So much paper
He nodded.
"Yes, Mérida, I loved you" he said, sad smiling. "I loved you for so much time, but I felt like you didn't care. So I let you go"
Mérida looked down, feeling guilty. If she only have known that, all would be different.
"A-A don't know what ta say" she said, looking down still.
"Oh, Mer, don't worry, it's okay" Hiccup hugged her. She hugged back, inhaling his wonderful smell. "I understand the feeling"
"A know Hiccup, but now A feel bad about Astrid, A've said very bad things about her..." she added standing up, playing with her hands. It felt very bad.
"Mer, really, I know you said that without thinking. It's okay, I still want you by my side" he stood up too. He approached ver with a big smile, and played with her hair. "Always"
Mérida blushed a bit and she threw herself into Hiccup's arms, hugging him tightly, grateful.
"Ye're a wonderful friend" she said, and they separated a bit, looking in the eyes. "A'm lucky to have ye by my side"
Hiccup closed his hand and raked her hair, hiding a strand of it behind her ear.
"The same I say" they hugged again. "But, c'mon, we have an important trip to organizate! Do you wanna help me?"
Mérida's face lighted up. She felt loved again.
"Sure!"
They walked to the main table and sat down, next to each other.
"Okay, we should make a list" Hiccup said, taking a paper and a pencil, writing down 'LIST' at the top of it.
"Wow" Mérida laughed sarcastically. Hiccup smiled to her sheepishly and continue talking:
"Well, if we are leaving in two days, we may fish about four kilos, and other four of meat. Don't you think?" he said writing down all of what he was saying.
"Why ye ask me if ya're writing down in yar list wha ye want?" she chuckled a bit, removing the paper and the pencil from Hiccup. "Now, we can discuss"
Hiccup laughed laudly.
"Okay, Ms. Sassypants" he hit softly her shoulder, as she looked at him angry.
"Sassypants, ya've said?" she repeated his phrase, annoyed. Then she let go an 'innocent' punch on his shoulder, which Hiccup almost fell down to the floor and complained in pain.
"Awwww! Why have you do that?" he complained, strobbing his shoulder, trying to take away the pain caused by his reedish hair crazy-friend.
"Ye called me 'sassypants'" she answered resolutely. "Ya deserve it"
He looked at her sheepishly and settled back into the chair.
"Okay, we may continue" he pointed the list. "It's getting late"
"Ya're right" she nodded. "Tha first thing we should think about is: who are going ta travel with ye? Tha Matriarch said tha the travellers has to be a little group of people"
"Aham... Well, you, Astrid, em..." he kept thinking. Mérida looked at him with a 'can't believe it' face and waved a hand in front of his eyes.
"Allo? Shouldn't ya spread around tha with the explanation of tha trip, and then tha people will volunteer?" Mérida suggested in a obvious voice tone.
"You're right, yeah" he nodded slowly, thinking of it still. He took another paper and wrote 'TRIP' on its top.
"Ye don't need more paper!" Mérida shouted when she saw him writing down again, making Hiccup jumped a little in his chair.
"And you don't need to shout like that!" he kept his hand in his chest, making sure he was alive. "You've scared me"
"A know, tha was tha idea" she said, taking away the 'TRIP' paper.
"Stop taking away my lists" he tried to remove the paper from her hands, but all his tries were failed.
"Stop making more" she smiled to him. The both of them stopped when the main door opened suddenly, making their hearts beated faster.
Astrid appeared behind it, with a tired face and her ax hanging in her shoulder.
"Hey, Mérida!" she greeted her. Hiccup and her stood up from the chairs. Mérida gave Astrid a big hug. "Wow, what was that for?" she laughed.
"A feel sensitive" she smiled shyly. Then Hiccup approached her and kissed her quickly on the lips.
"What are you doing so late, guys?" she asked, leaving her ax in the floor, and the three of them sat down.
"I was asking Mér for opinion about the trip that I've told you this morning" Hiccup asked, holding Astrid's hand. She nodded.
"So, A've told him tha he should do e communicate and then tha people will volunteer by itself, but he doesn't stop making lists and wasting paper" Mérida complained funny. Astrid laughed with her.
"It's neccesary!" he apologized himself. The two women looked at him at the same time with a 'you-know-it-is-not', and he thought he couldn't win. He raised his hands and smiled. "Okay, okay, fine. I give up"
Astrid and Mérida highed five without looking at each other, making a totally 'victory face'.
Then, the door opened again, only revealing Kristoff.
"Hey guys, I've heard you and I think that I could help and- "he started, but Astrid cut him off:
"Sit down, I'm going to bring some beer" she stood up, no looking back.
"It's going to be e long night" Mérida sighed, while Kristoff greeted Hiccup and herself.
