Zelda's POV

Ganon was really starting to tick me off.

"Aw, Zelda," he said to me, holding out his hand and walking closer. "Come on. I gave you a new room to live in, and I'll even let you eat dinner with me tonight."

"Why would I want to eat with you?" I growled. I spun around, facing him. I ran towards him, pushing him out of my new room. "Get out!" I screamed.

He didn't say anything after that.

I crossed my arms over my chest. The nerve of that man...!

Suddenly, I heard my door swing open. My face turned red with anger, and my arms fell at my sides. I just want to be left alone! Is that too much to ask for?!

I spun around. "I told you to leave-" I began to yell, when I stopped.

It couldn't be.

How was she alive?! I screamed in my mind.

"Agitha...?" I spoke, looking at her. There was a small red blotch on her cute orange top, to the bottom left side of her stomach. She wasn't smiling, however, she wasn't frowning, either. She just stared at me, breathing heavily. She must have ran to get here.

Agitha nodded. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" She bent over her knees, catching her breath. "Whoo! Oh, man. I'm not as great of a runner as you are. I didn't even run that far, and I'm out of breath... How does that even work?"

My eyes became glossy, and my vision began to slowly blur. "I thought... G... He..."

Agitha straightened her body, looking at me with a cheerful smile on her lips. "He can't get rid of me that easily!"

I shook my head. "You were pulled into this...?"

Agitha frowned. "Yeah, but I think it's kinda cool," she laughed. "I knew a princess, who turned out to be my best friend!"

The tears began to silently roll down my cheeks. Agitha stepped forward, spreading her arms out past her sides. I didn't hesitate as I ran into her outstretched arms, throwing myself at her. She gingerly wrapped her arms around my back as we fell to the floor, holding each other.

"I thought you were dead!" I cried. "I couldn't believe it... And I... And I..."

Agitha closed her eyes, holding me tightly. "It's okay... It's okay..."

"I love you, Agitha..." I whispered. "I love you so much..."

Agitha began to cry. "I love you too, Zellie." She rubbed my back, laying her head on the top of mine. "I love you too."

She pulled away, placing her hands on my shoulders. She looked at me.

"We also brought a friend..." Agitha smiled, moving her hands from my shoulders to her face as she wiped away her tears.

Wait, we? I questioned, but shook of what she had said. Maybe she just made a small error in her speech.

Agitha slid over to the left a little bit, revealing my newer friend at the time.

I gasped. "Midna...?! I thought you were..."

Midna fell to the floor and hugged me tightly. "I'm not! Turns out I have a brother, and he saved me!"

I looked at her and smiled warmly. "That's wonderful! I hope we can meet him sometime!"

Midna nodded, tears falling from her orange eyes. "Yeah!"

I squeezed her tighter, my smile fading into a sorrowful frown. He's not here... Did he really stop caring about me...?

Midna suddenly pushed me away, standing up quickly. She ran to the side of the room where Agitha stood, and they both stared at me. I looked at them strangely, my heart thumping within my chest.

I turned towards the door, and there he was.

I stood up, clutching my hands over my chest. I opened my mouth to speak his name, but nothing emerged except a hoarse squeak. I didn't cry. He just stood there, holding out his left hand to me. It seems like his throat was paralyzed, just like mine. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out.

I shook my head sadly, turning around.

"You look really beautiful in that white dress, you know," he finally spoke with a light chuckle.

Tears warmed my eyes. I couldn't even smile. This felt wrong; he had kissed another girl.

I spun around, facing him.

Yet I knew, all along, that wasn't just a fake image... Ilia had really kissed him.

"You have no right to say that!" I cried. Link just stared at me, his smile slowly fading. It killed me to see him sad, but he hadn't known that I had seen.

He didn't know I saw Ilia kiss him.

"What're you..." he began, stepping closer to me. Like a frightened animal, I backed away.

"I saw!" My heart began to beat faster and faster. "I saw what Ilia did to you!"

Link cocked an eyebrow. "What..."

"Ilia kissed you, and you didn't care!"

Link froze.

"She... What?!"

