Yin Yang Compatibility [Part 2] Adrienette
When Marinette arrived home from patrol on Saturday evening she was buzzing with excitement. She had a date with Adrien Agreste. Well a sort of date ... a maybe date ... an evening which might turn into a date. When Chat Noir had agreed to it she felt her heart expand in her chest almost restricting her breathing down to nothing, not only had he agreed to it, he had agreed to it on Valentine's Day.
She had a date with Adrien on Valentine's Day!
She hadn't got anything special planned, just a picnic on their favourite rooftop; candles, music, food, cushions, making out ...
Oh my God! She was going to make out with Adrien Agreste, well Chat Noir, but he is technically the same person so it still counted.
She began to dance around her room pinning up the list of couples ready to visit them tomorrow with their new assignments. She didn't want to take the day away from the normal couples so she'd planned their bonding day for later on in the week.
"Marinette, are you okay?"
"I've never been better Tikki," the smile on her face was brighter than the sun. She was going on a Valentine's date with Adrien Agreste.
She stopped her dancing in front of one of his pictures, lifted her hand to her mouth and blew him a kiss. She could be dating Adrien Agreste within the next 48 hours, oh wow! This was a lot to take in.
She slumped down on the floor next to her chaise lounge and pulled her knees into her chest, the sudden excitement popping like a cheap balloon.
"What if he guesses who I am and doesn't want to date me?" Marinette wasn't quite sure who she was talking to, but she needed to air out her worries.
"What do you mean?" The kwami's gathered around her, being their usual supportive selves to try and stop her from spiralling out of control.
"What if he guesses I'm me and freaks out? It'll ruin our friendship, and our partnership, and our lives then Shadowmoth will win, take our Miraculous' and end the world."
"A little dramatic there aren't we?" Kaalki asked, raising their eyebrows at Tikki and waiting for a reply.
"You've been around her long enough to know that she can make an episode of Love Island look like a Shakespearen drama." The kwami's all laughed as Marinette stood abruptly pulling on her piggy tails and moving towards her closet.
"I'm going to need to make him want me. I can start at school on Monday. I'll wear something he finds me desirable in."
"Why don't you wear the Chat Noir outfit you'd created?" Tikki suggested, only for Marinette to throw her a warning glance.
"I'm not ten Tikki, that'll just look stalkerish. We don't live in a romcom. It's not like he will suddenly come over to me and be like 'oh, M'Lady, I just love it when you wear my colours.' You've been reading too much fanfiction, Tikki." The other kwami's snorted, knowing full well Tikki's obsession with Ladynoir fan accounts. She was also rather fond of the Ladrien ones, but Marinette didn't need to know that.
Marinette continued to rummage through her clothes, throwing everything everywhere before finding the exact thing she wanted.
On Monday she was going to be wearing red. She was going to be wearing her colours, not his and hopefully his jaw would drop down to his feet.

Marinette woke up on Monday 20 minutes before her alarm was due to go off. She had a bizarre cocktail of excitement and apprehension circling through her veins, and she was beginning to wonder if this was actually a good idea after all.
She'd done her rounds the previous day, letting each couple know about their team building exercise, and that if they and their partner hit it off well they could reveal their identity to that person only. Everyone seemed quite excited, and grateful that she hadn't requested they do it on Valentines Day. Another point for team captain Marinette.
As she travelled from place to place, she noticed not only Chat Noir out and about running frantically, but also Adrien. What was that boy up to?
She sat up in her bed, and placed her hand against her mouth kissing it softly, before positioning it over Adrien's picture, moving the kiss from her hand to his paper lips. He could be her boyfriend by the end of the day and she honestly thought she was about to explode. Adrien Agreste. Adrien ... Agreste!
Her clothes had been ironed and placed out on her mannequin, making sure they were perfectly ready for this momentous day. Afterall, it was part one of her plan. She had to get him to like Marinette as much as he liked Ladybug. She needed him to be blown away when she revealed herself. Wanting to scoop her into his arms, and kiss her. Then they could date, eventually get engaged, have a lovely home with three children, and finally get that hamster she always wanted and name it -
"Marinette! Sweetheart, you need to come down here!" Her mother's voice travelled up through her closed trapdoor, and she could tell whatever it was had greatly amused her mother. She could hear sweet laughter before the big booming sound of her father vibrated her entire room.
Placing on her black gyspy crop top, she quickly followed with her red high waisted skirt and bounded down the stairs. Unfortunately, her legs were working faster than her brain, ending with her swinging around the bottom of the handrail, and into something very, very big and very, very soft. She stood up, pushing unco-ordinatedly against the fluffy, yes fluffy, object.
