In the next room, there was a thin bridge. I gave a worried look as I looked down at the long drop. I grabbed Chara's hand and walked in front of them on the bridge. We got almost to the end of the bridge when a voice was heard. 

"Yo!" The voice shouted. 

I slowly turned around and carefully looked past Chara to see monster kid. He slowly walked up to us. 

"Yo, so I know I'm not supposed to be here, but... I wanna ask you guys something." He pauses and I nod slowly. "Man, I've never had to ask anyone this before... um... Yo... You guys are human, right? Haha." We both nod slightly. "Man! I knew it!" He exclaimed. "... well, I know it now, I mean. Undyne told me, um, 'Stay away from that human' So, like, ummm... I guess that makes us enemies or something. But I kinda stink at that, haha. Yo, say something mean so I can hate you? Please?" He asks. 

"We can't do that MK." I told him. 

"Yo, what? So I have to do it? Here goes nothing... Yo, I... I hate your guts... Man, I... I'm such a turd. I'm... I'm gonna go home now." And with that, he took a step back and turned around to run away. 

He got as far as three strides away before falling as usual but because the path was so narrow, he fell off and was now hanging by his teeth. 

"Yo, W-w-wait! Help! I tripped!" Sounded his muffled cries. 

Undyne came over to us all but we paid her no mind. Chara went over to the one side of monster kid and me on the other side. We both helped him up and he took a step towards Undyne. 

"Y... y... yo... dude... If y-you wanna hurt my friends... You're gonna have to go through me, first." And with that, Undyne took a few steps back before running away. "She's gone... Yo, you two really saved my skin. Guess being enemies was just a nice thought, haha. We'll just have to be friends instead... Man, I should REALLY go home... I bet my parents are worried sick about me!" Monster kid took a few then turned around. "Later, dudes!" He shouted then walked off. 

I waved back at him before taking Chara's hand again. We finally got across the bridge When I realized how tired I was. We hadn't taken a break since we entered Waterfall. I sat against a nearby wall. Chara soon came to join me. I scooched a bit closer and snuggled into their chest. I felt them gently rest their hand on my shoulder and place their head on mine. I slowly drifted off to sleep after that.

Chara's POV

Frisk had cuddled up into my chest so I put my head on theirs and fell asleep, not noticing how tired I was until I was already crossing the dream barrier.

(Chara's dream) ~ I stood in the middle of a room, something red splattered all over the walls. My hands were covered in the same substance. I walked around, confused. I made my way into a new room and found Frisk, curled up in a ball on the floor. I ran up to them. They were sleeping, right? I was wrong. They weren't breathing. I turned them over and saw what looked to be a stab wound in their stomach and the same red liquid as was on my hands. Blood. I whimper as I embrace them. *Did I do this?* I asked myself. This can't be real. I started to tremble. ~ 

The world faded to black and I found myself back in waterfall beside Frisk. I was still shaking slightly and I think it woke Frisk up. They were now sitting up, looking at me. They placed their hand on my neck and used their thumb to wipe the tears on my cheek that I hadn't realized had fallen. Their touch soothed me and I slowly stopped shaking. I gave them a hug then stood up. I gave Frisk a soft smile signifying I was fine and they stood up as well. I placed my hand in Frisk's and we continued on our journey.
