As the night goes on and the children have already been put to bed Chanyeol looks towards the end of the sofa and sees Baekhyun fast asleep. Smiling to himself he decides instead of covering him he will bring him to bed. Gently getting off the sofa he moves towards the smaller and gently reaches picking Baekhyun up. Carefully he moves the smaller closer to his chest and carries him to his bedroom placing Baekhyun on the bed softly. " Sweet Dreams" he whispers as he covers him with a blanket before leaving the room to sleep on the couch.

Laying on the couch after turning everything off he looks towards the window seeing the moon shining in. "What do I do. Should I move on?" he says aloud to an empty room hoping some help will come from the great beyond. Sighing he can sense someone in the room. Looking around he spots Baekhyun standing in the doorway looking at him.

" You carried me to bed" Baekhyun blushes as Chanyeol sits up on the sofa.

" Yeah, sorry but I thought you would sleep better in a bed then on the sofa" Chanyeol can feel his stomach get nervous hoping he hasn't crossed a line by doing that.

" I can always go home to my bed and sleep and just get Kyungsoo in the morning"

" No you don't have to do that, you can sleep in my bed its ok honestly" Chanyeol stands up as Baekhyun walks towards his shoes near the front door.

" I will be back in the morning. You need to sleep too, and I would prefer you sleep in the bed" Baekhyun sits on the floor and pulls on his shoes as Chanyeol can't help but smile seeing just how cute Baekhyun is just by doing something so simple.

"Are you sure?"

" Yeah" Baekhyun stands and reaches for the door opening it.

" Oh ok then, goodnight" Chanyeol watches as Baekhyun leaves and heads quickly out of the cold into his own bungalow.

Closing the door Chanyeol sighs before making his way to the kids bedroom and checking on them to see they are asleep. Smiling to himself he makes his way to his bed and climbs in. As he pulls the bed covers across his body he can get the scent of Baekhyun. Closing his eyes he takes a deep breath knowing full well he has fallen for Baekhyun really hard. He snuggles down and eventually falls asleep.

Next morning

"Daddy, Mr Baekhyun is out by the straw pips and Kyungsoo wants to go out to him , but we can't open the door" Kai says while bouncing on his dad's bed .

" Ok hang on " Chanyeol climbs out of bed and follows the little ones into the sitting room unlocking the sliding door for them.

" Put some shoes on first" Chanyeol says as he makes his way to the bathroom.

Once finished he heads back to the kitchen and turns on the kettle. Leaning against the countertop he can just about see Baekhyun and the kids joking and smiling as Baekhyun checks on the straw pips.

Making himself some tea he steps out into the garden and takes a seat at the garden table and chairs. The sun is up and warm making him close his eyes to feel the warmth on his face.

"Daddy daddy, I got some straw pips look" Kai says making Chanyeol open his eyes to his son looking all excited holding a small box of straw pips.

" Oh let me have one " Chanyeol reaches but Kai moves the box away and giggles. " Oh I'm going to get one" Chanyeol gets off the chair just as Kai starts to run down the garden holding on for dear life to the box.

" No daddy no" Kai giggles until Chanyeol finally catches him and starts to tickle him as the kid lays on the grass still holding his box of strawberries.

Looking up Chanyeol can see Kyungsoo look all excited as he watches Chanyeol tickling Kai . Chanyeol can see a little sadness in his eyes so he decides to grab Kyungsoo too and tickle them both at the same time. Laughter fills the air as Baekhyun joins to see what all the giggles are about.

" Stop stop" the kids shout finally making Chanyeol stop and laugh on his back on the grass. Kai climbs on his dad making Kyungsoo do the same as they both giggle trying to keep the giant down .

" Help help" Chanyeol shouts pretending he needs help.

" Your daddy is so cool" Kyungsoo says making Chanyeol smile and he wiggles under them to get free.

" Oh no I think that's the straw pip monster you have caught" Baekhyun says as he walks closer making the kids climb off and run-away giggling.

" So I'm the straw pip monster now, am I ?" Chanyeol sits up as Baekhyun holds out his hand to help him up to his feet.

" It got rid of them " Baekhyun smiles as he moves to head back to his garden.

" Baekhyun is everything ok?" But the smaller keeps walking .

