"IT's ABOUT JATIN AND AVNI. THEY BOTH ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP AND RAJEEV DIXIT DOES NOT APPROVE OF IT" said Nani stunning Bijoy while Asha looked at her mother, confusion and sadness both clear on her face.

For a moment Bijoy thought he did not hear it right or maybe his mother-in-law was joking but then the expressions on the faces of both the ladies confirmed that neither did he hear it wrong nor this was a joke, coming out of his initial shock he asked "Maa, what are you saying. Jatin & Avni? But...But till date how come none of us knew about this? Asha did you know about this?"

"Even I just got to know about this a couple of days back Bijoy" said Asha as Bijoy turned to his mother and asked the same question who replied, "I also got to know about it recently Bijoy, in fact even Nirmala came to know about it just a few days back" said Nani as Bijoy nodded his head lightly, he seemed to be in deep thought when suddenly something which he had missed earlier stuck him as he asked Nani "Wait a minute, Maa you said Rajeev does not approve of this relationship but why is it so? I mean what's the problem, both the kids are mature and responsible to take their own decision and they look good together as well. So what's the issue here?" he asked as Nani and Asha looked towards each other wondering whether they should tell about the past of Jatin and Avni to Bijoy, but on second thoughts both knew they had no other option but to tell him the truth.

"Actually Bijoy..." said Nani as she paused while Bijoy waited for her to continue "Avni and Jatin had been in a relationship six year back but had broken up due to some unforeseen situation they had broken up but now both have realized that they could not stop loving the other in these six years" she finished as Bijoy looked flabbergasted "Maa, this is all too confusing, can you both please tell me everything clearly" he said, confusion was clear on his face. First the news of his nephew being in a relationship, then the disapproval of Rajeev and now the fact that Jatin was in a relationship with the same girl he had broken up with six years ago seemed to confuse him to no end.

"Bijoy, I will tell you everything but listen it with a cool mind, do not get angry please" said Asha as Bijoy agreed to her but he did understand that it was something serious else Asha would not have asked him to control his temper. As Asha spoke conveying Bijoy about the past he clenched his fists, clearly indicating that he was agitated which Nani or Asha did not miss.

As Asha finished Bijoy spoke "Maa, let's go to Dixit house. I will deal with Jatin there itself" he said calmly but the neither Asha not Nani miss the anger in his voice, they looked at each other wondering what Bijoy was up to as both wordlessly went behind Bijoy who was already waiting in his car waiting for the ladies to join which they did after a few seconds as they left for the Dixit house.

"DAD, I WANTED TO SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT AVNI AND JATIN" said Sonakshi as Rajeev stiffened while Dev sighed seeing his reaction, would his Dad listen them now??

Rajeev turned away from them wordlessly staring into the night sky as Sonakshi looked at Dev nervously who was equally nervous but did not show it on his face lest Sonakshi loose her confidence, Dev smiled and gestured her to go ahead and speak. She moved towards him and slowly called out "Dad" hoping that he would look at them, but Rajeev was unmoved as once Sonakshi looked at Dev once again who assured her to go ahead as Sonakshi spoke.

"You know Dad when I was child, maybe around 7 yrs old I got hurt while playing and had cried so much because of the pain, it was a minor wound but you know Baba panicked so much that he did not sleep the whole night and next day Maa told me that the previous night Dad would get up from the bed every fifteen minutes and come to my room to make sure that I was fine though Dada was there in the room" she said reminiscing her childhood as Rajeev stood stoic while Dev looked at her lovingly while Sonakshi continued.

"And you know Dad another time when I was around 19 and had just started driving someone hit my parked scooter when I was attending my classes and when I came back Dad got so scared that for the next one month he did not allow me to drive. In fact he used to drop me everyday to college and then after a month when he finally did allow me to drive he always used to be behind me in his car to make sure that I reached the college safely in my scooter" she said as Dev smiled, his father-in-law was definitely a man who treated her daughter as if she was made of glass. While unknown to them there was a small smile playing on Rajeev's lips as well as Sonakshi continued.

