Chapter 45-Old family
In the next room, there was a doorway that led to the throne room and a long corridor leading somewhere else. Frisk led us through the corridor first. During the walk through the corridor, I decided to let go of Frisk's hand and they followed my gesture, reluctantly letting go as well. The corridor was followed by a flight of stairs in which led to a room full of coffins. Frisk walked up to the first one which was the only one we could actually get to. They all had hearts on them, each a different colour of the rainbow. The first one was red, the colour of determination. I semi-reluctantly followed Frisk to the coffin. It had my name engraved on it. I felt my eyes glaze over with tears and I placed a hand on the coffin. I dragged my hand over the surface over the coffin when Frisk placed a hand over my own. I stopped and looked at them then they gave me a sympathetic smile telling me
"everything will be alright." I wiped my eyes with my sleeve, getting rid of the tears that were there and we left to go to the throne room.
Standing in the middle of the throne room was King dad, watering his flowers that he always cared so much for.
"Dum dee dum... Oh? Is someone there? Just a moment! I have almost finished watering these flowers... Here we are!" Dad said after finishing watering the flowers and turned to look at Frisk and I.
"Howdy! How can I..." Dad said but stopped abruptly and stumbled back slightly when he noticed who he was talking to.
"Chara? Is that you?" He asked and I slowly nodded.
"I can't believe you are back! Haha, this is great!... But, I declared to all the monsters that any fallen human would be persecuted and we would finally be free..." With this comment, I instinctively stood slightly in front of Frisk in a protective manor.
"King dad, you don't have to do that anymore! Asriel may still be gone but, I'm back! I was once the hope of the underground. Things can be the same as they were! You don't have to kill anyone else! Please, this doesn't have to happen!" I explained to him.
King dad then gave me a sad look.
"Chara, I so wish I could just accept your proposition but, I have promised my people freedom and after such a long wait, I cannot take that away from them. I am sorry..."
"Dad, please. We have made friends here. This can be our happy ending. I know you don't want to kill anyone, you're too nice for that. I can read it on your face, you know I'm right. Please, please King dad, you can't take another human life. Not now." I tried to reason, subconsciously hoping he didn't notice Frisk.
"Chara? Is that another human standing behind you?" Dad asked and I froze.
Collecting myself, I slowly and reluctantly nodded.
"haven't you said before that you hated other humans? Surely this human's soul could be used and I would be able to spare your life." He tried to compromise but I could see in his eyes that he didn't want to hurt either of us.
We were just stuck in a standstill for a while until pellets surrounded King dad. They shot him down then more surrounded him to wound him more. King dad was hit at least twice more before he was gone with only his soul left in place. Flowey popped up from the ground and absorbed dad's soul, laughing his annoying laugh.
"It seems you forgot about me. Did you really think I wasn't gonna come and have some fun with my old PAL?" Flowey questioned, laughing once again.
"And, get this. I snatched all your other friends souls too. While you were here, trying to convince our sorry excuse of a dad to spare you both, I was off gaining all the power I rightfully deserve. Now you two get to see my true power. Oh! but wait! I think I'm forgetting something." He said, slowly gaining a devilish grin as the souls of the other dead humans raised for us to see.
My eyes widened, mouth gaped. This wasn't something I was used to and he did it so condescendingly. Frisk just looked at Flowey with a pained, worried look as he absorbed all the human souls, once again laughing at the situation at hand.
"Now, who should I play with first? Eenie, meenie, miney, you." Flowey taunted before landing a vine on me.
He then immediately stabbed a thorny vine into my chest and watched me fall to the ground in agony. I hit my head on the ground and before I died, I heard Flowey's high-pitched, evil laughter. As my vision started to fade, I saw Frisk rush up to me before hearing a slicing sound like a knife against skin then felt a warm liquid dripping on me. The world completely faded out and in an instance, I was back to just a few minutes earlier, no longer dying where I lied.
"Didja really think I would let you go that easy? Oh no, I'm going to keep you both here and kill you over and over! After all, we were best friends forever, weren't we Chara?" Flowey explained.
"I have no idea what you're talking about weed." I sneered at the flower.
"Don't you remember me Chara? It's me, your best friend..." Flowey started and a white light started to consume the area.
"ASRIEL DREEMURR." He finished and in front of me stood what looked to be my brother Asriel but older.
This couldn't be real...
