Sorry... anyway, chapter three!
Also! This chapter was supposed to be uploaded yesterday but Wattpad's servers were down for some reason so I couldn't publish it. Hopefully this doesn't happen next Wednesday.}

It's been almost a month since Eileen's phone call with Adrien, their conversations coming to a halt as they tried to be discreet about, well, him. Marinette would ask if Elliot and Hugo could have a play date but it would almost always be rejected as Eileen was too busy with the upcoming plan. Feeling dejected, Marinette kept everything to herself just until she could confront Eileen on whatever was going on.

Alya had been busy at work while Nino lounged at home, looking after their toddler son. Devan and Hugo hadn't connected like Marinette and Alya hoped but still had faith they'd be the best of friends once they were old enough to realize they were destined for it. While Alya rarely took vacation or even sick days, she had earned a little time away from work, something she politely declined once the offer came her way but after convincing her it would be all right and that it was well deserved, Alya gave in and came home that night to discover she, and a few guests, had won an exclusive trip to the mountains. (Don't ask where, I honestly have no idea. Just thought it would be a nice environmental change 😜)

"That's great, Alya!" Marinette beamed as her old best friend told her the news.

"And you're coming with! No ifs, ands, or buts!"

Nino let out a chuckle as he bounced Devan on his knee, doing his best to stifle it only to fail miserably. Alya used her elbow to nudge him in the side, not bothering to look in his direction.

"Oof! Hey, you said buts, what can I say? I've got a childish humor!"

"Yeah, we all know." Alya and Marinette shared a giggle.

"So," Alya clasped her hands together and placed them onto the table in front of her. "Pack your bags and be ready by 6! Our plane leaves at 7:30."

Nino let out a groan and rolled his eyes at the ungodly time. "You couldn't get a later time, Al? I need beauty sleep!"

"You need a hibernation, Nino." She retorted, smirking wildly at him. Nino huffed in response.

"You married me,"

"Not for your looks obviously."

Nino waved her off silently and prodded one of Devan's cheeks, making him giggle happily. Smiling at the sound, Alya turned back to Marinette.

"As fun as that sounds, I can't. Alya, you know I can't pack a bag for Hugo and I and just... leave."

"And why not? There's nothing holding you back! And besides, it'll be a nice change, get things back into order once we return. We all deserve this, you especially." Alya reached over and placed her hand onto Marinette's, a warm smile on her features.

She let out a sigh, averting her eyes from her friend. "If I say yes, will you at least give me a few hours to myself?"

Alya nodded immediately, her smile growing wider. "What do you think I'll be doing on the plane ride?"

"Alya." Marinette replied, a hint of mother nag to her tone. The other sighed softly and nodded.

"Yes, I'll give you a few hours. Nino and I will take care of Hugo then."

Nino's eyes grew wide. "Hold on," he leaned up, letting Devan's head fall onto his shoulder. "I can barely take care of this one, what makes you think I can take care of them both?"

"Relax, I'll be there so you don't screw up. Like always." The two grinned and kissed each other softly.

"Right. Like always."

Alya turned to Marinette and rolled her eyes. "Anyways, could you let Eileen and Lucas know about the time? If we miss the flight, we'll have hell to pay."

Marinette nodded. "Of course!"

Their visit had ended, Nino brought Devan to the car who had fallen asleep during the visit while Alya and Marinette stood near the door, talking briefly.

"Who knows, you might even meet some cute guy there."

Marinette shook her head at the thought and shrugged it off. "Not likely and besides, you know I won't go after someone else. It doesn't feel... right."

Alya nodded, understanding where the girl was coming from. "Right, I won't force you. We'll talk tomorrow, okay?"

The bluenette nodded with a smile and after the two had hugged, Alya was called to the car by a hyper Nino. Once they had pulled out of the driveway and drove out of sight, Marinette returned inside and checked on Hugo. He lay in his crib, asleep. His hair was disheveled, going in every which way. Marinette smiled softly as she moved a strand of black hair away from his small face.

"Come on, Marinette! We're the only ones not there!" Eileen shouted as they ran to the entrance of the airport, Marinette pushing a stroller in front of her while her bags where falling off of her shoulders.

"Sorry! I slept through my alarm!"

"How come you're only late because of sleep?" Eileen asked, moving past a few people in front of them.

Marinette shrugged and followed her as fast as she could. "I don't know! Maybe I like to sleep!"

The two ran through the airport, dodging pedestrians that stood in their way of reaching the gate. Once their destination was in sight, Eileen placed her bags where needed and helped with Marinette's along with the stroller. After walking through the security scans, both girls stood in line eagerly, waiting to move forward in the dreadfully slow line.

While waiting in line, Hugo, who was held on Marinette's hip, glanced around until his eyes caught a shiny necklace. Reaching out for it with a small hand, he clasped the object tightly and pulled forward, bringing the person with. Whoever was attached, stumbled forward until their head came in contact with the back of Marinette's head. Hearing the loud clunk, Hugo's hand let go of the necklace and he turned to face the other way.

"Hey! Watch it!" Marinette snapped, her voice heavy with sleep. Dark circles had began to appear underneath her eyes and as she turned to face the perpetrator, her eyes widened a bit.

"I-I'm sorry! But I think this little guy was the one who pulled me to you." The man chuckled softly as he repositioned the accessory. Blonde hair... bright blue eyes... she had seen eyes similar to these but she couldn't place where. Shaking the daze away, Marinette sighed and glanced at Hugo.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize he was messing with you. Say you're sorry mister!" Marinette lightly tickled Hugo's neck making him giggle in glee. The man behind her smiled at the scene in front of him.

"No worries. All is forgiven." He replied, his smile growing a bit as he gazed at Marinette.

She returned the small smile and held out her free hand. "I'm Marinette."

"I'm Cole. Nice to meet you." The two shook hands, a soft tint of pink forming across their cheeks and noses.

The time had finally came for Eileen and Marinette to board and once on the plane, Alya gave the girl a stern look which Marinette replied with a pleading look and mouthed "Sorry!".

Eileen sat next to the window, Marinette beside her in the middle seat, and the one next to her being empty for the time being. Hugo sat comfortably in Marinette's lap and reached up to play with her hair.

"I noticed that guy you were talking to. He's pretty cute." Eileen teased the girl who rolled her eyes in return. "Please, don't expect anything to happen. I doubt we'll even see each other again—"

"Ah, long time no see." Eileen and Marinette looked up and their jaws touched the floor of the plane. There standing two feet in front of them was the guy from the waiting line. Cole. The guy who had eyes Marinette thought she recognized but still couldn't place a finger on where. This would be an interesting plane ride, resulting in an even more interesting conversation between Alya and herself, one Marinette was not ready for even before the conversation had started with Cole. She could sense a disturbance coming and she was sure it would end... unexpectedly.
