Chapter Thirty
Link's POV
"Link...! Link...! Why, Link? Why would you let this happen?"
I gasped, sitting upright in the bed I laid on. I slowly placed a hand on my forehead, feeling the beads of sweat drip down my cheeks. I pushed the black blankets off of my overheated body. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, still holding my head in my hands.
Where am I? I thought to myself, trying to gather any recollection of what had happened in the last twenty four hours. Right. Ilia's house. How did I even get here, again?
The door to the room opened, and in walked Ilia. She wore a pink skirt and a blue top, showing a bit of her stomach. She smiled happily. "Oh, Link! I'm so glad you're finally awake!"
I nodded, averting her gaze and looking out the window on the other side of the room.
That voice... Who was calling out to me before?
"Are you alright?"
I looked back over at Ilia. She looked worried.
I smiled. "I just... Feel like I'm forgetting something, or I'm supposed to be somewhere right now..."
Ilia's eyebrows rose. "So, you're not okay?"
I shook my head slowly. "If you don't mind...? I'd like to be left alone right now... Just for a little bit..."
Ilia nodded quickly, running out of the room. I watched her as she left, leaving behind a sweet scent. I sighed heavily, clutching the blanket beside me. I ruffled my messy hair, closing my eyes, trying to remember what was going on.
I fell back down onto my pillow, looking up at the ceiling. I stared at the small dents in the white, choppy ceiling, creating little pictures in my head. There was suddenly one picture; connecting the dots, I found this certain one to be quite different than anything else I had seen.
It looked to be a girl in a long dress. She wore brown boots that rose up to her shins. White gloves wrapped her forearms and hands. She was skinny, and looked frail. She didn't look weak, however; no, she looked strong.
My eyes began to shut slowly.
No, I can't fall asleep. I have to remember... I tried to forced my eyes back open, but they just continued to close.
No... Please, no... I have to remember...
I opened my eyes before shutting them for the last time.
Remember...
Remember what?

I could hear a voice. A soft, calming voice, like a mother's voice - reassuring, gentle, and full of love. I felt like the voice was calling out to me in some way. I opened my eyes, looking up at the white ceiling. I still laid on Ilia's bed.
I pulled the blanket off of my body, realizing I wasn't wearing a shirt. My face became warm. Had Ilia found me like this? I shook my head. Not that I cared. Ilia can fawn over me all she wants. There's someone else I love.
Someone else... But who?! I pulled a bit at my blonde hair, trying to remember the girl's name. I was somewhere with someone that I cared about, and then...
Instantaneously, a golden glow began to emit from the plain, chalky ceiling. I shielded my eyes from the bright light, squinting them in order to see what was going on.
My heart suddenly felt at ease, as if the presence of this light was healing me. I looked back up at the light, watching as the figure of a girl became visible. She wore a white dress, and she had long brunette hair. I couldn't make out her facial features, however.
She felt strangely familiar.
The girl held out her arms, floating down towards me. I finally made out her lips, which curled into a kind smile.
My eyes widened as she disappeared, and I remembered her name.
"Zelda...!"
I jumped off of the bed, almost slapping myself because of my stupidity. How could I have forgotten her?! How do I get back to her?
Oh god, she's probably trembling right now... I thought to myself, my heart beat speeding up with each image of that girl I cared about so much soaring in my mind. I need to get so her as soon as I can...
I stopped.
G.
G has her.
"That bastard!" I slammed my fist down on a nearby desk. I laid my head on the desk, trying to remember everything. That's right... He sent me back here, and kept Zelda with him...
Only one thought crossed my mind:
I'll kill him.
"Are you alright in there, Link?" I heard Ilia knock from behind the door.
I mentally scolded myself for causing a ruckus. "I'm fine, but I'll be leaving."
I could hear Ilia begin to whine. "Aw, but what if you haven't healed completely? I did find you on the side of the road, after all."
Man, G must have knocked me out real good, huh, I thought, smirking. Guess I'll just have to knock him out two times worse. No, wait - make it three times worse, for hurting Zelda.
I smiled, throwing my hands outwards. I closed my eyes, and when I reopened them, I was in my Hero's Tunic. I turned towards the door, cupping my hands on the sides of my mouth. "Don't worry about me. I'll see you later.
"Wait, Link-" Ilia began.
I didn't hear anything else she had said, for I had jumped out of her window and off of her balcony.
________________
I had no idea where to start. Go to Zelda's place? Maybe I could find something there. All I could do, was to keep running and not look back.
My mind was full of images of her. All I could think about was her. I smiled, remembering the time I had left the school building, watching as she and Agitha sat on a bench eating ice cream. Ice cream dribbled onto her nose, and she had laughed so adorably. Gosh, how had I never noticed how amazing she was? Her mesmerizing purple eyes, gorgeous brunette hair...
Okay, I need to stop and focus on saving her, I rolled my eyes at myself. Save Zelda; that's my number one mission right now.
Without thinking, I burst in through Zelda's front door, silently laughing that she left her door unlocked. Just being in her home made me feel at ease, like she was with me.
I grunted. Stay focused!
"Okay... My magic isn't as strong as hers... Meaning she would have to find a way to bring me to her, or her to me..." I spoke aloud.
I felt a pit in my stomach when I heard the front door squeak open.
I smiled sadly, running over to her.
"Agitha!" I yelled. Agitha looked at me strangely. She was holding her left side, limping on her feet.
"H-Help me..." she groaned, holding out her hand.
I quickly slung her arm over my shoulders, pulling her inside. I sat her down on the couch, watching as she removed her hand from her side.
Blood began to spill out from her left side.
