As I picked up my pace, I could feel the excitement rising in my chest like a expanding bubble, threatening to burst any moment. I felt seven years old again, like I was getting ready for my first sleepover at a new friends house. I had to keep myself from running, and eventually after what felt like forever, I got there.

Unsurprisingly, I was there before my friend Yoongi. He was coming from work, so he had said that he might be a few minutes late.

I didnt want to wait outside the door for him like an idiot, so I gulped down the last of my coffee, the residual heat burning my throat on its way down, stuffed my flask in my bag, and headed into the apartment lobby.

It was even fancier than I expected, with a reception counter and a doorman and everything. Tastefully decorated, it had a woodsy feel, big glass windows, and lots of plants in the corners.

Lots of light, but I liked how the wooden floor made it feel a bit homely and warm. My kind of place.

I headed over to the reception, where a small elderly lady was sitting she smiled up at me and asked who I had come to visit. As I opened my mouth to answer, I felt a hand on press down on my shoulder.

"Yoongi!" I exclaimed, turning around to face my friend.

I hadn't seen him in a few weeks, but it seemed like much longer. His hair had grown out a little shaggier, covering his eyelashes completely, and his slightly serious looking face was warmer than ever, with a tiny smile and a small shine in his eyes.

I knew perfectly well that deep down in there was a fluffy child with a gummy smile, but I figured that Yoongi would need some time to transition from being an exemplary employee to one of my...slightly crazed friends.

"Y/n, great to see you," he greeted me politely, as if I was a client he was on a sales call with. "Min Yoongi, for Kim Namjoon," he said sweetly to the lady at the counter, who smiled and pointed towards the elevators.

"Floor seven."

We walked toward the elevators in silence, but it was relaxed. Neither of us felt any pressure to say anything. I mostly occupied myself looking at the decor while Yoongi, who had been here before, led the way to the elevators.

The elevator doors slid open and we walked in. I punched the number 7 with my fist and turned to look at Yoongi.

It slid upwards smoothly and I resisted the urge to jump, because its just so much fun to jump in the elevator. ( A/N For those of you who haven't tried it you have to- although its supposed to be bad and unsafe and stuff. So maybe not, then.) He made polite conversation as we went up, about my brother and my new training program I was attending.

The seventh floor had three flats, and the hallway was designed in a way that had me thinking of a hotel, with its dim lighting and carpeting. The apartment belonging to Namjoon and Jin was at the far end of the hallway. I followed Yoongi there, excited. I hadn't seen Jin in forever, and I hadn't been to their apartment yet.

Yoongi knocked on the door twice, and it swung open, revealing a smiling Seokjin.

"Y/n!"

"Jin!"

"Y/n!"

"Jin!"

I grinned, walking forward tentatively. "Oh come on!" He said, grabbing me in his arms for a big hug. I couldn't help but smile. I loved his energy, and he was sometimes such a mood. He was my friend who acted the most like my mom, and never failed to take care of me.

I fondly thought of the time a few years ago when he had taken care of me when I was sick, staying alone in my aunt and uncle's house as they were traveling for a few days during my holiday from university.

I had come down with a horrible kind of stomach bug which left me exhausted and weak for a long time even after I recovered, and I was all alone in the country, as my brother was in the United States and so were my parents.

My saviour at the time was Jin, who came to visit every day, making sure I was eating and resting enough to recover. He took care of me like my mother would, not even getting bothered by the fact that I was literally barfing my guts out in the toilet when he came home one day.

Even my brother wouldn't do that, he would be too grossed out. My dad, maybe? Not sure. I know I wouldn't do that for sure, because seeing other people sick makes me sick...

Jin released me, and I saw Namjoon behind him. I engulfed him in a quick hug before beginning to look around, while Yoongi greeeted the other boys.

The apartment was of an average size, with a large window on taking the place of the wall opposite to the door.

It was weird in a way, because rather than being squareish it was very narrow from the door to the opposite side but very large from my left to my right. Next to the window was a TV and in front of it a couch and a beanbag, on a cute little rug on the floor.

To my right was a potted plant, adding more life to the place, and past that and a bookshelf was a door to a bedroom, left slightly ajar.

I guessed it was Namjoon's because I recognised his desktop computer and all his little figurines neatly lined up on his desk. All the way to my left was Jin's room, next to which there was a little balcony with a couple of planters hanging from the rails.

Between myself and the balcony was the kitchen, which was already my favourite part of the place. It was nothing very modern, rather more like something that fit in well with my childhood.

It was simple, only two counters with shelves lining them. I spotted a little ramen cooker that I had gifted Jin last year for Christmas when we played secret Santa on the counter, and smiled.

I loved this apartment already, not just because of the decor and the view and the prime location, but because I could see myself making so many beautiful memories here, and I could tell that Namjoon and Jin would do the same too.

"So, y/n, how do you like the apartment?" Namjoon asked me.

"You kidding? I love it."

I took off my shoes at the doorway and walked over to the window check out the view that they had from there. The floor wasn't very high, so it wasn't like there was a skyline view or something, but it was quite nice all the same.

I could see the cars in the street down below, and the dim gray lighting of the cloudy day made the red lights on them seem unusually bright. Yoongi sank into the bean bag behind me and started up a conversation with Namjoon while Jin started making some ramyeon.

After a minute or so I joined the conversation, followed by Jin, who later brought us all some piping hot ramyeon, which we polished off in minutes. The four of us sat together, laughing and chatting, watching the dim light of the cloudy evening fade until it was dark outside.

Well past nightfall, Yoongi got up and said that he needed to head home, and since I was going with him I gathered my things and said bye to Namjoon and Jin.

"Come tomorrow?" Jin asked me. Jungkook and Hoseok said they're coming and even Jimin said he might. We're thinking of going out. It's been weeks since we've all met, and months since you've even been free."

"I'll see, Seokjin," I replied. "Depending on what time my supervisor plans to let us out."

"Sure, just tell me whenever, I'll tell you where we go."

"Great. I'll see you guys then, maybe."

I pulled both Jin and Namjoon into one last hug and headed out with Yoongi.

With anyone else I would have been uncomfortable, alone with a guy an area I didn't know (or anywhere for that matter) at night, but I felt okay with Yoongi. I would obviously have preferred my brother, or any of my girlfriends, but Yoongi had a comforting presence that made me feel safe.

The drive home was quiet and uneventful, and I began dozing off after a couple of minutes. Yoongi shook me awake gently when we reached my new apartment building, and I thanked him quickly before grabbing my bag and heading out.

"See you"

"Bye"

I trudged up the three flights of stairs to get to my temporary serviced apartment- still filling up with my boxes from my old apartment. I wasn't really planning to unpack anything here, since I was only going to stay here for a month.

The place was small and simple, already furnished with a bed, a couch and some basic appliances in the kitchen. I had put in one potted plant in the corner to give the place some life, but it was already starting to wilt because of the lack of light in that corner.

Dropping my bag on the floor, I shifted the pot over to the window so it would get some more light in the morning, and headed to the bathroom.

After taking a quick shower, brushing my teeth, and washing my face one more time, I crawled into bed.

I was about to fall asleep when I got a text from my brother.