" Baekhyun" Chanyeol rushes after him and reaches the smaller turning him by his arm.

Baekhyun turns to face the taller but has tears down his cheeks.

" Hey what's wrong?" Chanyeol cups the smaller's face making Baekhyun close his eyes to the touch.

" Kris rang me during the night" Baekhyun wipes his face as Chanyeol feels a sinking feeling in his chest.

" Come let me get you a coffee" he guides an upset Baekhyun back to the garden table as he quickly turns the kettle back on.

" Here have this" he finally joins the smaller at the table as they sip their morning drink.

" What he say?" Chanyeol asks as Baekhyun watches the kids running around playing in the garden.

" He said when he gets out he wants to come back home and put things right. I told him no. He got angry and told me I belong to him" Baekhyun sniffs before sipping his coffee.

" You belong to nobody in this world only Kyungsoo" Chanyeol says making Baekhyun look at him confused.

" Why, because I'm single ?" Baekhyun questions feeling a little Annoyed.

" Oh god no. I just mean nobody owns a person. That's all I mean. Just when I hear people say that, it sounds like they bought them in a shop or something, do you get what I mean?"

Chanyeol feels panic in his stomach till Baekhyun smiles

" I get what you mean. It's just I thought this would be all over. Now I'm gonna have to look over my shoulder all the time wondering where he will be, he gets out later today"

" That's early how is that possible?"

" He has his way I guess sweet talks his way out of trouble" Baekhyun sighs then closes his eyes letting the sun warm up his face.

Chanyeol watches and follows the strong feeling he has in his gut

"Come home with me" Chanyeol blurts it out taking Baekhyun by surprise.

"What?" Baekhyun turns to face him

" You heard me, come home with me. He won't know where to look for you and Kyungsoo. We can leave this morning "

" Chanyeol I can't just up and run. I live here, this is my home and Kyungsoo will be so confused. Plus you are on holiday with your son"

" Kai won't care once Kyungsoo is there we can ask them"

" I'm not sure" Baekhyun lays his head on his arms on the table as Chanyeol looks on with worry.

" Baekhyun I can't watch him hit you like your his punch bag so please come with me let's get out of here"

" I'm scared Chanyeol"

" It's up to you what you would like to do "Chanyeol just waits and sips his drink as Baekhyun still has his head on the table resting on his arms.

All of a sudden screeching is heard with a massive crash sound making them both jump with fright and panic for the kids.

They both run down the garden but find the kids playing and picking up straw pips from the ground. Looking confused they go in search of the noise.

They can hear shouting out front so Baekhyun rushes across his back garden and walks the path to the front seeing what looks like a car crashed into the front of his house.

" Holy crap" Chanyeol rushes towards the car and neighbours from across the street joins them.

" The car was swaying down the road then took speed I called the police and the ambulance are you ok Mr Byun" the lady from across the road says as Baekhyun is shaking now

" I'm ok I was next door with Kyungsoo"

" Oh dear, lucky you where, look at the damage" she says making Baekhyun shake more.

" Jimmy get me a blanket quick " the lady shouts to her husband making him rush into their house and return with a blanket covering Baekhyun.

" I know this car" Baekhyun looks confused as he moves closer looking at the boot of the car. Seeing a sticker he knows all too well he freezes to the spot.

" Baekhyun you need to move away " Chanyeol approaches him and holds both the smaller's arms

" Why"

" Please let's get back to mine" Chanyeol tries to move him but he can't

" Sweetheart hello" The lady from across the street says rushing back towards the kids coming along the pathway beside the bungalow.

" Shit, the kids" Chanyeol says rushing to hide them from this.

" Hi I'm jimmy from across the road. Kyungsoo plays with my grandson when he comes here during the summer. Can I take them to my place across the road so they won't see this?"

Chanyeol starts to panic himself not knowing what to do right now.

" How can we stop them seeing this? They need to walk past it" Chanyeol worries as he can see Baekhyun staring at the car.

"I have another blanket here I can put it over their heads and pretend we are playing a game"

" Will it work?" Chanyeol helps as he explains to the kids where they are going.

" Yeah it will my grandson plays it with Kyungsoo plus I have a pool they can get in "

" They haven't had breakfast yet sir"

" Listen to me son, my wife and I will take care of them both. You just look after that sweet Baekhyun". The man covers his head and the kids heads as they walk across the road singing a marching song.

