Chapter 24: Forced Vacation.
Luke's POV.
"This view is insane," My sister Cassandra takes a picture of the ocean as the swirling waves crash against the shore.
I'm guessing it's for her Instagram followers who have nothing else to do with their lives, well, other than stalk rookie celebrities like her.
"The view is the insane part to you? How about the fact that our mother forced us to come on this stupid family vacation in the middle of a school semester?" I point out.
"Why are you surprised? Mom always pulls shit like this when she and Dad have a big fight, it's a way of telling herself that her life is not so bad." She leans her head back on the lounge chair and closes her eyes.
"Yeah, well, instead of dragging me into their shit, they should see a couple's therapist or better yet, get a god damn divorce like every other broken marriages out there," I push my sunglasses to the bridge of my nose, raising my brows at the tall half naked brunette modeling towards the beach bar area, "Damn," I stare at her curvy ass.
Miami is the shit.
"You're into brunettes now?" I hear Zoe ask, I look at her, clearing my throat and adjusting my sunglasses.
"I'm into all hair colors," I respond, she laughs.
"Untrue, everyone has a type but you have a type," she giggles.
"Like everyone else, yeah," I whisper underneath my tone, "As I was saying, Cass, our parents don't love each other anymore and our mother is fucking depressed, that woman needs help," I say, she rolls her eyes at me.
"They love each other just fine, Luke, you don't know anything about them cause you're never around them." She says.
"Gee, Cassandra, you hear yourself?"
"Can we talk about anything other than our fucked up family?" She asks, shielding her face with her hand and squinting her eyes.
"Like what?" I sigh, looking up at the bright sun through my glasses.
"I have a feeling that you don't know he's gonna be here." She says.
"Who?" I try to sound invested.
"Wesley." She says the name with a smirk on her face, that name makes me wanna fucking scream my lungs out.
"Who's that?" I act dumb.
"Our brother, the young and successful entrepreneur, I know you saw the article about him." She half laughs, nudging me.
"Young and successful my ass." I bring myself to my feet.
"Where are you going?" She asks.
"I need a drink." I respond without looking back.
I really don't wanna be here but I could definitely get used to sandy beaches, warm beautiful weather and hot chicks with nice asses.
I reach the open bar, the girl from earlier is sitting on a stool, drinking a strawberry margarita in a highball glass and a little umbrella on it.
I take the third seat away from hers, ordering three shots of vodka, thankfully the bartender doesn't ask for my ID, he goes straight to fetch my drink.
I feel her eyes on the side of my face but I pull out my phone instead of giving her my attention.
Not exactly in the mood for pussy today.
There are four missed calls and five texts from Mason.
I scroll through the texts.
Pretty boring but one text catches my attention.
"Reign and I are going to a naked party but with our clothes on because we're both naked shy, is it okay if I pick up a random chick and maybe bang her in your car?"
Dude.
Why did he have to remind me about Reign? I totally forgot about her for a second there.
I ruffle my hair, reliving the events of that kiss over and over again.
I had kissed a lot of girls before Reign but I swear to God, I didn't know a kiss could make me feel all those things at the same time.
Fuck, if I knew just how good her mouth tasted, I could have kissed her earlier.
I didn't even mean to kiss her, I was avoiding her and it was working just fine for me but then my demons acted for me and it just happened.
She and I really have to fuck each other before I lose it.
"Hi," The brunette girl is now sitting next to me.
"Hey." I place the phone on the counter, taking one of my shots.
She takes off my glasses, and stares into my eyes.
"You have such beautiful eyes." She says flirtatiously, I laugh because what the fuck was that? Who talks like that?
Why is she being so straight forward? it's a big major turn off. Not that I'm judging or anything but no.
"Thanks?" I slowly nod at her.
"I'm going to this elite club later, you wanna come?" She asks, sipping her drink and keeping eye contact.
I notice how she put emphasis on the word come.
I'm so using that on Reign the next time I invite her to something.
"What kind of poison are elite clubs usually found with?" I question.
She shows me a successful smirk, "All the poison in the world."
"Okay but just so you know, I'm literally eighteen and I have a girlfriend so I'm not gonna fuck you at any point." I lie, shaking my head.
"Are you trying to tell me that eighteen year old guys don't go to elite parties or cheat?" She gasps sarcastically, slapping her hand against her chest.
"No, sweetheart, I'm telling you that I'm trying my best not to be that guy." I shrug, she laughs, she has a nice laugh, I smile at her laugh.
