I went to the café where we were supposed to meet, I sat there for half an hour and he didn't show up, and just when I decided to leave, guess who showed up

"Oh he remembers" I said as I got my bag and started to leave

"Please, it's not what it looks like" he said holding my wrist and I looked at him

"Oh. Really, Cause from where I stand it looks like you stood me up" I said freeing my hand from his grip

"Hey" a new guy said extending his hand for me to shake it and I looked at Taylan who looked at the guy with so much adoration before taking his hand

He was tall, slightly taller than Taylan, he had broad shoulders, his eyes was deep shade of blue which reminded me of very expensive crystal, his hair was dark and short, neatly combed to the back. His cheekbones were so sharp that I feared if it was touched it would cut something. His skin was so light and he smelled like fresh cranberry.

"Hi?" I said confused

"I am Max" he shook my hand "I'm so sorry that Ty is late, actually my tiers were flat and I called him to pick me up and he kind of said he couldn't cause he had this meeting with this gorgeous girl, and my boyfriend instincts kind of kicked in and I might or might not have threatened to kill him if he doesn't come and get me" he said looking at Taylan who was already blushing to the floor "But I guess I'm going to have to kill him anyway cause he didn't do you justice while describing you to me" he smirked at me and Taylan rolled his eyes

"So it seems that Max already likes you" Taylan said as he pulled out the chair for me to sit and Max did the same for him

"So" Max started "Its Kate right?" he asked and I nodded

"I am sorry for being late" Taylan said

"No its fine" I said looking between him and Max and giving them a small smile

"So what would you like for me to order, the drinks is on me" Max said and I felt my body stiffen. No one has ever paid for me. Correction, no guy has ever paid for me

"No" I said trying to sound polite "I mean that's not necessary at all" I forced a smile

"Come on" Taylan whined "It's not every day that he pays" he said winking at me and I felt the heat rise to my face, why is this happening?

"Seriously, that is the least I can do for making him late" Max said "It's no big deal really" he pressed

"Come on, we can get to know each other better" Taylan spoke, they kept me in a situation I couldn't say no. and everyone wonders why I don't socialize

"Yeah okay, Black. I like my coffee black" I smiled at them

"Great" Taylan said "Max likes it black too" he smiled at his boyfriend

"Wonderful, two black coffee and one cup of tea" Max said before getting up "I will be back soon, don't flirt with anyone" he said eyeing Taylan "Keep an eye on him, will you sweetheart" he smirked at me and I nodded before he left

"He thinks he is lucky to have me, while I'm the lucky one" Taylan told me and I smiled

"He looks really good" I said "He looks into you too" I smiled and I could see Taylan blush

"He has been my rock" he said looking at his lap "I don't know what I would have done without him" he said looking at me

"I am happy that you have someone Taylan" I said and he smiled

"Ty" he said and I gave him a confused look "You can call me Ty" he said

"Okay Ty it is" I smiled

"You have a beautiful smile" he said checking his watch for the time and I bit my lips, it's a habit I developed when I am shy or embarrassed, tried to stop it but couldn't "Hey, I said you look beautiful when you smile, you don't have to kill your lips for that, stop biting it" he smirked and I freed my lips from between my teeth

"Here is you coffee" Max said handing me my cup "And here is your Tea" he said handing Ty his cup before he kissed him on the cheek and I could see Taylan flush red which made me chuckle "He thinks we shouldn't be so open in public" Max told me "He is afraid his reputation will go down" he said rolling his eyes

"Hey, hey, I never said that okay?" Taylan said defensively

"But that's what you want to say" Max fought back

"It's nothing like that, stop putting the words inside my mouth" Taylan frowned. Well this was getting awkward

"If I want to put something inside that pretty mouth of yours, sure as hell it wouldn't be just words, honey" Max said and me and Taylan become as red as our blood, if I thought that fight was awkward I surely didn't sign up for this

"MAX!" Taylan blushed as he glanced towards me and I looked at my cup awkwardly. Just think I'm not there please?

