Crime And Coffee|Spider Noir

The dark gentleman sat across from you. You both sat in a booth with coffee mugs in front of you bith. In your hands, you held a pen and notepad. "So," you spoke, looking at the male in the eyes. "about the recent crime wave, would you care to explain?" you asked. The gentleman sat up straight then cleared his throat. "My theory is that due to the economic crisis the government has landed us in," he paused and grabbed the handle of the coffee mug, raising it to his face. He raised the lower part of his mask off of his chin then off his mouth. Bringing the coffee mug to his lips, he tilted it back and the warm, dark liquid cascaded down into his throat. He sets the coffee mug down and lowered his mask to cover his chin. "As I was saying, due to the recent economic crisis the government has landed us in, its citizens have become desperate to make ends meet, so they rob banks." You scribbled down important notes onto the notepad. "Go on." you responded. "Murders however, are most complicated. Sons and daughters would be willing to nab their parents' will so they aren't poor like most people here in New York." He goes on and on about the crime wave whislt providing his own explaintion of the people's mindset.

After a while, the interview concluded. The waitress came by, asking if that would be all. "Yes." you said. You look over at the gentleman sitting across from you. He nodded. "That'll be 10 cents." the waitress responded. "Okay," you dig into your pocket, moving your hand around to feel for money. You felt only a empty pocket. "Um," you dug into your other pocket but no such luck. "I-I don't...seem to have...erm, uh, any money." you stammered. The waitress raised a eyebrow. "Well, I'm afraid you'll have to-" Before she could finish, the dark gentleman slid a dollar bill across the table. "Allow me Y/n." he said. You look over at him. "No, I-I promised to pay for this." you pushed the dollar bill toward him. "No," he raised his voice. "you aren't making much money in this day and age, allow me." You decided to give into his offer. "Fine," you grumble, crossing your arms across your chest. The waitress took the money and walked off. "Keep the change!" the gentleman shouted after her. You look over at the gentleman. "Next time, I'm paying." you stated. "Okay." he responded.
