December Thirtieth: Fake Fur

A/N: Happy Belated New Year! How are my wonderful Greekies? I hope your doing well! I just remembered that Hel shares the same birthday as Smoldy Moldy so ehehe... I swear to the river Styx that wasn't intentional, but I guess it's cool! The aesthetic above was created by @slytherxn_ and I personally adore it! This chapter is 3k words long, and twice as long as I expected it to b XD.

Sirius laughed as Hel got very offended by a comic.

"I do not look like that!" Hel exclaimed angrily as her eyes were glued on the sheet of coloured paper.

"I think it's hot when you're angry," Sirius said in a teasing tone before Hel raised an eyebrow at him. He giggled before he shut right up.

It was the fifth day after Christmas break, and everyone was just relaxing. There was no school, so why not? Of course, the Dark Ones could be tormenting the students back at Hogwarts, but Peter had been frequently checking the map, and said it didn't look like students were going missing.

Pandora, Lily, Elorie, and Declan were all on the fourth floor in the dressing room. Sirius was sure Declan just didn't really want to deal with a hyperactive James and was letting him get down from his sugar high. Sirius himself was just recovering from a sugar-high. He and James had snuck into the dining room and ate most of the cookies and candies there early in the morning. Needless to say, Hel, Declan, Remus and Pandora were not impressed.

Sirius had his head in Hel's lap (it was his favourite spot to lay) as she read one of the Marvel comics Elorie got her. Sirius had considered getting her the comics but would've preferred to have his bollocks intact. Watching her reactions was fun though, and dare he say, adorable.

"That helmet looks like antlers! I'm wearing Prongs on my head!" Hel said and Sirius just laughed.

"You called?" James asked with a wide grin.

"No," Hel said sternly, which made James go back to examining the map with Remus and Peter.

Sirius just bumped His hand with his head, and Hel reached her hand over to pet his hair. Sirius practically purred (purring was for cats though) as Hel ran her fingers through his hair, then felt her stories get much more aggressive. He assumed that she had found -- yet another -- bad thing about the comic. Sirius thought she was secretly enjoying the comics though since she has a hint of a smile on her face. Plus whenever she rubbed her locket when she was reading, Sirius could feel she was just a little bit happy.

Sirius heard light footsteps come from the stairs (he identified them as Lily's. It was a habit he had from living in Grimmauld place to recognize everyone forms their footsteps) as Lily happily poked her head out.

"Remus?" Lily asked grinning, and Remus looked up, blinking fast.

"Yeah Lils?" He asked as he buttoned up his cardigan. Sirius was sure that Remus owned a cardigan for every day of the year (plus he had gotten even more at Christmas). Heck, he even owned those cardigans with those different coloured elbow things. The boys used to joke that Remus was a teacher in disguise, and they all pitched in to buy him a briefcase that said "Professor R.J. Lupin" on it back in the third year. Not that he would ever use it, he wasn't really sure what he wanted to be. Sirius thought he'd be an excellent teacher though, a sassy teacher was one very kid loved. Or maybe a healer, like James wanted to be.

"What's your favourite colour?" Lily asked innocently as she leaned against the wall of the foyer.

Remus narrowed his eyes at Lily's innocent look. Sirius was sure that after years of being friends with the Marauders, he knew an innocent look was not a good one. Before Remus answered, he reached beside him and brought out the wedding book Lily had gotten for Christmas, he flipped through the first few pages and smirked in victory.

"Well, my favourite colour is forest green, but you could go with brown, red or gold if you wanted," Remus said as his eyes quickly scanned a page, "Just don't plan the entire thing without me," he added as he looked up.

Lily smiled in thanks before going back to where she came from, the staircase. Sirius then watched as Hel secretly smiled. Sirius knew that she was a complete sucker for weddings, she even admitted it to him the day after Christmas Day, he personally thought it was adorable. His Hel, the almighty queen of the underworld (and supposedly supposed to be a ruthless ruler), was a sucker for romantic things like engagements and weddings, how adorable.

Sirius prodded Hel's hand with his nose and Hel just scoffed before putting her hand back on his head (she had removed her hand just a few seconds before). Moments later, James decided to open his mouth.

"You know, when Dec and I get older maybe we'll get another cat," James said brightly and jumped at the dirty looks he got.

"Mate how could you!" Sirius exclaimed as he clutched his chest dramatically, "And I thought we were brothers!"

"I'm allergic, Prongs," Remus said in an offended tone.

"I'm a rat," Peter said, which pretty much summed his whole argument up in Sirius' opinion.

"No cats," Sirius said in a final tone and he heard Hel snicker form above

James held his hands up in surrender, "Okay! Alright! I get it!" he said, then seemed to have a revelation, "But what about Nightfall?" he asked.

Sirius looked to the other boys, and to Hel, who was holding back giggles. Sirius thought for a moment before coming up with an idea. It was actually pretty smart in his opinion

"We get no cats, expect for Nightfall and Minnie if she ever visits us. Also, Remus has to take that weird-smelling allergy potion every day or else his eyes swell up to the size of Pandora's double-sized chocolate fudge cupcakes," Sirius proclaimed with a haughty tone, his eyes closed and a finger raised in the air.