"Taylan?" a voice came making all our head snap back,at least we wouldn't have to be in that awkward situation "Its Taylan right? Taylan Dawson" a very tall handsome young man with grey eyes stood there in a suit, his coat over his shoulders and sleeves rolled up in a very sexy way, his hair was light shade of brown and it was stuck up, probably from the gel he used and though he was far away from us you cloud still smell the strong scent of his perfume, his lips was dark shade of red anyone who didn't know him would think he wore lipstick and his cheeks were flushed, he simply was the definition of gorgeous.

"Nick. Oh Nick" Taylan beamed and got up and hugged the guy in front of us. He seemed very happy seeing him

"Ohgod I can't believe it's you, Taylan. After all this years" Nick said laughing.

"Well that's awkward. Considering I am right here" Max leaned whispering to me and I tried not to laugh

"Hey, I want you to meet some people" Taylan said as he pulled away from Nick "This is Kate" he pointed at me and Nick extended his hand, which I took it and then he kissed the back of my hand, what a sweet gesture. Did people actually still do that? I must have turned a shade of pink as Taylan passed an awkward cough "And this is Max, my boyfriend" he said and Nick raised an eye brow. For a moment I thought Nick would judge Taylan or pass a rude comment but instead he smirked at Max and turned to Taylan

"So you are into men now" he said his grin spreading wide "I see" he added before shaking hands with Max "Quit the guy you got yourself there mate" he said to Max who forced a smile

"This is Nick, Nick O'Connor" Taylan said placing his hand on Nick's shoulder "My childhood friend and my partner in crime" he said patting him

"I got shipped to boys school away from here cause of him" Nick said, more like he spoke to me and I smiled looking at both of them.

"Oh please, it's not my fault you couldn't manage your own mission and got caught" Taylan scoffed and Nick rolled his eyes

"Whatever helps you sleep at night mate" Nick scoffed back

Nick seemed natural. He was sweet polite and a gentleman. I glanced at Max who seemed unhappy with the reunion of the long lost friends, he kept moving awkwardly in his seat as Nick and Taylan started catching up, I could understand how he felt, I would feel the same when my friends would take me out with them with their dates, it's a situation no one really wants to be kept in. but for some reason I didn't feel like that now, might have to do with the fact that 50 percent of the conversation Nick had been addressing me, or maybe the fact that even Taylan did the same, I don't really know, but both the guys didn't make me feel left out at all. They would say an inside joke but stop and explain it to me, or they would laugh at something and takethe time to stop to explain it to me and that was really sweet of the two of them. But that didn't seem to be the case for Max. The boy who was flirty and passing kinking comments not so much while ago seemed insecure, jealous, frustrated, irritated and maybe angry too.

"So Nick, what brings you back?" Max said breaking their conversation "You said you were shipped to boys school" he asked more insecure then curious

"Well, family drama but I am going to finish my last year here in town" Nick smiled at Max and turned to me "So Kate, do you go to the same school as Taylan?" he asked and I nodded "Oh lucky me" he smirked looking at Taylan who was shaking his head in disbelieve, like this is something Nick did all the time "I won't be getting enough of the pretty face" he said winking at me making my blush darken

"Hey Nick, Kate is off property. She isn't like those girls you know" Taylan said defensively winking at me

"Thank you Taylan but I am capable enough of taking care of myself" I said before even thinking, I have no idea from where did I get that much guts or from where did that strong confident voice of mine come, it just did. And Taylan raised an eyebrow at me

"Looks like our Kitten had grown a pair of claws I see" he chuckled and I turned my face away trying not to laugh

"I like a confident women" Nick acknowledged me, like I have just impressed him

"So" Max started again and we all turned our attention towards him "Nick" he smiled "Are you a women person or men? Or perhaps both" he said trying to force his sweetest smile and I just couldn't help but smile at the jealousy that was all over his face

"Oh mate, don't you worry even a bit, I have my eyes just for Kate right now" he said winking at me as Taylan rolled his eyes "Kate" he addressed me and I looked at him

"Yes, Nick?" I said

"Would you go out on a date with me?" he asked and I just blinked few times trying to know if what just happened was real or was my mind playing tricks on me

It's been two months and everyday me, Nick, Taylan and Max hang out together or meet at each other's places. We have gotten pretty close. At lunch time Taylan and Nick would sit with me and the girls at our table, Max always whined that he wanted to sit with the jocks and other players but he always ended up sitting with us and we all knew why, he was just so afraid to leave Taylan and Nick alone, even if he won't admit it.