"Luke?" I hear someone call behind me, I twist my head to look.
Mom.
"Ah shit." I look down at the shots, downing them at the same time.
"What are you doing?" She asks, her steps nearing.
"Hey.... Mom," I turn on my seat.
"Mom?" The brunette giggles.
"Yes, Mom." Mom glares at the girl, "You've got to be kidding me." She sighs, looking down at the empty glasses in front of me on the counter.
"Yeah so here's the thing... I didn't pay for the drinks and I don't have any money on me." I tell her, giving my head a little shake.
She opens her purse, pulling out two bills and slapping them on the counter, "Don't sell alcohol to minors," She points at the frozen bartender, "Let's go." She demands.
I slide off the seat, "Bye.. uh, what's your name?" I point at her.
"Vanessa Kennedy, look me up or whatever." Her eyes go round, smiling.
"I'll do that." I walk backwards, staring at her.
"Luke!"
"I'm coming," I jog up to her, she immediately pinches my ear like I'm ten or something.
"Drinking in daylight at the beach and flirting with girls that look like that?! what's wrong with you?" She let's go and I rub my ear.
"I don't know, Mom, what else do people on forced vacation do?" I roll my eyes as we make our way back to the hotel suite since Cass is no longer on the beach.
We walk in silence because Mom is pissed off and she can't wait for us to get to the hotel and tell me off.
We take the elevator up to our floor and I respond to one of Mason's texts.
"Don't do anything nasty in my car."
She opens the suite with a key card and we walk in, being welcomed by a series of moans and groans, I avert my eyes from my phone and narrow them in confusion.
"Cassandra!" She walks further in as I close the door and smile at the upcoming drama.
The noises stop and my sister comes out with a half naked guy, both looking sex crazed.
"Out!" Mom points at the door while glaring at the guy, he quickly hurries to the door and I get out of his way.
"Were you just having sex in here?" Mom questions in disbelief, folding her arms over her chest. I scratch my nose, looking elsewhere.
"It's just sex, Mom, don't be dramatic." She walks to the living area, Mom and I follow.
"You're sixteen, Cassandra! Fucking sixteen years old! God, do you understand that? what is wrong with you kids?!" She shouts angryly.
I drop myself on the cream white Micheal Jackson sofa.
"I don't know, Mom, maybe don't force us to go places in order to get rid of your depression?" Says Cass, standing by the window excuse for a wall.
"Literally what I said." I mumble.
Mom runs both her hands through her hair, pacing the room.
"Where did I go wrong? Please, tell me where I went wrong." She's now becoming dramatic.
I stifle a laugh while Cassandra rolls her eyes at our mother.
"I never wanted you kids to turn out this way," She rubs her forehead.
"And which way is that?" A voice asks behind me, every bone in my body turns rigid.
I know he's standing behind the sofa so I don't turn to look.
"Your brother is on hard drugs, literally comes home drunk every single night, I have to check his pulse more than four times every night and your sister is acting out, she's sleeping around and clubbing like she's twenty-five," She actually answers his stupid question.
Cass looks at our mother in disbelief then she looks at me in a can you believe this shit kind of way, I just shrug.
"Kids, why are you making mom's life difficult?" He comes to sit next to me, I don't even spare him a glance.
He called us 'kids' he's only twenty-two and he thinks he can call us kids because he succeeded at stealing Dad's money and getting away with it.
"I'm gonna go to my room," I stand.
"No no no, stay," he grabs my hand.
"Don't fucking touch me," I wreck my hand out of his grasp, walking away.
He chuckles behind me, "Still a little coward, huh?"
I halt, turning around and shoving my hands in my pockets.
"Your girlfriend was cheating on you for five years, I'm one of the people she cheated on you with, bro, coward is not what she was screaming when I hit that again and again."
"Son of a bitch!" He pushes out of his seat, launching towards me.
Mom and Cass both stand in front of him, holding him back.
"I'm gonna kill you! You little shit!" He grits, pointing at me.
I smirk, "I'm right here, you pussy, come and get me."
"Luke, leave." Mom orders, I scoff at her in shock. "Walk away, right now!"
"Or.. Wes can leave, Mom, Jesus." Says Cass.
"Shut up, Cassandra," She looks at her then back at me, "Luke Richardson, I said leave!" She seethes.
"And you wonder why Dad keeps doing the things he does," I comment, turning to leave.
