Chapter Six

It'd been three days since she'd left Halliwell Manor, and she'd been so relieved when she'd realized that she hadn't left anything that the sisters could use to scry for her. Well, nothing they'd found yet, anyways; she'd left a letter for Chris in the office of P3, where he sleeps, but either he hadn't read it, or he didn't care.

Either way, she was at peace with her current situation; her son sat on her lap, playing with the Gameboy that she'd bought him, while she flipped through a scrapbook that dated back to the day she was born, October 31st, 1875.

The 130 year old woman smiled to herself as her eyes landed on an image of herself and Noah's father, Reggie. "Hey," she nudged her son, causing Noah to look at the book with a smile, "there's daddy."

"I miss him." Noah sighed, placing the Gameboy onto the coffee table, and taking the book from his mother. He flipped a page, furrowing his brows, "Is that Uncle Cole?"

"Sure is." CJ smiled, "He would have loved you, Noah."

Suddenly, a blue light illuminated the living room, causing the two ravenettes to slam the scrapbook shut. CJ shot to her feet, handing Noah his Gameboy as she hoisted him further onto her hip; Leo appeared, looking around curiously, before turning to the witch. "CJ, I need you— Who's that?"

"I'm Noah!" The boy smiled, "Are you Mommy's friend?" He asked, tilting his head.

CJ sighed, kissing the boy's forehead, "Noah, this is Leo." She smiled as the little boy waved excitedly. "Go back to playing your game, honey. You and Leo can play when we're done talking, ok?"

"Ok!"

"What's going on?" She asked, her voice serious as she held onto Noah protectively. "Are the sisters alright?"

"Bianca took Chris back to the future." The blond sent her a worried look, "I need you to go, too."

She shook her head, "What? No. Send the sisters."

"I can't, sending them to the future will screw up our current reality," he sighed, "but, because you're half-demon, it won't."

"Leo, I can't just up and leave my son, again!" CJ exclaimed, and Noah looked at her with tears in his eyes, "It's been two years since I've gotten to hold him. Please, don't take me from him, again."

The blond whitelighter looked to the little boy, "Hey, buddy. Don't be sad, I'm not taking your mommy away from you, again." He smiled, causing Noah to reflect his expression, a hopeful glint in his eyes. "I have a son, too. His name's Wyatt. If it's ok with your mom, you two can play together while she's off saving someone."

"Is that what you do?" Noah asked, "Are you a superhero, Mommy?"

CJ chuckled, her eyes watering, "No, honey. I'm just nice," she looked to Leo with thankful eyes, "and so is Mr. Leo. He's a whitelighter."

"Did he know Daddy?!"

The woman gulped, slowly turning to face Leo once more. "Yeah, they were the bestest of friends."

...

"Leo?" The woman asked, causing the blond to turn toward her, Noah in his arms. "If anything happens to my son, I'll kill you."

"And I'll accept that fate." He nodded, "I'd do the same if it was the other way around."

CJ nodded, taking a deep breath as she waited for the man to leave the cottage. A portal materialized in front of her, and she'd never been thankful for that High Priestess until that moment; the woman stepped inside, appearing in a gloomy reality. San Francisco was in ruins, and she was beyond happy that she'd worn clothes that she could fight in. The woman flamed into the attic, her eyes landing on a curly haired blond, whose hair was down to his shoulders.

He spun to face her, widening his eyes as he recognized her. "Carina Cromwell." He greeted, "Well, seems that everyone had left out your appearance in the books. Oh, and your son? He's doing quite well."

She narrowed her eyes, "Wyatt Halliwell. Huh, never thought such a cute baby would turn into a Muppet wannabe." Her eyes drifted over his shoulder, "Chris!" She exclaimed, but the blond stepped between the two. "Get out of my way."

"Well, as much as I would love to vanquish the first female Source in magic history, I must tend to my little brother, first."

Her blood ran cold, and she froze; how did he know? She refused to tear her gaze from the kid that she babysat literally a week ago, fearful to see Chris' reaction. Then, a realization hit her: Chris is Wyatt's little brother? Oh, God. . . looks like they both have been keeping secrets from each other, and the sisters.

Chris stared at the woman with wide eyes, his brother's words sinking into his skull like the Titanic; the Source? His stomach churned at the reveal, jade green eyes watering as he stared at the woman that made him feel like he was home.

They were definitely going to have a talk if they got back.

Wyatt slung her across the attic, but she'd swiftly rolled onto her feet. "Is that seriously all you've got? Twice-blessed, right? What a joke."

"Don't you mock me!" The blond yelled, throwing her once more; she'd collided with a glass case, a shard piercing her side as it shattered. The woman stood to her feet, glaring at the witchlighter with pure fury in her eyes. He stepped forward, that single floorboard creaking.

She shifted into her demon form, her voice distorted as she spoke. "Damn, Chris." She began, looking into his green eyes, "I guess Leo never did fix that floorboard, huh? How annoying."

The brunette took the hint, charging at the blond, only to be thrown across the attic; CJ had caught him telekinetically, removing her hands from the glass that protruded from her side. Bianca charged at Wyatt, as well, sticking her hand into his torso and beginning to strip his powers, or at least delay them.

"Whatever you're thinking of doing, hurry up and do it! I can't hold him for long." She yelled, and the ravenette launched the floorboard up with her powers, allowing Chris to dive toward it and pull out a paper. They were so lucky that the sisters had finally gotten the hint.

"Power of witches rise, come to me from across the skies. return my magic, give me back all that was taken from the attack."

His body swirled in a blue light, and his powers had returned, just as Wyatt kicked Bianca off. She flew across the room, landing on a broken table leg, one that pierced straight through her torso; CJ fell to the ground, a demon appearing right before her as Chris fought off the blond.

She'd recognize those amber eyes anywhere.

"Mom?"

"Noah. . ." She smiled, "Please, don't turn out this way."

And then everything went black.
