"Don't touch me...", Arjun hissed when another doctor tried to perform some tests on him.

When Arjun regained consciousness, he left the hospital ward, but the doctors stopped him and informed him that he might be infected with the coronavirus.

He became angry and yelled at any doctor who came near him. Arjun was throwing tantrums, and the doctors were very angry with this celebrity.

Arjun had a mild fever and a sore throat, and the doctors were not sure about his health, so they decided to conduct tests, but Arjun was Arjun.

"What's going on?", Pashika came and saw three or four doctors surrounding Arjun, who were sulking. She saw him, but he didn't see her because of all the medical gear.

"Dr. Sinha! We are trying to take his blood samples for tests, but he is not cooperating...", another doctor said, and Pashika nodded.

"Doctor Deep will stay here with me, and the others can go and do their duty. I'll take care of this...", Pashika said, and Arjun was trying to process where he had heard this voice. Her voice was very familiar to him.

"Listen, Mr. Celebrity. India is in a very crucial state, and we are doing our best to control this epidemic situation, but you're not helping us...", Pashika said, and Arjun looked away from her. She knew he was pressing his lips into a thin line. She observed half of his facial features; the other half was covered by a mask.

Pashika cleaned his hands and took a small amount of blood. He winced, and Pashika cleared her throat. Her heart cracked when she heard him wince from the pain. It was true; she still had feelings for him. After he broke her heart, she felt his pain.

Another doctor conducted another test on him while Arjun was staring at her. She felt his burning gaze on her but didn’t say anything because he was nothing to her. But again, her heart betrayed her, and she looked at him. His eyes scrunched, and she knew he was smiling under his mask.

"Your reports will come in two days; until then, we will place you in an isolation ward...", Dr. Deep said, and Arjun nodded.

Pashika and Dr. Deep shared a look, and he left. Pashika prepared his chart and was doing her work properly until he grabbed her wrist. The pen dropped from her grip, and her eyes went wide. She was in three layers of medical gear, but still, she felt an electric shock from his touch.

Arjun grinned and said, "Nice to meet you after five long years, Dr. Pashika Sinha."

Pashika closed her eyes, and her heart was pounding frantically inside her chest. She gulped down nervously and pulled her hands from his grasp.

"Don't forget that you're a patient here, not a film star, and I'm doing my job, so behave yourself...", Pashika said, gritting her teeth, and Arjun felt bad because of her words.

"Oh, so I'm a job for you, huh?", he asked.

"Mr. Film Star! India is in a lockdown period, and we, doctors, are sacrificing ourselves for this nation. For our country, just to protect our family members, and you are misbehaving with us...", Pashika spat bitterly.

Arjun looked away from her and murmured softly, "You know that I hate shots."

Pashika knew about his fear; that's why she sent the other doctors back and did the test herself because Arjun didn’t like to be touched by anyone he didn’t know. But this wasn’t the right time to sulk.

"Take rest. Your meals will come on time...", Pashika said and put his medical file aside and started to move, but Arjun's next words stopped her.

"Don't go... Don't leave me here...", His words were soft and broken.

Pashika knew everything about him: what he thought, what he did, what he wanted, what he dreamed, and what he liked and disliked. But still, she didn’t understand why he broke her heart.

"You left me a long time ago, and don't forget that I'm a doctor; the whole hospital and patients need me...", she said, leaving him in his melancholy mode.

Pashika was hurt to see him in the hospital. Her heart cried to even think that he was infected. She mentally prayed for his safety and went to attend to other patients.

In the hospital room, Arjun was thinking again and again about what she said to him.

'You left me a long time ago...'

'You left me a long time ago...'

Arjun cursed and sneezed. He closed his eyes and started to think about his past: his days with his friends and his special one.

Flashback:

ABC High School, Delhi...

A boy was running on the school premises to attend his class but got caught by the school principal.

