Some days felt like the longest...just like today. Lisa had been up since 6am - cleaning the cages and prepping her cats for a full day of non-visits. How's Leo...he'll be so cranky by noon. That boy would surely throw tantrums when she gets back! She left her newly rented house at 8am and stopped by the mart to get a quick breakfast. She checked herself in the office at 8.30 and gone straight to the bus station - waiting and sorting out the documents and itinerary for the day.

Her tour should start anytime soon, but she's still waiting for the driver to confirm on the list of passengers. She'd been so focused since morning, she felt like half a day had passed by. But no, it's only 9.33am. Lisa breathed in the morning air deeply and stares out to the sky. How are you? What are you doing? Have you had your breakfast?

She found her mind drifting to him again and she quickly shook her head. He's probably happily married now. It's not right to still wonder and miss him, Lili! But she does...all the time...at every chance she gets - she thought of him. There's really nothing she can do about it though...it's been too long.

A year has passed. Chaeyoung and Jisoo had stopped mentioning his name to her a long time ago and she lets them. It's better that way. One day...it's not here yet, but one day...she won't wonder anymore. She made the right choice. Yes...it was the right choice. The right thing to do...the best for him -

"Lisa-san, the list is cleared. Everyone's ready except for one - he went to the restroom," Lisa replied a 'thank you' and puts on the headset - ready to start yet another day. She gathers her stuff and makes her way out of the small office towards the terminal. When she reached the bus, she waits at the platform for the remaining guest.

"Lisa?" A man's voice brought her facing to her left. The familiar face almost brought tears in her eyes, reminding her of the love she left behind. "Wow...Lisa...it's really you! It's uh...it's been so long,"

...

She came to him in a dream. She was exquisite – wearing a sheer, mustard yellow dress and those damn yellow flats – running free from an end to him. Her soft hair fell wildly across her shoulders when she halted a stop right in front of him. Those big, brown eyes are smiling at him as her lips curved up slowly.

'How much do you miss me?' Her voice sounded like a whisper but it echoes around the autumn field. Winds are blowing the high meadows, moving them side to side. Jungkook looks up to the sky and suddenly he's laying down on the grass – and he can see those colorful butterflies that he's been wanting to see. He looks to his side and there she is.

Next to him – smiling and laughing. Her eyes shined and sparkled in golden to brown hues as she stretch her arms up in the air, letting her fingers trail along where the butterflies flew. One stopped on her hand, and she slowly brought it down to him.

'Look at it...isn't it beautiful?'

He felt like crying. He wanted to pull her in but his hands feels heavy. His heart beat picks up as he tries again. The sky suddenly turned dark – and the clouds somehow makes its way closer to him, closing in like a fog blown fast by a storm. He looks back to Lisa and she is gone. Where is she? Did she leave again? Please, no –

Jungkook opened his eyes. His body felt warm and he sat up to find his shirt slightly damped in sweat. He took a deep breath – trying to calm the hard beating of his chest – and looks at the time. It's 9am. Shit! He always woke up late whenever he dreamed of her. He pulls himself out of the bed and head for the shower. He reached the sink and look at the reflection in the mirror.

Another day, another dream. The same questions ran through his mind. Is she alright? Is she well? Is she happy? Is she married? Where is she now? Has she been eating well? Did she find her sanctuary – a place she can call her home? Does she think about him like he thinks about her? Did she miss him like how he misses her?

Jungkook sighed and shook his head, forcing himself to snap out of it. It's gonna be a long day!

...

Jungkook got to his seat next to his friends, with Tzuyu by his side. She had been good at pretending to be his real date so far – clutching on his arm since they reached the hotel lobby. He noticed Jisoo sneaking a glance at him again before getting shushed by Taehyung. God, she's so nosy! He already knew she's gonna paster him with never-ending questions after this! He looked to his right. Tzuyu's typing something on her phone while pouting. She's probably trying to convince her boyfriend that she's just here because she was forced. Suddenly Jungkook feels bad for the girl.

"Tell you what – take Monday off. Go have picnic with him. Tell him I'm sorry,"

"Who are you and what have you done to my boss?" The girl squinted her eyes and Jungkook chuckled. He doesn't know why, but he felt tensed for some reason – like he's being watched. He turns back to Jisoo but she's busy talking to Jennie. He scans around to everyone in his sight. Everyone seems occupied – chit chatting in forced whispers.

