The Party that Changed it All
"Pass me the bottle, Josh." Ashley said. " I can't believe I came to this fucking party," she took a big gulp out of the Grey Goose bottle, not even being phased by the following burn in her throat, "Why the hell did you have to drag me here? I don't know anyone and every other guy keeps trying to get me to fuck them."
"Well that's the sort of shit you are gonna have put up with till you get the nerve to come out to your parents, till then take their efforts as compliments." Josh said, pulling the vodka bottle out of Ashley's hands, "And slow down a little on the alcohol you're supposed to be sober when I take you home later, and if you keep going at this rate you will be drunk till October," he said in a joking tone, "fucking lightweight," he added under his breath.
"Hey! I heard that! and I am not a lightweight!" she said, raising her voice and beginning to slur her words.
"Ashley, Look at me, It's only 10:45 and you are drunk. Slow down so you don't do something stupid. I get that you want to 'fucking forget your feelings' and shit but you Do Not need to embarrass yourself."
"Fine," she said and stood up, "I'm gonna find a bathroom, I'll be right back"
As Ashley wove between groups of people she began to realize two things, one, that she really was drunk, and two, that there was a girl across the room smiling at her. On her way back to Josh a guy in a black leather jacket offered her a half full bottle that smelled like Red Hot candies. Grabbing it from him she read the label, "Fireball? Cinnamon Whiskey? Um no thanks I'm not a whiskey drinker."
"Just try it," he said, refusing to grab the bottle back from her.
"Fine," she said and took a small sip, "That's actually not bad," she said before drinking about half of what was left of the bottle.
"Daymmn girl. You must have a high tolerance," he said as he grabbed the bottle and walked off.
Ashley slowly walked back to Josh, trying to keep her balance. When she finally reached where he had been sitting she noticed he wasn't there anymore. Remembering the girl who had been smiling at her, she turned around and walked back in that direction. When she got in eyesight of the mystery girl she began walking towards her. They reached each other and were standing next to the living room coffee table.
"Hey, You're hella cute," Ashley said trying not to slur her words. "Are you...?" she said not wanting to say the 'L' word.
"Lesbian? Yeah I am. And thanks your hella cute too. But are you.." she said before being cut off. Ashley had leaned in and done something she had done very few times before, she kissed the mystery girl, who in return smiled and pulled Ashley into her arms. They mystery girl kissed her again, and they kept kissing.
As they stood there, in the middle of the room, making out, Josh walked into the room. "Fuck, I was afraid something like this would happen." he said and began to hurry to them, but he wasn't fast enough. While fighting his way through the crowd that had formed around the girls, Ashley and the mystery girl broke the kiss and were staring into each others eyes.
"You're a really good kisser," said the mystery girl, "My name is Rebekah, by the way, but my friends just call me Bekah."
"I'm Ashley. Will you excuse me for a moment Bekah?" Ashley pulled away from her and stepped onto the table. "I'm a Fucking Lesbian Bitches!!!!" Ashley yelled towards the crowed.
"We're leaving. Now!" Josh said pulling her off the table and turning to Bekah, "come with us too." He dragged Ashley out of the house with Bekah following shyly behind. "What the fuck was that Ashley?! Do you even realize what you just did?? There goes your hopes of not telling your parents yet. You do realize some of the kids go to your school right? And you," he said turning to Bekah, "since when do you make out with girls you don't even know?"
"I don't know, it just felt right I guess," Bekah said shyly. "Besides, she's not a complete stranger, I've seen pictures of you guys together."
"I know. I just. Frankly I'm shocked, I would have never pictured you two together, although i guess it does make sense.Shit! what time is it?" asked Josh in a slight panic.
"11:30," Bekah said, "Why?" Pulling out his phone, Josh walked away. Turning to Ashley, Bekah smiled. "Sooooo..."
"Soooooo...?" Ashley said in response.
"Umm, so I was wondering. Can I have your number?" Bekah asked, her cheeks flushed as she held her phone out to Ashley.
She giggled like a little girl. "Of course," she said, grabbing the phone from her. After saving her number she handed the phone back to Bekah and let their hands linger on each others. Ashley took a step towards Bekah and gently kissed her cheek, "I hope you use it soon."
"Trust me, I will," Bekah said and then pulled her in for a kiss.
"As much I enjoy watching my two lesbian best friends make out, we gotta go Ashley. Your lucky that I managed to talk your parents into letting you stay the night at my house, but we still gotta make my curfew. I'm sorry Bekah but we gotta go." Josh said as he waled back up to them.
"It's okay," Bekah said and kissed the corner of Ashley's mouth, "I really hope I get to see you again soon." she added before heading back to the house.
"Aye. Earth to Ashley," Josh said, snapping Ashley out of her daze, "In the car, now. We gotta go." he said and they both got into his car. As they drove away from the party Ashley got a text from a number she didn't recognize. Opening her phone, and smiling uncontrollably, she read the message
Hey(: It's Bekah. I'm really glad you decided to just kiss me, I wanted to just kiss you, but I was so nervous.
Ashley looked over at Josh, "Thank you for dragging me to this party." she said as they pulled into his driveway.
"I'm glad you fun, but I need you to give me your phone, now. I have a feeling you are going to regret enough things tomorrow and I don't want you adding any drunk texts to the mix." Ashley reluctantly handed him her phone as they walked inside. Josh got her clothes to wear to bed and left the room so she could change. While waiting for her, he sent Bekah a message from her phone.
Hey, this is Josh. I took Ashley's phone for the night. I will have her message you in the morning.
"You can come in Josh." Ashley said through the door.
"Take the bed, I'll sleep on the floor," he said as he grabbed himself one of the extra pillows off the bed and a blanket. "Try to get some sleep okay," he said as she climbed into the bed.
"Thanks Josh," she said as he laid on the floor, "Goodnight."
"Night," he responded, but she was already out cold.
