At Ishwari Niwas

The chirping of the birds signalled the dawn of the new day. Dev had woken up early as he had to leave for Mumbai, after completing his morning chores he got ready and walked down. As he descended down the stairs he saw Avni who was panting entering the house with her travel bag.

"Aa gayi tu. Chal baith ek saath nashta karkey nikaltey hai" said Dev to her while at the same time Dadi and Rajeev entered the living room.

" Dev, usey saans toh lene de. Dekh bechari kitna haanf rahi hai" said Dadi observing that Avni was panting

"Arey Avni beta, kya hua itna haanf kyun rahi ho tum" asked Rajeev at the same time

"Uncle kya bolu, ek to iss Dev ne kal mujhsey der raat tak kaam karvaya jiski wajah se main ghar der se gayi aur phir wahan bacchein mera wait kar rahe toh unke saath khelkar sotey sotey der ho gayi jiski wajah se aaj subah der se uthi aur jaldi se tayar hokey aayi hoon kyunki aap ko pata hai na ki mere boss kitney naraz hotey hai agar koi late hota hai toh" Avni replied in go smirking at Dev who glared at her while Dadi and Rajeev let out a chuckle.

"Ho gaya tera, toh ab nashta kar le. Der ho rahi hai" said Dev holding Avni and dragging her towards the dining table while Rajeev and Dadi joined them as well.

As the breakfast was served Rajeev asked them "Waisey tum dono ne web check-in kar li hai na warna tum dono ko seats ek saath nahi milegi, matlab business class hai toh zyada problem nahi honi chahiye lekin phir bhi"

As soon as Rajeev said that Avni glanced at Dev who at the same time looked at her who replied "Uncle, aapko Dev ke baarey main pata toh hai" she said as Rajeev looked at her in surprise but then realized what she was alluding to.

Even though Dev was the MD at MYSTIQUE AIRLINES he did not have any airs about it. In fact, apart from his office staff & the business circle very few people knew him as the MD of the best airlines in Asia. He never attended any Page-3 parties or appeared on any Magazine as that part was left to Rajeev Dixit who had insisted Dev multiple times to appear for these events reasoning that the day Rajeev retires that be the day he would completely take over his role, until then he would take care of the other nuances of the business. Even the ground-staff & Aircrew at MYSTIQUE did not know who he was because Dev never wanted to reveal it to them and he had a theory attached to it. He felt that once his crew at the Airport & the Airlines know about his identity he would be given extra importance whilst ignoring the other passengers which he absolutely hated as it would reflect poorly on the customer service of the airlines. And this was the precise reason that whenever he was on trips he travelled in the Economy class instead of Business class he was entitled to.

Rajeev nodded as he heard Avni and then looking at Dev he said "Dev, kabhi toh business class main travel kar liya karo. Aakhir tum bhi toh dekho ki hamari airlines ki business class main kitni acchi service hai" even though Rajeev knew what would be Dev's reply he said this everytime because Dev's answer always made his chest swell up in Pride.

"Papa mujhey pata hai ki humari airlines main Business class passengers ko kafi achi service di jaati hai aur honi bhi chahiye, lekin aapko bhi pata hai ki mujhey iss baat main zyada interest hai ki humari service economy class main kitni acchi hai kyunki humarey zyada passengers usmey travel kartey hain aur mera ye manna hai ki humey business class jaisi service economy class main deni chahiye tabhi toh zyada se zyada log humarey airlines main travel karenge. Aur mujhey ek opportunity bhi milti hai logon se directly baat karkey unki feedback lene ka taaki hum service aur bhi behtar kar sakey" Dev said in go as Rajeev & Dadi gave him a proud look while Avni gave him a knowing look, she had heard these lines so many times before.

"Dev, Tum kuch zyada hi chinta kartey ho. Pichley 3 saalon se humarey airlines ko best customer service ka award mil raha hai" said Rajeev asking Dev to go a bit easy

"One can never be too careful Papa, Ek choti si galti aur humari poori reputation daav pe lag sakti hai. Aaj ke Social media ke zamaney main news failtey der nahi lagti. Aapko wo UNI AIRLINES ka case yaad hai unki kitni badnami hui thi aur stocks kitney gir gaye they" explained Dev as Rajeev looked on.

"Accha, Accha theek hai ab jalti apna nashta khatam karo. Humey nikalna bhi hai" said Avni bringing an end to the conversation as they completed their breakfast and bidding everyone goodbye proceeded to the airport.

