I am back with the next update!!! Apologies for posting it late.

"TUM?"

Both said looking at each other, the memories of the past flashed before them as they looked at each other. When Avni had known about her meeting with a certain Jatin Roy never did she imagine that it would be the same person who was her past. Tears threatened to spill out of her eyes, but she controlled herself, she could not let herself fall weak. On the other hand, the situation with Jatin was no different never in his wild dreams did he expect that the past would come knocking back into his life and in the most unexpected situation. There was silence as both were still trying to comprehend the situation.

"Hi Avni" said Jatin breaking the silence

"It's Ms.Avni Goyal but you can call me Ms.Goyal, And I would prefer any one of these Mr.Roy" Avni snapped back at him as Jatin was taken aback a bit, he could understand her reaction but then he had to handle the situation carefully, this was a very big opportunity for his firm and he could let it go because of some personal issues.

"Sure Ms.Goyal, Glad to meet you" Jatin replied calmly

"Please have a seat Mr. Roy" said Avni as Jatin settled down as Avni asked him "What would you like to have Mr.Roy"

"A coffee would do and you can call me Jatin, Ms.Goyal" he said as Avni looked at him, without a word she picked up the intercom and called her secretary "One Strong coffee with One teaspoon of Sugar" she ordered as Jatin's head shot up to look at her.

"You still remember" he said with a smile as Avni mentally scolded herself for getting carried away but the next moment she replied, "I wish I didn't" as Jatin's face fell "You hate me so much" he said as Avni looked at him in sadness.

"We are to discuss about work Mr.Roy, not our personal lives" she snapped back as Jatin controlled himself from saying anything further

"So, shall we start?" he asked as Avni replied "Just a moment" she picked up the intercom and called Dev's secretary asking her to send Dev to her cabin for the meeting.

As they were waiting for Dev to arrive Jatin asked "So, How's life been Avni?" as she shot an exasperated look at him, here she was trying to avoid any reference to their past but Jatin was making it difficult for her.

"Mr. Roy, I guess I had made it very clear that we are here for work and not to discuss our personal lives. I would really appreciate if you could just remember that" she shot back at him angrily, as Jatin internally chuckled, he knew how much she was affected with his presence, but she was trying to put a strong façade in front of him and this is what he loved about her.

"Avni, please listen to me once" said Jatin as he kept his hand on top of hers which was on the table.

"How dare you touch me Mr.Roy?" Avni shouted angrily as she stood up while Jatin got up as well seeing her intense reaction, never had he expected such a reaction from her. Just then Dev walked in opening the cabin door but the scene in front befuddled him as he saw Avni whose body language suggested she was angry and then he looked at the stranger who seemed to be equally perplexed while looking at Avni.

"I am sorry, I should have knocked" said Dev as Avni's anger seemed to dissipate listening to her friend's voice which did not go unnoticed by Jatin.

"Avni, Tum Theek ho?" he asked in a concerned voice as Avni walked towards him and wound her hand around his shoulder which surprised Dev while Jatin felt a pang of jealousy looking at the scene in front of him, looking at the comfort Avni shared with the stranger

"Tum aa gaye ho toh ab main Theek hoon Dev" she said making sure Jatin heard that as Dev now was sure there was something which he was missing but he decided to ask about it later.

"Hi, Dev Dixit, MD of MYSTIQUE AIRLINES" said Dev as forwarded his hand towards Jatin "Jatin Roy, Creative Head of DELPHIC AD AGENCY" he replied as he shook hands with Dev who realized that the person in front was the person that Avni had talked about and was Sonakshi's cousin as well.

"So can we start now Ms.Goyal?" said Jatin as Avni nodded just as the office boy arrived with the coffee. Moments later the three were settled and engrossed themselves in the meeting.

The meeting went on for a couple of hours wherein Jatin presented his ideas about the AD campaign that the airlines was looking for, Dev seemed to very impressed with his ideas and looked towards Avni for her thoughts but through out the meeting he observed that his friend was a bit lost. He decided to speak to her after the meeting. Dev then put forward his idea of having employees from the Airlines act in the Ads which was agreed by both Jatin and Avni. After few more discussions about other things the meeting ended. Dev and Avni had finalized that DELPHIC would be given the responsibility for the Ads and conveyed the same to Jatin who was more than happy as he fell in love with Avni a bit more, she did not let her personal issues with him affect their professional lives, but he knew at the same time that it would take a huge effort from him to win her trust and love back.

"By the way Jatin, why don't you join us for lunch?" said Dev as Avni looked up in alarm, she did not want this. Jatin meanwhile had observed her expressions and at once knew her inner turmoil, he was about to reply but Avni beat him to that.

"Nahi" she said as both Dev and Jatin looked at her surprise "I mean, Mr.Roy ko aur bhi bohot kaam hongey" she fumbled as Jatin said at the same time "Thank you for asking Dev, but I need to get moving as I have got another meeting, Maybe some other time" said Jatin as Dev nodded in agreement while Avni sighed in relief

"So I will be here on Monday for discussing the way forward" said Jatin as Dev said "By the way I would be in Kolkata on Monday but Avni would be there, so you guys can definitely discuss, after all this whole AD campaign is her baby and her decisions on this will be final" he said as Jatin nodded while Avni again was caught in a dilemma as she had to manage it alone with him but she knew she could not let her past affect her present just as Jatin left bidding them a goodbye

"Kya hua Avni?" Dev asked seeing her lost and just fiddling with her food without eating, they were seated In his cabin for their lunch

"Avni, Avni. Kya hua?" Dev asked again seeing no response from her and snapped his fingers in front of her as she came out of her thoughts

