Shall we?

The sack fell off my shoulders and landed on the floor with a large thud. I resisted the urge to scream because, the last thing I needed was a member of the general public staring at me like I've lost my marbles.

I took a deep breath and frowned wondering why the idiot in the sack was giving me a hard time. All this won't be happening if he had honoured my invitation and came for the stupid interview but oh no he had to be the stubborn goat from Alaska which ended up in my mom's big pot of soup.

The bag shook and I looked at it in disgust. Why was Ebube even struggling? I took a deep breath and  opened the door to the bus I rented for the interview. The rest of the boys looked at me wondering what was going on.

"Well, don't just sit and stare Vincent, come give me a hand!" I snapped at Van Coconut who reluctantly got up from his seat and jumped out of the bus. Without struggle, he picked up the sack from the floor and threw it into the bus.

"For the record, that's an actual person."

He gasped, placed his hand on his chest and said, "I almost cared."

"You know what, just get in the van. Let's get this over and done with."

Vincent got back into and before I shut the door I smiled at Collins, "be a darling and let grumpy out of the sack."

I opened the driver's door and put on my seat belt.

"What's going on here?" I heard his voice ask and my head fell on the steering wheel with a groan.

"I'd be grateful for fresh air first before asking any question?" Collins told him before looking out the window.

"Thank God for fresh air. What is going on here?"

I put the key in the ignition and turned it on, "Welcome one and all to the one and only Interview Carpool with Harielta. Who in case you didn't know is me and please seat down and let's go."

"You can ride this thing, right?" Charlie asked

I turned the engine off and scoffed, "of course I can. What do you think? I stole this car and invited all of you to watch me learn to drive?"

"Yes," Usain stated in a matter of fact voice.

I nodded and turned the engine back on. "Then, you're not too far from the truth."

"Ebube, how does it feel to be back from the dead?"

"It feels like I'll be going right back," he said and I laughed. "Glad to see you have confidence in my driving."

"I'm getting the hang of it," I smiled and continued to steer.

"Yaaayyy, should we throw confettis in the air?" Vincent said without a trace of humour in his voice.

"If it isn't Vincent Van Coconut, how have you been after your little encounter with Sandra?"

"She shot me!" Ebube exclaimed.

"Nobody is talking to you," I snapped.

"And my name isn't Vincent Van Coconut."

"She shot me."

"No one cares."

"I died!"

"Big whoop! People die all the time."

"She shot me."

"One more she shot me from you and I'll throw you out of this car. While it's moving, mind you."

"If it's any consolation, she told everyone I suffered from a disease that reduced my performance in bed," Mariano said and shook his head. "Had to move towns."

"I died!"

"Here we go!"

"Before you throw him off, I have something to tell him," Akshay and smiled. "I was stuck in a mall with her and I kissed her and we dated and broke up because I didn't have a yacht."

"That doesn't make me feel any better," Ebube informed him.

"I'd like to know how you got into the last interview when you weren't supposed to be there," I said to Akshay and took a turn.

"It's called skills."

I rolled my eyes and focused on the road. "Dillion, I was made to understand you almost took advantage of Sandra!"

"That's a lie! She came to me not the other way round."

"I believe you," Usain said. "When we were kids, she burnt my favourite doll because she thought it was a voodoo doll."

The bus went silent and I watched everyone take in what he said from the rear view mirror.

"First of all," Charlie said and cleared his throat. "No sane boy has a doll and you don't need anyone to tell you that dolls are for girls."

"That's a sexist comment," Collins

"Go ahead and be a hypocrite, I just said what we were all thinking."

"Guys, I hate to say this but I feel like we're drifting away from the actual point," Ebube said.

"And that would be?"

"Sandra shot me, I mean, she killed me."

I slammed my hand on the steering wheel, "that's it."

I hit break and maneuvered from the drivers seat to the passage. "you're going out."

"Wait, you said the bus has to be moving," Akshay said a little too excited in my opinion.

"Right!" I walked back to the drivers' seat and turned the engine on, the car started to move and I made my way back to Ebube, "out you go."

"Wait," Vincent stopped me.

"Better have a good reason."

"Who's riding the bus?"

"It's on auto pilot," I said and continued with pulling Ebube out of his seat.

"Autopilot," Collins muttered from behind me. "that's funny because buses don't usually come with autopilot. Wait, do cars come with autopilot? Pilot, Cars. Hmmm"

"Get up you stupid child," I yelled at Ebube and struggled to pull him up.

"HARIELTA! CARS DO NOT COME WITH AUTOPILOT!"

I paused to think about it, after a moment, I nodded, "I suppose."

"El, I don't mean to disrupt your ongoing activity but I think we're going to crash into that trailer," Collins said.

"That's great- wait! What?!"

And true to his words, the car was heading towards a trailer at a very in-bus speed. Without a second thought, I jumped off Ebube and ran back to the driver's seat and this time I got in with ease and I didn't hesitate to hit the brakes.

"Wow, that was something," I breathed out.

"I'm alive and not dead. Thank you Lord Jesus. I'm really grateful."

"Aren't we all!"

"How about I turn the radio on and listen to cool music?" I asked.

"This interview, more like death trip, is over!" Charlie said and jumped out with the rest of the boys not far behind.

"Guys wait, this really can't be the end."

"Oh honey, it is."

I watched them disappear from sight before I shrugged and put the radio on. Olamide's Wo! came on and I smiled before getting out the car and dancing ignoring the judgemental looks I was getting.

One by one, the boys returned and joined in the ridiculous road side dancing.

"Now, that's how you end an interview carpool," Usain commended.

"Well, thank you for stopping by and reading! So long!"

"Let's just ignore the fact that I was killed," Ebube said. "And please keep voting and commenting and share while you can. Let's make my death worth it."

The End