The lights dimmed and the soft melody appears. Everyone stood up on cue to welcome the bride and groom. The grand ballroom door opens and the newlyweds appears. Jimin looks sharp in his suit and Chaeyoung looks elegant in her fitted white dress and veil behind her sleek bun. A part of him still can't digest the fact that his playful best friend had finally chosen to settle down. Chaeyoung is definitely a special girl seeing how she managed to tame the guy and get him to commit.

Briefly he recalled the night when they first met. Jimin had thanked him so many times for bringing them to the bar that night. Jungkook couldn't take all the credit. It was Lisa who made it happen. She was the reason how it all started really. If she hadn't helped him, he wouldn't have gotten to know her at all! Look at them now, smiling shyly as they walk up to the stage, bowing their heads slightly as they looked through the guests around the platform.

Chaeyoung halted – all too sudden – and gasped slightly as she look to her left. She smiles widely and it looks like she's about to cry. Who is she looking at? Jungkook stretched out his neck, as a few guests are also trying to find the reason behind the teary bride. He couldn't see anyone in particular as there are too many heads around. He turns back to the couple who now continued to walk closer to their end. He caught Jimin's eyes and it's like he's signalling something to him, tilting his head a little. Jungkook brushed it off when he couldn't catch what the guy implied.

...

"How long have you been together?" Here comes nosy noona! Tzuyu looked at him nervously as he muttered '2 months'. The shorter the answer, the better! "Ahh...no wonder you guys still look shy around each other! Tzuyu-ssi, don't worry. I've known him since he was in uni. I can fill you in on some details if you wanna know,"

Jungkook gave his glare of death but the girl didn't seem to be bothered.

"Ahh...thank you unnie," Tzuyu smiles politely. Jungkook contemplates on giving her a raise just for keeping up with this shit.

"You're so pretty...you guys look so pretty together," Jisoo adds again. God – just stop already –

"Oh my God – is that –" Jennie's voice caught everyone's attention. Jisoo looks up and gasped to somewhere behind him and Jungkook turned almost immediately. He held his breath when he saw her.

It...it couldn't be...is this a dream? Is she really here? Jungkook blinked a couple of times – unable to move anything other than just that.

She's really here! Wearing a sheer dark blue dress with the skirt flaring lose down to her knees. Her hair is slightly shorter now, curled in waves but her bangs remains the same. The grey tone on them made her look even more beautiful than how he remembered her. She nods her head as Chaeyoung speaks animatedly to her, the smile that he missed so much never left her face. Their hands are holding onto each other, as if they missed each other too! Jungkook's hand now itches for her skin...but it's been so long - what, 2 years?

Chaeyoung caught his eyes – or rather, the entire table's eyes on them, and she immediately pulls her friend to their table. Fuck, she's coming here! I'm not ready - shit, I'm not ready!! Jungkook turned, panicking like the very first time he met her at the bar.

"Lisa-ssi!" Taehyung's face lights up and Jungkook wanted to punch him so badly.

"Hello," Her soft voice is now beside the table. That soft voice he missed so much! He couldn't look up – why the fuck can't he look up?!

Jisoo whined like she's about to cry as she stood and went to the girl, hugging her tight. "Lisa-yaa...why didn't you reply my message last month? I miss you so much!" Wait – they've been in touch?? What the fuck - I'm so confused?!

"I'm sorry unnie...I really wanted to, but I saw your travel pictures and I thought you'd be busy so I didn't wanna bother you –" She sounded apologetic. Jungkook looks up to find Taehyung frowning at him – his eyeballs shifting between him and Lisa alternately. What am I supposed to fucking do?!

"Hi Lisa, so good to see you again after so long..." Now it's Jennie's turn to hug her. When is it gonna be my turn?! It will never be your turn if you just sit there like a freaking coward – "This is Tzuyu, Jungkook's girlfriend -"

What – the – fuck – Jennie!

Tzuyu held out her other hand – the one that's not clinging on to his arm – and obliviously greeted the love of his life.

"Oh...hello, nice to meet you," How is she doing that? How the fuck can she sound so casual about this whole situation?! Oh well, she's moved on remember? Remember Kook – remember the tall, handsome, older, Japanese dude??

"Please sit, Lisa-ssi! We have so much to catch up on," Taehyung pulls out the empty chair right in front of Jungkook. Seriously, is this a prank they pulled together as a payback for his constant 'rain-checks'??

