"Hey, keep your mouth shut before drool comes out, Park."

**

A month later.

Your nurse had told you good news: you were able to continue anything that involved physical activity, so you were able to continue tasks that were set from your boss. Although you had convinced Jimin that you were fine before your checkup, he had insisted he'd go solo if needed to. And luckily, the gala, party thing he had mentioned weeks ago was very soon.

"Stop smiling, would you?" Jimin nudged your shoulder as you looked up at him before putting your seatbelt on.

"Oh shut up," You smiled, "I'm just happy I can get back to work again."

"Did you not tell anyone you got shot at uni?" He asked. You shook your head, "Are you silly?"

Jimin chuckled, starting the car. "Ramen?" He suggested. You nodded. "Ramen."

Jimin insisted on paying the bill, like always. You decided to give him half, so he ended up letting you off. You both ate the ramen in silence, not really talking about anything.

"You telling Jungkook about the news?" Jimin asked.

"I uh-" You look at the bowl of ramen, "I don't talk to him anymore."

"After that meeting?" He frowned. "Y-you know that.."

"He likes me. I figured," You sigh, "I mean.. He must be serious about telling me to stay away from him."

Jimin hums, "Okay."

"Why did you ask?"

Jimin's eyes were on you, "Nothing. Just continue not talking to him.. It's safer."

You nodded.

-

It had surprised you to find out that two weeks had gone by very quickly, your boss hasn't really set you any tasks, so not really killing people nor stealing yet. He decided to wait until today, where you and Jimin were going to find a man with a briefcase and get it. But he had a warning that people would find you.

"Hey Y/N, you ready yet?" Jimin knocked on your door. You tell him to open the door and he finds you straightening the last piece of your hair.

"I'm done now," You smile up at him. He continues to stare at you and you chuckle, "Hey, keep your mouth shut before drool comes out, Park."

Jimin blushes and clears his throat, "Whoops, I'm sorry."

"You cleaned up pretty nice." You comment, as he fixed the tie on his black suit. You walk over and tuck a little piece in. He mutters a small thank you, "You look stunning, Y/N."

You grin up at him. "Thanks." You decided to pick out a black lace dress with gold heels and gold earrings. Jimin had also opted for a black outfit, and he couldn't help but say you two were matching.

"This suit is a waste, though." Jimin sighed as he put his phone in his pocket, starting the car engine.

"Why?" You chuckled, "That could probably last you some other time we go to some public event."

"It's probably all gonna get bloody by the end of tonight." You mutter an 'Oh, right' and Jimin looks at you.

"Stay by my side all night, got it?" Jimin said.

"Okay, boss." You rolled your eyes. "And Y/N?"

"Yeah?" You looked at him, "No drinking." You frown at him and ruffle his now-messy hair.

-

"Holy shit," You mutter, "How are we going to catch the person with the briefcase?" You take a peek from the inside of the venue, amazed to see dazzling, gold chandeliers hanging from the top, and already a lot of people were inside.

"Names?" The security guard asks you.

"Mr. and Mrs. Min. She's my wife, I booked her under my name." Jimin explains to the security guard who scans down the list to find your name. he unhooks the rope from the other side and lets you both in. He also had explained to you that using a different last name could be easier.

"Drinks, ma'am?" The waiter asks, holding glasses of champagne.

"No thanks." Jimin shoos the waiter away and he nods, walking away. You look up at him, "He said ma'am."

"I told you no drinking, princess." Jimin sighs. You continue to hold onto his arm. "God, it's going to be so obvious to shoot someone right here."

"Hey, briefcase guy." You whispered and he looked to your direction. "Casinos."

You excused yourself to the people who were walking in other directions to you and Jimin and walked over to the casinos. You saw the person set the briefcase underneath a table where he began to play poker.

Jimin whistled next to you, standing as he watched you sit down and place cash into the slot machines.

"Ah shit," You mumble, "Almost there."

