Veer wasn't there when Bani wakes up next morning. Stretching her hand on the empty side of the bed she tries to get a hold in the void before she runs to the washroom just as usual. A resigned sigh escapes from her as she looks into the mirror wetting her face. Bani sits up shaking away the heavy feeling and rubs her face thinking she has a lot to do today.

It's almost noon by the time she gets everything ready in the other side. Now she has to wait for Mr Singhania to get her out of the house. Almost an hour later her phone rings. She looks up at it and frowns. It's an unknown number.

Bani picks it up and immediately hears Mayurika's frantic voice, "Hello! Bani, Veeranshu had an accident. He's in hospital!"

Bani feels her everything coming to a screeching halt at once. "What?" She barely whispers.

"They said there had been some explosion in one of our godowns and Veer was there." Mayurika fumbles through her tears, "I don't know much. You need to be in the hospital. They said the doctor needs your sign to start his operation."

"I'm coming!" Bani breaths out before putting the phone off.

She immediately runs out of the house and gets stopped by the guards, "You're not to leave the house without sir's order, mam." Says one of them.

Bani stares at them wide eyed and urges, "I'm going to your boss. He's in hospital. Take out a car for me."

"Sorry mam." The guard replies, "We've been strictly instructed to not let go anywhere under any circumstances today, until Sir says otherwise. Please go back inside. We'll contact to sir."

Bani feels the surge of anger that courses through her. She glares at him thundering, "Are you even hearing yourself? I said my husband is in danger! He's in hospital and you're here shitting me about your fucking instructions? Get the fucking car out before I actually do something that you all are gonna regret!"

The guards stand there unmoved. Bani reaches for the gun tucked in the back under her shirt. She was all ready for the mission. And right now she really doesn't have time to think about playing safe. If these assholes don't let go right away she's gone them all just here.

Just then she hears the loud horn of another car. Bani looks away to see the watchman open the gate for it and then Mayurika is coming out of the car. Bani lets out the breath she was holding.

Mayurika comes running to her and says hurriedly, "Let's go! We're getting late!"

When one of the guards comes forward to stop them Mayurika glares at him snapping, "What? Can't you see who she's going with?"

Bani doesn't have time to comprehend what's happening around anymore and gets inside the car as soon as she can. The car starts moving as soon as mayurika is inside. Her movement restless with worry.

"Do you know... what happened?" Bani asks. Her voice barely above whisper.

Mayurika shakes her head, "I don't know much. He was supposed to go for a cargo visit this morning. But then..." Her lips wobbles, "uncle called saying there has been an explosion in the site. And Veer is severely injured. They have taken him to the hospital. I wanted to go to the hospital but uncle asked me to get you first. Said the bond needs to be signed by you since..."

Mayurika's face distorts as she continues after a pause, "Since you're his legal family."

But Bani isn't hearing anymore. Her mind catches the word and sudden realisation hits her. Of course it's Balwant Singhania who sent her. She has been a stupid to not catch up on it. If Veer was really injured why would they call her? Veer's father is the direct family member. And knowing Balwant Singhania he isn't so cordial with Bani that he'll call Bani to hospital out of compassion.

But it's already too late. Bani looks at Mayurika. Judging by her crying state it doesn't seem like she's acting. But Bani knows better not to take someone by appearance. So either she's a terrific liar or she indeed doesn't know about Balwant Singhania's scheme. If she isn't with Mr Singhania, then why did he include her?

She looks over at the driver, "Which hospital are we going?"

The driver looks at them in the rearview, "The one at the city side mam."

Bani grits her jaw. That is where the operation will be on. And Bani knows there's no hospital there. They stop in front of a ferry ship after almost two hours of drive. Mayurika stares at the ferry anchored by the shore and frowns, "This is a hospital?"

The driver doesn't reply while a few men comes out from the building. One of them speaks, "We can't take boss to the local one. Come with us."

Bani looks carefully at the surrounding. Her men are here somewhere. They must have seen her. Must be waiting for her signal. Bani watches mayurika hesitate in her pace. But she doesn't relent. Instead Bani starts walking ahead of them fervently leaving them behind. She takes in the number of rooms and the interior as much as she can. At one point she's running.

Bani doesn't stop when she hears few of the footsteps rushing behind her. Neither she doesn't stop when the footsteps behind her completely ebbs. She keeps running until she finds one of the cabin doors open. Bani stops right there outside the room. Dreads heaves on her feet when she realises that Veer could also be there waiting for Bani with her cover blown.

Inhaling a deep breath Bani marches inside the room and halts when she sees Balwant Singhania. It's a big store room where the light source is only a dimly lit bulb. Balwant is sitting on a chair right in the center with his one leg over the other. There's a gun in his hand. Bani watches him giving her a crude smile glaring at her, "And here comes my dearest daughter-in-law."

Bani grits her teeth. She looks around the cabin. There are plenty of weapons stacked in the room. This is probably their arsenal. If it is, then there are probably more men guarding this room from outside. For now Bani is trapped here with Balwant; which shouldn't be for long as she needs to finish this operation before Veer gets here.

Bani smirks scoffing, "Good that you've finally accepted me as you dear daughter-in-law. Cause guess what, you and your son both are stuck with me for the rest of your lives."

Balwant Singhania snorts grimly, "Is that so?" His eyes harden as he clenches his jaw staring at Bani, "You think my son will stick with you after knowing that you have been after his underworld ass since the beginning? Officer Bani Sharma?"
