A/N - Bit of a longer chapter, but the "main" kind of story begins here. Hope you enjoy!!

I made my way to the middle of town, where the coffee shop was. I was surprised to see that hardly anyone was walking the streets. Usually on Saturday's, the whole town was packed. I shrugged this off and continued walking. The sun was bright and the breeze was quite calming. I felt at ease. However, I was a bit thrown off by my appearance. I pulled out my regular pair of glasses from a small bag I brought, put the sunglasses in the bag, and put on my glasses.
Ah, much better, I thought, smiling to myself.
When I reached the coffee shop, I took a deep breath, opening the door and hearing a small bell chime. Sitting in the back of the room was Link, staring down at his phone. I guess he didn't even notice me walking in.
Nothing different there, huh.
To not come off as suspicious, I walked up to the counter and ordered a cappuccino. Without warning him, I sat right in front of Link. His head bounced up, completely unaware that I had been in the shop for a few minutes now. "Thank goodness you're finally here."
I sighed. "So, what's the big issue?" I took a sip of my coffee. "I was in the middle of taking a nap, I'll have you know."
Link chuckled. "I'm sorry for interrupting your nap."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, whatever."
Link leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about... Something that might come off as strange at first."
We sat in silence for a moment, and I shook my head. "Okay, so what is it?"
Link frowned. "Have you had any weird dreams in the past day?"
I leaned forward. "Weird dream...?" I turned my head and looked at the floor. "Now that you mention it..."
Link cracked his knuckles, all of his fingers at once.
I cringed, jumping backwards. It seemed like everyone in the shop was now staring at me. My face went red, and I made fists in my lap. I looked down.
Link laughed. "What, you don't like when people crack their fingers?"
I laid my elbow on the table, holding my head in my hand. "I don't even know why, though. I've always hated it, for some odd reason."
Link nodded. "I see."
I shook my head, snapping out of my daze. "Anyway, what about dreams?"
Link sighed. "Well, it's weird, because last night someone was talking to me..."
I gasped, quietly, though. "Me too!"
Link's eyes lit up. "Really?"
I nodded. "She sounded like a woman, and her voice sounded really familiar. However, it was during my nap today, not last night."
Link's head fell to the table. "Man..." he said angrily.
"What's wrong?" I asked. Wait, why do I even care? I thought. This is nuts. I should just leave.
Link lifted his head up off the table. "This is weird. Someone in my dream told me to meet with you, as soon as possible. I heard Agitha was taking you to some random place this morning, so I followed along, and I tried to talk to you. You both left before I could say anything."
"That's..." I closed my eyes for a second, remembering the sound of the woman's voice from my dream. "Someone told you to meet me?"
Link nodded. "I swear she was a woman."
I lifted a finger to my chin, puzzled. "This is so crazy... I don't understand..."
Link looked out the coffee shop's window. "Yeah, I don't get it either."
Out of no where, it began storming. Link quickly stood up and grabbed my hand, pulling me outside.
"H-Hey!" I said nervously, trying to pry my hand out of his. "What has gotten into you?"
Link looked back at me. "I have a feeling."
"Of? About? What?!"
Link shook his head, turning back around. "Just- Let's go," he sighed.
I groaned, following along. He opened the coffee shop's door, and we stood outside. The sky was a dark grey, and yet it wasn't raining. Suddenly, I felt sorrow and sadness deep within me.
"I have a weird feeling..." I said, holding my left hand to my chest.
Link nodded. "See?" He looked up at the sky. "But... Isn't it weird we both have a strange feeling...?"
I looked up at him, quite concerned about the situation we were in. "This... I'm..." I tried to spit out what I was trying to say, however my throat was paralyzed. I could not speak.
Link gasped when lightning struck, somewhere south of town. I looked back up at the sky, hoping I would get answers to the weird feelings that were making me question what was going on.
"This has to be just a regular thunderstorm... Right, Link?" I laughed nervously, letting go of his hand. Link looked down at me. "This is crazy. I feel... Sick. I'm sorry, but I'm going home."
I began walking down the sidewalk, across from an alleyway. "Zelda, wait!" Link called after me. I didn't care if he came chasing after me, I didn't care if I got hit by lightning, I didn't care.
I don't care.
"Zelda, please!" Link yelled.
Suddenly, there were tears in my eyes. Why? I had no idea. I turned around and faced Link. He looked so desperate for answers, desperate for help. "I can't help you!" I called back. I smiled, letting the tears fall off my face. "Don't you see? I'm not special! I'm just the school loser that no one cares about..."
"Don't say that..." Link said sadly, walking closer to me.
I laughed nervously. "I'm sorry I couldn't help you."
"But you have helped me!"
I turned back around, walking ahead of me. To the left, there was an alleyway, darker than normal due to the storm. I saw a slight glimmer- something that drew my attention to it. I began walking in that direction, when I gasped, feeling something tug at my leg.
"Zelda?" Link yelled. "What are you doing?"
I could hear his footsteps coming closer. I looked down at my foot, and there, right before my eyes, was a shadow, gripping my ankle. I screamed as it pulled me to the ground, yanking me into the dark depths of the alley.
"Zelda!" Link yelled, and I heard him running to the alley.