" Baekhyun" Chanyeol steps closer as Baekhyun falls into the taller's arms and sobs.

" I could have been in there with Kyungsoo. Look at the damage of the place"

" You are safe now, let's get you back to mine"

" Where are the kids ?" Baekhyun looks around as Chanyeol calms him

"The man jimmy from across the road has them "

" My dear, go back with this nice man. You don't need to see all this " the lady says as Chanyeol knows what he saw.

" I know it's Kris car is he ok?" Baekhyun looks up at Chanyeol as the taller just shakes his head.

" Is he ...is he...dead?" Baekhyun says with tears in his eyes as Chanyeol pulls him in for a hug wrapping his arms around the smaller tighter as Baekhyun's knees give in. Chanyeol lowers them both to the ground as he holds Baekhyun while he sobs.

Sirens fill the air as Chanyeol just keeps rocking Baekhyun back and forth.

" Sir is this your home?" A police officer approaches them making Chanyeol look up

" Yes, sir it's Baekhyun's home. I live next door. He was with me in my home with his son when this happened"

" So nobody was in the property at the time?" The police officer asks

" No sir it was empty" Chanyeol tells him as the officer stays quiet before speaking

" Can we go somewhere private?" The officer asks as Chanyeol helps Baekhyun from the ground and guides them around the back of the bungalows to his garden sitting Baekhyun at the table .

" Mr Byun I'm sorry about your home" the officer says as he looks at Chanyeol. Chanyeol knows what's about to happen, so he gets closer to Baekhyun.

" Call me Baekhyun please"

" Ok Baekhyun, I'm sorry to tell you this but your ex-partner was the one driving the car"

" I knew it was his car I knew it by the sticker on the boot"

" Baekhyun, I'm sorry to tell you this but he is dead. He was drink driving. There is cans and bottles in the front passenger seat"

" Dead are you sure. He just got out this morning from being arrested"

" He broke out he wasn't let out Baekhyun and we are sorry for that "

" I could have been in that house with my son. Look where the car hit right into my bedroom, he could have killed me" Baekhyun sobs as Chanyeol puts his arm around the smaller.

" We have set up a hotel room for you and your son to stay in till we sort all this out" the police officer says before they are joined by another police officer and lady.

" Sorry boss, this lady owns the house and needs to talk with Mr Byun" the other officer says as Baekhyun looks up confused at what he heard.

" Hi Baekhyun remember me, Sarah?"

She takes a seat as Baekhyun smiles.

" Yes, Kris bought the house from you"

" No I'm afraid I still own the house. I gave him an eviction notice last week in court"

"Wait what?" Baekhyun sits up straight and fixes the blanket around him

" Didn't you know Baekhyun?"

" I was paying him rent when he left us so my son and I could stay here" Baekhyun looks at everyone and breaks their hearts

" No I haven't been paid in over a year that's why I brought him to court he was supposed to be out of the house this weekend coming" she says as she touches Baekhyun's hand on the table.

" I have lost my home?" Baekhyun sobs again and puts his head on the table as one police officer shows the lady out.

"Can we bring you and your son to the hotel ?" The officer that stayed asks as Baekhyun looks up.

" I guess I have to as I have nowhere else to go now" Baekhyun sobs more as Chanyeol signals for the officer to follow him .

" Is he really dead officer?" Chanyeol asks just to make sure he saw what he did when he went to check the car the first time.

" Yes, he wasn't wearing a seat belt so his head hit the windscreen and he went through cutting his neck and face up by the glass . I'd say he was dead on impact"

" He was causing a lot of problems for Baekhyun" Chanyeol looks into the garden seeing Baekhyun now down at his strawberries .

" We were called a few times to the property, but Mr Byun would tell us it was all ok"

" How does he tell his son this. Kyungsoo can't see this " Chanyeol feels his own heart break knowing he went through something like this when Luhan died. He had to tell kai his mother died, and it broke his heart.

" Where is Kyungsoo now?" The officer asks

" Across the street with my son"

" Ok we need to get the kids away from this so can you get some clothes and we can get Baekhyun and the kids all out of here they don't need to see this"

Chanyeol nods his head and goes in search of Baekhyun .

