Chapter 2

"Party in two days!" Tony called out to the rest of the team. Over the past two days, Bruce and Tony practically lived in the lab. No one knew exactly what they were doing there, but it had to be big.

"And he emerges from his cave," Mia called out sarcastically at the sight of the billionaire. "Watch out, he might be cranky."

Clint, Natasha, Steve, and Thor, who were all sitting near there, laughed as Tony glared. "Ha ha very funny, kid," He walked over and ruffled her half-up half-down hair, the half-up part being in a braid.

"Hey!" The teen exclaimed, her voice cracking in the middle.

Tony smirked at her then came to a realization. "Do you even have anything nice you can wear to this party?"

Mia scoffed, pretending to be offended. "I do. Me and Mom went shopping a while ago."

"It's Mom and I!" Bruce yelled, still in the lab.

"Oh, shut it!"

On the day of the party, everything had been set up and everyone was getting ready. Tony said guests would be any second now, so Mia really needed to hurry up. She stared at the mirror, standing in her black dress with purple accents. A flash of Red Room appeared in the mirror making Mia's breathing hitch. "No... Mia, stop it. You're fine," the redhead thought.

A knock on the door brought Mia back. "You ready, detka?" Nat asked from outside.

Mia took a deep breath and turned away from the mirror. "Yeah," she called, walking towards the door and opening it.

"You look beautiful," the older Widow told her.

Mia gave her mother a light smile, still not being fully used to receiving compliments. "Thanks, mama, you too."

The party was fine, more socializing than the teenager usually liked to do, but she was used to these parties by now. Plus, she knew most of the people there. She sat at the bar listening to Thor talk about some drink he declared 'Not for Mortal Men'. Mia laughed and muttered, "Good thing I prefer Vodka."

Natasha walked over just then and grabbed the bottle of Vodka, right before Mia's fingers touched it. "You're underage," she scolded.

The little redhead grinned. "And I'm Russian." Nat just glared at her kid, knowing that was definitely something she would've said at that age. "Super Soldier Serum, remember?" Mia took the bottle from Natasha and poured both of them a glass. "I can't get drunk."

The mother rolled her eyes but took the Vodka anyway, both Widows downing the drinks in seconds. "Bonding~" the younger sang, raising her glass.

Natasha elbowed her in the ribs, making Mia gasp in fake offense. "What? Come on, Mom!"

Tony walked over and handed Mia some random drink, completely ignoring her mother trying to keep her from drinking. "Let the kid live a little, Nat."

"She can live when she's older," Nat scoffed.

"Mommmm," Mia groaned. Tony pat her back and went to have a conversation with someone else.

Natasha turned to walk away but turned to face her child again. "Don't drink too much. I don't care if you can't get drunk."

Mia rolled her eyes and smirked lightly. "Deal."

The older Widow walked away and Mia was left with her thoughts. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. A target and gun appeared in front of her. A scream. A recognizable scream. The scream of her best friend. She opened her eyes again and took a deep breath, shaking the thoughts away.

The rest of the party was okay, Mia was able to ignore all thoughts of her past... Okay maybe that was a lie, but it was only a few times. She had to step out of the room a couple of times to recollect herself then she pushed her thoughts and emotions away, per usual. She was, however, looking forward to this party because her dad was supposed to come back from whatever mission Hill sent him on. But the party was soon to dissolve and he was nowhere to be seen. Mia sighed and downed another drink. Her mom would kill her if she knew how many drinks she had... but she didn't need to know. None of the other Avengers would tell on her anyway.

She was behind the bar, fixing herself yet another drink in an attempt to drink away the memories when she heard the familiar voice. "Does your mother know you drink?"

Mia turned around slowly and as soon as her wide-eyed gaze landed on the man, she practically jumped over the counter, straight into his arms. "I missed you."

Bucky smiled and hugged his daughter tightly before pulling away. A prominent frown appeared on his face as his hand reached up to her cheek. "What happened, Doll?"