"What's even in that briefcase?" Jimin stared at the silver briefcase, lying on the floor. You shrug. "I'll go play some poker."

"I'll stay here," You say. Jimin nods, "I'm just there Y/N. I'll let you know if he's leaving, don't talk to anyone."

You nod before continuing to play on the slot machines.

A few minutes later, you couldn't help but get bored, and it was in time before Jimin turned around and motioned for you two to follow him.

"Is this really a good idea?" You whisper and Jimin nods, "Of course it is."

"I feel sick," You mumble. "I feel like that briefcase has something deadly."

"Doubt it." Jimin says, "Maybe money. Jewellery. I think there's a diamond in there though. They have one hidden in the basement sort of thing. And they're presenting it too."

"You did your research, didn't you?" You say as you followed the person up the stairs, "How thankful I am for not wearing a long ass dress."

"You're just holding onto me," Jimin laughed.

You and Jimin were both lead to an empty corridor. You both hid as you watched the person walk into the door and you heard it close. You assumed it was a secret room or the control room, as there was a room that controlled the chandeliers and the DJ's area.

"Let's go," Jimin held his gun down and you followed behind him. You opened the door before him, surprised as the person stared down at the briefcase. Jimin was right, they took the diamond that they were going to present in half an hour. You were thankful if you shot him right now, no one would see it. It was just an empty room, no windows, a table and a chair.

"Shut the briefcase, sir." You say loudly, your gun pointing at his back. "I really don't want to kill you right here right now."

The man surrenders.

"Please. Shut it." You said.

"Put the gun down, sweetheart." The voice said. Your eyebrows softened, but you refused to put the gun down.

"Don't you dare tell me what to do." You spat. "Close the briefcase and hand it here."

"Sweetheart, you really don't want to mess with me." The voice said, chucking the briefcase on the floor.

"Tell me who you are, then." The nickname sounded so familiar.

"You really want to know who I am, love?" The person says, taking a peek over his shoulder. "I-I.. I was the one who shot you."

"W-what?" You stared at him, your gun still pointing just below his shoulder. You watched the figure turn around, taking his mask off.

"J-Jungkook?" You suddenly began to tear up. There was no way he would have shot you. He may have killed people, but there was no way, no way he made the bullet go through you.

"I told you sweetheart." Jungkook said lowly. "That briefcase is yours, alright?"

You gulp, "Y-you.. You shot me?"

"I did." Jungkook felt guilty for lying. But he had to do it. "I did shoot you Y/N."

"No, you didn't." You feel tears rolling down your cheeks, your hands shaking, gun still aimed at him. "You're lying to me, Jungkook."

"It's the reality, sweetheart. I told you, you would never forgive me."

"I know you didn't, I know you didn't..." You whisper, choking on your tears. You pulled the trigger, and Jungkook dodged it. "Sweetheart-"

"I told you, don't fucking call me that!" You dropped the gun, your hands still shaking. Jungkook walked closer to you. "Don't you dare touch me. I know you didn't shoot me. You lied straight to my face at the coffee shop then, didn't you?"

"Y/N, please-"

Jimin. You needed Jimin. You felt like you were going to suffocate. It was so much pressure.

"Don't you dare talk to me ever again." You avoided his gaze and picked up your gun and the briefcase, "You absolute sick bastard. You lied to me. You're a liar, Jeon Jungkook. Don't you ever put up our past ever again to me and convince me. What happened at your place? Nothing. Nothing happened."

You aim your gun at me. "What are you going to do? Shoot me, Jungkook. And tell me you shot me."

"Y/N, stop-"

"Step away from her." A voice says from behind. You look behind you and see Jimin.

"Don't you dare come near me, Jungkook."

**

You and Jimin decided to leave the party, and luckily security didn't ask you about the briefcase. You felt like a wreck. Jimin stopped by a Chinese takeout store near his apartment before you reached his apartment and changed into comfy clothes.

It was completely silent, only a couple of words exchanged every so often. It hurt Jimin to see you like this, and as much he wanted to admit the truth, it never slipped out of his mouth.