He would sit and complain to me all day about how annoying he finds Nick and how much easier their life was before he showed up. But things have been different for me, I have been going out almost every day, and everyone at school started giving me respect and trying to get close to me, everything started going so well for me, and the most shocking thing that happened was when the cheerleader's team captain asked Tris if there was a way that she could convince me to join their team. When mom got to know this she was in the ninth sky, she said how it was a very rare opportunity and I shouldn't miss it and she forced me to join, but then again when did I ever do what I was told to?

I rejected their invitation and didn't give a crap about them, basically the way they treated me before, that's the treatment they got from me now if they tried to make a conversation or be my friends. I had my friends; I didn't need a new ones. Being famous in school wasn't that bad after all, at least they respected me and so did Anna, she started asking for my advices on her dressing sense, more girls and boys tried to get close to her so that they would get to know me, well basically anyone who tried to get close to me wasn't because I am a godly like person, they just wanted a way to get to the boys and I knew it, so I gave them what they deserved cause I shall never agree to be used, not like that.

More than Max and Nick, I hung out with Taylan, every day after school he would drop me and Anna off to my house and sometimes sit to have a cup of tea or maybe so we could study together. Alex was very impressed by me he said he always knew I had the potential to make friends and go out and discover the outer world. Taylan and Alex became good buddies, Alex would give Taylan the new video games that just came out as he had close connections and Taylan would take Alex out and sometimes they even fought together but not in the angry vindictive way, but the funny buddy way. Taylan never made Alex feel different or weird he would even crack lame blunt jokes about his disabilities, at first I stiffened and got scared and mad at Taylan when he did that but when Alex broke into laughter and made fun of Taylan's gay ass and how big his hole would be from Max fucking him out of jealousy, I knew this two would be great friends.

Taylan did not just get close to my brother but even to my friends and to Anna, he would give my friends boys advice about their relationship and how to handle their men, he made them understand how does a man's brain work and he even helped them choose gifts for their guys which made my friends very fond of him and he became pretty close to Anna as well, and Anna being Anna she didn't miss a beat and she asked him if he could do something about her cheerleader stuff and Taylan didn't miss a beat and he spoke to one of those girls he knew and he got Anna a place on the team, which made Anna the smallest member in the cheerleader in the entire school.

Taylan's small gestures to my family made me grow so fond of him, he cared so much about what I thought and how I behaved, not even for once have I regretted knowing him in fact I found myself wishing sometimes that I would have got to know him sooner.
Obviously my parents weren't oblivious to Taylan's favors and gestures they started to love him and care for him as one of their own, everything was fine until my dear loving mother started asking her FBI questions which I caught on to very fast.

"So does he have a girlfriend?" my mom asked as we were in the kitchen preparing dinner

"Who?" I asked, knowing well about whom she was talking about but I enjoyed playing dumb "Nick, you mean?" I added and though I wasn't looking at her I knew she was rolling her eyes at my stupidity

"Taylan, I meant Taylan" she turned to me a smile plastered across her face

"Taylan?" I shot her a confused look, Jade said I would do great in acting school, I guess she is right "Why would he?" I said as she started chopping of some vegetables

"Why would he?" she repeated looking a bit annoyed at me "I don't know" she said "Maybe because he is a young handsome man at the ripen age? Or perhaps that he has nothing that wouldn't let any girl in her right mind go drooling all over him" she said looking at me, she had a point

"Oh" I smiled, well let's hope she doesn't chop off her finger as I continue "I meant he is gay so probably he wouldn't have a girl you know,perhaps a boy maybe" I said and yup, I saw her finger on the table.

