After months of planning, it's finally the day of the wedding. I can't wait but I'm also very nervous. We've planned this to the very last detail but it doesn't ease my nerves in the slightest. I haven't seen (Y/N) in a whole day because she explained a tradition that she has back in Kansas. It's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding so she stayed with Glinda the whole day yesterday and today. I was with Maddie getting ready for the day ahead. I was wearing a white suit with my badges on because I need to keep them on.

I would've gone with black but Maddie insisted that I looked better in white. She wasn't wrong. She was our flower girl. But I do have a surprise for (Y/N). I used my Rainbow Mover to invite Dorothy to the wedding. She was happy to be (Y/N)'s bridesmaid but (Y/N) doesn't know I've done this. Well, if she did, it wouldn't be a surprise now, would it? Anyway, Maddie gave me my new white hat and I put it on. I looked in the mirror and that's when reality finally hit me. I'm getting married. This is actually happening. This isn't a dream, it's real life.

"Well, how do I look?" I asked Maddie.

"Like a prince ready to marry his princess," Maddie said smiling.

"Yeah, and the prince couldn't be more nervous," I said over adjusting my suit.

"Stop that. You're going to do great. You're finally going to marry your Queen."

"I know. It's just so surreal. I've only ever dreamt about this day and imagined it but now it's really happening."

"You're ready for this, trust me. Just don't mess up."

That's better said than done. I really hope I don't mess up. I will never have a moment like this again. When we were both ready, we made our way to the altar. All the guests we invited were here except for one person. Where's Marshal Mallow? I thought he'd be here with the Dainty China Princess. I still don't know if they ever got married themselves or if their relationship is still alive. Ignoring it for now, I greeted everyone who congratulated me on the wedding. But Lion soon came up to me saying it was time for my first look at the Bride.

I thought that happened during the ceremony. Am I missing something? I just followed him to (Y/N). Did I forget to mention Lion and Tinman are my best men for today? Well, they are. I guess I have to trust him. He made me close my eyes and said he was going to get (Y/N). Oh, now I am nervous. I'll see her for the first time in her dress. What will she look like? Lion said that (Y/N) was behind me so I could turn around and look at her. Oh, goodness. After some hesitation, I opened my eyes and turned around. IT WAS TINMAN!

He was in a wedding dress pretending to be (Y/N)! I realized what was happening and I pushed Tinman away because he was jokingly asking for a kiss. They pulled a prank on me. Safe to say, I was not happy about this. But they got me good so I can't be too mad at him. I just laughed it off. Tinman told me that I actually couldn't see (Y/N) until the ceremony. Way to get my hopes up. But I'm definitely doing this to Tinman at his wedding for revenge. He got out of the dress and we eventually went to the ceremony.

Now I can see her. First came Maddie with the flowers, then Toto with the rings on his collar, then Dorothy with some flowers, and finally, (Y/N) in her dress. She looks amazing. Beautiful. So many words could describe how she looked. It was no secret that I was crying when I saw her. I wiped my tears quickly as she arrived. I took her hand and lifted her veil. She was beautiful. The ceremony started and we said our vows and promised to be with each other no matter what happens.

We took the rings from Toto's collar and exchanged them. At last, I was given permission to kiss her and I wasted no time doing that. Everyone cheered and we made our way to the next part of this amazing day. The reception. On the way there, (Y/N) asked me if I was the one who invited Dorothy to Oz for the wedding and I proudly said yes. We said hello to more of the guests but still no sign of Marshal. I wonder what happened. But Tinman soon took us away to sit down as it was time for Dorothy, Maddie, and the China Princess to make a speech. Did they plan this part? Either way, we listened to the speech.

By the end of it, I loved what they had done. Very catchy too. The party went on with food and cake I couldn't eat because I don't need to and I can't. But I did cut the cake with (Y/N) and that was good enough for me. Then it was time for our first dance which we've been practicing for ages on.

And it was all worth it. Everyone loved what we had created in the past few months. We even ended it with a kiss. People started dancing too once we had finished ours. We even joined them occasionally. After a few hours of this, I was soon dragged away by Tinman, Lion, and Dorothy. We just had a little celebration of our own in a separate room.

'Raise a glass to freedom,' Dorothy said smiling

'Hey!' We cheered

'Something you will never see again!' Tinman and Lion said smiling

'No matter what she tells you,' Lion said smiling

'Let's have another round tonight!' Dorothy said smiling

'Raise a glass to the four of us!' Tinman said smiling

'To the newly not poor of us!' Lion said starting a stupid dance that the other two joined in for

'We'll tell the story of tonight,' Dorothy said smiling

'Let's have another round-' Tinman said smiling

That's when someone I've been waiting for finally arrived

"Well, if it isn't Marshal Mallow," I said smiling

"Sir!" Marshal said smiling

"I didn't think you would make it."

"To be sure."

"Marshal!" Dorothy and Lion greeted

"I came to say congratulations," Marshal said smiling

"Spit a verse, Marshal!" Lion encouraged

"I see the whole gang is here."

"You are the worst, Marshal!" Dorothy said

"Ignore them. Congrats to you, Lieutenant Colonel. I wish I had your command instead of manning the Wizards' journal," I joked

"No, you don't," Marshal said not believing it

"Yeah, I don't."

"Now, be sensible. From what I hear, you've made yourself indispensable."

'Well, well, I heard you've got a special someone on the side, Mallow,' Tinman seemed to tease

"Is that so?" I asked

'What are you tryin' to hide, Mallow?' Tinman asked

"I should go," Marshal said

"No, these guys should go," I said pushing the other three out

They left even if they didn't want to.

'It's alright, Mallow. I wish you'd brought this girl with you tonight, Mallow,' I said

"You're very kind, but I'm afraid it's unlawful sir," Marshal said

"What do you mean?"

"The Princess is engaged."

"I see."

"She's engaged to a China officer."

"Oh shoot..." I wasn't expecting that

'Congrats again, Scarecrow. Smile more. I'll see you on the other side of the world.'

'I will never understand you. If you love this woman, go get her! What are you waiting for?'

'I'll see you on the other side of the world.'

So the princess can't be with Marshal. I wonder what happened there. I'll find out some other day. I've got the rest of my wedding to celebrate. I left and spent the rest of the night with (Y/N). I'm just happy this day finally came. We've both waited long enough.
