° Chapter 6 •

Audrey gave Belle a goodbye hug after the day was over.

"I could walk you home," Audrey offered.

"No! I mean, no thanks. I can manage just fine," Belle smile weakly.

Audrey tilted her head slightly, confused. "Are you sure? It's getting dark out early as it gets colder."

"I'm sure I can manage. I've walked around this town plenty to know where I'm going," Belle gave her another hug then hurried out the door.

"Alright.. goodbye Belle. Can't wait for Saturday!" Audrey watched her leave. She locked the door and flipped the sign to closed, walking back over to the counter to clean up.

"You guys are so cute together," Zuri popped up from behind the counter.

"Zuri! You scared me!" Audrey playfully pushed her over.

"You should see yourself when you're with her! You're smiling like a dork constantly!" Zuri laughed.

"Just help me finish cleaning up," Audrey rolled her eyes and flicked Zuri's frizzled hair.

"Oh fine little miss clean." Zuri helped Audrey restack books then sweep up the floor before heading upstairs.

"You got a toothbrush? I forgot mine at home," Zuri asked.

Audrey had asked Zuri to stay the night so she could help plan the date for Saturday. Zuri was what she called herself, a love expert. Audrey highly doubted that, but she did know a lot about dating.

Zuri jumped onto the bed next to Audrey, who was looking up locations nearby for a date. "Find anything yet?"

Audrey shook her head, "Nope. Nothing that would be good for Belle. There's a movie theater, a zoo, cliffing diving, all that. Nothing for Belle."

"Why not just take her to a fancy restaurant? You don't need sight to have fun there," Zuri suggested.

"Ooh, you're right. But there's no fancy restaurant in any walking distance here, and my car is still in the shop after someone ran into it."

"Damn, I hate hit and runs. Did they catch the guy?"

"Unfortunately, no. Luckily I have insurance. So glad my mom helped me with it."

"You're lucky to have such supportive parents."

"Did you come out to your dads yet?"

"No, it's difficult. You've had it figured out though, how do you know?"

Audrey shrugged, "I just do."

Zuri laid back on the pillow and sighed. "Lucky."

Audrey closed the laptop and plugged it in before turning off the light and crawling under the covers. Zuri rolled over and fell asleep quickly.

Audrey smiled and took a deep breath. She smells like cinnamon.
