Chapter Twenty-Eight: The Sexy Failure

I awakened to two gorgeous black orbs staring at me. Ours legs were intertwined, and his arms were still firmly wrapped around my waist. I could feel the butterflies rampaging on in my stomach. I slightly yawned. “Good morning.” I smiled.

He pecked my lips. “Morning.” I scooted closer to him, not ready to be awake yet. His hand fiddled with the back of his shirt. “You look sexy wearing that.”

“I know,” I smirked. I liked this. Just me and Sasuke, being in his embrace. At this moment, nothing could go wrong. Not with him holding me against his naked, oh-so-sexy chest. My fingertip traced circles on the contours of his stomach. “You look amazing without it…” I said, mainly to myself. He didn’t say anything, just played with my bright red hair.

The blanket was suddenly ripped off are half naked bodies, letting the cold air hit the bare skin of my legs. “Okay, kiddos. Let’s go!” Kakashi’s voice boomed over me. I ignored him, wrapping my arms around Sasuke, trying to keep warm.

Kakashi huffed and exited the room. Five minutes later Sakura bounded into the room. Her expression was hilarious when she saw me cuddled up next to Sasuke, wearing his shirt. Her jaw literally dropped to the ground.

“Sasuke, what are you doing with that tramp?” Tears welled in her eyes. Sasuke kissed me on the forehead, then the lips. It was obviously for show, but I enjoyed it, nonetheless. Not even Sakura could ruin this moment, it was way to perfect. “The only tramp I see, is you.” He replied.

“That’s why she’s wearing your shirt? Last time I checked, I’m not easy. But, she is. Look at the way she’s throwing herself at you!” She yelled. Kakashi returned to the room with a muffin in hand, looking highly entertained. I kept waiting for him to pull down his mask to eat the muffin, but he never did. Just watched the scene before him.

“How could you say that!? We are destined to be together!” She looked pissed. For once it wasn’t at me. More like because I was the one in bed with Sasuke and not her. Me being with the Uchiha brought a smile to my face. I hid it in Sasuke’s chest. I didn’t want to look like I’ve gone mad with happiness. That’s be awkward considering the situation.

Naruto came into the room, then. Let’s just say he my happy-go-lucky friend didn’t look so happy today. “What are you doing, Hitomi?! Why are you in bed with that emo-freak?! And look at what you’re wearing, put some clothes on!”

“Chill, you’re acting as if you’re my freaking dad.”

“I don’t have to chill. Put some freaking clothes on!” He stormed over to the bed and harshly grabbed onto my arm. I tried to pull out of his grasp, but he acted as if I weren’t even struggling. As if my strength didn’t affect him at all.

“Let go of her.” Sasuke hissed, dangerously. He looked as if he were ready to rip Naruto’s head off.

“I did it all for you, you know.” Sasuke spoke. His voice didn’t sound like him. It was crazed. “I did it all for you.”
The are flooded with light, showing our surroundings. Hundreds of bodies lay on their floor. Without their heads.

“Do you like my present, Hitomi?”

The bone-chilling nightmare came to mind. I hastily jumped out of the bed. That look… It looked as if he were ready to kill for me. I didn’t like it. It wasn’t the Sasuke that I had come to know, and like so much. Naruto’s expression didn’t help, either. He gave Sasuke the same deadly look.

It felt as if my heart had been ripped out of my chest. I collapsed to the ground, landing on my knees.

“Sas…Sasuke!” I sobbed.

The beast turned to me. This wasn’t my best friend. He isn’t even human. Nothing but an animal.

It growled as it charged towards me. I accepted death with arms wide open. Sasuke and Naruto were gone. I had nothing left. “Nothing.”

A strangled gasp escaped from my lips and I stumbled backwards, away from the two boys. The fear came back tenfold. I fell backwards, but still scrambled towards the wall. What was wrong with me? This couldn’t possibly be normal.

Kakashi didn’t look so amused, anymore. He could tell something was wrong, I’m sure anyone would be able to. Naruto and Sakura disappeared in a puff of smoke, but I was to frightened to care that they had only been shadow clones. Sasuke kneeled down beside me and reached out to touch me. Without meaning to, I flinched back. He didn’t even try to hide the pain in his eyes, he let his whole face show the pain.