You both ate the food in silent, watching the movie that you had put on while Jimin was changing.

"Y/N, are you alright?" Jimin asked as you sniffed.

"I'm fine. Please don't tell me you've been lying to me, too." You say, taking a sip of your water and rubbing your eyes.

"Princess, of course I haven't. I just didn't want you to find out a lot of things." You nodded. You felt slightly mad at Jimin, he could have told you instead of you finding out the hard, hurtful and the most betrayal way.

"I know you're mad at me," Jimin says, his eyes softening as you look at him with your puffy eyes, "I'm sorry you had to find out the hard way. Listen to me, alright? You've been so strong. Hell, you fought the biggest battle in your life. Don't let someone like Jungkook make you miserable. He's nothing."

You nod, "I just... I really don't know anymore. I-I'm sorry, I just feel like life's been difficult."

"Of course it has for you, Y/N," Jimin says, "Try not to think about it anymore, alright? I'll make some hot chocolate for you tonight and we can watch some sappy romance movie."

You give him a small smile, "Thank you, you really know me well."

-

Jungkook stood outside the building, since the inside didn't allow smoking. He lit a cigarette and handed the lighter to Hoseok.

"Rough night?" Hoseok asked.

"Yeah." Jungkook replies, removing the cigarette from his lips.

"What happened to you quitting?" Hoseok frowned at Jungkook.

"Y/N." Jungkook says, throwing his head back and groaning. "I told her I shot her."

"Did she believe you?" Hoseok questioned as Jungkook replies, "I.. She didn't. She just felt betrayed. She knew I didn't. I wouldn't blame her."

"Talk to her."

"The feeling isn't mutual. She had to find out the hard way, Hoseok." Jungkook sighed, "I-I really loved her, Hoseok. I really did love her. I know she won't talk to me. Or forgive me."

"You still have her number right?" Hoseok asks and Jungkook nods, looking at him. "Well, try to keep contact her. If she doesn't reply, then she really doesn't want to talk anymore."

Jungkook nods again. "Ask for soju, please. I really need it."

-

It's been a few hours. You've stayed in the living room, exchanging a few words to Jimin. Jimin decides that he needs to go clear his head for a while, and you accept it. You had to feel sorry for him, he's been with you and he doesn't seem to think of himself. There were so many times you just wanted to hug him and tell him you're sorry, tell him that he needs to take care of himself and make himself his priority.

You end up passing out on the couch, forgetting about your movie you were watching and cleaning up the mess from the takeout. You sigh when you look at the time, half-past one in the morning. You decide to clean up the mess quickly and rush back to your bedroom, to find Jimin peacefully sleeping, a beer bottle sitting on his nightstand. You smiled at him before closing your bedroom door, falling asleep.

"I-I.. I was the one who shot you." Jungkook said, turning around.

"I did shoot you Y/N."

"You're lying to me, Jungkook."

You were in pure shock. You were tearing up. You knew Jungkook did not shoot you. He may have shot others, but there was no way he could have made the bullet go through you.

"What are you going to do? Shoot me, Jungkook. And tell me you shot me."

"Y/N, stop-"

You shot up, rubbing your eyes and wiping the sweat off your forehead. You groan, knowing you really need to take your mind off what happened. But it still stuck with you, even if you seemed to have forgotten about it. It felt like a nightmare. 6:06AM, the clock read. You hear Jimin snoring soundly, so you decide not to disturb him.

"Hey Y/N, what's up?" Jimin sets his phone down on his nightstand as you sniffed. He moves a bit when you sit down before lying on his chest.

"I can't sleep," You sigh, "And... a nightmare, if it counts."

Jimin frowns, "Want to tell me what happened?"

"I'm disturbing sleep, and I really still go to you when I can't sleep..." You sigh, feeling like a child.

"Princess, don't say that," Jimin chuckled, "You know I love you and I'm always here for you."

You shake your head as you began to make coffee, before hearing steps across the hallway.

