Chapter 7: Vanilla special.

A\N: I guess I should have done this earlier but better late than never.

Warning: This story is a dark romance book, that means it may contain themes of strong language, physical and psychological abuse, drug abuse\addiction, depression, sexual scenes and mentions of suicide. I know it's a lot but stick with me here, I'm trying to tell you a story but it's also fine if you leave because this isn't your cup of tea.

Luke's POV.

Everyone felt freaked out by Reign's 'suicide attempt' and they decided that we all went back home the next morning, on our birthday.

None of us felt like talking the entire ride back, but as soon as we dropped Reign at her house and she got out of the car without saying anything, Ariana started talking about how we had to 'save her' while Garrett and Mason suggested that we gave her some space.

Yeah, cause, obviously, suicidal thoughts are most likely to be a contagious disease that they're so afraid to catch.

Do note the sarcasm.

Garrett and Mason decided to throw a party for me at Garrett's house since his folks aren't in town and of course, Reign didn't receive an invite.

The last time I celebrated my birthday without Reign Miller was when I was fourteen, I don't even remember shit about the day but I'll tell you this, I didn't get a present that made me feel threatened and thankful at the same time.

I can't help but wonder what she got me this year.

A gun?

Probably.

Parties are a mood, you're either into them or into the high part of them and right now I'm only into the high part even though I'm still not high.

I spot Wesley Travis in the dancing crowd, I shove my way through towards him, he's now leaning against the wall in the living room and shaking people's hands as they drift passed him.

"Hey, man," I stand in front of him, "Got anything for me?" I drop my gaze to his little waist bag.

"You didn't order," He speaks loudly over the booming music.

"I'll pay double," I say to him.

"You know double equals to a hundred for less than usual," He chews his gum in lazy strokes, I shove my hands in my pockets, in search for a hundred, I find it in my back pocket and I extend it to him.

He smirks at me, reaching his hand into his little adventure bag and hand shaking the poison into my hand as he takes the bill into his own.

"Go easy, alright?" It's a warning.

"I'll try." I pat his shoulder as I walk away towards the staircase, climbing the stairs and into Garrett's bedroom where I find two people fucking against the wall, I roll my eyes at them.

"Hey! get the fuck out!" He shouts breathlessly, he looks ridiculous with his pants down, ass out, shirt on, legs wrapped around his waist.

Geez, amateur hour.

I ignore him. Both of them.

I leave the door open, walking to Garrett's desk. I release the white powder from it's carrier, making a line using Garrett's rule.

I can't help but wonder how I got to this point, coke can literally stop my heart in a second but I don't think I give a shit sometimes.

I lean my head over the desk, sniffing the white powder into my nose in one sharp inhale, I pinch my nose as I feel it sting and I shut my eyes to welcome the feeling.

I sit on the floor, leaning my back against Garrett's bed, I open my eyes to look at the couple, they're gone and the door is closed. Good.

My phone vibrates in my pocket, I pull it out, looking at the notification from Instagram.

Peter Grayson is live on Instagram.

I click on it because I have nothing better to do.

It's a live video of Reign dancing with an old man at Shake n' Sip, more like teaching him how to dance with his hips.

I reply with a weird asf.

"Who's Rei's bf? Or gf?" He DMS me.

"Don't know, don't care." I reply.

"Can you please come give her a ride home?"

"She has legs, doesn't she?"

"She's mixing milkshakes with vodka, too drunk to walk home alone."

I scrunch my face in disgust.

"Why can't you give her a ride?"

"I have to close up around 10 and I don't own a car, are you coming or should I text that Andy dude instead?"

"That Andy dude is a douche, I'll be there, don't let her drink anymore of that stuff."

Now I have to ditch my own party.

Great.

*********************

I enter the shop and I spot her salsa dancing with Peter who seems to really suck at it, she notices my presence and she pauses.

"Lukey!" She squeaks, flying her arms sideways and launching towards me.

"Don't you dare," I raise a warning finger but she wraps her arms around me tightly.

Ah geez.

"Rich kids know how to dance salsa, right?" She drags my arm, peter is now sitting down, panting like he's just from running laps.

Reign picks up a milkshake cup, I'm guessing it's the one that has vodka in it.

"No, no, no more of that," I try to take the cup from her but she holds on to it with both hands.

"But it's my special vanilla special," She whines, pouting. "Extra special because of the vodka," she whispers, "Taste it," She pushes the thing to my lips, I jerk my head away.

"Put the fucking cup down." I demand.

"Why'd you have to be so grumpy all the time?" She pouts like a kid.

"Let's go," I set the cup on the table, dragging her hand.

"Go where?" She stands still.

"Reign, I seriously have more important things to do," I say.

"Like getting your dick wet?" She rolls her eyes at me.

"Yes, like that, now unless you plan on doing it yourself, let's go." I demand.

"You're disgusting, I would never," She wrinkles her nose, walking passed me towards the exit.

"Says the girl that was mixing milkshakes with vodka," I mumble, following her outside the store.

She gets inside my car like she owns it, I settle in the driver's seat, backing out of the parking space and driving off. I feel her glare on the side of my face when I speed the car.

"Hey, Luke?" She calls.

"We don't have to talk, we can just sit in silence." I slow down.

"If they really did give a shit about me like you said then why didn't they just dump me and tell me that I wasn't invited to the stupid party?" she asks.

"That party was shit, Reign, you should be glad you weren't there," I say.

"I mean I really don't care, I don't even like parties but I can't help but feel a sense of betray, you know? I mean I get it, they think I'm suicidal and they suddenly want nothing to do with me because of it but they did claim to be my friends since the first day of high school."

"Who said they want nothing to do with you?" I look at her.

"I heard them, this morning before we left. Garrett and Ariana," She points out.

"I'm sure they didn't mean it like that," I lie.

"They did, I'm not supposed to give a shit but I do," She looks out the window.

"Stop crying, you look like one of those ghosts from Supernatural." I joke, she turns her head to look at me, she releases a small laugh.

"Luke Richardson has seen Supernatural, cool." She looks amused, "I don't think we can ever fix this friendship though."

"I think you just-"

"Oh my God, stop the car," She cuts me off, staring at the theatre building through the windshield.

"No."

"Luke, they're showing Wrong turn stop the car!" She shakes my arm, I roll my eyes, jerking the car into the parking lot in front of the building, she immediately opens the car door and rushes towards the building without shutting the door.

Damnit.