"Baekhyun we need to get you and Kyungsoo away from here" Chanyeol stands behind him as Baekhyun turns to face him

" How do we do that .The street is nearly full of people, they will ask questions"

" Baekhyun sweetheart" the lady from across the street appears again.

" Mrs Kin thank you for minding the kids " Baekhyun gives her a soft smile as she walks closer hugging him gently .

" I told you before you can count on me and my husband to help you out. Now I'm here to help you with the kids. The police office told me you need to leave here and head to the hotel so jimmy put the kids in the car in the garage told them to hide in the back as they think they are setting up a breakfast for you both at a special place"

" Won't they see all this? You don't have their car seats" Baekhyun worries as Mrs Kin just smiles

" No my dear we have their car seats from Mr Parks car already so don't worry they are hiding so they can't see anything. Jimmy is moving them now all we need to do is get you there sweetheart"

" Thank you so much Mrs. Kin"

" No problem my dear, now you get going away from all of this ok" Mrs. Kin leaves them both alone as Baekhyun falls back into the chair.

" My life is over all because of him again. Well not this time. I'm not going to cry over him anymore . I'm going to get my son" Baekhyun gets up from the table and moves towards his back garden .

"Hey, wait Baekhyun" Chanyeol hurries after him

" I don't think I can drive Chanyeol can you help me?" Chanyeol smiles seeing the softness now in Baekhyun's eyes as he pulls him in for a hug.

"Let me grab some clothes from my place for you and Kyungsoo then I can drive you to the hotel" Chanyeol moves to walk away but Baekhyun calls after him.

" I feel like I'm gonna pass out Chanyeol "Baekhyun starts to fall as Chanyeol grabs him

" Just take a deep breath sweetheart you will be ok, I promise" Chanyeol holds him for a few minutes till he feels Baekhyun strength come back.

" Let's get out of here"

Later that evening

" Kai and Chanyeol are sitting in the sitting room of the hotel room that was provided for Baekhyun and Kyungsoo as they wait for the two to join them .

" That's so sad daddy isn't it. Kyungsoo lost his daddy and I lost my mummy " Kai says looking sad

" I know sweetheart so Kyungsoo will be sad like you were so be nice and gentle with him ok"

" Yes, daddy I will. I will give him a big hug cause he is my best friend " Kai says making Chanyeol pat the top of his son's head as they sit on the sofa snuggling.

" Hi" Kyungsoo and Baekhyun appear from the bedroom with red eyes

" Daddy can I give him a hug?" Kai looks up at his father not knowing what to do

" I think he would like one " Baekhyun says as Kai rushes over and gives his best friend a hug.

" My daddy gives nice hugs too that right daddy?" Kai says to Baekhyun making him smile .

" I bet he does" Baekhyun says as he watches Kai and Kyungsoo hug.

" Fancy a hug?" Chanyeol holds out his arms as Baekhyun gives in and hugs him to the giggles of the kids .

"Can we go watch the big TV mom?" Kyungsoo asks as Baekhyun nods yes.

" I'll turn it on " Chanyeol sits them both on the sofa and turns the tv on for them before he makes his way to the kitchen area to find Baekhyun .

" Fancy a cuppa?" Baekhyun says hearing Chanyeol enter the room behind him.

" Yes, please but I can make it " Chanyeol moves Baekhyun to the table as he makes the tea .

" Kyungsoo said he is happy" Baekhyun starts as Chanyeol turns in shock

" Happy ?"

" Yeah he said he is happy and sad about his dad"

" Ok why happy? Chanyeol passes the cup to Baekhyun as he joins him at the table

" Happy that he won't ever hurt his mommy again" Baekhyun bursts into tears as Chanyeol moves closer to comfort him.

" He screwed up my whole life Chanyeol what am I supposed to do now?"

" Baekhyun, come home with me even for a little holiday and let me help you and Kyungsoo get sorted please"

" I can't do that your supposed to be healing yourself and have a holiday with you and your son not dealing with my shit"

" Hey it's not shit ok and I don't mind honestly. Look, I needed friends when this happened to me and I didn't realize it at the time so let me be the friend you need right now"

" It will get in the way of you and Kai's time together"

"Do you think Kai will care, he has Kyungsoo" Chanyeol smiles making Baekhyun finally smile

" If you're sure and don't mind" Baekhyun looks up at the taller who is smiling from ear to ear

" Let's get the kids and ask them " Chanyeol stands up and reaches his hand out as Baekhyun takes it following him.