"What happened to you?!" I gasped, jumping up from the couch and over to the kitchen. I quickly picked up some bandages and alcohol. I sat back down beside her. "I thought... I thought G killed you!"
"G..." Agitha grunted, taking the alcohol from my hands. She poured a bit into her palm, gently soaking her right hand. She placed her hand on her side, wincing in pain. She clenched her teeth together, looking at the ceiling. "He knew I saved Zel... He didn't want me to save her, so he tried killing me... He had a knife in his hand, slashed at my stomach... I tried playing dead..."
"So... You know... Everything?" I asked. "Everything. You remember your past?"
Agitha nodded, smiling stupidly. "Yes, idiot. I know."
I laughed. "You must be pretty strong to survive a blow like that." I pointed down to her wound. "That looks awfully painful."
Agitha rolled her eyes. "Spare me. Plus, G can't get rid of me that easily." Agitha smiled wide, bandaging up the gaping, bloody hole on her side. "I could see him coming from a mile away!"
I laughed again. Then, my smile slowly turned to a frown. "G kidnapped Zelda. He has her as a hostage... He'll kill her without hesitation, I know it."
Agitha shook her head, struggling to stand. "Well, we can't just sit around and wait here... Right?"
I stood up beside Agitha. "Oh, no you don't. You're staying here." I gently pushed Agitha onto the couch, and she gasped, standing back up.
"I think not!" She yelled at me, pointing a finger in my face. "She is my best friend, and I will do anything to save her!"
I shook my head. "Zelda would want you to be safe."
Agitha raised an eyebrow. "So, you think that just because you're the hero, you get to do everything by yourself?"
I began to walk away from Agitha, shrugging my shoulders. "I'm just saying that Zelda-"
"That's what Zelda would have wanted, huh?" Agitha folded her arms.
I turned around and stared at her. Her brown eyes were furious.
Agitha stepped forward. "Don't tell me that's what Zelda would have wanted." She stared daggers into my own eyes. "Because it's not."
I rolled my eyes, turning back around. "You're seriously injured."
Agitha threw her hands out to her sides. "Wha-? You know just as well as I do, that I can be a huge help in rescuing Zelda!"
I spun around, facing Agitha. "I'm not going to let you die!"
Agitha stood still, her arms lowering down to her sides. Her hands turned to fists.
I held a hand to my head. "I can't let you die. Zelda was already a wreck when she thought you died..." I looked at the ceiling. "What if you really do die... And Zelda would have known that I could have saved you?"
Agitha smiled, walking over to my side. She punched my shoulder, then crossed her arms. "I won't die. I have to be there for her..." Agitha closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. "I'm her best friend, after all."
I nodded. "I get what you mean... But, yet, your injury-"
Agitha shook her head quickly. "I don't care. I'll be fine."
I smiled. "Well, I guess we should figure out a way to get to her, shouldn't we?"
Agitha nodded. "Let's get on it."

"This is pointless!" Agitha screamed, pulling on her hair and rolling all over the floor. "My bugs can't do anything that'll take us to ancient Hyrule! I don't wield that kind of magic!"
I sighed. "I don't possess strong magic like that, either..." I paused, holding my head in my hands. "I have no clue on what to do..."
Agitha ran over into the kitchen, pulling out a glass. She proceeded to scream as she poured ice and water into the glass. She groaned, walking over to the couch and plopping herself down. A bit of water splashed out of her glass and onto the orange top she was wearing. She screamed again.
"This sucks!" Agitha cried. "I want to see Zelda! I haven't told her my daily, "I love you, bestie," sentence yet."
I raised an eyebrow. "Uh, what?"
Agitha nodded. "Uh, yeah. I tell her I love and appreciate her." Agitha sipped some water from her glass. "Every day."
I was about to say something, when Agitha held out her hand.
"Zellie's had a rough childhood, and I need to make sure she knows I care about her." Agitha looked to the left of her. She sat in silence for a bit, before placing her almost-empty glass of water onto the coffee table. "I don't want her to be sad. Ever."
I smiled. "That's very kind."
Agitha balled her right hand into a fist. "People don't do it nearly enough... Not just to Zelda, but to their friends and family..."
Agitha's brown eyes flared with passion as she spoke.
"People just don't understand...!" Tears began to fill her eyes. "Zelda is the only one who keeps me in order... And I haven't seen her for days!"
I realized how much Zelda meant to Agitha at that moment. Zelda wasn't just her friend; she was family.
I silently folded my arms over my lap. I sat on the floor in front of the coffee table. "I understand what you mean."
Agitha stared at me. "I need to see her as soon as possible."
I ran my fingers through my unkept hair. "If only..."
Agitha rubbed her eyes. "If only, what?"
I was about to speak, when I heard a faint scream. I pushed a finger in my ear. "Uh, did you hear something?"
Agitha sniffed. "What?"
I stood up, running over to the front door. My hand hovered over the doorknob. Agitha ran up from behind me, nudging my arm.
"What is it?" She asked.
I threw open the front door, running out of it immediately.
It sounds like her... It has to be her...!
I ran out into the vacant street, looking all around for her.
Agitha stood on the front porch. "Link, you're insane."
Then, the screams returned.
Agitha gasped. "Link, watch out!"
I felt a quick crack in my back as I plummeted quickly to the concrete.
"Man, what a fall! I sure thought I was a goner. Oh, boy! My muscles sure are sore!"
A girl sat atop my back. I groaned. "There's... Someone under you!" I breathlessly stated.
The girl jumped off of my back. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry-" she began, when she gasped.
I smiled. "And how did you get here? I thought you were dead."
Midna smiled, tears lining her eyes. "I thought I was, too."