"I guess most fathers are like that, they are protective, in fact sometimes over protective about their child. And probably more so for their daughters. They would never say or express their love for their child, but their actions always show the love they hold for them, isn't it Dad?" spoke Sonakshi as Rajeev finally turned to look at her, the smile which was lingering on his lips widened as Sonakshi along with Dev smiled as well. Sonakshi's confidence increased seeing him.

"I know Dad that what Jatin did was a mistake? In fact I can understand your anger Dad, but don't you think he deserves another chance?" she said, finally saying what she wanted to Rajeev kept looking at her. Dev who was till now standing a bit far away moved forward and stood beside Sonakshi holding her left hand his right as Sonakshi spoke again "I know it will be difficult for you to trust a person who has hurt Avni once before but believe me Dad Jatin repents it every day. And I am not saying this as his sister but Avni's friend Dad. Don't you think they both deserve to get their love Dad" she spoke with a hope in her voice as Dev added.

"I agree with Sonakshi dad. I have seen and worked with Jatin over the past couple of months. And I can say one thing for sure Dad. He is a good person and more than that he loves Avni. I agree he did a mistake, but he has repented for it enough Dad. And he deserves a second chance" he said as Sonakshi squeezed his hand tightly to convey that she was delighted with his support.

"Dad, you know how much I care for Avni, she is my childhood friend. Do you think I will let her be with a wrong person?" he said as Rajeev was in deep contemplation, Sonakshi's words along with Dev's were having the desired impact on him, Did he judge Jatin too quickly?

"Dad, you know that Avni will not do anything which you do not approve of even if it means that she needs to let go of her love, so I hope you agree to their relationship. In fact I want you to accept their relationship. Let's go Sonakshi" said Dev as Sonakshi looked at Rajeev with hopeful eyes as both exited the room.

On the way down to the living room where others were waiting for them Sonakshi spoke "Dev, Do you think Dad will agree?" she asked as Dev replied "I don't know Sonakshi, but I do know one thing that dad will never do anything that will sadden Avni so I hope he will agree to their relationship" he said with a smile as Sonakshi smiled as well and kept her head on his shoulder as she spoke "Thank you, thank you for supporting me Dev" she said as Dev replied right away "No Sonakshi, thank you. Thank you for speaking for my friend and her love" he said.

"Of course, I would never loose the chance to leave such an awesome Boudi (Bhabhi or sister-in-law)" said Sonakshi as Dev pecked her forehead and said "Let's go, Sonakshi. Everyone's waiting for us" as both made their way down.

As soon as Ishwari saw the duo coming from Rajeev's room she got up and went towards them "Dev, Sonakshi What did you speak? What did Rajeev say? Did he agree? Why are you guys quiet?" she rattled off the questions one after the other as Dev chuckled "Maa, take a breather and allow us to speak" he said as Ishwari glared at her while Sonakshi told them the happenings in the room. As they heard, Ishwari and Dadi looked at each other with a smile. Though Rajeev had not yet made any decision they knew that their kids had made every effort which would made him accept the relationship.

"Dev, Sonakshi. I am proud of you both beta. You have made every effort so now don't worry. I hope Rajeev will agree and if he does not then I know how to make him agree. After all I am his mother" she said as everyone chuckled. Just then they heard a voice.

"Riya, Go and call Jatin and Avni. I want to speak to them" said the person who was none other than Rajeev who had come down as everyone turned quiet seeing him as Riya went to call the duo.

"Avni, stop crying dear. I promise you I will make every effort to convince uncle, please stop crying" he said to Avni who was still sobbing lightly.

