Radhika was cursing herself for all the miseries in Arjun’s life. She wanted to kill herself for giving him pain after knowing the fact that he loved her. But her life was not hers to end.

She clutched the blanked tightly and covering her mouth with her palm to muffle her painful moans. Radhika  had seen many horrible things in life at a very tender age. Destiny had never shown any mercy on her.

Life had always been difficult for her. At some point of time we get scared of loosing the least happiness we have in our life but Radhika had lost everything to her fate.

Suddenly she got up with a jerk and marched to the idol of Krishna placed in one corner of her bedroom.

She got on her knees pushing all her tender weight on them. Crying bitterly and cursing herself was the only thing left with her to do.

She folded her hands and sobbed between her tears,"Why always this has to happen with me?Krishna I lost everything still I never stopped believing in you. Tomorrow I have to do such a lowly deed to a person who loves me from the bottom of his heart and you just keep quiet. Krishna all this years I had the satisfaction that I am a good hearted person but today you snatched that also from me. I don’t want to do this to Arjun sir. I wish I could tell Arjun sir that I am his destruction and he should stay away from me. I wish I could tell him that I am the major part of the plan which z made to destroy him completely. I can’t even tell him the truth. Sam z right. I am a bad omen.  my mere shadow cast people in darkness. Arjun sir I m sorry."

She sobbed hiding her face in her knees. poor girl cried whole night.

Sometimes we have to do such things which we can’t think about doing even in our dreams this z the time when God z testing us…..just remember in such times never lose hope and your faith in him because we all are his children and he has a better plan for all us….

BIRDSONG

Radhika entered the office rubbing her palms to keep calm.

Today was a big day. She had to execute the horrible plan anyhow. today she had to hurt arjun anyhow otherwise she would face the consequences.

her stream of thoughts broke when neetu greeted her

Neetu,"Hii radhika."

Radhika,"Hii"

Neetu,"what’s wrong?you look tensed."

Wiping her sweaty forehead Radhika replied,"Nothing. I just have a headache."

Neetu,"Take a off for the day. I am sure Arjun sir won’t refuse you."

Radhika,"naah I am fine…I will take one painkiller."

Caressing her friend’s cheek she assured her that she was fine.

Just then her attention got shifted towards the entrance when she saw arjun entering inside.

Her angelic face got covered with guilt. A big guilt to hurt him even after knowing that he loved her. She was not able to meet his eyes today.

Lowering her gaze and fighting back her tears she mumbled to herself," No Radhika be strong. you have
to do this."

Arjun walked towards her desk and greeted her with a smile,"radhika can you join me for a coffee today."

Avoiding his gaze she answered,"Sir I have to leave before 5:30."

Arjun was surprised. She was not looking at him at all. He lifted her chin by his fingers and pleaded her to look in his eyes.

As usual he got lost in her big brown eyes which had dark secrets troubling her every moment.

Arjun,"Are you fine Radhika?"

She just distanced herself from him and replied,"I am fine sir."

Arjun,"please don’t say no for the coffee. it z just a coffee nothing else. I will drop you home before 5:30….promise."

She thought for a while and answered,"OK sir."

His face lit up like a Christmas tree fter hearing her positive answer.

He thanked her and strode towards his cabin.

She was again guilt stricken after this conversation with him….

In the nick of time her phone buzzed and she hurriedly marched towards a dark corner to answer the call.

Mystery Man,"Why you took so much time to answer my call?"

Radhika in a trembling voice,"I am sorry."

Mystery Man,"I don’t have time for your apologies. Get that clear don’t waste my time. my car z waiting down. Come fast….need to discuss the plan again."

Radhika,"Why we have to do this?Can’t we just end the matter once and for all?!"

Mystery Man in a angry voice," Don’t advice me. this matter will end the day I see Arjun Mehra begging for death. stop your melodrama and come down fast otherwise. you know it,don’t you?"

Radhika,"No please you will not do that. I am coming."

She disconnected the call and took long strides towards the elevator only to find it under construction.

She marched towards the staircase and tiptoed down in about 4 mins.

Once inside his car he offered her a bottle of water seeing her huffing and puffing.

She gulped it down in haste trying to relax her body.

Radhika with tears in her eyes,"I don’t want to do this. He loves and believes me please end this."

He clutched her jaw tightly piercing his nails in her cheeks he growled," I did not ask your opinion. How many times do I have to tell you that he z bad man?!"

Radhika,"So what you are?!"

Mystery Man,"I agree I am bad but what I am today that z only because of him. I lost happiness even he should lose his. I don’t have any time for your drama Radhika. I can never hurt you for my revenge but don’t test my patience. I can hurt anyone who comes between me and my revenge. you know it,don’t you?so stop behaving like a 5 year old girl who z confused all the time and do as I say."

He loosened his grip and touched her cheeks,"I am sorry but you make me do this. now go and carry out the plan."

Radhika nodded to his command and left him alone.

Sometimes we jump to conclusion even before investigating the whole matter…..even the coin has two sides…..sometimes it z not necessary that things which we see define truth….maybe there z something which we missed…. Even the best turns into worst for revenge….

Radhika entered the office and glanced towards Arjun’s cabin.

Radhika POV,"I am sorry sir but I am helpless. I wish you would have hated me instead of loving me deeply then you would have been saved from all this."

She took out a pen drive and called someone.

After a matter of hours, Arjun was the talk of every house. Everyone discussed only one topic and that was Arjun. mystery man’s plan was successful. He had destroyed arjun’s image but Arjun was not even aware of it.

Arjun checked his watch and marched out of his cabin to reach his ladylove but just then he heard someone saying that Arjun Sir  z defamed infront of everyone today only because of that girl. It z universal truth that women z the reason for man’s miseries. If he had not thrashed sujoy to death that day then this mess would have not happened.

Arjun glared angrily at that man and clutched his collar tight enough to suffocate him.

Arjun,"How dare you sumit?How dare you say anything about radhika? Only cheap people like you can have such a low mentality. a real man z someone who protects women’s dignity."

Sumit tried to free from Arjun’s hold but he was no match to Arjun’s strength.

Sumit,"Sir not only me today everyone z talking about you….I advice you to switch on the TV before thrashing me."

Arjun was stunned by his reply. He pushed sumit away and marched towards his cabin to switch on the LCD in his cabin.

The sight before him shook him from inside. Media had made a big thing out of the small incident. He was sure of the fact that he had not thrashed Sujoy to death but he was not able to control his chagrin when sujoy touched his Radhika, gazed at her with lust but he did not kill Sujoy his was truth.

Arjun could find nothing but darkness….everything was over in just one moment…..his career,his image,his career everything came down with a thud….he got on his knees sobbing silently.

Radhika watched him through the glass door and cursed herself for his state.

Even her helplessness could not stop her from barging in his cabin without permission where she found him crying like a innocent child who just woke up from a bad dream.

She touched his shoulder but to her surprise he clutched her waist tightly and burying his face deep in the crook of her neck he wept…

Caressing his hair with one hand and rubbing his back with other she kept consoling him….mumbling that," Everything will be fine."

even though she was not sure about her statement.

She broke the hug after a good 5 mins…..wiping his tears away by her soft fingers she whispered,"Sir you are not wrong then don’t fear anything."
He again engulfed her in a hug.

Today something was different between them….despite being helpless radhika was not able to stop herself from comforting arjun. This was not love but humanity and duty towards the person who loved her deeply.

Arjun on the other hand was relieved to have his ladylove in his arms…he was in pain but he had someone whom he loved deeply….he was sure that he could face anything when he has her but what will be his reaction after knowing that she was behind all the problems of his life?!