The next two hours weren't what I would call pleasant really, mom had been screaming and shouting, not because that half of her pinky finger is almost hanging or because the pain should be killing her as I thought but because how she hadn't expected such a great potential filled young man would do something so 'sinful' like being gay. On the other hand it wasn't her just screaming it was dad too, they were being so dramatic about the entire thing, they kept saying how he was going to go to hell and how he shouldn't be visiting us anymore, they yelled at how low I could be for being a friends with a gay, their heart almost reached their mouths when I told them that Max was his boyfriend, seeing their reaction to all this just made me laugh on the inside so much, Alex and Anna were as irritated with me because now they wouldn't get to hang out Taylan anymore, not until mom and dad got over this homophobia they had and I couldn't see that happening any time soon

"She never makes friends, she is such a freak" my mom yelled at dad as she pointed at me "And the day she makes a couple of friends the turn out to be this" she drew the cross across her chest "Oh dear Jesus save us" she muttered

"Okay stop" I snapped at the both of them and everyone looked at me in a shock "Just cause he, they are gay doesn't mean they ain't humans okay? Everyone has their own beliefs and their own world, they have the right to do what they want, and hell if they want to walk naked it's their wish you ain't anyone to tell them what to do" I explained trying to sound calm

"See, your daughter never back answered she was always quit and shy, look at what those gay boys did in her" my shouted and it made me more annoyed "This is wrong! This is against our religion against our beliefs. Do you want to get fried in hell? DO YOU?" she shouted

"Oh my god I can't believe you 'The gay boys'? They gay boys that made your son feel like he was himself after so long? The one that made him laugh? Or the gay boy who made your daughter be on the cheerleader team and made her dream goal come true? Or oh wait I know, you mean the gay boy who made your daughter come out of her shell and made everyone give her respect, yeah sure" I said raising an eyebrow at her and dad sighed

"See Kate, we just think it would be better if you stop seeing those boys for a while" he said calmly

"Listen daddy, I love you and I respect you I really do but they are my friends and I am not going to give up my friends just because you are homophobic, you need to learn to adjust to it" I said

"Katy, what have I done wrong?" my mom asked tears in her eyes "Didn't I raise you properly? Where did I go wrong tell me" she started crying, oh god.

"Mom, you raised me so well and that's why I am saying you this, cause of you and daddy I learnt to respect people the way they are and the way they believe. You loved them before you knew what they are why does it have to change? They are still the same people on the inside. Just give them a shot" I said and they sighed

"Kate is right" Anna said and mom glared at her

"Anna, go to your room, this is a grownup discussion" Dad said

"Because I don't know what is gay and what is lesbian?" she raised an eyebrow and gave them a look assuring them she wasn't as stupid or naive as they thought she was

"Taylan is good people mom" Alex said putting his hand around moms shoulder trying to comfort her

"Alex we are just afraid that being around" my dad stopped trying to measure his words and frame his sentence "You know Taylan, would change Kate's believes" he said

"Dad" I said taken aback, I haven't thought that this would be their problem "I like boys" I said and Anna gave a mocking cough which made her earn a glare from everyone "I do" I said again

"You haven't been in a relationship ever" my mom protested

"Nick asked me out" I said and with that the room fell into silence.

Later on my family has reached to an agreement that if I go out with Nick, they wouldn't have a problem with me and Taylan nor would they have a problem with Max. Yeah real mature! Anyways I told Taylan what happened and he took it in a funny way unlike Max who was kind of irritated and he started giving lecture about how love knows no color, race nor gender. But I told them to lay low; just because my parents said they would accept doesn't mean they do.

I agreed to going out with Nick and soon we became a 'thing' of course everyone at school couldn't believe it, Jade was over the sky when she got to know and Tris said me to be careful cause being in a relationship is when you want to be not because someone forced you into it.

