Gabby punches her pillow.

JOIE
Just go on a date with someone then sabihin mo kailangan mo ng plus one.

GABBY
At sa'n naman ako hahanap ng lalaki?!

JOIE
I bet you'd find one just outside of this place.

Joie spins her index finger as she leaned her back on Gabby's head board.

ELLIE
That. . . doesn't sound nice.

Nakapuwesto ang isa pa niyang kaibigan sa desk dahil may tinatapos pa itong readings.

GABBY
Para naman akong naghahanap ng maaano.

Joie's lips twitches.

JOIE
Why not? Date mo na tapos ikakam—

Gabby pinches her friend's leg.

JOIE
Ouch, Gabriella!

GABBY
Seryoso kasing suggestion! I need your help. Ilista mo na mga pwede kong hilahin!

Joie sits straight.

JOIE
Wala akong listahan pero nasa isip ko lahat ng mga pwede. First, your ex ex. Si Ben. 'Di ba maayos naman kayo no'n?

GABBY

JOIE

JOIE

Sumimangot siya nang maalala kung pa'no niya tinanggihan ito noon.

GABBY

Ellie laughs behind the screen of her laptop.

ELLIE
But you said they weren't bad before!

GABBY
Ay, before 'yon. Ayoko na!

Joie shushes them.

JOIE
Si Renz? Uy, nakita ko 'to nung nakaraan sa timeline ko. Nagre-race.

GABBY
Ew, amoy Zonrox sasakyan niya. Never again.

This time, it was Joie's turn to laugh.

JOIE

GABBY
E, nakakasulasok naman yung amoy ng sasakyan! Halatang may kinita bago ako. Ew.

JOIE

GABBY

ELLIE
Oh, my God.

GABBY
Huy, totoo! Nawala lippie ko after ng date namin tapos naiwan ko saglit bag ko sa table. Nako, sinasabi ko sa inyo! Magna yun.

Ellie shakes her head.

JOIE
E, 'di ka makakapili niyan. Wala na akong bala, sis. Ang wala na lang dito sa listahan ay si Kuy—

Joie wasn't able to finish her sentence dahil saktong tumunog ang phone nito.

She peeps on her phone. Then, she smiles.

JOIE
—si Kuya Io.

Like a lightbulb was switched inside her head, Joie stands up.

JOIE
Okay, I found your plus one!

Gabby's jaw fell. Bumaling siya kay Ellie, nanghihingi ng tulong.

Ellie held her hands up.

GABBY
Oh, no! No, no, no. Joie, no!

JOIE
Yes, yes, yes. The best candidate!

ELLIE
I mean, he wouldn't be that bad, Gabby.

GABBY
Except he will! Lahat ng tao sa bahay at pati si Mamay, inaasar ako sa kanya! Just because nagkasal-kasalan kami nung mga bata pa kami.

Joie erupted with giggles, clearly recalling that moment in her life.

GABBY
It's not funny! We were 9! Hindi naman 'yon seryoso!

ELLIE
But you did agree to marry him. You even had a white, sheer veil! And you guys kis—

GABBY
Ellie!

JOIE
Too late, though. Paakyat na si Kuya. Sabi ko may sasabihin ka.

Gabby pulls her friend's shirt pero mabilis itong nakawala at tumakbo papunta sa pinto ng unit niya.

Joie opens the door.

Gabby's eyes immediately flew to the guy standing outside her door.

JOIE
Kuya, may favor ako.

Io narrows his eyes at his sister, then lumagpas ang tingin nito sa kapatid at patungo sa kanya.

Gabby raises her hand and waves a little.

Oh, boy.
