It's Thursday and I am here with the next update, My sincere apologies for the delay but I was caught up with my work. Thank you for your votes and comments. Means a lot.🙂🙂🙂
Without further ado, here is the next part of this story. Hope you like it :-

"SONA.... WHAT's THE MATTER? WHY ARE YOU CRYING?

Sonakshi did not answer Dev and just hugged him tightly clinging on to him as for a moment was taken aback but then wound his arms around her taking her into his hold as she kept snivelling which wetted his Tee. He caressed her hairs trying to calm her down, but her cries did not cease.

"Sona...Bachaa...What's the matter? Why are you crying? Please tell me" he said but she kept quiet and just tightened her hug not letting him get go away from her. He kept caressing her hair and back as he spoke "Sona...Calm down dear...please calm down" he said as he moved a little with her still in his hold as he made her sit on the chair kept on the side. He made her drink some water as by now her sobs turned into light snivels as he kneeled beside her holding her hands while she just hung her head down.

"Sona..." said Dev as he kept his finger on her chin and lifted her face, one look at her face and he knew she had been crying for a long time, the dried tears on her face and her reddened eyes indicated the same. Dev got up to go and get a wet towel to wipe her face but as soon as he turned he felt Sonakshi's hand clutching his tightly as she looked at him with pleading eyes, clearly conveying that she did not want him to leave.

"Dev...Please don't leave...Stay with me here..." she whispered but was loud enough for Dev to hear her, to an outsider it might have seemed simple words but Dev knew there was more to it than just the words she had spoken "Sonakshi...I will be back in a couple of minutes Bachaa" he said loving but she moved her sideways, clearly not ready to let him go "STAY" she said once again as Dev kneeled before her, cupping her cheeks with his hands he said "Sona...I will stay, but please let me go for 2 minutes. I promise I will be back quickly" he said as she reluctantly left his hand while Dev hurried inside.

A couple of minutes later Dev came back with a wet towel, handing it over to Sonakshi who had a surprised look on her face he laid the featherbed and arranged the blanket and the pillows that he had got along with him on the floor near to the wall. Once done, he moved towards Sonakshi who still had a befuddled look on her face, taking the towel from her hand he wiped her face and then keeping it aside he held her hand and made her sit on the bed as he settled besides her and held her left hand with his right, their backs resting against the wall as both kept quiet. There was silence but what words could not convey their eyes conveyed that. Sonakshi kept her head on his shoulder leaning against him as he left her hand and wound his hand around her as she snuggled more into his protective hold.

After a few moments she slid down and kept her head on his lap as he caressed her hair, he did not speak a work or ask Sonakshi anything about her sudden behaviour as he knew that she would speak when she was comfortable. After about 5 minutes he heard Sonakshi speak in a low voice "Dev, please never leave me alone. I cannot live without you" she said as she got up and looked at him with pleading eyes as Dev had a surprised as well as a concerned look on her, he cupped her face as he spoke "Never Sona...never would I leave you alone, Never" he said as she hugged him once again, Dev by now was sure that something was bothering her but he was giving her space so that she could speak without any apprehension.

"Promise me Dev...When we grow old I will be the one who leaves this world before you as I cannot live a second without you, promise me Dev" she said as Dev lifted her face and spoke "Sonakshi, why are you talking such things. Please don't speak like that" he said as she kept quiet and hung her head down as Dev once again lifted her head and asked her "Sona...tell me...Is everything alright? Is something bothering you? Everything was fine in the evening, what happened suddenly that you are speaking so? And moreover, why were you crying?" he said as Sonakshi did nothing but hugged him leaning her head against his chest.

After a few moments she spoke "I had a bad dream Dev, a really bad one" she said tightening her hug as Dev kept quiet allowing her to take her time before she spoke again. Seeing her quiet he spoke after a few seconds "You want to speak about it Sona?" he asked as he lifted her head to look at him as she spoke

"I saw that I am in the last month of my pregnancy and you had to go for this urgent office meeting though you didn't want to, but I had forced you to go. I was waiting for you when suddenly my phone rang and as I picked it up I was informed that you had met with an accident which made me lose my senses and I fell on my stomach. And the next thing I remember is getting up in the hospital when I was informed that I had lost our child and then I receive the biggest shock of my life as I am informed that I had lost you in the  accident" she spoke as the tears which had formed in her eyes had turned into violent sobs now, Dev was too stunned to react, though it was just a dream but what concerned and befuddled him was the affect it was having on Sonakshi. He just tightened his hug as she nestled more into him. The silence of the night broken by her sobs as the chilly winds blew across them.

"Sona...Calm down Baba...It was just a dream" he said as she slowly calmed down. Dev knew he had to change the topic, so he spoke "By the way Sona...Are you excited about our marriage. I though can't wait" he said as a smile crept upon her face as she came out of his hold and spoke "Hmm...I guess I will wait for 10 months" she said as Dev's eyes widened in disbelief as Sonakshi chuckled and pulled his cheeks while he made a puppy face "Look at your face Dev, you look so cute" as Dev replied "Sona...call me anything but cute" he said as Sonakshi laughed out loud while Dev sighed in relief, happy that she was laughing.

