Chapter 41
On the last day, before the penance while she was getting ready.
Bhringu entered inside her cave room suddenly.
She turned around to face him.
An evil smirk marred his face, that had her shuddering where she stood, confusion filled her along with terror her breath hitched, her heart thudded, terror settled in the pit of her stomach like a heavy rock.
Dizziness swept through her making it impossible for her to think straight, she blinked her eyes hard, biting her lip to keep herself awake.
Bhringu chuckled, he knew the poison in her had done its job, only a few hours before she died now.
He had expected her to die sooner, seeing that she was getting poisoned every day, but surprisingly she had lived so long.
His eyes lit with evil intent, good that she survived for so long he can now do as he wished.
After all what could a simple poisoned damsel do?
She was on the verge of dying he might as well take some advantage of her before she is silenced for forever.
"Oh, your highness, why are you shying out today. When all this while when I touched your body you never stopped me. You believed everything I told you didn't you. " He taunted, his voice ringing with arrogance, a laughter sneaked past his lips.
Icy coldness filled her, as the realisation sat heavy on her chest.
Bhringu in his arrogance let the dark magic aura drop that had making her trust him.
He chuckled, as he watched her freeze, her face a mask of shock.
Stupid woman, can’t even bloody protect themselves, he thought as he glared at her.
Hate filled his veins like blood, freezing any piece of humanity he once might have possessed.
Weak stupid woman, good for nothing.
“Your highness? A queen? My foot! You women are meant to be nothing but the vermin that get crushed under the sole of a man’s shoe.
How week can you all be?
And you specially, people call you a queen!
But in all honesty, you are nothing but a whore. A whore to Pandavas, a whore for five men. Who has done nothing, you couldn’t stop the black magic that I weaved around you? Day by day, you drank poison by your own hands, oh you were so damn stupid that you didn’t even know that I killed your child, and you have been carrying his dead body, for seven long days!” He growled the words, his sharp voice grating on Panchaali’s nerves, his words were laced with poison, willing her to die this very instant.
Women were pathetic, bloody good for nothing beings.
Her ears rang, as she stood there frozen.
Her baby?
Her hands travelled to her bump, caressing it.
Tears stung in her eyes; her throat tightened making it difficult for her to swallow.
Pain slithered through her heart, the agony of which was so intense that her knees gave up.
No longer able to hold herself up, tears traced down her cheeks, one after another as she screamed on top of her, trying to ease the agony that had taken residence in her heart.
She screamed, as the pain just intensified in her heart. Making it difficult for her to even think.
She had lost her child, the mere thought of leaving in a world where her child didn’t was too much for her.
The sharp intense burn in her, just seemed to amplify with each passing moment, so many dreams, so many expectations for her child and now they will forever be one.
She trembled where she stood, the ache in her heart making it difficult for her to even think straight. A loud cry left her mouth, as she wailed on top of her voice, her voice box stretching to its limit wanting to show the sea of agony that had filled him, dark, unbidden agony.
She screamed and screamed, clawing at her heart, as though trying to pull the aching organ out of her chest, hot sizzling agony was cutting her from within as the memories of her past began to weave in her mind.
Bhringu laughed and laughed, a huge grin marrying her face.
Every time he killed a woman, his glee would know no bounds, it just sky rocketed.
He wanted to kill her this very instant, but Shakuni’s orders were clear, he had to get her to the centre of the town, where he would kill her in front of everyone.
He wrapped his hand around her arm, and dragged her out of the cave, he knew she was too lost to protest.
The people in the town watched as Bhringu pushed their queen hard on the floor, the crowed laughed.
To them she was nothing but a whore, they had once respected her, but that King Shakuni had come and told them all about the real intentions of this woman and her husbands, how they were just trying to win their trust so they could kill everyone.
Either way they hated all the pandavas way too much, they had all been cold blooded monsters, they could never do anything good, they should have known that this was all a sick set up.
The crowd was filled with hostility, wanting nothing more than the death of Panchaali and her husbands.
Shakuni laughed with his two nephews, Duryodhan and Dushasan, “Didn’t I tell you son that I will get her on her knees, see there she is!”
He snapped as he pointed to the girl ahead of him, a smirk on his face, the evil in him was dancing with joy, celebrating his victory.
