Chapter Ten, Dragon Haven

Stoick and Sirius are flying off in the direction their wayward children went trying to follow their trail accompanied by Gobber on his dragon Grump when a snow storm suddenly hit them. "Liv always has to help others, even at the expense of herself. Add to that she has both her parents tempers and stubbornness from both of them and most likely me as well. And she can't sit back and do nothing which she got from the three of us." Sirius groaned throwing his head back. "Hiccup's the same." Stoick replied. "Boar-headed! Just like his mother! Aye, she could never stay out either."
"He's just twenty." Gobber said waving off Stoick's concerns but he agrees with Sirius as he's seen what Elivra is like if someone needs help and she can help she'll do it. "And a Viking. Could there be a worse combination?" He asked his friend.

"When I think of how stubborn and senseless you were back in the day..." Gobber says to Stoick but he trails off as he looks at his old friend. "Oh. Well, not much as changed, actually." He says quietly making Sirius laugh despite the situation.
"Ah, you know when he's like. He won't give up Gobber." Stoick sighed.
"Elivra is the same. The amount of times she's been injured and had to be put in a magical coma to heal I dread to think." Sirius mused. "I love her with all my being but my daughter is a danger magnet, it's just drawn to her."
"Can you imagine what their kids will be like." Gobber laughed as Stoick groaned.
"I don't want to think on her having children yet. She's my little girl." Sirius huffed. Stoick and Gobber smiled at their friend knowing how much Liv means to him, though Stoick had to agree if he had a daughter he'd probably be the same.

"If Hiccup and Elivra find Drago before we find them..." Stoick sighed bringing the conversation back to what concerned the two fathers greatly.
"Nothing can hurt Hiccup and Elivra as long as those Night Furies are around, especially Volta." Gobber mused. "Theyre Night Furies!" He scoffed as if they would be hurt with those dragons protecting them Volta broke out of the ice she was frozen in to help Elivra, the thought was just absurd in Gobber's opinion. "What is it Stoick?" Sirius asked concerned when the Chief sees something but he doesn't answer as he flies down to hole in the frozen ocean Sirius and Gobber following behind as Stoick picks up two masks, one brown and red, Hiccup's and the other green, and black, Elivra's. Sirius and Gobber see the masks that Stoick is holding fear surging through them. The two never take their masks off while flying.

"Liv!" Sirius gasped. Sorry and fear surging through it at what could have happened to his daughter and Hiccup. "We'll find her Sirius I promise!" Stoick swore. "I promised you, you both would be safe as long as I'm Chief and I intend to keep that promise!" Stoick leaned forward in his saddle to reach his dragons nose, a Rumplehorn is a tracker dragon and can follow the scents to lead them to the two missing Vikings. "Find them Skullcrusher! Find them!" Stoick ordered as his dragon smells the two helmets. After getting a good whiff of the helmets Skullcrusher roads and shouts off into the sky filling the scent trail, Sirius and Gobber behind them.

On the island covered with ice Hiccup and Elivra are running off after his mother trying to keep up with her, their dragons behind them. "Hold on. Wait just a minute." Hiccup called.
"This way!" Hiccup's mother called expertly climbing over the rocks as Hiccup and Elivra are left behind slightly.
"Come back here!" Hiccup shouted.
"Come!" His mother says beckoning them with her finger.
"You can't just say something like that to Hiccup and run off!" Elivra shouted angry for Hiccup.
"You're my mother?" Hiccup shouted agreeing with Elivra. "I mean, what the... Do you grasp how insane it sounds?"
"Come, quickly!" Is all she says not even slowing down to answer his questions. Elivra let out a frustrated growl she hated it when people kept things from them.

Hiccup sensing his betrothed getting angry on his behalf squeezed her hand gently and gave her a kiss to the cheek to calm her down slightly. "I have questions!" Hiccup shouted at his mother trying to climb over the large rock but couldn't do Elivra levitated him up slightly before Volta pushed her up after him. "Thank you Liv." Hiccup muttered before he turned back to shouting his questions at his mother. "Where have you been all this time? What have you been doing?"
"They told him you were dead!" Elivra shouted after the woman.
"Everyone back home think you were eaten by..." Hiccup trails off as he sees the magnificent sight before him, Elivra gasping at the sight before her. It was beautiful. It was a small little green world filled with all different types of dragons.

Suddenly Toothless and Volta snarled looking up above them seeing the large dragon that had appeared before them earlier with his mother sitting on the dragon as the dragon hanged upside down. "This is where you've been for twenty years?" Hiccup asked. His mother just nodded smiling at him. Elivra looked around them in wonder. "You've been rescuing them." She said in awe. Again his mother just nods her head. "Unbelievable." Hiccup muttered looking away from his mother for a moment.
"You're not upset?" His mother asked.
"What? No. I...I don't know." Hiccup stammered.
"I think," Elivra said speaking for her boyfriend. "He's just a bit overwhelmed."

Hiccup looked back at gratefully his eyes shinning with love as he kissed her cheek.
"It's just a bit much to be honest. It's kit ever day you find out your mother is some kind of crazy, feral, vigilante dragon lady." Hiccup ranted.
"Oh." His mother laughed as she was helped down by her dragon. "At least I'm not boring, right?" She asks.
"Well, I suppose there is that one specific thing." Hiccup muttered as he watched Elivra try to calm Volta down as she growled at all the dragons coming up to them. As a gratin came up sniffing and rubbing its head on Hiccup.
"Mum this is Elivra my girlfriend and betrothed and I guess Elivra this is my mother." Hiccup introduced awkwardly. Elivra smiled at his mother as she twirled her fingers at the dragon near her making golden sparks appear for the dragon to chase.

