When they made it back to encanto

Isabela: Well... that can't be good

*Isabela muttered softly. Luisa, Mariano, and herself made it to the encanto. But they didn't expect what they were seeing. The clouds. The clouds were grey all over the small town. There wasn't even a hint of sunlight to speak of. Luisa and isabela gave each other a glance and then looked back at the village*

Isabela: Mariano, you can go home now. Luisa and myself... We're gonna have to figure out what's going on with Aunty pepa's gift

Mariano: Of course. I'll see you soon, amor

*Mariano said as he kissed Isabela on the lips. It was a quick peck on the lips, but still Luisa noticed how forced it looked. Mariano let go of the kiss and walked away with a small smile and wave, leaving the two girls alone. Once they were alone, did Luisa look at Isabela*

Luisa: Did...did you two get into a fight?

Isabela: What? A fight? No. Why would you ask me that?

*Isabela asked, confused as she looked at Luisa. Luisa, for her part, looked nervous, bitting her lower lip, before she spoke her mind. Already, it was a terrifying ordeal to speak it*

Luisa: It's just....that kiss. It didn't look natural. It looked sorta forced.

Isabela: I don't know what you're talking about. It wasn't forced, Mariano was probably tired

*Isabela said sharply, a little too sharply for both of them. Since both were used to the calm and reserved Isabela from San Jose. But they weren't in San Jose anymore. But Luisa remained firm*

Luisa: It looked more forced from your side than it did from his

Isabela: And what does that tell you? That's right. That I'm more tired than him. Now come on. Let's head back to Casita. We need to see what's up

*Isabela said sharply, she flipped her hair at Luisa, and started walking to Casita. Luisa sighed sadly since Isabela was going back to her old miss perfect ways*

Luisa: Ok. Ok.

*Luisa said with a sigh, she already missed the Isabela that was in San Jose. Isabela pursed her lips and walked in front of Luisa, So she wouldn't see the face Isabela had on, it was a mix of her miss perfect face, and guilt over the harshness in her tone towards Luisa*

Isabela" It was nice, not being the rose of the encanto for a bit. But it's time to go back into the cage. "

*Isabela thought sadly, as she stopped looking sad and put on back her plastic fake smile that she's known for as the rose of the encanto*

Later

*Isabela and Luisa opened the door to Casita and looked around. The place looked empty of life, as if no one ever lived here in the first place. Luisa found this strange, decided to speak out first,

Luisa: Is anyone here?! Hellooooo?!

*Luisa said loudly, that seemed to wake somebody up, as they both heard someone walking fast towards them, they felt a bit of relief when it was just their mother*

Julieta: Amores, where is your little sister? Where is Mirabel?

Isabela: Oh. Uh. She said she needed to stay an extra week in San Jose, over some rumor she heard

*Isabela said, rubbing the back of her head, wondering what the hell happened? Before they left, julieta was a lot calmer. Sad because of Mirabel, but still calm. But now? She looked as stressed as she was before all the changes. Julieta nodded at what Isabela said and took a breath of relief*

Julieta: Oh. Good. Good. That's... that's probably for the best. The longer she takes to come back, the better it'll be for her... The better it'll be for all of us, really.

Luisa: Mom? What's going on?

*Luisa asked, confused, and more than a little concern with how her mother was acting. She was looking around nervously, as if a demon would pop up at any moment. Julieta took a small breath before she spoke*

Julieta: Not here. Let's... Let's go someplace else. I heard this lovely couple opened up an ice cream shop. Let's go there and talk

Isabela: O... Ok, ok. You don't have to push us

*Isabela said with a yelp, as julieta was indeed pushing her daughter's to walk while they talked. Julieta was pushing harder as she heard the step, step, step, coming closer*

Julieta: I really do, I think I heard Pepa coming out of her room

Luisa/Isabela" What the fuck happened while we were gone?!"

*They thought, as they heard Casita's door close and lock, stopping whoever was coming down, the see julieta take her daughter's out. But they did catch a glimpse*

Agustin: Was that my daughters? She better not be taking them to the ice cream shop without me!

*Agustin exclaimed outraged. He may not understand Casita, but he does know when it laughs, and right now? It was laughing at him*

Later

With julieta, Luisa, and isabela

*We see them eating ice cream, while julieta explained everything that happened while they were gone. Safe to say they were shocked. Well. Shocked would be an understatement*

Isabela: So you found tio Bruno

Julieta: In the walls, yes. He's been hiding there for a whole decade

*Julieta said with a nod of her head, as she took a scoop of her banana split and ate it. Isabela took a short nod as she spoke again, trying to understand what her mother had just shared.*

Isabela: Right, right, then it turns out that Antonio already told the town

Julieta: And they're more or less fine with it since Mama is actually defending us now. Yes.

