Ash's POV

"Misty!" I yelled. I was ready to charge out and find her, until someone grabbed onto my collar. I turned around and saw Gary.

"Gary! Can't you see I'm trying to find Misty?" I screamed. "Calm down! We'll find her! And I'm coming with you!" Gary yelled. "What! No! I'm doing this myself!" I clenched my fist. "No! I really care about Misty! I want to find her!" Gary shot at me. "Well so do I!" I answered. "No! You don't understand! I really, really care about her! And when I found out the two of you were a couple–" Gary quieted down. He looked like he was going to break down. "I-I was devastated!" He let me go.

"Oh! Gary don't cry!" I saw Serena, clenching to the Vulpix.

"Let's go." I huffed as the three of us trudged along the storm. "Where could she have gone?" Serena asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "Look! The storm is stopping!" Serena was right, the rain turned to a drizzle and the sun was peaking out of the clouds.

I looked up at the sky. Alola's skies are gorgeous. I looked at Serena I never realized how beautiful her hair looked in the sun. My heart started beating really fast and my face turned a pinkish color.

What's wrong with me?! I never feel this way when I'm around Misty! Wait–if this is the feeling of love...then...what do I feel for Misty?

"Ash?" I felt a tug on my shirt. I snapped back to reality. "Huh? What?" I turned to Serena. "Gary thinks he found Misty, this way." Serena began to run. "Hey wait!" I yelled. She giggled.

I ran down the trail, with the wind blowing behind me. All of a sudden, I tripped on a rock, and it set me tumbling. "GAAAAAAA! SERENA LOOK OUT!" I yelled. But she didn't react quickly enough, and we were both tumbling down the hill together.

Everything came to a complete stop. I opened my eyes to see Serena's face right in front of mine. Our noses brushed slightly and I could see her red blush clearly–I bet I was blushing way more.

"A-Ash.." Serena squeaked. "Oh! Sorry!" I quickly got up and held out my hand for Serena to take, and she took it. I pulled her into a small hug. I laughed nervously, "sorry..didn't mean to do that." She shook her head "You're fine."

Vulipx jumped into Serena's arms and licked her cheek as she laughed.

"Guys! I found Misty!" Gary walked over to us with Misty trailing behind him. She had her head down. She's really upset.

"I'm sorry Ash." She turned to me. "I think we need to break up. I don't feel the connection we had back when we were younger. I'm sorry."