Looking down she saw the biggest teddy of her life. The light brown bear was wearing a pink bow around its neck and had a big pink heart in the centre of its body.
"Is this for me?" She asked, eyebrows creased as she looked over it.
"That's not all." Sabine replied, walking over to her daughter and turning her towards the sofa in their lounge area. The entirety of the seats were covered in teddy bears from tiny ones, to another three massive ones, there had to be at least 25 teddy bears in total, all of different shapes, sizes and colours.
"This is insane! Was there a card with them?"
"Yeah, here." Tom walked over to his daughter, the smile on his face indicating he was enjoying this. "Looks like you either have a lot of secret admirers, or just one who loves you very much."
Marinette nodded as she took the card from her father and opened it up, only for the delivery driver to walk in with at least another three teddies in his arms. She placed a hand over her mouth, and attempted to keep her eyes in her head. Looking down she read the words scribed on the pretty pink patterned paper.
'You have been my comfort, now I would like to be yours. Love your secret admirer.'
Cryptic, but sweet.
She looked around the room again and shook her head. Someone clearly had more money than sense. The thought made her gasp, she could feel her heart rocket in her chest. No! He couldn't have figured it out already, could he?
"Any idea who they're from, sweetheart?" Sabine took the card from her daughter's hands and read the caption letting out a little 'aww' at the end before handing it over to Tom. His features softened and he gave such a soft smile at Marinette she felt her cheeks heat with embarrassment.
"I don't - I mean - I guess there's a couple of people I could think of?"
"Well, he obviously thinks a lot of you."
"Yeah," Marinette smiled, "I think he does." Her blush intensified as she concentrated on getting her breakfast together, only for her stomach to refuse any food. This feeling was new, something she hadn't ever experienced before, and it made her feel slightly on the queasy side. Was this what it was like to be completely in love?

Walking into school on time was an unusual experience for Marinette, yet here she was, shaking from head to toe with apprehension but early and standing on the steps, her backpack swinging in between her legs with a precious gift she'd made for Adrien in her bag.
"Hey girl, you look like you're about to throw up? Do you hate this day that much?" Alya strode up to Marinette, a package in her hands which she was quite certain was for Nino.
"No, I'm just a little nervous that's all, you know ... Valentines akuma's and all that."
Alya looked at Marinette and then her eyes shot wide open. "Oh my God!"
"Woah, Al, what's wrong?" Nino walked up the steps, with a smiling Adrien on his tail. Marinette didn't know where to look. She could tell he was trying to catch her attention but if she looked at him she was certain she would spontaneously combust. Her stomach was spiralling, nausea overpowering any other emotion. Ugh.
"Marinette was just talking about Valentines akuma's and I remembered something."
"Oh really?" Adrien asked, again turning his attention to Marinette. She was positive she was currently supporting a face the temperature of molten magma and looked everything but desirable. "And what is that?"
"It's the anniversary of Ladynoir's first kiss. Remember during Dark Cupid last year. True love kiss and all that jazz! I wonder if they will finally make it official on their first year kissaversary."
"That would be rather special, wouldn't it?" Adrien said, but Marinette was too busy trying to stop the ringing in her ears and the overwhelming need to vomit. What the hell was wrong with her?
"I'm going to see the nurse." She blurted out, backing herself up the steps and away from this conversation as bile raised in her throat. .
"Want me to come with you?" Adrien stepped forward to help her but that made her panic even more.
"No, no ... no!" Her voice got more and more stern with each word, before she turned and walked away leaving him staring after her.
She was beginning to think she wasn't strong enough to do this.
︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵
The nurse said she was fine, that she just needed to eat as her blood sugar level had dropped. Not surprisingly really considering she hadn't eaten that morning.
She stalked her way to the locker room, finding a big pink bow tied around her locker door. Oh dear kwami's!
"So have you sent anything to anyone?" The girls had entered the locker room as Marinette remained frozen at her locker. Again it was something Adrien, well Chat Noir, would do but there was nothing there to indicate it was him. No name attached, just a short note.
'You help me to fly, love your secret admirer.'
Opening her locker, she held her breath as balloon after balloon after balloon flew out of her locker, hitting her in the face as they made their great escape to the ceiling of the locker room. Each balloon being the shape of a heart..
"Woah!" Rose said, watching the pink glittery balloons bounce around on the roof. The balloons were going wild, some even making a break for any door that was slightly ajar, squeezing through and into the hallway.