He one eye and looked at the other boys. Sirius could see how they were physically trying not to giggle. Seconds later though, James burst out laughing, which prompted Sirius to start giggling, Peter broke a smile, and Remus chuckled in exasperation. Sirius looked up and saw that even Hel was silently giggling.

Sirius just sighed before looking over to Hel's comics, she was nearing the end of it. Sirius poked her hand with his finger, and she made a noise that meant she was listening.

"Do you have to go to Asgard today?" Sirius asked sadly, and he heard Hel sigh.

"Yes love, I have to go back to Asgard," Hel said as she finished her comic and placed it beside her, giving Sirius a full view of her gorgeous face. She didn't have her illusion, it didn't matter, she was gorgeous no matter what to him, dead or not.

"Why?" Sirius asked.

"Because my birthdays tomorrow, you know this. I want to spend it with my family," Hel explained slowly.

"I understand," Sirius said, and he did. Of course, he'd want to spend his birthday with his family. Of course, on the day of his birthday, his mum and dad (Mr and Mrs Potter) weren't at Hogwarts. But Remus, James, Pandora, Elorie and Peter all were, so that was family enough. Of course,  Hel was there too, so bonus points

"You can come, you know if you want. Just pray to Heimdall, or my father, or my mother or my grandmother, or my uncle Thor, my aunt Sif, me, anyone at Asgard that isn't Odin really, and you could come," Hel said smiling. Sirius could tell she was quite hopeful he would as well.

Sirius pretended to think about it, but, in reality, he wasn't. He knew his answer full and well, "Of course I'm coming," He said happily as he got his head from out of Hel's lap to sit next to her.

Sirius moved Hel's face gently with his forefinger and thumb holding her chin so that she would face him. He gently leaned in and pressed a kiss to her lips. Sirius smiled in the kiss as he felt Hel slowly move closer to him. He could faintly taste the chocolate and oranges on her lips from when she was drinking orange hot chocolate and he gently moved his hand to the back of her head, cradling it slightly.

Sirius broke away with a grin when he felt a pillow hit him square in the back of the bed. "Get a room!" James, Remus, and (a quieter) Peter shouted, and Sirius just chuckled before pressing a quick kiss to Hel's lips.

"I'm going to see what the girls, and Declan, are doing," Hel said as she got up. Sirius knew that his parents were outside, so he briefly changed into his animagus form (everyone said he was black German Shepherd, But he personally thought he was a New Shep, a Newfoundland and German Shepard mix). Hel just chuckled and pressed a kiss to his snout before saying, "Be a good boy."

Sirius grinned as a dog before prancing over to Remus and James to get some attention once Hel had left.

𝕳𝖊𝖑'𝖘 𝕻𝖔𝖎𝖓𝖙 𝖔𝖋 𝖁𝖎𝖊𝖜:

Hel just sighed with a smile as she went up the stairs, careful to not trip on her robes as she went up. She knew full well that Sirius was probably still in his animagus form, out seeking attention from someone else. She smiled at the thought of an adorable black dog with those big puppy dog eyes going up to Remus or James and just poking them with that cute snout of his to get some attention.

Hel shook her head, she was going soft, wasn't she? Sirius Black was slowly dulling her sharp edges with his soft touch. It wasn't like she could just resist an adorable face and an adorable dog. She'd like to see anyone try to resist that perfect face and his matching adorable dog face. Anyone who could, she would willingly give up her title as Queen of Helheim to that person. Her position wasn't in Jeopardy though, because nobody could resist Sirius Black. (Perhaps Pandora or Remus or James, But they didn't count since none of them wanted the title as Queen of Helheim anyway.)

Hel shook her head at herself before arriving on the fourth floor. She went all the way down the hallway to where the dressing room was, and opened the door, popping her head in.

She found Elorie dressing up a very frustrated looking Declan in a lovely suit she must've gotten from the men's dressing room. Lily and Pandora were sitting where Hel and Pandora sat to watch Lily pose in her gowns. Hel then looked over to where Declan was and smirked, mocking him.

"I lost a bet," Declan said, "I lost a bet alright? I never make bets, this is why I never make bets," he said as Elorie just grinned.

"Nah, I can make a friend do anything. Plus I know things," Elorie said smiling.

Hel just shook her head, "I'm not going to tell anyone. I'll take it to my grave," she said sincerely. She was lying. Of course, she'd use it for blackmail if she had to.

Hel just ignored the two before going over to where Pandora and Lily were. There was an empty chair beside Pandora, so she took a seat, making sure her skirt wasn't caught up in the back.

"Planning the wedding already?" Hel asked, and she smiled at Pandora's pure smile.

"Might as well, were on holiday, we should have fun," Pandora said.

"What have you got so far?" Hel asked she brushed a stray hair from her face as she looked at Pandora's book.

