Woojin and Chan exited the school building together. They walked in silence side by side.
"Hey, Chan" A voice called out.
The two turned to the voice spotting Chan's group of friends walking towards them. Woojin felt like hiding behind Chan but stayed beside him with his brave face on. The truth was that he was pretty much intimated by Chan's 4 best friends.
"What's up?" Chan said and did some sort of handshake with them all.
"We're heading to my place. Are you coming?" Minho said while holding Jisung's waist.
Woojin felt Chan's friends eye him with weird looks. He felt so small and helpless against them. In his eyes the 4 saw him as unwanted and unworthy. His gaze fell low, not daring to look up.
"Yeah, why don't you join us? That way you don't have to do anything you don't want to." Changbin said while looking Woojin up and down.
Woojin knew they were talking about him. They were trying to save Chan from hanging out with Woojin, thinking Chan was forced.
Chan's mood darkened at the words of his friends. It was bad enough that they treated people like they didn't want to be with them to keep crazy fangirl away, but they actually stood there, talking down Woojin straight to his face.
"No, I'm going home with Woojin. Not because I have to but because I want to." Chan grabbed Woojin's hand and led him away from the group.
Woojin's gaze was still low. He didn't want to seem like a weakling in front of Chan, but his eyes were like glued to the ground.
"Hey don't listen to them. I want to hang out with you. You are awesome and they are jerks not to see that." Chan said while rubbing Woojin's back.
Woojin lifted his gaze to meet Chan's. Chan was looking him in the eyes with a serious yet soft look on his face. Woojin smiled and nodded his head. He let Chan open the car door for him and got in.
Chan walked around the car and got into the driver's seat. Chan started the car and drove off, heading for his home.
The drive was silent except for the radio and Chan's soft humming. The car pulled up in the driveway of Chan's house not long after.
Woojin stepped out of the car and looked at Chan's house. It wasn't too big or too small. It was just the right size with modern looking design and surroundings.
Chan led Woojin to the front door and opened it with his key. Woojin stepped inside the house, looking around himself. The interior of the house was bright and clean with a few modern twists.
Chan chuckled at Woojin, following his gaze to the pictures on Chan's wall.
"They're of me and my family before I moved here." Chan said while looking at the photos.
"Did you leave your family when you left?" Woojin asked, glancing over at Chan.
"Yeah, they're still in Australia." Chan said in a soft voice.
Woojin nodded and smiled back.
"You hungry?" Chan asked, walking over to the kitchen.
Woojin followed him like a puppy while nodding his head happily.
"OK, I've got some ramen and left over pizza from last night with the boys. Either that or I can cook for you." Chan said and turned to Woojin.
Chan leaned his hip against the kitchen counter while awaiting an answer from Woojin.
"Ramen is fine." Woojin simply answered gaining a nod from Chan.
Chan started preparing the ramen while Woojin sat down in the of the bar stools.
"Imma go get my part of the lyrics. We can try them once and see if we need to change anything." Chan said and exited the kitchen.
Woojin sat in silence, just looking around while he waited for Chan to return. Chan walked into the room with a noteblock in his hand. He handed the book over to Woojin and returned ot his cooking.
Woojin flipped through the sheet, looking for the lyrics they wrote earlier. They had been working on the lyrics for two hours during music class already so they had a lot of it ready.
Woojin found the lyrics eventually, and strayed reading them. While he was reading a bowl of ramen was placed in front of him. He felt Chan behind himself, looking over his shoulder.
Woojin turned to the side, seeing Chan reading the lyrics over his shoulder. Chen stood very close to Woojin with one hand on the counter in front of Woojin, practically trapping Woojin between himself and the wall.
Chan pulled his gaze away from the book, looking into Woojin's eyes. Woojin looked back into his eyes, determined not to let his gaze drop to his lips.
Chan smiled at Woojin, glancing down at the latter's lips for a moment before he looked Woojin in the eyes.
"How are they?" He asked, looking at Woojin's lips once again.
"W-what?" Woojin stuttered out, feeling weak under Chan's gaze.
"The lyrics." Chan said, looking back up at Woojin's eyes.
"They're good. Really good." Woojin answered with a smile.
Chan smiled and pulled away from Woojin, sitting down next to him instead. The two ate their ramen while chatting comfortably.
Afterwards they went upstairs to work on their lyrics and song. Together they perfected the lyrics and fixed the playback to match it.
After a few hours of hard work they were finally finished.
"There. Now all we have to do is record them during next music class." Chan's and and closed his computer.
Woojin smiled and stood up.
"I should probably get going then. It's getting kinda late." He said with a forced smile.
He didn't want to leave, and neither did Chan.
"Yeah. Why don't I drive you home?" Chan suggested and stood up as well.
"It's fine, I can just walk." Woojin said, not wanting to be a burden.
"Come on. I drove you here so I have to bring you back as well. Come on." Chan's and and grabbed Woojin's hand, leading him out to his car.