Honestly, Nick was a great guy, I really do love him and respect him, he cares for me and he is funny, the thing is I don't see him as much of a relationship material. Or maybe it's just me being anxious about the whole dating thing, I really don't know

"Oh look at that" Jade patted my back as we all sat for lunch "Our small girl has finally grown up" she said and everyone on the table laughed

"They grow up fast don't they" Lilly said chuckling

"I know right! Tell me about it, just last week she would have fainted if she has seen a dick" Tris said and I choked on my food

"Hey, pick on someone else guys" I said giving them the stare

"Don't disturb my girl, girls" Nick said as he kissed my cheek and sat next to me making me turn red

"Aw. Now look at that, she is blushing" Jade said looking at everyone

"You mean she is as red as my lipstick" Tris corrected

"Do people get such type of reaction when kissed?" Lilly said and they were all back at laughing at me

"I see you girls are back at roasting my bestie here" Ty said as he sat next to me

"She got all her hoes next to her" Jade laughed out loud

"Wow, I like the girl who can handle her boys" Tris whistled and I buried my face in my hands in disbelieve

"Don't listen to them baby" Nick whispered in my ears as he wrapped his arm around me

"You guys are my friends" I reminded them and everyone was laughing

"Sorry to break it to you guys but this one is mine" Max said as he kissed Taylan's head before he placed his tray on the table

"MAX!" Taylan said turning a shade of red "People" he added and Max rolled his eyes

"It's about time you came out of the closet" Max said as he picked up his tray and walked away going to the jocks table, clearly pissed

"He is right you know, Ty" I said placing a hand on Ty's shoulder

"It's not about the closet pumpkin" he said looking me in the eyes and I could see how upset he was

"Pumpkin?" Tris questioned

"Yeah he calls her that" Nick said brushing it off

"It's just that I don't like to share my personal life with people, I don't want people to know about me about what I do, they know enough. I don't want to always be the topic of the gossip around here" he said as his head sunk between his shoulders

"Then tell him that" I said

"Yeah, speak to him about it" Lilly encouraged

"He won't listen" he sighed

"Hey mate" Nick said "If you want, I can speak to him" he winked at Ty

"No, that's probably a bad idea" Ty shook his head "He hates you" he added

"I thought so" Nick said as he stuffed his spoon in his mouth

"Seriously, who could even hate this hot cake" Tris said chuckling

"Aw, hold your horses' girl. My girl is right here" Nick said winking at me

"He is the loyal type!" Jade said "Impressive" she laughed and I smirked

"Fine, I will speak to him" I offered and he looked at me with hopeful eyes

"Really pumpkin, you will?" he said, his voice filled with hope and faith

"Yeah sure, why not, How many Taylan's do I know" I smiled and I had this weird knot in my stomach telling me other wise

I got up from my seat and walked towards Max, two months back if you tell me to go to that table where all the jocks and the cheerleaders are sitting I would have laughed in your face and walked off, going to them was pretty much my nightmare, I would be lying if I say I don't feel a bit of a knot in my stomach going towards them now but hey, I would do it in a heartbeat for Taylan and that scares the shit out of me. Why Taylan why him?

"Hey Max, can I speak to you for a minute" I smiled at him and he sighed

"Well, well. If it wasn't the whore herself" Beth, one of the most fakest girls in our school spoke

"What happen little Kate, you want all your boys around you?" Mark, one of the fuck boys added making his friends chuckle

"Hey guys shut up" Max rolled his eyes "Sorry about that, they didn't mean it" he said feeling bad

"I meant it" Beth said and Max glared at her

"Hey Beth, why don't you go remove your mascara then we can talk?" I faked a smile "Honestly I feel so bad for you, the amount of mascara you have one, jeez! Can you even blink?" I smirked and one of the guys oh'ed. Beth's face turned pretty red "Oh my, is that blush on your face or is your face turning red from embarrassment?" I added and now the guys were laughing including Max "And hey pretty boy" I smiled at the Mar, the dude who supported Beth earlier "I hear your girl is fucking someone in the couch's room" I said and I could see his eyes widening as everyone fell into silence "Everyone thought it's you, as she was too loud but seeing that you are here, I take it it's not you" I winked and before I could even say another word he has already left the cafeteria and was running to the couch's room "Well that was awkward, wasn't it" I said looking at all the fake people around the table as all of them seemed to be out of words "Well, now can I have a word with you Max?" I said and he got up and we started walking

