The Invite

*Oh my gosh guys! I am so sorry it's taken me forever! This chapter was hard to formulate, but I also got hella busy with Uni in the last couple months. But I should be able to update more often and I hope ya'll like the chapter!

Addy~~

"Yes, Jake. Always yes!" He stands and in one motions pulls me close, lifting me off the ground in a tight embrace and all my worry from earlier that day melts away. I can feel the stupid grin finding a permanent spot on my face, and I could care less. I don't think I've ever been this happy, and after everything that just happened...I'm so thankful to have Jake by my side.

"Jake, this is absolutely beautiful." I whisper, leaning against him as I look at the tribal ring sitting perfectly on my left hand, feeling a warmth spread in my chest knowing this was his mum's ring.

"Sorry I seemed so weird and distant recently. If you couldn't tell I was really nervous and wasn't sure how to go about all this the right way. I wanted it to be perfect and I was just afraid.." He begins to babble making me smile, before reaching up and planting a firm kiss against his lips as reassurance and I feel him relax as he reaches a hand around my neck to pull me closer.

"It's all so funny though, I thought you were upset after everything that happened with my mother, and were doubting my love for you--" I end up confessing, and see him look at me strangely.

"Why would you think I would doubt your love for me? If anything, I would understand if you doubted mine, especially with everything Bella put you through." He shakes his head, but I'm quick to dismiss his worry.

"I know I questioned it slightly when Bella kissed you, but I also found out really quick what kind of person she was and learned to not trust her, even if she had known you longer. And you were different from my ex, our bond, our love, it's different, and it's something I could never doubt." I say with a smile, squeezing his hand in comfort and he gives me a sweet kiss on my forehead.

"Well, I'm glad to hear you say that, and I'm glad you said yes. It makes me immensely happy." A wide grin crosses his russet face as he runs a finger over the ring on my left hand making me smile at everything once again.

The walk back to my house is blissful. The sun had set a while ago and we decided to walk back to the house, taking our time, not in a hurry to get back to the craziness of our lives. Suddenly thinking about all the guys back home makes me giggle, wondering if any of them will notice the ring.

"What's so funny babe?" Jake asks as he looks over at me, smiles on both of our faces.

"Who all knew about your plans?"

"Em just knew I was taking you on a picnic, and Sam was aware of what I've thought about this, he just didn't know when. Otherwise I wanted to keep it all a secret, because we all know secrets don't last very long in our group." He chuckles, and I nod in agreement.

"That makes sense. I was laughing because I'm curious to see who is going to notice the ring." He hums in thought before laughing as well, knowing that the guys at least will be oblivious.

"I guess we will see."

The rest of the walk is in a happy silence, as we enjoy our time together, still reeling in the events of the evening, and we're quickly at the front door of my home, able to hear the loud chatter emanating from behind the wooden door. With a comforting squeeze from my boyfriend, well now fiancé, we head into the wolf's den. We're greeted happily at the door by Jared and Embry who quickly invite us into the living room for a game of What Do You Meme, which fills the usually stressed wolves with laughter making me smile brightly. The rest of the night is filled with laughter, and no one notices the new jewelry on my hand, but that's alright, because as I lean into Jake's side, I realize we have all the time in the world to enjoy these happy moments, and I can get used to a life full of this.

Our bliss was quickly forgotten in the upcoming day, as the mail arrived and Jake's frustration and my anger returned. Meeting Jake at the dining table in his small home with cups of coffee, I notice his body tense as a cream letter with elegant script, falls from the mail pile and catching the name Swan and the word invite, and I know exactly what it is. Rolling my eyes, I walk away from the table my anger getting the best of me, and I can't even begin to understand why she would have to nerve to send Jake a wedding invitation...

"Babe?" Jake calls, no doubt sensing my change in mood, but I just peak my head in to give him a small smile, hoping to not let on how frustrated I am.

"I forgot I told Leah I'd come over for a bit this morning, but I'll be back." Before he can get another word in, I head out the door and make the quick walk to the Clearwater's trying to keep my frustration at bay.

"Hello!" I call into the house as I open the front door, walking in and immediately coming into contact with warm arms around my shoulders in a tight hug.

"Addy, I didn't know you were coming over!" Seth exclaims and I feel my frustrations lessen being in his bright presence, and I smile.

"I wasn't really planning on bugging you guys today, but I've gotta talk to Leah about some, uh things." I fumble, not really wanting to talk about the drama with Seth, knowing he kinda does like the Cullen's and Bella.

"Well, she's up in her room. But really, you and Jake need to come hang out, I feel like I don't see you two anymore." He pouts a bit, but I agree, I do miss Seth and I know how much he looks up to Jake.

"Thanks Seth. And we will, it'll for sure get Jake outta the house." I smile towards him as I head up the stairs, my original irritation returning.

"She sent an invitation!" I exclaim out of frustration after knocking on Leah's door and begin pacing the length of her bedroom, throwing my hands in the air exasperatedly at the nerve of Bella Swan. Leah puts down her journal after my outburst, but lets me rant without interruption.

"She spends all this time trying to come between us and then she sends a freaking wedding invite to Jake and Billy, like she wouldn't think I'd come along as well... What is she playing at?? What was she expecting to happen?" Running my hands through my hair in exasperation, my emotions turn to confusion as I drop heavily on Leah's bed as she looks at me with a raised brow.

Did Bella really think Jake would try and crash the wedding and confess his "underlaying feelings" for her? Letting everything circle around in my head, I attempt to keep a positive mindset about this all, that maybe Bella has changed and is no longer trying to steal my fiancé, but part of me knows she isn't going to give up on Jake that easy and that frustrates me. Sighing loudly and blowing a raspberry between my lips, I groan at the ridiculousness of the situation and Leah just laughs at me causing me to give her a pointed look.

"You do realize you'll be dealing with her forever now, right? Not as much once she's married, but she will always try and be the center of everyone's attention, even Jake's. If you want my honest opinion," She pauses dramatically as I nod and she smirks.

"Go with Jake to the wedding, show off your ring and just enjoy the fancy ass evening they'll no doubt have. Show her that your and Jake's relationship is solid, and that she can no longer do anything to get in-between you two." I nod agreeing fully with her, expecting that it'll be a shit show, but hoping that if we do go, these kind of childish digs will stop...

Wait, she said ring...

"Hold on, when did you notice the ring?" I look at her quickly, only to see the cheesy smirk on her lips, as she looks down again at my left hand.

"I noticed it when you threw your hands in the air, and I wasn't going to comment on it, but realized it could work for the whole show Bella up thing." We laugh together and I shake my head, I should've known Leah would be the one to see it. She's too preceptive for her own good.

"Well, you're the first to notice, and Jake and I are wanting to see how long it'll take the others to figure it out." I shrug with a giggle and she just shakes her head with a smile.

"Well, I'm happy for the both of you. You both deserve this happiness after all the shite you've gone through." She hugs me tightly, and it makes me feel better about everything that has happened this day, and I'm reassured that Jake and I can make it through any obstacle life is gonna throw at us.