"Avni Di, Jatin Bhaiya, Dad is calling you guys. He wants to speak to you" she said and left leaving the lovebirds alone as Avni looked at Jatin with hope in her eyes while Jatin spoke "Don't worry Avni, I will make every effort" he said as he made Avni get up, wiping her tears he kissed her forehead as both made their way outside.

As they came to the living room they see everyone standing there as Rajeev was the first to speak "Avni, come here beta" he said as Avni made her way forward and stood in front of him as he spoke "You really love Jatin, is it?" he asked as Avni nodded her head while Rajeev continued "Are you sure you trust him? He will not hurt you again?" he asked as Avni replied in a low voice "Yes uncle I am sure of it" she said as Rajeev nodded his head lightly, caressing her head lovingly he moved towards Jatin.

"Young man, do you really love her? Do you promise to keep her happy and never hurt her again?" he asked as Jatin replied in an instant looking into his eyes "Yes Uncle, I promise. I have already experienced the pain of being away from Avni. I am sorry that I broke her heart in the past, but I promise I will take care of her. Never in wild dreams can I think of staying away from her again" he said with all sincerity as Rajeev smiled turning towards Avni he called her to come near him.

As she came forward Rajeev spoke looking at Jatin "Even though I do not share any blood relation with her, she is my daughter Jatin. She holds a same position in my life as my other children. So I am bound to be hurt if she is hurt. But my daughter has made a choice and I have always approved of each of my children's choices so how can I disapprove of you. I accept your relationship, but I will be watching you Young man. Never again hurt my daughter" he said as everyone was delighted listening to Rajeev's words, glad that he had agreed to their relationship.

"Never uncle, never" said Jatin as Rajeev hugged both just then everyone heard a voice.

"Just a minute Rajeev, I want to speak to Jatin" said the person who was none other than Bijoy. He had just arrived on time with his family to listen that Rajeev had approved of their relationship. As Jatin saw Bijoy he knew his uncle was angry and the look on Nani's and Asha's faces confirmed that as well, while Elena who was picked up on the way from her college stood quietly looking at her brother, her expression a mixture of sadness and anger.

"Jatin, When did I or any of our family member give you an impression that you or Elena are a burden on us? Did we ever make you feel so?" he said looking at him as Jatin looked down guiltily while at the same time Nani apprised Dadi and Ishwari of the situation while Asha did the same with Dev and Sonakshi.

As Jatin kept quiet Bijoy moved towards Avni as he spoke "I am sorry beta, because of us Jatin broke your heart and left you hurt. I am sorry" he said looking down as Avni held his hands "No uncle, please. Please do not ask say that, elders do not ask for forgiveness from the younger ones. And why are you saying sorry for Jatin's mistake. Please uncle don't do this" she said in a pleading voice, the very next moment Jatin went towards them.

"Mesho, please. Please don't do this. It was my mistake, I was a fool to think that and break up with Avni. I am sorry, I am sorry Mesho" he pleaded as the next moment Dadi spoke "That you are Jatin, you are really a fool" she said holding his ears while he screamed in pain as everyone chuckled.

"Bijoy beta, both the kids have suffered enough. Now let's not spoil this happy occasion" she said as Bijoy agreed with her while Nani added at the same time "I agree with Nirmala Bijoy, enough of these tears. Now let's celebrate this happy occasion" she said as right at that Ishwari along with Riya went to the kitchen and after a few moments came with sweets for everyone as the atmosphere which was sad and gloomy a few moments ago turned into a happy one.

As everyone fed sweets to one another Avni and Jatin went towards Dev and Sonakshi and thanked them, though they had not said it both Avni and Jatin knew it was their friends who had made efforts for them. As everything settled down after a few moments Dadi spoke "Now that everything is fine, why don't we get the kids engaged?" she suggested as everyone looked delighted, more so the lovebirds while the sisters Elena along with Riya and Nikki screamed in delight as it would give them a chance to shop endlessly. Before anyone could they heard someone say.

"WHOSE ENGAGEMENT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? AND HOW COME I DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT?"
