ETHAN VAN RUSSELL-Here Comes the Bride...
No nerves, still no nerves. Why should he be nervous? Everything was going to be perfect. Especially after receiving that text from Donna. He could not erase the smile on his face.
"Son, proud of you," his father said to him. "I wish Bishop was here to see his little girl marrying my son."
"He would hate me like Antonio and Quinton."
"Perhaps. He would still want to see his little girl get married."
Her mother did not feel that way. He was hoping it would not take away from their day. At least Quinton was there not that he said a word to him.
When the wedding started he watched everyone enter. Antonio's little girls were adorable. Chrissy and Elayne looked so grown up in their dresses. Veronique was always fabulous, and Felicity did not look much like Donna to him. She was pretty, but there was no comparison to Donna.
Then nothing. No Donna, no Quinton.
There was an unpleasant pause. Everyone sat in uncomfortable silence. Ethan looked at Veronique as if maybe she knew anything. She shrugged at him.
He turned to Tony.
"Be cool, she'll be here."
Marty had a wicked grin on his face. His stomach started to turn.
Then he saw Quinton motioning for him at the entryway. Something was wrong. Something was very, very wrong. Did Donna have cold feet?
He walked calmly but swiftly toward Quinton. "Where is she?"
"She locked herself in the room and won't come out," Quinton said. "What the hell did you do?"
Ethan rushed toward the cottage house, swung open the door, and went up to the room where Donna should be. He tried the door but it was locked.
"Donna! Donna, are you in there? Open up!"
He heard nothing.
"Donna, sweetheart, it's okay. Cold feet, I get it, but it's going to be okay. You love me, right?"
"I hate you!"
Ethan pounded the door with his fist as hard as he could. "Don't say that! Donna, open up, what's wrong? Tell me."
"Go to hell!"
"Donna, open this damn door!"
"Go away!"
"You have to tell me what's the wrong baby, so I can make it right."
He continued to pound on the door until Quinton came up.
"Man, my sister doesn't want to talk to you. It's obvious she doesn't want to marry you. She's come to her senses and this is best," Quinton said. "I called Antonio, we're taking her home."
"The hell you are! Donna's mine. This is her home. We're getting married."
"I don't think you understand the situation," Quinton said. "If she doesn't want to walk down that aisle, there will be no wedding."
Ethan continued to bam on the door. "Donna! Donna talk to me. Talk to me, please. Whatever it is we can work it out. I love you."
"You don't love me, you bastard! You've been playing me for a fool."
"No, Donna, stop saying that."
Ethan was getting tired of this. Quinton breathing down his neck, and him not being able to see and hold Donna.
"Listen, let's just talk about this. Open the door, let me in."
"No!"
"Donna, I'm not playing with you! Open the damn door!"
"Yo, slow your roll how you talk to my sister," Quinton grabbed his and pushed him from the door.
He was fed up. He stepped to Quinton and punched him in the face. Then he kept hitting him and once he was down, he started to kick him.
"How the hell does that feel? Payback is a bitch."
The door swung open and Donna stepped out.
"Stop! Leave my brother alone!" she screamed.
Ethan stopped, turned to Donna and pushed her back into the room, and locked the door. She looked more gorgeous than he ever imagined in that stunning white dress. Her hair was flawless, her face was flawless, except for where tears streaked down her face.
"Oh Donna baby, what is it?" He held her in his arms.
Donna tried to push him away, but he kept holding her.
"Let me go! I'll scream."
"I don't care."
She screamed as loud as she could, then she started to cry, crumpling down on the floor. He got down on the floor with her.
"Donna, what is it?"
"Anita."
She did not need to say more. He knew she knew.
"Baby, I was going to tell you-"
Donna reached up and slapped him hard in the face.
"Go to hell!"
He rubbed his cheeks, and let out a sigh, He knew that would come back and bite him in the ass. Why now? Why minutes before he said, "I do."