Pandora looked through her book, "Well, we've — you already know this — decided on a fall wedding, hopefully, next year if we can. I know there's a war and everything, but everyone needs to have fun every once in a while. Plus, Remus and I thought, anything could happen to us you know? We're probably going to actively fight in this war, might as well get married before we, you know, might die. It could happen any moment you know? My family and I are blood traitors, Remus is a half-blood, and a werewolf, we're targets," Pandora explained, then moved on quickly, clearly not wanting to dwell on the sad bits and move on to the happier aspect, "Anyhow, enough with the sad parts. This is a wedding, it's supposed to be happy and joyful, the celebration of two people being bonded together ..."

If Hel was being honest, and she didn't like doing that, she could only vaguely hear what Pandora was saying. She was just a bit too preoccupied with the fact that any of her friends could be killed at any moment because most of them were not pureblood, and the ones that were pureblood were blood traitors.

Hels blood ran cold at the idea of seeing one of her friends' spirits in the afterlife so soon. Would it be Lily? Or Maelyn? Or Pandora? Or Remus? Or even James for goodness sakes! (Not that she concerned him a friend, more of an acquaintance she did not hate) or, oh Norns forbid, Sirius. What would she do then? Well, of course, she'd guide them through the beginning of their afterlife like a good friend. No doubt they'd end up in Heaven, or Valhalla, or Elysium, or A'aru, or wherever she didn't care, it would be a good place. If not, she'd personally vouch for them.

Hel still didn't like the idea about them dying though, especially when she couldn't do anything about it, even if she was a death goddess. She just pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind as she listened in on the last bits of what Pandora was saying.

"I don't know who I want as maid of honour -- or man of honour -- to be though. I don't know if Remus wants James or Sirius or Peter, although, I might just choose Lily or someone like that. But who knows maybe Remus wants you, Lils, to be his best woman. You're the manliest out of the Marauders anyway," Pandora finished, and He just pretended like she heard every detail Pandora had talked about. Of course, she understood the basic gist of it, but she quickly excused herself to the closets to get her mind off of death.

Hel went to the nearer closet, and the first thing she saw was a luxurious black robe. The kind you wore after you've murdered your husband to gain his fortune. She was sure she owned one like it back home, but she absolutely adored the one in front of her. The bottom and the ends of the sleeves had lovely fur on it, and before even touching the fur, Hel checked to see if it was fake. She checked the tag, and thank goodness it was fake fur, she quickly put it on and came out like the queen she was.

"Aww, that looks so pretty!" Lily said with a smile as she looked up.

"Who died?" Declan asked sarcastically.

"Haven't decided just who yet, you're on my list though," Hel said in the same tone, then Elorie decided to speak up about death as well.

"Isn't that the kind of robe you wear after you've murdered your fourth husband?" She asked, smacking her red lips together.

"I was thinking more seventh husband," Hel said as she elegantly sat down in her seat, one leg on top of the other.

Elorie snickered, "Sirius better watch out," she said as she showed off Declan like one of those muggle ken dolls.

Lily clapped politely and Pandora just laughed a bit before clapping as well.

"I'm going to gauge out a reaction from the boys," Hel said before she shadow-travelled near the end of the stairs. She wanted that extra bit of extra-ness that came with walking down the stairs after all. Plus, she was happy to say that she was able to do about four to five small jumps a day, which was a big accomplishment to her, about to be seventeen and all.

Hel walked down the steps, one foot in front of the other as her robe dragged out slightly behind her. She came into the room and found a happy looking Padfoot with his head in Remus' lap and his butt in James' lap. Hel smiled as Padfoot happily turned into Sirius, who took a seat on the sofa (in his own spot).

"Hey, isn't that the sort of robe you wear when you murder your tenth husband?" James asked, being the oblivious little boy he was, he did not realize Hel was trying very much to see if she could make Sirius get a boner without touching him. (Of course, she's joking, not about James being oblivious a bit though, he was utterly oblivious.)

"I was thinking more thirteenth husband, and the boundaries aren't just husbands you know, it's any man who annoys you," Hel informed James as she went over to Sirius and sat beside him, letting the end of her fur-trimmed sleeve lay in his lap along with her hand as she leaned into him.

Sirius grinned before eyeing the fur as if it gave him some personal offence. Hel knew his question before he asked it, "It's obviously fake fur," she said and Sirius grinned.

"In that case," he said as he took Hel's hand.

Hel smiled as he quickly led her up the staircase, she let her robe trailing behind her just so slightly for that extra bit of superiority as she let Sirius lead her. Sirius harshly opened the door to the extra room he was staying in for the time being (he and James had compromised that James and Declan would sleep in Sirius and James' room while Sirius and Hel took the one right next to them) and lead Hel in, slamming the door behind him. In stark contrast, he kissed Hel gently as he ran his hands along with the fabric of the robe, trialling from the collar to her waist.

"Can you keep this on?" Sirius asked, his lips next to Hels ear.

Hel smirked, "Another kink?" she asked ina teasing tone, "But of course," she said. She didn't have to leave until later on in the day after all. They had time to have some fun before she went home.
