[Ch: 44] Hate Me?
Ella's POV.
I looked at my surroundings to see everything black. There wasn't a single ray of light to be seen anywhere and the whole room was covered with darkness. I was standing in the middle of this pitch-black room while the atmosphere around me giving an uncomfortable feeling.
"Mom! Dad!" I shouted but it came much like a whisper. It felt like that this room had absorbed my voice in itself.
"Jess! Sara!" I called out to their names but no one showed up.
Trying to walk, I took one step but immediately fell on the floor. I panted and looked at my feet and my eyes widened to see them chained up. I tried to find the other end of the chain but couldn't find it. It felt like the other end of the chain was this room itself.
Heavily breathing, I again tried to stand up but before I could take another step, I fell again. I tried to wriggle my foot free but to no avail. My mind wasn't functioning right now as my body was slowly drowning in panic mode. I wasn't having any idea about where I was and why I was chained up.
"Xaiden!" I called out his name but the name vanished in thin air.
"Mom! Dad! Jess! Sara! Xaiden!" I screamed their names but my voice so low that it was close to being inaudible.
I buried my head in my knees on not knowing what to do. I don't know what I was doing here or where was I. I don't know whether someone would save me or I would remain here now. I even don't know whether I was alive or already dead.
I just don't know.
"Ella!" My head jerked upon hearing my name.
"Ella!" I heard it again and I was sure to whom that voice belonged.
He was here...
He came to save me. He was here to take me with him...
"Xaiden!" I called out to his name as bright light came in the room from the corner.
My heart filled with hope as a smile took a place on my lips. I knew he would come and save me. I knew he would be my light in this dark world. I knew he would save me from this ruthless Mafia world.
"Xaiden!" I whispered as he stepped into the room from where the light was coming. His beautiful grey eyes looking in mine as he came forward to take my hand. My smile grew bigger on knowing that my love was here to save me.
"Xaiden! You came," I said as he took my hand and made me stand up. My heart beating against my ribcage as my cheeks warmed up seeing him standing in front of me. His hand holding mine gently as his eyes still staring into mine.
"I knew you would-"
"I hate you, Ella Anderson." Before I could say anything, he said those words filled with hatred making my heart stop. My eyes widened as my throat choked up with my own breath.
"Xai-"
"I hate you, Ella." His every word was filled with hatred and venom. His every word piercing my body and shattering my heart to pieces. My mind not believing it and my body becoming numb.
"N-No... You... You said y-you love me." I stuttered as my voice getting choked up with tears. My heart felt like it got stabbed by a thousand knives.
"I hate you, Ellen Austin." My heart seized beating on hearing the name.
Ellen Austin?
How did he know my name? And why his words had this much bitterness and hatred?
"No! It's not true." I drew my hand back and holding my head, I started screaming.
"No! You are not my Xaiden!" I screamed drawing back as tears welled up in my eyes.
"He would never say that! He loves me!" I shouted on top of my lungs while looking at him. My vision getting blurry as my body weakening.
He's not my Xaiden...
"I hate you and this will be the last time you'll see me, " he said those words and they cut me down like a sharp dagger.
"No!" I whispered as it felt like his every word was taking a bit of my soul away. It felt like with his every hateful word, my life was heading towards its end.
Why was he doing this to me?
"Ellen Austin! Goodbye!" I heard his voice last time and followed by it a gunshot and the next moment, a deep pain ran throughout my body. My vision blurry with all the tears as red-coloured blood surrounded me. My body feeling intense pain as my breathing became shallow.
But this pain was nothing as compared to his hateful words...
Victor's POV.
I was sitting beside Linda as we both waiting for our daughter to gain consciousness. We both praying for her and with every passing second, we were losing hope.
"Victor! When she'll wake up?" Linda asked the same question which she was asking for the last three days and as usual, I replied. "Very soon, sweetheart!" I hugged her and kissed her head. My hand caressing her arm trying to calm her down.
"I can't lose her too, " she whimpered and I hugged her tightly.
"We won't," I stated but deep down, I wasn't sure myself. This fear was increasing by every passing time. We lost one of our child before he could even be born. That was also due to the sudden attack of one of the mafia group, the Andors. Ella was only two years old at that time when they attacked us and as a result of that, we lost the child which was about to come into this world. I was able to save my princess and my wife but failed in saving my son.
My jaw clenched remembering that time when I saw my wife covered all in blood and how she barely survived. On that day, I made a vow to myself, to kill their entire group. After four years, I succeeded and now the name of that group was no more than a pile of dust in our Mafia world.
"Victor!" Linda called my name and I looked at her gloomy face. She had been crying and praying for her daughter's health every second.
"You should go home," I said for the tenth time but she refused to listen to me.
"I'll stay here until she wakes up." Sighing, I nodded to her answer. I won't argue with her to go home. I knew through which she was going because a mother's love couldn't be compared. She was in more pain than me.
I looked at the monitor showing Ella's normal heartbeat. At once it accelerated and the monitor started beeping. I hurriedly stood up and running out of the room, called for the doctor.
"Jason!" I shouted going through his room as he looked towards me. He rushed towards Ella's room.
"Oh, God! We are losing her!" He shouted as Linda started crying and my heart dropped in my chest.
"Save her!" I yelled as he called for the nurses.
"Step aside!" He ordered and as we stepped aside and he inspected her pulse and heartbeat.
"Her heartbeat is dropping. Prepare the defibrillator!" He yelled at the nurses as I saw them preparing everything. The nurse handed him two electrodes while switching a machine to the plug.
"Clear!" He shouted as two electrodes were placed on Ella's chest giving her electric shocks.
"Victor! Please save her. I beg you. Save my daughter." Linda cried, her eyes begging me. Seeing my family like this made me ache with pain. I hugged her and placed her head on my chest. I caressed her back, saying soothing words in her ear.
"She'll be fine. She's strong. She's my daughter. Mafia blood runs in her veins. She'll be fine. Don't worry." I continued to give her hope but the truth was I was starting to lose hope myself
I don't know what was going to happen.
I was feeling hopeless...