"Arjun Kashyap! You're late...", the school principal yelled at him, and he rolled his eyes because it was not new for him.

"Sorry, sir. It won’t happen again...", he said grumpily, and the principal shook his head and told him to join the class.

Arjun rushed into his classroom and sat down with his classmates.

"Hey, Nerdy!! ...", Arjun poked the student sitting beside him.

"My name is Mompi Sarkar, Jun, so stop calling me Nerdy. I'm tired of hearing this stupid name...", Mompi looked at him and said angrily. Arjun grinned like a Cheshire cat, and Mompi hit his shoulder.

"By the way, where are the toppers? ...", Arjun asked when he didn’t find the two brilliant students in his class. He looked at every bench but didn’t see them.

"Rudra and Pashika went to meet the accountants...", Mompi said.

"Why? ...", Arjun asked.

"I don't know, Junie, so don't disturb me. I have to finish this work", Mompi said.

Soon, Pashika and Rudra entered the class with their homeroom teacher (class teacher).

He saw that Rudra looked sad, and the same went for Pashika. His heart constricted at their appearance.

"Hey, Nerdy, look why they are looking gloomy...", Arjun poked Mompi again, and she turned around to look at them.

Her eyes halted on Rudra, who was looking handsomely sad. She shook her head and started to say something to Arjun, but their class teacher scolded Mompi for disturbing the class.

Rudra and Pashika looked at her, and Mompi’s face heated when her eyes collided with Rudra’s for a second. She kicked Arjun, and he yelped in pain, and the class teacher threw them outside the class.

"Arjun Kashyap! I'll kick you hard if you ever sit beside me...", Mompi said, and Arjun pouted.

"Chill, Nerdy. We are about to complete our tenth board exams, and then we will be separated from each other because of the new streams we will choose for our future...", Arjun said sadly, and Mompi's heart cracked.

It was true; only in two months would their exams be conducted, and after their tenth board exams...

They wouldn't be able to see or meet each other. She wouldn't meet him, the most irritating boy of her life. She liked Arjun as a friend, as a classmate, as a desk partner, but most importantly, as a brother.

Arjun irritated her the most, but he was also the one who helped her and supported her whenever she fell down or needed a true, genuine friend. Her heart cried when she thought that she wouldn't be able to see her crush, her first love, Rudra Singh Rathore, and her sweet and shy friend, Pashika, who spoke very little but always correctly.

Fat, big tears began to fall from her eyes, and Arjun gasped when he saw her like this.

"Mompi, why are you crying?", Arjun asked panicked.

"I'm sad and don’t want us to separate from each other...", she said, sobbing.

The teacher heard her crying and came out of the classroom to ask her, but she didn’t say anything to the teacher.

Arjun said, "Teacher, her tummy is hurting." The teacher nodded and sent them back into the class.

Rudra and Pashika looked at her worriedly, and Mompi gave them a small smile.

Their school ended, exams ended, and their batch ended. A new chapter of their lives started, and their paths parted because of the streams they chose for their careers.

Pashika chose biology in 12th grade, Rudra chose PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths), and Mompi and Arjun chose commerce but in different schools and colleges. But the most satisfying thing for them was that they were in the same city, Delhi, their home.

They met again and fell in love. They confessed, but the confession wasn’t enough to stop the storm that caused them to part ways...

Rudra broke Mompi's heart...

Arjun left Pashika in tears...

She was surrounded by ten to twelve people who were trying to misbehave with her and her team. They started to beat the cameraman and broke her news channel van.

"What are you doing?", Mompi asked, and soon someone grabbed her hands.

"Leave me; you don't know me!", The cameraman and her team were trying to protect each other, but someone snatched her dupatta from her shoulder, and she screamed.

She saw her team being beaten badly; the cameraman was bleeding from his head. Tears were flowing down her cheeks, and she trembled when her eyes landed on the person who violated her dignity. She slapped him, and people started to throw big stones at her and her team. She saw her death.