I gripped the edge of a banister, holding on for dear life. I grunted as the shadowy figure began pulling harder. I screamed again, feeling like my leg was going to be ripped off at that very moment. Out of nowhere, Link hit the shadow with a crowbar, and despite being a shadow, it screeched and let go of my ankle.
"Where did you get that?" I asked him, out of breath. I gripped my ankle, wincing in pain.
Link shrugged his shoulders. "It was next to that trash can over there," he said plainly. He kneeled down beside me and lifted my hand off of my ankle, and began examining it. "What the heck was that thing?"
I shook my head in awe. "How am I supposed to know?"
Link nodded. "You've got a point." He touched my ankle, and I winced again. "Sorry," he apologized, backing away.
I shook my head once more. "It's alright, it just-" I gasped for air as my ankle started stinging like crazy.
Link moved back beside me. "Zelda? What's going on?"
I seemed to be hyperventilating. My breathing was hot and heavy, and my mind was spinning. I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest.
Link grabbed my hand. "Zelda! Talk to me!"
I looked up at him with worried eyes. "It hurts!" I gasped.
We both looked down at my ankle. It was dark purple and blue, making it look almost black. It was swelled up, and I didn't want to touch it. Pain shot up my leg, and I cried out.
Link held my hand. "It'll be okay, I'll get you to the hospital."
My eyes widened. "No, no, please!" I begged. "I can't go there, I can't!" Link lifted up my left arm and wrapped it around his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around my back and under my legs, picking me up off the ground. I hit his chest over and over. "Put me down! I can't go to the hospital!"
Link seemed unaffected. "Look, I don't care if you want to go or not. You need to, and that's that!"
I stopped hitting him. I looked back down at my foot, still bloodied and bruised. I looked back up at the sky, just as it started to rain. Then, my heartbeat sped up.
"Link, put me down."
"No, I already told you-"
"Please."
Link looked down at my sincerely, and I looked back into his electric blue eyes. "Why won't you let me help you?" He asked. "I don't hate you."
"What do you mean?" My bun fell out, and my hair fell all over my chest.
"When you texted me earlier," Link began, "that text you meant to send to Agitha? You said that I hated you. Well, that's not the case. I just never knew you."
I looked down at the ground. "And why are you bringing that up?"
"I want to help you!" Link said, walking out of the alley. "I don't hate you, Zelda! I just want to help!"
"Well I hate you!" My heart froze after I said that. My hands began shaking, and I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack. How could I have said that, straight to his face, when all he wanted to do was help me?
Link smiled at me. "That's alright. A lot of people do."
My eyes became watery again, and I felt my ankle worsen. "No one hates you, except for me!" Was I making this worse? I thought to myself. I should just shut up while I have the chance!
"No," Link said, "actually, more people hate me than you think."
I hit his chest, finally beginning to cry again. "Liar!" My sobs resounded throughout the area. "Everyone loves you!"
Link still smiled, regardless of what I said. "Maybe it's because some people think I'm popular, and they envy that. I honestly don't know."
I looked back up at him. Where were we going with this? This is pointless, I decided.
A flash of yellow emitted from the dark grey clouds above. Link and I both looked up at the sky, completely dumbfounded.
"Link," I said calmly. "Put me down."
Link nodded, staring into my eyes. The strange phenomena occurring gave me the strength to try and stand. He held my left hand with his, still wrapped around his shoulder. I stood on my left foot, while holding my right one in the air.
"That flash..." Link said quietly. "It wasn't lightning."
I stared at the sky. "It wasn't yellow, like lightning..." I looked back up at Link. "It was gold."
Suddenly, a streak of red was seen in the clouds.
"Din..."
Link looked down at me. "That's... Exactly what I was thinking."
"I don't know what that means, though..." I questioned what I had just said. Din?
Next was a streak of green. "Farore..." Link mumbled. "I feel as if I heard that name before."
I closed my eyes, and squeezed Link's hand. When I opened them...
...the clouds were gone, and the sky was a bright orange and pink, signaling the afternoon.
"W-What?" I asked, astonished. "The clouds just... Vanished?!"
Link stared at the sky, then pointed upwards. "Look!"
A streak of blue danced in the sky before quickly moving onwards, disappearing from sight.
"Nayru..." Link and I both whispered. We looked up at each other, and Link smiled. I couldn't help but smile back.
"I don't know what this means..." I said, looking at the sidewalk, "but we've got to figure this out."
Link nodded. "Yeah, definitely."
Link began to help me walk down the sidewalk and to my house, when both of my knees gave out. I gasped, and Link tried to catch me. However, I was afraid enough that I stuck my right leg out and back onto the ground.
"Zelda, your ankle!" Link said, looking down at it.
It didn't hurt.
My ankle felt warm, and there was nothing on it. The bruises had healed, like they were never there to begin with. I looked up at Link. "How...?"
Link chuckled. "I'm so confused. We better go home and get some rest, lest we go mad."
"This is all insane," I murmured, stomping my foot down on the pavement a couple of times. "Why doesn't it hurt? Did any of that just happen?"
Link shrugged his shoulders. "It felt so real, it must've happened."
I nodded. "I guess so..."
Link and I talked as he walked me back to my house. We were still confused as to what had happened that night, but we knew for sure, our lives would never be the same as they were before.