"Ahh..it's okay oppa," Op...oppa? There's that annoyance creeping up on him again. Jungkook didn't know whether he should laugh and storm out right that second. The way she sounded brought so much memories...it's overwhelming!

"I promise I will catch up with you and unnie tomorrow okay?"

Oh...so she doesn't mind catching up with them...but didn't even wanna say hello to him?? Where's my damn 'hello'??

"Yeah, we're gonna have dinner tomorrow! Babe, I can't believe you came!" Chaeyoung shrieked. "I sent her my invite but she didn't reply! How could you do that to me?!"

Yeah...how could she...

Taehyung laughed – still throwing glances at Jungkook.

"Lisa-ssi," Yoongi appeared beside her. "How could you not greet me?"

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry, oppa! I didn't see you – I swear," There she goes again, sounding so sweet and adorable to every man in the room except for him.

"Yeah, Chim actually separated us into different tables. I'm just there with Joon, Jin and Hobi. Let's go, I bet they can't wait to see you as well – especially Hobi!" Wait – wait, you can't just drag her away – and there she goes...along with Jisoo and Chaeyoung. Jungkook sighed and Tzuyu excused herself to the restroom.

"Yahh...the fuck is wrong with you?" Taehyung leaned forward and Jungkook caught Jennie smirking at him.

"Noona, why did you do that?"

"Do what?" She shrugged.

"Why did you suddenly blurt about Tzuyu like that?"

"Kook, she needs to see what she's missing out on. I don't know why everyone's sooo in love with her – I always felt like she's hiding something. It's good that she left. I still can't get over the fact that she came in between you and Yer...she even made you turn against your mother – she's not right for you –"

"Yahh!!" He stood up and slammed his palm firmly on the table, making Jennie and Taehyung flinch in unison. "You don't know anything....you don't know anything about her and me! You live in your perfect little bubble, thinking everyone should look and act like you and...hey, Yeri's happily in love with my best friend okay? Get that in your head. Lisa didn't have anything to do with my issues with Yer before – Yer had been sleeping with Yuggie even before Lisa came into the picture – so again – don't talk like you know shit cus you don't! And as for my mother...she loved her. She wanted me to marry Lisa – we just didn't know that it was Lisa she was referring to cus –" Fuck, why am I explaining myself?! "You know what – you can take your judgmental shit and go –"

"I'm sorry...Kook, I'm sorry...I didn't know –"

"Yeah exactly – you didn't know! Then why are you talking about her like you know?"

"Gook, sit down," Taehyung voice is stern as he tried to neutralise the atmosphere at the table. Jungkook snapped back to reality and looked around. Thankfully, everyone is busy chit-chatting and enjoying themselves so no one was even paying attention to them. He sat back down, still glaring at the girl who's now looking down to her fingers in guilt.

"Oppa...unnie, I have to go now before it gets dark," Lisa's back at their table and Jungkook brave himself to look up to her. She noticed and looks back to him. He didn't know why...but there's a hint of sadness in her eyes. Is it just in his mind? After what felt like an eternity, she dipped her head slightly to him, and he did the same. Then she went over to Jennie, hugging her from behind.

"Please come for dinner tomorrow...I brought a gift for you," She said and Jennie gave a small smile, nodding a little. Jennie's eyes glistened and it looks like she's about to cry. "Oppa, you're definitely coming right?"

"Yeah, I'll be there. Who did you come here with? Any Japanese boyfriend you'd like to introduce us to?" Jungkook held his breath, afraid to hear the answer. Oh, he's definitely testing Jungkook's patience.

"No, no..." Lisa giggled shyly, looking down to her knotted fingers. "Don't believe anything Jisoo unnie says...I don't have a boyfriend –"

"Oh? No one in Japan got your attention?"

She laughs louder this time. "No, no!! It's just..." She caught his eyes and hangs on to them a little longer.

"Sorry honey – there were so many queuing in the restroom –" Tzuyu took her seat as well as his arm. Fuck my life – this can't be happening to me!!

Lisa clears her throat and smiles back to Taehyung. "I really have to go! I'll see you tomorrow okay?"

Taehyung nodded apologetically to the girl and just like that, she hurried herself out – possibly out of his life, again. Taehyung sighed, shaking his head slightly at Jungkook – who's now feeling so shitty with himself that his face turned red. So everyone else is meeting her again except for him? Everyone else gets a second chance but him?! Fuck this shit!