"How did you know his girlfriend was fucking someone?" Max asked me as we started walking to the field

"I didn't even know he had a girlfriend" I admitted and Max looked at me with an eyebrow raised before he started laughing "I took my chances" I added and he laughed more

"What if he would have said he doesn't have one?" he asked when he calmed down

"Then I would have asked if that was his mother" I shrug my shoulders and Max shook his head in disbelieve

"Well Kitty, you did grow up" he said as he kept his hand around my shoulder and we kept walking

"I want to talk to you about Taylan" I said and he shook his head "Oh come on" I said and he sat down when we reached the seats

"What do you want to talk about?" he asked "About how my boyfriend is so ashamed of having me? Or the fact that he has a best friend I never knew about" he said looking at his palms

"Oh come on, give me some credit pal" I said looking at him "Hey look at me" I said and he faced me "First of all, me and Nick are a couple now so you need not be jealous" I said and he looked shocked

"I am not jealous of that mouse" he defended "Perhaps you give me some credit, you and him haven't even kissed yet, one peek on your cheeks and you turn as red as the Canadian flag" he rolled his eyes

"Hey hold on!" I said crossing my arms in front of me "I don't turn as red as the Canadian flag okay? And secondly we are taking things slow" I said and he gave me the 'bitch please' face "Okay, it's just that I'm new in all this relationship stuff okay so yeah bite me" I said and he chuckled "And hey we are here to talk about you" I said

"What about me?" he asked

"Taylan isn't ashamed of you" I said and he stared at me "He just doesn't want to lose you" I said and he looked confused "he is terrified that when everyone gets to know, they would come after you. You know the news, the students and everyone" I said

"Why didn't he tell me this?" he asked

"You never listen" I said and I could see him feeling guilty "Taylan is like the hot chick everyone wants to gossip about" I said and he chuckled

"I am dating a hot chick" he said more likely to himself

"You are dating a hot chick" I said and he looked as me in a very beautiful way

"Thanks Kitty" he said as he hugged me

"Its fine captain" I said and he laughed

We walked back to the cafeteria and everyone fell into silence when we entered, with or without the hot chick we were still the new gossip around here, we walked over to our table where Taylan and the rest were seated and when I glanced at Nick he winked at me and I felt butterflies in my stomach

"Hey T" Max said to Taylan as we reached them and Taylan sprung from his place "Listen I am sorry I didn't--" before Max could finish his sentence Taylan's lips were crashed to his and everyone's eyes were wide open I even thought, some would fall off their sockets. There were some gasps and some cheering and even I could hear the sound of some phones recording

I was pulled out of my world when I felt Nick's arm around my waist pulling me closer to him and I looked up at him, I was so short compared to him "I wonder if our first kiss would be this magical" he whispered in my ears and I felt the blush creep to my face

"This wasn't their first kiss probably" I said and he rolled his eyes which made me chuckle

"Perhaps for it to be so magical you need training" he winked at me and I looked down trying to hide my blush with my hair

"Perhaps" I said slowly more likely to myself than him

"What was that?" Max asked when Taylan finally pulled away

"That was to show you that I would never be for a second ashamed of being with you" Taylan said

"But the people and everyone" Max started

"Hell with everyone, I love you" he said placing a kiss on Max's cheek and for the first time I saw Max blush

"Oh he blushes" Lilly said loudly making us all laugh

"I'm happy for you boys" I said and Taylan turned to me

"Thanks to you Pumpkin, you made this happen" he said as he gave me a small hug, he smelled like lemon and mint and weirdly it radiated sexiness without any effort.

"Don't hang on to long there mate, I am the jealous type" Nick said making me roll my eyes. I had a boyfriend and a hot one too, who would believe that?
