Chapter Two

Jorel's POV.

"Dude that's fucking gross." I laughed and shook my head at Jordon. He smiled back at me totally drunk out of his damn mind.

He laughed and tossed me another beer, "What? It all comes out the same way." He shrugged his shoulders then stuffed another bite of his sandwich in his mouth. My stomach turned at the sight. Now if you're wondering why I'm totally grossed out right now it because Jordon made a sandwich out of tuna fish, mashed potatoes, and a fried steak patty. Just the ingredients themselves make my stomach hurt, but the fact that he put them together in a sandwich was even worse.

I sighed and gathered up the papers that I had been filling out and headed out to the back porch where George was sitting.

"Hey do you mind helping me with these?" I asked as I pulled up a chair next to him. He nodded his head and took the papers from me.

"Alright for this you just have to fill out what insurance plan you want to put her on, your financial status, and so on." He said and took a different paper. I nodded and began to fill it out. "Hey I know some of the stuff on here, do you want me to fill some of this out?"

"Yeah sure. Thanks man." A smile tugged at my lips.

An hour passed and soon both me and George had majority of the paperwork filled out when Matt came running outside. His eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his skull.

I laughed at him softly and said, "Dude what wrong with you?"

"Aron.. hospital.. Brooklyn. Now!!"

It took me a second to try and figure out what he was trying to tell me, then it all finally clicked with me.

"Which one?!" I asked him as me and George followed him inside.

"Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center."

"What's the address?" I asked Matt as we ran through the house. George tossed me the keys to my truck as we ran out the front door.

"1300 North Vermont Avenue."

Three hours later I waited nervously for someone to tell me how Brooklyn was doing, but no one would tell me anything. All that they told me when I arrived is that she was being prepped for surgery and that I wasn't allowed back to see her yet. I became so anxious that I ended up pacing up and down the hallway for two hours.

"Mr. Decker?"

I stopped pacing and went up to the doctor that was standing at the doors to the Emergency Room. He smiled sadly at me and motioned for me to follow him. We ended up going to an office at the end of the hall.

"Please have a seat." He said gesturing to the large comfy chair that sat in front of his desk. I nodded and sat down. He didn't say anything as he slid a piece of paper towards me.

"...Brooklyn" I whispered feeling my heart clench tightly. For the longest time I couldn't seem to find my voice as I read over the report. "W-what happened exactly?" My throat felt dry as I re-read her injuries.

"Some girls in her group home ganged up on her and attacked her this morning during breakfast, then she went AWOL. We don't know how but she ended up over in an alley on Franklin and Highland. A man by the name of Aron Erlichman stayed with her until an ambulance could pick her up."

Tears pricked my eyes. There was no way that this was happening to my baby sister. She's never told me that she was having problems with the girls in her group home. I glanced up and asked if I could have a copy of the report.

"You may and in about an hour or so she's supposed to be discharged," he said over his shoulder. "So you might wanna hurry down to her room to take her home."

I wasted no time with trying to wrap my mind around this whole situation and ran for the door. As I ran out the office I wiped away the tears that had fallen down my face. I didn't want her to see me cry, I had to be the big tough older brother.

"Well? How is she?" I asked frantically when I reached the nurses station. The nurse smiled reassuringly at me and motioned for me to follow her. It was then that I noticed that the guys were waiting by the desk along with Reese, Vanessa and Randi. They trailed behind me and the nurse telling the girls about the current situation. I had to be honest when I say that I was surprised to see Reese was here considering that her and Danny were having some issues with one another.

We came to a stop outside one of the rooms and the nurse called over a Doctor. He looked to be in his late fifties and had the beginnings of grey hair. He too have me a reassuring smile.

"Mr. Decker you're sister will be just fine. She did suffer a large amount of blood loss from being hit by a broken metal chair leg, which caused the base of her skull to split open." The Doctor paused to take in my facial expression along with Vanessa's, whom now stood by my side. V gripped my hand firmly and gave me a hug. The Doctor smiled again before continuing. "She responded well to the pain killers that we gave her, and the surgery went as planned. Currently she is knocked out from being sedated but should be waking shortly." He nodded his head at Brooke laying in her bed. "You may go sit with her."

"Thank you." I said quietly and went to sit by Brooklyn. Vanessa pulled up a chair right next to me and rubbed circles in my back. The guys all brought in chairs to sit and Reese left to go get a few Get Well cards and some stuffed animals for us to give Brooke. I liked that all the guys showed up to support me, it meant that I had made the right decision to let Brooklyn stay with me and Vanessa.

A couple hours came and went without any movement from Brooke. My whole body began to get restless with anticipation for her to wake up. But by the fourth hour I really began to panic.

"What if they missed something?" I asked softly and reached out to hold her freezing hand. When my hands settled around her hands so many questions filled my mind. Yeah hospitals can be cold at times, but Brooklyn's hand felt like an icebox. "What if something went wrong and they didn't catch it?" Beside me I heard Vanessa sigh heavily and lean her head on my back. She continued to rub my back in an attempt to calm me down.

"Babe she's gonna pull through. She's your sister so I know she's tough." Vanessa whispered in my ear then kissed my cheek lightly. I smiled back at her. This is why I love this woman, she's always very supportive of me and knows just what to say in times of trouble. I sighed and leaned back in the chair. This is going to be the longest day of my life.

Eventually Vanessa fell asleep on my shoulder and Dylan ended up sitting right by Brooklyn's head and kept talking to her.

"Dude she can't hear you." I said slightly annoyed. Dylan met my gaze, he had tears in his eyes. Well damn. Now I feel like the bad guy.

"They say that if you talk to people like you normally would they'll wake up." I nodded and let him go back to talking with Brooklyn. Every now and then I would hear Dylan say my name to her along with Vanessa's. What is this fucker telling her? I moved in my chair slightly so that I could hear what Dylan was saying.

"You'll like your room, Jay had Vanessa and Matt fix it all up for you. We all kind of took a guess of what color you'd want the walls to be; they're purple by the way." He laughed and rubbed her hand that didn't have an IV stuck in it. "We all got you some clothes from our clothing lines too. I hope that you end up liking us still, cause I think that's all the clothes that we have for you right now."

I felt my chest clench again as I listened to Dylan speak. Come on Brooke, you gotta wake up.

"Oh and Jay is dating Vanessa now. I don't know if he told you that or not. He asked her out a few months ago. Personally I think that she's just pitying him cause who would wanna date him right?" Dylan glanced up at me for a second and smiled then continued. I think he knew that I was listening to him.

"But anyway we're all here for you Brooklyn. You've got to wake up okay? So many people want to see you. I know it's tough but you gotta fight this. Don't leave us just yet." Dylan's usually steady voice cracked at the end. He wiped a tear away from his cheek.

"That was really cool of you to say." I said. Dylan just shrugged and went to find the Doctor.

After a while he finally returned and said that we could bring back George and the rest of the guys.
