Thad Harwood was sitting at his computer on a Saturday night. He shared an apartment with his best friend from Dalton Academy. Sebastian Smythe.

He and Sebastian were like brothers. They shared a lot in common. Which included the love for the same woman. Rachel Berry.



Thad had a crush on her from afar long ago, and it never really went away. She and Thad had become best friends. Thad, unfortunately, loved her beyond friendship. And forever stuck in the Friend zone.

Thad sat at the computer working on lyrics to a new song he had been working on. Rachel was his muse, his inspiration.

Thad got on his Instagram and decided to pull a Rachel Berry and video him singing this song. He honestly didn't care if Rachel or anyone heard this. They wouldn't know it was for HER.

Thad turned on his webcam, logged into his account, and took a deep breath.

While Thad finished the song, he looked at a photo he took with Rachel over the summer.

He was lost in thought, and didn't realize his best friend was standing in the doorway, staring.

"Something you want to tell me buddy?"

Thad froze. Slowly he turned. He was screwed.

"Sebastian..."

Sebastian shook his head and walked out of the room.

Thad heard Sebastian's door slammed.

Thad looked at Rachel's photo.

One day babe..one day you will be my future... Thad said softly.