“Yes mamashree, today shall be end of this whore.” Duryodhan said with a smirk on his face as he watched Panchaali, who sat motionless, tears no longer flowed down her eyes, her lips were silent, she looked completely broken.
She no longer cared what happened to her, her child had died, the mere thought had a fresh set of tears tracing down her cheeks as she sat on the floor, her face nothing but a mask of pain and agony, that was flowing through her like a river of lava, burning her from within.
The mere action of breathing was painful, taking in oxygen had her heart jarring with pain with the realisation that her child no longer breathed with her.
“You whore! Stand up! I wasn’t able to disrobe you in your past life because of that bloody Govind but today, look around he is nowhere, he can’t help you today!” Shouted Dushasan, his words ringing throughout the place, the malice and arrogance ringing through it, Panchaali sat motionless staring at the ground.
“Who will save you today? Why are you so quite today?! Doesn’t that sharp tongue of yours has anything to say today?” He taunted, his voice dripping with dark humour.
Bhringu chuckled, “How will it work Rajkumar, the fool of a woman has killed her own child.”
He said, his voice laced with humour, his eyes lit up as he watched Dushasan move up to her, his hand reaching for her palloo.
Panchaali’s eyes for the first time travelled to him, her face held no expression as she looked at him.
Seeing her face had everyone freezing, terror thrummed through them as they all looked at her.
The fire in her eyes had returned with a vengeance, if death ever had a face it would be hers in this moment.
“You have done all the damage that you could, you can longer harm me for I am not a human anymore, I am death, death of every person presents here.
You all worship goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi. Bharat is country that is said be respecting women, this is how you all do it?! This way! Every day in some form or another, somewhere a girl is humiliated, in the name of societal rules, what would people say, sometimes because of her clothes while others because she is dark skinned. Yet every day, even after drinking the poison of all this humiliation she goes on, serving your families, sacrificing her needs and small wishes so you can be happy. Women is weak you say, how can women be weak when she has the capacity to give birth, when she can bring a new life in this world. Everyday a girl is killed somewhere, or raped in the name of honour and various other bullshit. In the past it was Draupadi, now I as Panchaali, in the future it shall be Nirbhaya or even the daughter of Hathras, day after day, time and again women are trampled under the feet of society. Innocent normal women, who wanted nothing more than to live a normal life, than why can’t monsters like you ever let us leave ?! What had I ever done to you in the past ?! What had I done to you now?! What had Nirbhaya or any other girl done to deserve this?! Nothing! We were just trying to live a normal life, in our own way! Why couldn’t you people ever just let us LIVE! ARE WE ASKING FOR SOMETHING IMPOSSIBLE!” She shouted, her body vibrating with anger and agony as she glared at everyone, her throat clogged up, as her eyes travelled to her praja, her people, people she considered her children, and they stood here wanting her death.
Her throat tightened as she wanted to scream at them all, she stood on her wobbly legs facing the crowd head on, she had done nothing to be ashamed of them.
She fisted her hand to stop it from trembling.
Betrayal stung hard, she had made so many sacrifices for them, and what had they given her in return? This.
“You all are no less to be blamed, even after so many deaths, so many rapes what have you all done. For one moment you will listen to the news feel sorry, or pass comments on what she should have done or not. What have you really done to ensure that this doesn’t repeat? Nothing. Crowd has no brain they say, but in true sense day after day you all have lost your heart, you all have lost the last piece of humanity! How many more deaths and rapes are you willing to take before you actually do something. Enough is enough! I will end this all here today! I WIILL THE DEATH OF EVERYONE HERE, I WILL BEGIN THE DESTRUCTION! I WILL SHOW YOU THE STRENGTH OF A WOMEN, THIS BODY OF MINE IS BOUND TO PROTECT TO YOU ALL AS A QUEEN! HENCE I WILL END IT TOO! BEFORE I END YOU ALL” She shouted, the words on top of her voice, her breathing leaving in sharp pants as she glared at everyone with sheer hatred, her dark eyes filled with fire, her body vibrated, her words send the wave of terror across everyone, all watched all Panchaali’s body dropped dead on the floor, in her place stood Kaali, her hair flying back revealing her thunderous expression, everyone screamed in terror as Kaali roared in anger.
Her hand tightening on her weapon. . .