"Huh, kya hua?" she asked as she saw Dev looking at her intently "Aise kya dekh raha hai?" she asked

"Kya hua tujhey? Tabsey dekh raha hoon, tu kahin khoyi hui hai. Baat kya hai?" he asked her as she mentally kicked herself for making her inner turmoil apparent

"Nahi kuch nahi" she replied but dev knew her friend well he went and sat beside her and taking her hand in his he asked "Baat kya hai Avni? Subah toh tu Theek thi lekin jab se tum Jatin se mili ho tab se tum khoyi khoyi lag rahi ho. Main jab cabin aaya tab bhi tum dono ke beech main kuch baat chal rahi thi lekin main ney tab kuch nahi poocha. Baat kya hai Avni? Tu mujhey bata sakti hai" he said as Avni looked at him, her friend had once again understood her, she just held him and started crying as Dev was taken aback, never had he seen her like this in all these years. He just waited for her to calm down as he patted her.

"Wo wapas aa gaya Dev, wo wapas aa gaya. Why did he come back?" she spoke in between her tears as Dev at once could sense that she was talking about Jatin.

"Avni, pehle rona band kar aur mujhey poori baat bata" he said as Avni calmed down, she knew she had to speak her heart out and who better than her best friend. She calmed down as she started narrating her past with Jatin, as she narrated she started crying in between. As Dev heard her he clenched his fist in anger but controlled it as right now he had to calm Avni down.

"Avni calm down, please calm down" he said as she finally stopped crying

"Isi liye tu itni khoyi hui thi. Tu sure hai tu Jatin ke saath kaam karna chahti iss campaign main? I mean if you are uncomfortable then we can cancel their order. Just tell me" Dev said as Avni replied immediately

"Nahi Dev, Mujhey koi problem nahi hai. I don't want my personal issues to hamper our work and additionally I do not want to fall weak in front of him. Aur Waisey bhi koi problem hogi toh tu hai" she smiled as she said while Dev chuckled raising his collar. Making sure that she was fine both got back to their work.

EVENING AT BOSE HOUSE

Jatin was sitting in his room lost in his thoughts when Sonakshi entered for calling him for Dinner, she called him a couple of times but did not get any response from him, she went towards him and snapped her fingers in front of his face which brought him out of his trance.

"Kahan khoya hua hai?" she asked him

"Huh, kahin nahi. Tu yahan kyun aayi hai?" he asked her as she looked at him carefully, she knew he was hiding something, though they were cousins, but both were more of friends than cousins

"Wo main tujhey Dinner ke liye bulaney aayi thi. Lekin tu kahan khoya hua hai, kuch baat hai kya?" she asked in concern but Jatin did not want to tell anything

"Kuch baat nahi hai Sona, tu chal main aata hoon" he said as Sonakshi nodded though she knew he was not telling the truth and turned to go back but the next moment she heard Jatin

"Waisey Sona mujhey tujhsey kuch poochna tha" he said as Sonakshi turned towards him and gestured him to go ahead

"Agar koi tera Dil dukhata hai ya phir tera vishwas todta hai, lekin uss insaan ko baad main ye realize hota hai wo galat tha toh kya tu ussey ek aur mauka degi apney galti ko sudharney ke liye" he asked as Sonakshi looked at him in surprise as this was the first time he was asking her something related to relationships

"Dekh Jatin, agar usey sach main apni galti ka ehsaas ho gaya hai and wo dil se apney galti ko sudharna chahta hai toh main zaroor usey doosra mauka doongi, Haan phir se vishwas karney main thoda time to lagega magar agar dil se wo insaan pachta raha hai toh main zaroor usey maaf kar doongi" she said with a smile as Jatin smiled back, he still had hope to get back his love.

"Magar tu ye kyun pooch raha hai?" she asked as Jatin looked perplexed, he did not want to reveal anything before he sorted things out

"Wo kuch nahi Sona, saalon pehley main ney kisi ka dil dukhaya tha lekin main jaanta hoon ki main galat tha. Iss sey zyada main iss waqt aur kuch nahi bata sakta. Please mujhsey matt poochna" he said as Sonakshi nodded, she knew he would share it when he was comfortable, asking him to join for dinner she went down as Jatin thought about ways to get back his love.

SUNDAY AT KOLKATA AIRPORT

Dev was waiting for his cab at the airport. He had travelled to Kolkata, on the flight he did meet Sonakshi and exchanged pleasantries with her, after a small talk he had settled on to his seat while Sonakshi got back to her work. After bidding each other goodbye upon their arrival on Dev was waiting for his cab, just as he was waiting he saw Sonakshi standing a little distance away, he went towards her.

"Tum office cab main gayi nahi Sonakshi?" he said which startled her a bit

"Nahi, Wo main actually kisi ka wait kar rahi thi" she said as Dev nodded, he was about to reply when a car arrived, and a young handsome man came out it as Sonakshi moved towards him with a smile on his face as Dev felt a bit uneasy seeing it. As she neared him she hugged him and said.

"RITWIK, I MISSED YOU SO MUCH"

Done, once again a long update. How was it?? Was it Boring/Ok/Good? Was it Yayy or Was it Nayy? Please leave your honest feedback.

Now that you know that JATIN-AVNI are a couple can anyone suggest a nice couple name for them.

Also I know many might be disappointed that there are less DEVAKSHI scenes but as I had mentioned in the description this story is about Love, friendship & family so each character has its own importance attached to it. Also if you are expecting any dramatic situations in the story then you might be disappointed, yes there will be some subtle dramatic situations but not any drastic ones. As my major aim of writing this story is that it should leave a smile on the readers face by the end of each part and I hope i am able to do that.

As always, awaiting your votes & comments as the future updates of this story would depend on that.