At Bose house

Sonakshi was a bundle of nerves from morning right from the time she had woken up. It was going to be her first day at work but from the time she had woken up she had a headache thanks to her daily dream which made her sleepless last night and she was cranky, she had already shouted on Elena for taking too much time in the washroom. Asha had heard her shout on Elena and made way to their room.

"Kya hua Sona, chilla kyun rahi hai?" she asked seeing that her normally calm daughter was so restless.

"Dekhiye ney Maa, ye Elena ki bacchi kitni der laga rahi hai washroom main. Aaj mera pehla din hai kaam ka aur mujhey der ho rahi hai. Aur uskey upar ye sar dard hai ki peecha hi nahi chhod raha hai" she said holding her head while sitting down on the bed.

"Pehley toh shaant ho jaa aur ye coffee pee" Asha said handing her the cup of coffee she had brought along. Taking Sonakshi's hand into her's she asked "Kya baat hai Sona, koi tension hai kya. Tu itni pareshan kyun ho rahi hai pehle toh tu kabhi tujhey itna restless nahi dekha"

"Pata nahi Maa, ek ajeeb si ghabrahat hai, shayad pehla din hai kaam iss liye lekin main kafi nervous hoon ki kya main aacha kar paoongi apne kaam main. Aakhir Asia ki sabsey badi Airlines hai aur main koi bhi galti nahi karna chahti" she said expressing her fears to Asha

"Arey tu to meri bahadur beti hai, itna tension kyun le rahi hai. Dekhna tu kafi accha karegi. Aakhir beti kiski hai" Asha said with a smirk as Sonakshi gaped at her and after few seconds both burst out laughing.

"Ab theek hai" Asha asked as Sonakshi nodded in a yes. She continued "Chal Jaldi tayar hokey aa ja warna der ho jayegi" as Sonakshi proceeded to get ready.

As Sonakshi came down she could not find anyone in the living room, wondering where everyone went she was about to call them out when suddenly everyone shouted "SURPRISE" which took her aback while at the same time Jatin came out of the kitchen bringing her favourite cake.

"Ye sab kya hai" asked Sonakshi seeing the decorations in the living room.

"Wo Sona beta, kya hai na aaj tera pehla din hai toh humney socha ki tujhey best wishes de lekin Bose family style main, iss liye ye sab" said Bijoy as Sonakshi hugged him.

"Aap sab na Duniya ki best family ho" she turned towards her family with a smile while at the same time few tears glistened her eyes looking at the efforts her family made to make her feel good.

"Arey Sona, ye sab chod aur jaldi cake cut kar. Mujhsey aur wait nahi ho raha hai" said Sourav, the ever hungry one as Ronita slapped his shoulders while everyone laughed.

Cutting the cake she fed it to her family members as she took the blessings of the elders. Dida had given her a small Ganesha idol instructing her to keep it in her bag all the time as a good luck charm while Bijoy and Asha gifted her a watch as a symbol of start of a new phase in her life. After that everyone moved to breakfast table. Just as she was finishing her breakfast Sonakshi got a call from her office Cab driver who informed that he had arrived to pick her up for the airport drop. Informing everyone about the same and bidding them goodbye Sonakshi moved out with her luggage to proceed for the airport.

Sonakshi was waiting in the lounge along with her colleagues (Flight crew) Pia, Michele & Reena for getting on to the flight for the pre-boarding arrangements. She still had a light headache, wanting to get rid of that before the flight, observing that they still had sometime before leaving for the flight she turned towards her colleagues.

"Mera na thoda sa sar dard kar raha hai, toh main apne liye coffee lene jaa rahi hoon tum Logon ko kuch chahiye" Sonakshi asked them

"Main bhi chalti hoon tere saath, mujhey bhi apney liye green tea leni hai" said Reena as she got up and both left for the coffee shop.

They went to the coffee counter where Sonakshi asked Reena to wait while she places the order. As she picked up the bill after placing the order and just as she turned blindly she crashed into someone.

Sonakshi shut her eyes in fear as she felt she was about to fall but after a few seconds when she felt a pair of warm hands around her instead of the cold airport floor she opened her eyes slowly as she was met with a pair of dark brown eyes staring right back at her as she realized that the person was holding her preventing from the fall while the person holding her was locked in a EYELOCK with her. It was then that she heard.

"Wahin Aankhein"