"That is quite a display," Mylène continued.
Marinette giggled, stretching forward and taking out the pink heart attached to a weight.
"'My love for you has only grown stronger.'" She read out to a chorus of 'oohh's and 'awww's from her friends.
"Someone obviously loves you, Marinette," oh how she hoped that was true.
She just needed to be able to face him without letting her nerves take over and she was sure she was about to have the romance of the century, if all this was anything to go by. It had to be from him. It just had to be.
"Maybe," she said shyly, taking out her books and placing them into her backpack.
"I bet it's Nate, I mean he did have that crush on you last year," Alix said, leading the girls out of the locker room and into the classroom. They hung around at the front for a while chatting when suddenly there was an interruption in the form of red hair.
"Marinette, can I have a quick word?" Nathaniel made his way over to the girls looking sheepish, and Alix couldn't help the wiggle of her eyebrows as she watched them go.
"Are you okay, Nate?"
"Did you like your balloons?" He asked, seemingly out of nowhere.
"Oh, um, yeah, they were wonderful, thank you."
"Good," he said with a soft smile. "I'm glad."
Her stomach dropped and she felt prickles in the back of her eyes, suddenly she wondered how she'd let herself get pulled into believing it was him.
︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵
"You want us to do what?"
Adrien was currently outside talking to his friends. He'd just sent Nate inside to ask Marinette what she'd thought of the balloons, and hopefully it would have knocked her off the scent that the gifts were coming from him. Now he just needed to get his other friends on board.
The teddy bears this morning had been a little extreme, even for him, but he found it hard to choose just one, so he took them all instead. Next was the balloons, (that was Plagg's idea), and Tikki was the mastermind for the next event, but from there on out it was serious business. He was going to knock her off her feet and straight into his arms. He just needed his friends' support.
"Just go and place a rose on her desk, each of you have a different colour and she'll know the meaning behind them all. Listen, if you need some persuasion, I've got you all a red rose to give to your other halves too." The guys looked from Adrien to each other, before a round of agreement circulated around the group.
He pulled out the array of different roses and a bunch of red, handing one to each of his friends. They were thornless and perfect, each wrapped with a pretty pink bow.
"Thank you guys, let me head in first. Then enter one at a time once Ms. Bustier has arrived, that way she'll be in her seat."
Adrien walked into the room, and noticed Marinette in conversation with Nathaniel. Trying his best to ignore their conversation, Adrien walked over to Marinette's desk and placed a light pink rose on top. Admiration, happiness and friendship. Adrien noticed all eyes were on him as he made his way back to his seat and sat down. He could tell the girls wanted to question him. The looks on their faces one he'd remember forever, but unfortunately for them, Ms. Bustier entered the classroom before anyone could start asking questions.
He felt Marinette's eyes gaze over him as she went to sit down on her seat. Chancing a quick glance back to see her playing with the rose between her fingers. Oh boy, she hadn't a clue what was about to come.
Nino entered next, placing a yellow rose on Marinette's desk, and a red one of Alya's. Then came Ivan, adding a dark pink rose before giving his red one to Myléne, and so it continued. Max came bearing a coral rose, Kim orange and Nathaniel returning with a purple one. Adrien winked at his friends as they seated themselves in their seats and Marinette's face reached a red he didn't even know existed. It was almost purple.
She gathered the roses together and looked around the room, before her eyes locked on his. He turned his head away quickly, his stomach flipping and spinning. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes. This plan had to work. There was no other way. He needed Marinette to be his girlfriend.
︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵
Marinette was now walking around with a rather impressive display of roses, and whereas most of her friends were now in possession of a red 'true love' rose, the story of hers was something else.
Each boy from their class gave her a different colour, each rose representing a different feeling. She played with the light pink one Adrien had given her first, and stroked down it's perfectly smooth stem. Admiration, happiness and friendship. It also stood for grace, but anyone with eyeballs knew that didn't suit her in her civilian form, though when in her super suit she was the epitome of the word.
"Ms. Dupain-Cheng?" Marinette looked up from where she'd just settled on a bench with the girls.
"Yes?"
She looked quizzically at the man standing before her in a very expensive suit and carrying a small package.
"This is for you." He placed the parcel in Marinette's hands, as she placed the roses down on the table. The gift wrap was green with a black bow, and although it didn't say Valentine's Day it definitely revealed the sender.
What had he done now?

This two part special has turned into a three, the next part will hopefully be posted later this week.