* Julieta admitted with a small smile since not everything has been negative since her children were away. Isabela nodded and licked her strawberry ice cream before speaking again*

Isabela: And finally,  it turns out that Antonio saw Mirabel as her mother, so much so that he calls her mom.

Julieta: And he screamed it to Pepa's face. Which is why the clouds are the way they are

*Julieta said with a sigh, as all 3 looked at the sky out the window. The clouds were a mix of grey and black, but it hasn't rained yet. Which is what was so concerning. Julieta was surprised when Luisa spoke up*

Luisa:.... God. Our family is fucked up

Julieta: I wish I could reprimand you, but I agree with you

*Julieta said with a strained chuckle, the three of them ate their ice cream, wanting a few seconds of silence before they kept talking.  that is, until Isabela noticed something.*

Isabela: Why aren't you shocked?

Luisa: Who said I'm not? We found out that our tio Bruno is alive and well, and has been for a decade

*Luisa said, surprised at isabela's accusation, but Isabela shook her head since that was not what she meant. She pointed her finger at her younger sister, as she spoke*

Isabela: No. Not that. About the whole Antonio business?

Luisa: Oh. That. Because I already knew.

*Luisa said with a shrug, as she took another lick of her ice cream. Julieta gave her second daughter a look that was a mix of surprise and horror since she knew she would hate this, but she had to know*

Julieta: Explain

Luisa: Well, tia Pepa can get pissy all she wants. That doesn't change the fact that she left everything for Mirabel to do, while she was busy with watering crops

*Luisa said with a shrug. She was always too busy to help, but she wasn't too busy to see. She would catch Mirabel taking care of Antonio every single day. It didn't seem right for Luisa that someone as young Mirabel was taking care of a baby, but it is what it is. Julieta just gave a small groan and did something that surprised her daughters. She said a curse word*

Julieta:.... God our family is fucked up. How bad was it?

Luisa: everything. When I said that I meant it. Mirabel did everything. She changed his diaper, watched over him. The only thing she didn't to was give him formula, that was about the only thing she actually did for Antonio

*Luisa admitted, feeling a small weight to lift her shoulders, while julieta just hit her head on the table and groaned loudly, loud enough for people to stare at her. It made julieta nervous, as she shot them all a flor of the encanto type of smile, and waved her hand dismissively, for them to move on. Which they did*

Julieta: fuuuuuuuuuuck.

Isabela: How... How bad are things?

*Isabela said softly, as she looked at her mother, who just wanted to go back home, crawl to bed, and die. Since she was hit with more proof, she ruined he youngest daughter's childhood by not having a backbone. Julieta sighed and raised her head . She spoke in thought out loud.*

Julieta: Pepa won't come out of her room, Antonio is refusing to keep lying and told everyone, why he feels like Mirabel is his mother and Felix is trying to keep the peace, between Pepa and Antonio.

Luisa: And everyone else?

*Luisa asked, julieta shrugged, taking a big bite of the chocolate Ice cream in her banana split, letting the brain freeze pain soothe her for a few seconds, before she kept talking about there fucked up family*

Julieta: camilo doesn't care, agustin helps Felix every now and then. Abuela is.... Trying to keep her hands out of this problem. Since she thinks she'll just make things worse, and Bruno is.... Well, he's actually spending more time with Father Alves, so that's nice

Isabela: Father Alves?

*Isabela asked surprised, she and Luisa shared a glance before looking back at their mother, who looked curious at them for that reaction. Luisa was the first to explain what was going on.

Luisa: You know, Mirabel says that he had a crush on Bruno

Julieta: Oh really now? Isn't that interesting

*Julieta said with a very big smirk, already feeling better about everything, since now she can do something she hadn't done in literal decades, tease one of her siblings. But then things went for the worst.... For Luisa at least*

Isabela: Then you'll find this even more interesting. Luisa got herself a boyfriend

Luisa: Isabela!!

*Luisa screamed mortified, her face was completely flushed red, while their mother gasped loudly, as she smiled brightly at Luisa, grabbing her hands tightly. Luisa was a little scared at the type of smile julieta was giving her*

Julieta: Tell. Me. EVERYTHING!!

Luisa: m...mom, t... there's nothing to tell!

*Luisa stammered out, feeling her embarrassment get worse. The smug smile from Isabela got worse, and she spoke in a sing-song voice*

Isabela: he took her first kiss. He even gave her that necklace she has on her neck

Luisa:..... You bitch

*Luisa said in a unamused tone, while julieta was looking at the coin necklace, and then at Luisa, her smile getting even bigger, as she jumped over the table, and hugged her daughter's arm*

Julieta: You kissed?! Oh my God, that's so adorable! Tell me, how did you feel? Did you like it? Did you kiss back? You didn't use too many teeth, did you? Cause your father was so nervous that he used way too much to her teeth. It was cute, but still way too much teeth. Oh! Did you two hold hands?!

Luisa:.... Isabela, I hate you so much right now, I don't know how. But you will pay dearly for this