"Morning," You greet Jimin, "I.. You're up early, Chim."

"Yeah." Jimin mumbles, getting a glass of orange juice from the fridge.

"What time did you get back?" You asked, "I.. I kind of tried to wait for you. But I passed out on the couch. I'm sorry."

"It's fine." Jimin said, "I got back when you slept."

"Oh," You nod, "Are you okay?" You think he's uncomfortable with you all of a sudden. The replies are usually a lot more longer, and you watch him take medicine. Probably to cure his headache from the beer.

"Fine." Jimin responds shortly. "I have somewhere to go, so I don't know if I'll be around."

You nod, hiding your frown as best as you can. "Oh. I was going to ask boss if we had anything to do, it's been a while."

Jimin nods, staring outside the kitchen window.

"I.. I started to think about.. Jungkook again," You mutter, fiddling with your coffee mug. "I really can't-"

"Not everything is about you all the time, Y/N!" Jimin suddenly snaps. You could feel your hands beginning to shake up. There has never been a moment where Jimin snaps and yells at you. It was always other people, but not you.

"I-"

"God, I wish you could actually consider my feelings. I know you've had the hardest time, Y/N. Maybe it'll be nice if you ask about my life sometime." He says, rolling his eyes.

"You're right.." Why do all your thoughts seem to come true?  You ask yourself. "I'm sorry, I'm selfish. The hard life I'm living shouldn't be an excuse."

Slam!

-

Silence. No words were said. You could only hear phones going off, the keyboard from your laptop, and beer bottles being thrown and tapped against tables. It's been a few days, and you barely see Jimin. He's often out with his best friend, Taehyung, and sometimes Taehyung had to text you he's had a bit too much and is literally attached to a girl, which means that you have to help him to his room.

Oddly, Jimin said he was staying home, meanwhile you planned to go out by yourself. It was the very few words that you and Jimin had actually said to each other. You didn't want to deny you missed him- you really did.

"Hey you! Cutie wearing a denim jacket!" You hear a guy yell, and then chuckles afterwards. You gripped tightly to your bag and prayed. Not today, Lord.. Please.

One of them suddenly went up to you and you mentally sighed. "Let me get your number, cutie."

"I have a boyfriend." You squeaked, cringing at how high your voice was. Surely, they probably wouldn't believe you.

"Where is he, then?" The guy whispers and you shiver.

"I-"

"I'm right here." Another voice says from behind. You turn around and gulp. Great. He's here? Just the person I really did not want to run into.

Jungkook.

Many questions were running through your head.

"Leave her alone." Jungkook sternly says. "Come on babe, did they do anything?"

You shook your head, as the guy next to you widens his eyes, as his other friends shut up when they hear Jungkook, some of their mouths agape when they realise Jungkook could have shot them.

"I-I'm sor-"

"You better be damn sorry. Touch my girl again and you're dead." Jungkook looks at them.

"I'm so sorry sir," The guy mutters shyly as they all ran away. You sigh and loosen the grip on your purse. You began to walk away.

"I don't get a thank you?" Jungkook said, hinting playfulness in his voice. You turn to him and give him a small smile. He began to walk closer to you.

"Y/N.." Jungkook said, placing a piece of hair behind your ear.

"Don't." You said, "I.. It's not best if we continue seeing each other."

"I want to see you, Y/N. I love you." You pause, freezing on the spot.

"Jungkook-"

"I know I've been a terrible person. But sweetheart, I've been a wreck. What I did to you was wrong."

"Did you forget what you said to me weeks ago? You said you shot me, and.. I can never forget that." You said honestly, biting your lip.

"Y/N-"

"I already have enough trouble in my life, Jungkook. I don't want to.. live like this anymore. Constant heartbreak. My feelings at this point are numb. Look, I.. I appreciate you helping me, thank you. But.. This isn't right. You said weeks ago you shot me, and you tell me that you love me.. I-"

"I didn't shoot you. I promise."
