Chapter 9

Branch pulled his twenty-five year old daughter into a hug, placing a quick kiss on her forehead. He couldn't be more proud of Harmony. In fact he wasn't only proud of her. He was proud of both of his twenty year olds who stepped in to help get rid of River. Of course, normally the blue troll wouldn't be happy about his children trying to kill somebody but, River was the exception. They stood up their sister. The father pulled his other two adult kids into the hug using his hair.

Poppy took out her camera and captured a photo of them. This was obviously going to be the first of many that she'll save for the scrapbooks and photo albums. When yhe picture exited the polaroid, the Queen quickly pulled it fully out and checked the final product. She lightheartedly chuckled as she held the image up in the air next to the real thing.

" Okay,Dad. That's enough. " Aiden said.

" Nah. I'll take ten more of these. " Pippy joked.

" Wait! I want one more photo. Stay still for mom. " Poppy interrupted.

After Aiden saw the flash and heard his mother's approval on keeping her second photo of them hugging, he carefully removed himself from it avoiding disrupting his sisters' enjoyment. Aiden was very much used their father's brief and every now and then hugs. After all Branch wasn't as much of a hugger as Poppy was. The blue troll still only took part in Hug Time like maybe once a day or not at all.

Harmony patted their father's hug signaling  to him that she was ready to be released from his embrace. Branch let go of both his daughters respecting their personal time limits for hugs. Pippy still went for extra quick hug which earned her Branch affectionately petting her head for couple seconds. He knew that his youngest still liked it when he did that.

" Hey Harmony! " Jinx called out happily.

Harmony's ears perked when she heard her date's voice. Her smile became softer and her eyes lit up while she turned around to see Jinx. Her friend was making his way through the dancing trolls. The music that was being played was more upbeat than the first few songs so everyone was moving more freely, which was giving Jinx a somewhat difficult time to get passed.

" What you did back there with River was awesome! And scary..." Jinx complimented impressed.

Harmony giggled over her date's choice of words and his supportiveness. Then she noticed his new and black and red suit. His jacket had an flame print pattern on it and so did the bottom of his dress pants. Underneath his jacket was a black dress shirt. When Jinx reached the princess he noticed her eyeing his suit, unknowingly triggering his nervousness to return. The male grabbed the sides of his opened jacket  and looked down at his fit worried.

" What? Is it- it too much?" Jinx asked returning his gaze to his date.

" Actually it suits you very well. It's fire. " Harmony admitted playfully.

All of Jinx's worry left him once he heard Harmony's play on words. She wouldn't make a joke like that if she didn't like it. His care free smile reappeared on his face as he made face that said " You got me there. " Harmony let out chuckle when he made that face unable to contain herself. Hearing her laugh somehow made Jinx's soul feel even lighter in that moment.

" Well you look bejeweling yourself, your Popness. " Jinx played along bowing.

Harmony briefly glanced up at her tiara when she heard the word "bejeweling". Jinx offered her his hand while readjusted his form from playfully bowing to standing. He gestured to the dance floor behind locking eyes with his friend date.

" Wanna set the dance floor a blaze?" Jinx asked smoothly.

Jinx was more relaxed than he was when he asked Harmony because, they were simply hanging out and also Rosie told him to not think of his date as a date for the whole night. Easier said than done but, it was actually working for the commoner. Jinx hoped that he could maintain the mindset during the rest of the night.

" As long as you don't burn yourself. " Harmony replied taking Jinx hand.

Jinx laughed at the reference to both his attire and his clumsyness. Poppy smiled softly as she watch the two friends make their way to join the other dancing trolls. The mother brought the camera back up to her face and took a picture of Harmony being twirled by Jinx without any issues. Branch wrapped an arm around his wife's waist pulling her closer. The pink troll happily rested her head against him as she checked if she took a good photo.

Branch watched Harmony and Jinx as they danced. For a second the clumsy troll seemed to be tripping over his own feet but,he quickly regained his balance. He gave Harmony a thumbs up as she looked at him checking if he was already. The Princess nodded her head contuining to raise her arms above her head.

" She's gonna be alright,Branchie. " Poppy reminded.

" Doesn't stop me from worrying about her or Aiden and Pippy..." Branch redirected his gaze.

His eyes landed at the desert table where his other children stood. Aiden was flirting with a random female troll. Pippy was goshing over her first dance with Dawn to Rosie while wiping away the chocolate on her face with serviette. His brother, Floyd, was also at that table too waiting for someone.

" I know. I worry about our trollings too but, we did everything we could for them. We have to let them be and make their own mistakes, Branch. " Poppy said understandingly and comfortingly.

" If you ask me you both did a great job but, I'm more a favourite uncle than a parent..." John Dory wayed in.

Branch and Poppy moved their attention to John. John laughed at his own memories of him and young Aiden and Pippy causing chaos while teenage Harmony was questioning everything. Those days were so much fun and simpler. John Dory used to babysit for the mixed couple. Just like the rest of Branch's brothers until their trollings were old enough to be in charge of themselves but, then again Harnony was always placed in charge of her sister and brother because, how much trouble Aiden and Pip easily gotten into when left alone for too long.

" Nah! I'm definitely Pippy's favourite uncle, John. Your Aiden's favourite. " Clay corrected.

" You forgot Harmony. " John pointed out.

" I'm obviously Harmony's favourite. She gave me the biggest hugs. " Spruce stated.

" The size of hugs you got don't count!" Even Pippy and Aiden gave you big hugs. They gave all of us big hugs!" John denied competitively.

" Who's gonna tell them that Floyd was actually Harmony's favourite?" Poppy whispered to Branch.

" Not me. " Branch whispered back.
