Danny's Diary
Jessie POV
"Danny...?" i stared in disbelief. This flat was a tip. I looked at Danny who looked very sheepish. Dosens of empty bear cans were scattered on the sofa and table. A knife was sticking in the wall, but what got me was on the floor slightly underneath the sofa was a syringe. Carefully i picked it up "Danny, please don't tell me you used this."i pleaded
"it was the only thing that took the pain away." whispered Danny solemnly.
"Go pack some stuff." i sighed deeply. Using the crutches he limped over to his room. I put the beer cans in the bin and sat on the sofa waitin for Danny. I felt something digging into my thigh, it was a notepad. I picked it up and looked at it: Danny's Diary. I opened the first page and it was the first entry.
3rd February
Dear Diary,
I had an awful day at College. I've just moved from Belfast to London and everyone in this school hates me. Even the teachers.
The next became hard to read
They pick on me because i'm new, tall, i love music and i've 'got a funny accent.' Johnny called me scum, so i punched him however he punched me back. We got into a fight and i ended up worse. The head, aster gave me an after school detention. Mam and Da are really angry with me and i've let them down.
5th February
I've made my first 2 friends, Mark and Glen. They are the best friends ever, well considering they are the only friends i've had. Mark can sing and play the guitar and Glen can totally ace the drums, they're Irish as well! College doesn't seem so bad now although the bullying does continue.
14th February
Da i miss you. Please come back i just need you to talk to me once again. Mam is really depressed and so am i. The ink had splattered on the page from tears. I flicked through the page and stopped at a page that was covered in blood. There was a message that wasn't written by someone else.
This is what happens to people like you.
I gasped. Danny's had a more violent past than i imagined. At the back there was a page of songs
'If you could see me now'
It was february fourteen valentines day
the roses came but they took you away
Tattoed on my arm is a charm to disarm all the harm
gotta keep myself calm
but the truth is you're gone
and i'm never going to show you these songs
dad you should see the tours that i'm on
i see you standing there next to mum
always singing along yeah, arm in arm
and there are days when i'm loosing my faith
the man wasn't good he was great
he'd say music is the home of your pain
and explain, i was young, he'd say
Take that rage put on a page take the page to the stage blow the roof off the place
I'm try na make your proud
i hope you're up there with God
saying that's my kid.
I still look for your face in the crowd
Oh if you could see me now
would you stand in disgrace
or take a bow oh if you could see me now
"Six Degrees Of Separation"
You've read the books,
You've watched the shows,
What's the best way no one knows, yeah,
Meditate, get hypnotized.
Anything to take from your mind.
But it won't go, ohhhh ohhh
You're doing all these things out of desperation,
Ohhh ohhh,
You're going through six degrees of separation.
You hit the drink, you take a toke
Watch the past go up in smoke, yeah
Fake a smile, yeah, lie and say that,
You're better now than ever, and your life's okay
When it's not. No.
You're doing all these things out of desperation,
Ohhh ohhh,
You're going through six degrees of separation.
First, you think the worst is a broken heart
What's gonna kill you is the second part
And the third, Is when your world splits down the middle
And fourth, you're gonna think that you fixed yourself
Fifth, you see them out with someone else
And the sixth, is when you admit that you may have f*cked up a little
(Oh no there ain't no help, it's every man for himself)
(No no there ain't no help, it's every man for himself)
You tell your friends, yeah, strangers too,
Anyone who'll throw an arm around you, yeah
Tarot cards
Gems and stones,
Believing all that s**t is gonna heal your soul.
Well it's not, no, wohhhh
You're only doing things out of desperation,
Ohhh no,
You're goin' through six degrees of separation.
First, you think the worst is a broken heart
What's gonna kill you is the second part
And the third, Is when your world splits down the middle
And fourth, you're gonna think that you fixed yourself
Fifth you see them out with someone else
And the sixth, when you admit you may of f*cked up a little.
No there's no starting over,
Without finding closure, you'd take them back,
No hesitation,
That's when you know you've reached the sixth degree of separation
Oh, no there's no starting over,
Without finding closure, you'd take them back,
No hesitation,
That's when you know you've reached the sixth degree of separation
First, you think the worst is a broken heart
What's gonna kill you is the second part
And the third, Is when your world splits down the middle
And fourth, you're gonna think that you fixed yourself
Fifth, you see them out with someone else
And the sixth, is when you admit that you may have f*cked up a little
No, no, there ain't no help
It's every man for himself
You're goin' through six degrees of separation
No, no, there ain't no help
It's every man for himself
You're goin' through six degrees of separation
No, no, there ain't no help
It's every man for himself
Poor poor Danny. Speak of the devil Danny appeared through the door. He had a nike bag on his back. "Do you want to take this?" i asked
"Yes. You didn't look through it? It's private." interrogated Danny
"No." i lied through my teeth
"Shall we go?" said Danny
"Yeah c'mon." i urged.
Danny POV
My bag mainly consisted of hair jel, denim jackets and ripped trousers, limited edition converse and phone charger. Not forgetting my diary, i hope Jessie didn't read it, i'd rather keep my past a secret. I checked my phone 1 new message
UNKNOWN NUMBER
I'm watching you
Who the heck was this? I stared at Jessie, she looked happy so i decided not to bother her, she'd already done a lot. The traffic was quite heavy it took us longer to get back to Jessie's house. Finally the Taxi pulled up along the kurb and we got out. Jessie had to help me out though. Jessie and i crashed onto the sofa. It had been an exhausting couple of days. I was slightly anxious to who sent that message? Why? "Danny..." jessie broke my trance
"Yes."
"Do you want to watch a movie?" asked Jessie
"Why not! You can pick." i suggested. Jessie put the dvd into the dvd player i draped the blanket over us and Jessie snuggled up to me. We were watching Cowboys VS Aliens.
I felt warm breath on my neck, i stared down. Jessie's head was on my chest and she had fallen asleep. I muted the tv and picked her up. Despite the pain in my leg i carried Jessie to her bed and tucked her into bed. I left a small kiss on her forehead and limped over to the sofa. I took my trousers and top off and snuggled down onto the sofa. The last thought of the night being that of Jessie...