"'s nothing. Don't even worry about it. Mom's making it seem worse than it is," she reassured him and went in for another hug.

"Look who finally showed up!" Tony exclaimed as he came to get another drink.

Bucky grinned before saying, "Brought a stray with me."

Everything was quiet for a second, then Nick Fury stepped into the room and everyone's faces lightened.

"Fury, you son of a bitch," said Steve from his spot on one of the couches.

"Ooh, you kiss your mother with that mouth?" The older man asked, making the captain sigh. Hill already told him about what Steve said. "Didn't know we recruit kids now."

"We made an exception for baby Romanoff here," the billionaire explained, ruffling the kid's hair again.

"If you touch my hair one more time, Stark, I swear I'll break your arm."

The boss turned to Natasha who simply nodded. "We finally found her, Nick."

He knew that Nat had a daughter and they tried looking for her but came up with nothing. They weren't even sure if she was still alive.

The party dissolved, leaving the team and Maria Hill still chatting over drinks with Mjolnir on the table in front of them. The men started talking about how it was a party trick, still not believing in the hammer's powers. So they decided to try to lift it.

Mia watched as Tony, Rhodey, Steve and her dad argued like toddlers. She downed yet another shot of vodka before shifting her attention to her mother. "Cum reziști cu ei? Îs mai rău decât copii mici," she asked with an apologetic look on her face.

Natasha chuckled. "Răbdare. Muuuuuultă răbdare. Dacă nu aveam erau morți deja."

"Fucking testosterone," she mumbled as she got up and stretched a bit.

"Careful, dorogoy. Steve doesn't like that kind of talk," the woman said with a small smirk as she looked at the captain.

"You know what, Romanoff..." he replied, making her smirk even harder.

Banner looked over at the mother-daughter duo and asked, "Widows? Wanna give it a try?"

"No. That's a question I don't need answered."

"Yeah, sure, whatever," said the younger ginger and stepped in front of the hammer, picking it up with ease. "Are you guys serious? This thing's made out of styrofoam."

"Congrats kid. You rule Asgard now," Tony joked, a surprised yet offended look still plastered on his face.

Mia put the hammer down with a smirk. "Nah, I'm good here. Someone has to annoy you, Shellhead." She made her way over to her mom, giving her one last hug before saying, "Goodnight y'all," and went back to her room, leaving the adults to do whatever.

She wasn't going to sleep, she knew her nightmares wouldn't let her. She was gonna try to find more information on the enhanced and then go train. So far, all she found was their names, powers, and some family history.

The man messing with Clint was Pietro and basically, he was super fast, the woman who messed with Rogers was Wanda, Pietro's twin sister, and the girl who messed with her head was Diana, Wanda's daughter – or clone more accurately. Wanda and Diana's powers were telekinesis, mind control, and energy manipulation, and she found out that HYDRA made Wanda practically clone herself, but somehow made said clone – Diana – even stronger and more powerful. The twins grew up in Sokovia, their parents died when they were 10 when a STARK Industries bomb exploded. Somehow they survived and eventually volunteered as HYDRA subjects, completely unaware of what they were getting themselves into. The Russian's heart broke at Diana's story, somehow reminding her of her own story – Diana was born in a cage just like her, she was made to do all those things just like her, she just didn't know any better.

Back in the common room, most of the men were still shocked. "How the Hell is the kid worthy and we're not?" asked the billionaire with a puzzled yet offended look on his face.

"How could you all be worthy with so much blood on your name? I'm surprised the kid is after all she's done," a robotic voice announced, making the team turn around even more surprised than before.

"JARVIS!" exclaimed the doctor, but the AI didn't reply, worrying everyone.

"I had to kill the other guy."

The archer was the first to speak, "You killed someone? Who the Hell is this?"

Banner's surprised voice echoed through the room as he looked at the bot and then back at his friend. "Ultron..."

"My task is world peace and the first step is the extinction of the Avengers."