Our sensei walked over to us, resting his hand on Sasuke’s shoulder. “Give her some space, you go get ready. I’ll talk to her.” Sasuke looked helpless as he left the room. My heart cried out for him. I wanted him to stay, but that didn’t stop the relief from swallowing me when he was gone. My body violently shook in fear. This couldn’t be normal.

Kakashi sat down beside me, sitting in silence. He seemed as if he was just there to comfort me, not pester. To show he would be there, and wouldn’t talk unless spoken to. My gratitude went out to the man.

“It’s just so real…” I trailed off, staring blankly at the wall. I may have only known the man for a short period of time, but I felt as if I could truly trust him. He had that sense of security surrounding him. “It’s so vivid…It scares me.”

He patted my shoulder in a comforting way. “Nightmares?” I nodded and began twiddling my thumbs. Kakashi was silent, lost in thought.

“You’ll stay here for the day. Rest up.”

“But--”

“No buts, ands, or ifs. Just, go back to sleep.” He exited the room, turning off the light as he left. Kakashi cut me way too much slack, but I wasn’t complaining. That bed looked mighty inviting.

“Leave her alone!” A kid yelled, a loud crash followed, a scream, and then sobs. “Mommy!” What’s going on? I pulled on my shorts, and made my way to where the sound originated from. There was broken glass everywhere. I had to be careful where I was stepping, so I wouldn’t cut my bare feet.

Tazuna’s daughter’s son was in shambles on the floor. Sobbing about something unknown to me. I rolled my eyes and knelt beside him. “What’s wrong, kid?” My voice was soft, as if I actually cared. This kid was always crying. “They took my mom.” He cried. I was alert now. I was officially the world’s worst ninja, how did I not sense that something was wrong? I felt as if I had failed my mission. The Hokage should fire me.

“The men that work for Donzo.”

Donzo…?

“Does this man associate with Zabuza?” He nodded, his puppy-like eyes begging for help. I ran to the room to grab my katana. There was no time to change, I had a mom to save. I grabbed the kid, looking for any signs of the criminals.

“Do you have any idea where they went?”

“The docks.” He sniffled. I skidded to a stop and started running in the other direction. I was such a failure.

When we made it to the docks, there were two men getting ready to put Tazuna’s daughter in the boat. Poor woman was all tied up.

“Well, well. What do we have hear?” I asked, tapping my foot. The men jumped, not sensing my presence. I could tell this wasn’t going to take long. It’d be easy.

They punched each other playfully, wagging their eyebrows and licking their lips. Disgusting pigs. “Aw, the little girl ninja has come to save the wench.” One of them teased, the other laughed. “She’s lucky she’s cute, or we’d have to kill her.” His words made my stomach churn. How could they say such awful things? It was disgusting. The kid whimpered behind me.

“Back up.” I ordered, reaching for my katana.

“Look at the way she’s dressed, eh? Crazy night, girl? That ye’ boyfriend’s shirt, I wonder how he’ll react to you being with a real man.” I gritted my teeth. Memories of last night flooded my mind. The way he touched me, and kissed me with such passion… Focus, Hitomi. Now is not the time to be thinking of Sasuke.

“He’s not my boyfriend.” I growled. They laughed at me.

“Then, how much do you cost?”

They’ve crossed the line there. “C’mon girly, give me a kiss.” I lowered my katana and strutted over to the men. They were about to get a very rude awakening.

“You like what you see?” I played along, lifting Sasuke’s shirt a bit and showing my stomach, swinging my hips slightly. They bit their lip and nodded. Pigs. I smiled sexily. It was usually reserved for Sasuke, but this was business. “Me, too.” It was strange how easy lying came.

I walked over to the one on my left. He smiled hugely and roughly grabbed my ass. It took everything in me not to cringe. It made me wish Sasuke was here with me. “I hope you don’t plan on having children later in life.” I whispered. Confusion flitted across his face. My knee met mercilessly with his groin, I then hit him hard in the back of the neck, causing him to black out. I then quickly kicked the other man behind the knees, making him fall to the ground and hit his head hard and also pass out. I tied them together and sent them drifting along in the boat.

I rubbed my hands together, as if to get rid of filth. Wow…that was amazing!” The kid gushed. Tazuna’s daughter ran to her son and engulfed him in a life threatening hug, and sobbed onto his shirt. “Go home where it’s safe.”

“Is my dad okay?” She worried.

“I hope so…”