" Guys can we have a chat for a minute please" Chanyeol turns off the TV and sits on the floor in front of the kids as Baekhyun does the same.

" Would you Kyungsoo like to come home with your mom to see where Kai and I live?"

Kai gets all excited but clams seeing his daddy give him a look.

" Mom can we not go back to our home?"

" No sweetheart remember I told you it's falling down because of the accident" Baekhyun holds out his arms as Kyungsoo sits in his lap and lays into him

Kai climbs onto Chanyeol's lap and waits for his friend to answer

" Will you be ok mommy if we do go?" Kyungsoo asks making Baekhyun kiss his cheeks

" I'll be ok once you're ok sweetheart" Baekhyun hugs his son tight

" Then can we go because I don't like being here" Kyungsoo says making Baekhyun shocked

" What's wrong with here?"

" I just don't like this hotel mommy"

" Ok listen can you stay the night and then in the morning we can go on an adventure to show you our home " Chanyeol says with a smile as Kyungsoo climbs off his mom's lap standing in front of them

" As soon as we wake can we go?" Kyungsoo says making Chanyeol put his hand out to the smaller

" It's a deal" he shakes Kyungsoo hand making the smaller smile.

" Let's get some food " Baekhyun says making the kids excited as they climb off the floor.

Later that evening

Baekhyun is alone with the kids in the hotel room as Chanyeol has gone to the houses to pick up clothes and everything they will need . Baekhyun gave him a list of where to find things that he will need since the police said certain areas where ok to go into and they would help keep him safe while doing so.

" Please God make Chanyeol be ok, and nothing happen to him while he is at the bungalow. Kai doesn't need to lose another parent just because he is helping me " Baekhyun says while pacing the floor worrying.

The door finally opens with Chanyeol being helped into the Hotel room by some hotel staff and some police officers.

" We got everything you wanted " Chanyeol smiles placing some of the bags down as Baekhyun just watches on in awe at everyone helping.

" Thank you for all of this" Baekhyun says wiping a tear.

" No problem sir we will leave you to it, goodnight" everyone leaves and the room returns to silence

" I'll get you a drink" Baekhyun rushes off to the kitchen as Chanyeol just sits on the sofa trying to take it all in.

" Is coffee ok?" Baekhyun returns with one in his hand

" Perfect thank you" Chanyeol takes the cup and sips it as Baekhyun sits the other end of the sofa.

"The house is closed off now. Anything else that is salvageable will be put into storage till you decide what you want done to it "Chanyeol says while watching an upset Baekhyun take it all in.

" Kyungsoo's toys are all there he will be so upset" Baekhyun wipes his face as chanyeol moves closer to the smaller

" He won't be upset as they are all in my bungalow in which I was staying. We took everything we could belonging to him and you and put it into my place. As for the furniture those are in storage"

" Really" Baekhyun smiles before launching at Chanyeol and giving him a hug.

" Thank you so so much"

"Also here are your car keys I had one of the officers bring it here in case you wanted to drive it tomorrow" Chanyeol drops the keys onto Baekhyun's lap making the smaller cry more

"Thank you, you thought of everything " Baekhyun smiles as Chanyeol grabs his hand

"I may have forgotten something but everything on the list I got is now here" Chanyeol can't help but feel so sorry for Baekhyun right now.

"I really need to sleep but I'm scared Chanyeol" Baekhyun looks at the taller who holds his hand tighter.

" Sleep here then and I will watch over you" Chanyeol lets go of the smaller's hand and grabs a blanket

" Lay down and sleep we have a big day tomorrow. I will sleep on the other chair, but I will be close by "

" Thank you Chanyeol" Baekhyun snuggles down as Chanyeol tucks him in .

" Sweet dreams" Chanyeol moves and lays on the other chair as he watches Baekhyun finally close his eyes.

Checking his phone he reads a message from Lay telling him he got the other bedroom sorted for when they arrive since Chanyeol called him on the way to the bungalows to collect the things.

Putting his phone away he tries to get some sleep as tomorrow will be a hard day for them all