He pulled her on to his chest once again as Sonakshi cuddled more into him, they were silent but right now the silence had its own peace and tranquillity, after a few moments Sonakshi spoke again "By the way Dev, how many kids do you want?" she asked as Dev looked at her in surprise as he spoke "Hmm...two" he said as Sonakshi looked at him and asked "Two??" as he replied "Yes...though I do not want you to undergo pain but I feel our children should experience the love and care of siblings so I would want two kids not anymore though I hate that you would have to go through the pain and struggles of pregnancy two times" he said as tears formed on Sonakshi's eyes, she hugged him as she said "I love you Dev, never ever change" she said as he replied "Never", they kept quiet for some more time before Dev spoke again "By the way if you deliver twins then you don't have to go through pregnancy once again" he said with a smirk Sonakshi hit his arms lightly "Shameless" she said as Dev chuckled "What? You only asked how many kids I wanted so I am giving you the best solution" he said with a chuckle as Sonakshi hit him once again while he held her close to him, slowly ducking his head he kept his lips on hers as they engaged in a soul-searing kiss.

Coming out the kiss both lied down gazing into the night sky as Sonakshi spoke once again "Dev..." she said "Hmm..." he replied as Sonakshi continued "Dev...I am scared?" she said as Dev looked at her in surprise wondering whether she was thinking about the dream again as he spoke "Sonakshi, Are you scared about the dream? I told you right, nothing like that is going to happen, it was just a dream Sonakshi" he said as he got while Sonakshi got up with him as well as she said "No Dev, it's not about the dream, it's something else" she said as Dev looked at her in surprise as he said "Then what are you worried about Sonakshi?"

"Dev...Do you think after marriage I will be able to handle everything at our home. Can I fulfil the expectations that Maa, Dadi, Dad and every family member has with me? Do you think I can be a good wife, a good daughter in law? I don't know Dev, but I feel scared, what if I cannot handle our home and my work together?" she said expressing her fears to him, though for a moment he was caught by surprise he was happy that she had expressed her fears to him.

"Sona...I do not guarantee that you will succeed in everything. But what I can assure you that I will be there at every step with you. Holding your hand by your side" he said as she held his hand tightly while he continued "But Sona...I know my family, in fact you them as well. Do you think they will put pressure on you to prove yourself as a good daughter-in-law?" he asked as she nodded her head sideways vigorously in a no.

"See, you have your answer. Just be yourself Sonakshi, do not change yourself because of someone. Yes, we are getting married but that does not mean you will lose your individuality or make your life revolve around our family. You know right, every member in our family has his/her own identity. They love you for what you are not for what you can give them. Everyone has flaws Sona...me, you, in fact everyone. But what's important is that we accept our flaws and work on it. We will make mistakes, but we learn from our mistakes only, right?" he said as Sonakshi nodded her head in agreement.

"In fact, isn't it the beauty of relationships Sonakshi? That two individuals with different thought processes work together in it to make it beautiful. Just like you even I have apprehensions whether I can be a good son-in-law but then I know your family and then I know that till you are by my side I am ready to face anything and everything. In fact you remember Sona...How you handled those perverts in the flight or how you were fearless before me and others when we have inquired about that incident. I always want you to be that Sona...Strong, independent but at the same time loving and caring. Don't ever change yourself for you are beautiful as you are" he said as Sonakshi left speechless. After a few moments she leaned on to him, his words soothed her heart, she knew everything would not be rosy but what she did know was that till he was by her side she was ready to face anything. She did not know what good she had done to deserve a life partner like Dev but what she knew was that he was worth treasuring and she would do everything possible to keep him happy. Taking sweet nothings both drifted into the land the nod, Sonakshi's bad dream and fears long forgotten.

The next day Dev and Sonakshi got up before anyone else woke up thus saving themselves from the unending teasing of their siblings and friends. Once everyone got up they had their breakfast and rented a few cycles to roam around the beaches in Goa. After completing their trips around the beaches, they left for visiting some of the famous churches and tourist spots in Goa.

They returned in the evening and after freshening up decided to visit some of the famous clubs in Goa to experience the night life there. They did pub-hoping and finally landed in one of the most famous pubs of Goa TITOs. Once they had settled themselves Dev along with Jatin and Avni went to get the drinks for everyone while the others settled on a table near to the dance floor. After a few moments Sonakshi and Riya excused themselves as they needed to use the washroom.

Riya was waiting outside the washroom after freshening up waiting for Sonakshi when suddenly someone pulled her hand and pinned her to the wall as Riya was shocked for a moment and closed her eyes. She slowly opened her eyes after a few moments only to find a man looking at her lustily, roaming his filthy hands on her arms as he moved close to her dangerously pinning her hands on to the wall with his as tears sprang out of Riya's eyes, she was about to shout but her mouth was closed by the man.

Sonakshi in the meantime came out of the washroom and was surprised to not find Riya, she called her out but hearing no response she moved here and there searching for her. Suddenly she heard someone's muffled voice as she moved towards it and was left stunned to see a man trying to force himself on her but what stunned her into silence was that the man was someone she knew. It was the same man whom she had slapped on the flight, IT WAS NONE OTHER THAN KUSHAL SHAH.