I nodded slowly. "Ganon showed me. He showed me things about Agitha and Midna, too, but..." I turned to my friends, flashing them a toothy smile. "I could just tell that what he showed me wasn't true...! I know what they're like, and they wouldn't have done the things Ganon showed me..." I slowly turned back towards Link, my hands falling down to my sides.

Link laughed nervously. "Then, what about me? What if, what he showed you, was an illusion, just like Midna's and Agitha's?"

I wiped my cheeks dry with my clammy hands. "I just know."

Link frowned. "What if it wasn't true?" His eyes sparked, and I could tell he wasn't sad, but angry, instead. "I know for a fact Ilia hadn't kissed me while I was awake, or I would have-"

When the tears began to flow faster, Link stopped speaking. He just stared at me.

"I was asleep...?" Link muttered.

I nodded slowly.

Link looked at the floor, no longer able to look at me. "Zelda, if I would have known-"

I ran over to him, wrapping my arms around his neck. I began sobbing harder into his shoulder. "Why am I bashing you about this...?" My head felt light as I spoke. "I'm just glad to have you back, Link..." I tugged on the back of his tunic, praying that he wasn't upset with me.

He wrapped his arms around my back, letting me know that he was not, in fact, upset with me.

"It's okay," he said. "I understand why you were upset. And to be honest, I never even knew..."

I shook my head within his shoulder. "I just want to go home... To forget that I am a princess... I want things to go back to the way they used to be..."

Link pulled away and smiled. "I want to go home with you all," he looked over at Agitha and Midna, nodding his head. He then looked back down at me, tilting his head a bit to the right. "Do you want to go home?"

I smiled happily. "You guys saved me..."

Link grinned. "Yes, we did."

Midna and Agitha walked up beside us, not speaking a single word. We all held hands, closing our eyes. I focused my energy to the palms of my hands...

"It's not working," Midna broke the silence, opening her eyes.

I stared at her, tears in my eyes. "Ganon has bound me to this place." I shook my head, still smiling. "I cannot leave unless he allows me to."

"Guess you'll just have to kick his butt here, huh?"

I smiled. "Impa? Is that you?"

Agitha, Midna, Link and I all looked around for her, but she was no where to be found.

"My physical form cannot be here, and for that I am sorry," she apologized. "However, I can assure you his defeat is certain if you battle him here, rather than your own time."

I nodded. "Sounds good. I don't want anyone getting hurt back in our time, anyway."

Impa chuckled. "Although the events in the past will still occur, the future will be safe from Ganon's evil rule."

Link smiled. "Thank you, Impa." He paused, running a hand through his blonde hair. "For everything."

Impa laughed softly. "You're very welcome, hero. Now do me a favor and protect the princess!"

Link nodded. "I will."

"Impa," I began, holding a hand over my heart, "will I ever see you in our time?"

There was no response.

I smiled nervously. "Impa?"

Still no response.

Agitha placed a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sure we'll see her again."

I looked at the floor. "I really hope so."

Suddenly, the floor began to shake. I fumbled over into Link's arms, where he held me as we fell to the ground. Midna and Agitha held each other, squealing as the quaking became worse.

"What's going on?!" Agitha cried.

I shook my head as Link wrapped his arm around my body. "I don't know!"

When the quaking finally stopped, we heard loud footsteps.

I gasped.

"Ganon."

okay. a few things.

1.) school has just ended for me today! im still in denial tbh. i miss my friends so much already :(
but, this means i will be updating a lot more (hopefully)!

2.) as of right now i am working on two new fanfics, both ZeLink. I have been working on them so much more than this story, to be honest with you. I am not giving up on this story though! I can assure you all it will be complete in less than twenty days, at the most :)

3.) however!!!!!!!!
i am also starting therapy soon (cri cri) so i will be busy, along with sports and some trips i will be taking over the summer :))

4.) Really quick, do you guys mind me asking for your opinion?
pick a number, 1-10. Evens will be one fanfic i am working on, and odd will be the other. then that will be the decider on which one i will post first.

I'm actually dying bc I actually want to start posting one of them now but idk if I can keep up with two lmao what do you guys think? It would be much appreciated!!! <3