"Baby, let me explain, I held this anger for you...your brothers, for years and I wanted to hurt you. I wanted to hurt you badly. I was trying to destroy your family and Anita was helping me. I needed an inside spy. She was willing to do the job because for whatever reason she hated your family too...I mean..."
He stopped himself and then rattled on some more. "But then...I found out about Tony, my son, our son...and when we picked up where we left off, I knew I could never hurt you. I love you too much. I ended things with Anita before we began, baby. All I need is you."
He did not know if Donna would trust him and believe in him again.
"I couldn't tell you about her because I knew you would hate me."
"I do hate you, you damn liar." Donna tried to hit him again, but he grabbed her arms. "Let me go!"
"I'm not lying to you Donna, listen to me."
"You didn't end things with Anita. You're still sleeping with her. The little whore."
"I'm not! I promise you I'm not."
"Let me go, Ethan, just let me go. You're a liar, a cheat, and my brothers were right about you. You're a user. You used me! Do you want to ruin my family? I won't let you. I'll kill you myself!"
She tried to kick him, but with her dress on, she nearly fell to the floor but Ethan caught her and they both tumbled back to the floor.
Ethan pinned her arms to the floor.
"Kill me then Donna, because if I can't have you I don't want to live."
"I'll just have my brothers do it for me, asshole!" She grabbed his face and dragged her nails down his cheek.
She stumbled back up to her feet. "You and Anita, in your little kinky sex room...last night."
"What?"
"Someone, the little whore I'm sure, sent me the video."
"No! No way!" Ethan yelled out. "I didn't. I never even brought her to my place Donna. What the fuck is going on?"
Donna held her phone up to him as the video played. It was his room, it was him and Anita. He never remembered bringing her there so this was fake.
"Donna, I didn't do this! I was not with her last night. How do you know this was last night?"
"Because she said it was last night! After your bachelor's party!"
"Donna, I swear! I don't know what's going on, but that's not me...I mean, it looks like me and that's my room, but-"
Donna threw her phone at him, and it hit him in the head.
"Go to motherfucking hell Ethan Van Russell. It's over! I'm not marrying you. I'm not that crazy."
Donna started to head out of the room but Ethan ran over to the door to stop her. This was not happening, fighting over something he did not do.
"Donna, you need to believe me, I love you, I didn't sleep with her."
"Ever or just-"
"Last night! Not since I've been with you."
"How can I believe you Ethan?" she said through tears.
"Baby...because you love me."
She shook her head. "That's not enough Ethan, it's not enough."
She opened the door and walked out.
"Donna, no, don't do this to me."
By now, a few others had made it to the house. Veronique, Chrissy, Elayne, Tony, Marty, and his father. He had nothing to say to any of them, he had to get Donna back. Quinton asked if she was okay as Antonio rushed in.
"What happened?"
"I don't need either of you to come save me!" Donna shouted. "It's over. You're happy, that's what you wanted."
Then Donna ran out of the house.
"Donna!" he yelled trying to follow her but Quinton and Tony held him back. "Let me go, I have to go get her back."
"No Dad, let her go."
"I can't!"
"Don't go all Romeo on us, slick," Quinton said with a grin. "You can find another woman to fool, but my sister is so over it."
Ethan swung at Quinton but he was too fast and Tony pushed Quinton back.
"Unc, leave my dad alone, okay. Just lay off."
"Fuck it, Tony, you stay here with these clowns," Antonio said. "That bitch ass father of yours comes anywhere near my sister it'll be the last thing he ever does."
Everyone was trying to ask what happened but he was not listening. Donna was gone. She actually left him. She did not love him anymore. She thought he would cheat on her.
"Well, like I said, it wouldn't last." Marty walked over to him with a grin on his face.
Ethan could have punched his brother, but he needed to be alone and sulk.
Hey readers!
Well, that didn't end well. Ethan and Anita, last night? Did it really happen? (and we're going to skip over the kinky sex room right now)
Can the marriage still go on? Two more episodes left for season one.
XOXO
Kimberly