His mother watched her intrigued and Hiccup watched his mother guardedly wondering how she would take to Elivra having magic. "You have magic." His mother muttered making Elivra freeze and look at her with wide frightened eyes. "Oh, no, no, no, no dear do not be afraid I'm intrigued the dragons seem to have an innate bond with you." She assured approaching Elivra like she would a startled dragon. "Yeah I'm a witch. I was born with magic, my mum and dad had it as well but I never knew them they died when I was a babe." Elivra informed her.
"By...by dragons?" She asked hesitantly but she was surprised when Elivra shook her head no.

"No, by an evil wizard. He killed them and tried to kill me. I'm Godfather, my dad's best friend adopted me he's my dad now and we got ran off our island onto another one. The island had this dragon reserve that had dragons only known to witches and wizard. For some reason only I could get near the most temperamental dragons and make them calm. I ended up having a seizure like earlier hit my head on a rock, my dad found me and was taking me to a healer when the people we ran from found us and attacked us, I lost consciousness and dad got us to Berk, that was five years ago I'm not sure how we got there. A few days after I had a panic attack and my magic got out of control Toothless was trying to calm me down but couldn't only Volta could. She was frozen in the ice on the mountains and broke through to get to me." Elivra explained. She tensed when she was suddenly pulled into a hug but soon relaxed into it returning the hug.

"Oh, you poor dear. I'm so sorry for what has happened to you. You can call me Valka." The now named woman said pulling back to smile at Elivra who smiled back softly, while Hiccup watched on happily as his mother and the woman he loved bonded. "Do you like it?" Valka asked turning to both of them. "I don't have the words." Hiccup stammered as he looked around them. Volta seeing her mate was being surrounded by much larger curious dragons went to Toothless' aid growling and snarling at them until they backed off as Valka laughed. "Can I.." Valka asked her son and Elivra. Hiccup nodded but Elivra looked at Volta humming soothingly till age calmed down. "You can But she's very overprotective of me." Elivra told her hesitantly.
"I can see that she looks at you as if you're her young." Valka said in awe as she's never seen anything like it.

Slowly she went up to Toothless placing her staff on the floor. "Oh, he's beautiful and so is she." Valka cooed. "Oh, look at Volta's mark I've never seen that before on any dragon but it makes her more beautiful." She giggles as Toothless rubbed his head on her's Volta soon joining in once she realised Valka wasn't a threat. "Incredible!" She muttered. "They night very well be the last of their kind." She told them as Toothless rubbed against her back and Volta her front. Elivra and Hiccup were suddenly feeling very sad about that, that there were no longer anymore Night Furies but they were glad Volta and Toothless had each other. "Look!" She calmed beckoning them forwards as she could now see under a Toothless' head and then Volta's showing some markings on their chin. "They're your age! No wonder you all get along so well!"

"Wow!" They muttered as they didn't know what the markings meant and never imagined their dragons would be their age. Elivra watched Hiccup happily glad he had found his mother as he watched her talk gibberish to the two Night Furies, wonder and tears shinning in his eyes. She gasped when Toothless pulled his teeth back in giving her a gummy smile. "And retractable teeth! How did you manage to find him Hiccup?" Valka asked as Elivra has told her her and Volta's story.
"I found him in the woods." Hiccup started hesitantly as it always pained him he had caused Toothless to not be able to fly without him anymore. Elivra retook his hand pulling his hand gently out of his hair and intwining their fingers giving his hand a comforting squeeze, her other hand running over Volta's head who had come back to her side now.

"He was shot then and wounded." Hiccup continued. Valka frowned as she stood up coming to the dragon behind Toothless. "This Snafflefang lost his leg to one of Drago Bludvist's iron traps. This Raincutter had her wing sliced by razor netting." She said showing them the dragon behind them as she used her staff to lift the wing seeing all the scars on the poor dragon's wing. "And this poor Hobblegrunt was blinded by a tree snare and then left to die alone and scared." She says stroking the purple dragon behind them that changed its colour to green. Hiccup nodded already feeling more upset by what he'd done to Toothless. "And what of this?" She growled. "Did Drago or his trappers do this too?" She asked lifting Toothless' fake tail fin.

Hiccup rubbed the back of his neck chuckling nervously refusing to look at his mother or Elivra even though she has been already told what happened and didn't blame Hiccup and he has already made it right to Toothless by helping him fly once more. He had made Toothless a tail fin that he could control so he could fly unassisted one Snoggletog, but he destroyed it as he wanted to fly with Hiccup. And Toothless had forgiven Hiccup and loved him as much as Hiccup loved him so in her opinion that's all that mattered. "Oh, yeah..." Hiccup muttered nervously. "Well. The crazy thing is...I'm actually the one who shot him down." Toothless as if sensing Hiccup's distress came and played with him cooing to him happily as Valka watched on once again confused and intrigued.

"Hey, it's okay, though. He got me back! Right bud? You couldn't save all of me, could you? You just had to make it even! So, peg leg!" Hiccup exclaimed pointing to his metal leg after he finished playing with Toothless laughing as Toothless threw him on to his back. "What did your father think of your Night Fury friend? And Elivra's?" Valka asked.
"He didn't take Toothless all that well." Hiccup was interrupted by Valka scoffing as if she didn't expect anything else. "But then he changed. They all did. By the time Elivra and her father, Sirius, arrived on Berk they all had dragons of their own!"
"If only it were possible." Valka scoffed.
"No, really." Hiccup tried to insist.
"It's true they all had dragons when we arrived my dad even has a Skrill." Elivra insisted but it seemed like she didn't want to listen.
