze her fist. A smirk forms on Creams face when she realises Amy knows the purpose of her "vacation"...

"If you hurt Sonic-"

"All he does is grab Tails attention. He barely hangs out with me, he doesn't talk with me for long, he barely pays attention to me, everything he does is all for Sonic... And I've grown tired of it. I want him to focus on me... I want him to hug me, kiss me, take me out on a date, love me... Me only. So yes, I am here here to kill Sonic"

Amy can feel her face boiling, Cream looks up at her, the evil thoughts are dancing around in her eyes. Amy looks downwards at the little smirking rabbit and reaches under her coat for her pistol.

"Ah ah ah... This room has tons of CCTV cameras, the police will find you in a matter of hours, assuming you escaped not too long ago..." Cream responds, "But don't worry Amy..."

She reaches under her blouse and shows her own little pocket pistol to Amy, prompting the pink hedgehog to snarl at her.

"... We'll have plenty to time at our little play date later - Plenty of time"

"I will stop you, and if you touch Sonic. I'll send Tails chopped up corpse to your door, no need to worry about not getting it, because it'll be first class air" Amy growls.

"And if you lay a finger on Tails, you'll get a box with Sonic's mutilated body inside, then you can dickride him as much as you want" Cream fires back, looking up at Amy with a sinister grin on her face.

"Back off"

"Please... You first"

"Tch" Amy goes, then she gets up and walks off.

Cream continues to enjoy her salad as she watches Amy walk out of the breakfast hall. She pulls the knife out of the table and puts it neatly alongside the other utensils.

Sonic and Tails are upstairs singing songs with eachother to pass the time until it was time for Tails to have his innovation expo. Sonic puts on a song and they both sing together.

When the song is done Tails presses his lips on Sonic's making him jump back a bit, when he's done he giggles and steps back from him.

"That was fun!" Tails shouts.

"Y-Yeah..." Sonic goes, still trying to process the kiss he received from Tails.

Sonic goes to his phone and when he gets to it he notices a red dot in the corner of his phone screen and taps on it, he recorded him and Tails dancing and singing together so he could post it on his social media page but now he didn't really feel comfortable doing it since Tails planted a kiss on his lips.

"Shows starting in ten minutes! You getting ready?!" Tails shouts from his room.

"Yeah!" Sonic shouts from his room.

Sonic comes out wearing a fancy black suit and a tie. Tails comes out with a white suit and blue bow tie. Sonic stares at Tails really admiring his choice of style... But the one thing he couldn't get his eye off of was the blue bow tie.

"Why did you choose the blue bow tie?" Sonic asks.

"I'll let you figure that out..." Tails teases.

"S-So your really gonna play that game with me?" Sonic says, looking down at the floor.

Sonic finds a Tails pin in his bag and attaches it to his tie, then he presents himself to Tails with a smirk and slight blush, Tails immediately notices the pin on his tie and turns away from Sonic.

"N-No fair!"

Sonic snickers a bit and he puts his hand on Tails head.

"Come on! Let's go knock their socks off!" Sonic says, amped to see Tails take home the trophy and prize money.

The two take the lift to the lobby and then walk into a large presentation room. Inside it's bustling. Inventors from all over the world came to showcase their work, their life, their dreams, all while wearing fancy clothes. Tails isn't worried however, with Sonic by his side, he knows he'll do well.

"So what are the rules?"

"Well, each day you have present one invention of yours, it can be anything! There are five slots for five inventions or creations. The judges will watch your presentation and your score is based on what aspects they believe are quirky or that can actually help in everyday life or drive society forward! "You may think that but wait until you see who's judging us. From what I've heard they're pretty brutal" Tails says sounding unsure.
