knock knock!
Both Taehyun and Beomgyu turned around and looked over at the door that slid open, showcasing none other than Yeonjun who came inside with a bag full of sweets.
"Yeonjun hyung!" Beomgyu smiled, getting up from his chair and walked over to the elder to gave him a fond smile. "What are you doing here?"
"Well Soobin and Huening Kai went off on a field trip to the Aurora Garden Center," Yeonjun said, walking over to the table and placing down the bag full of cookies. "So I came by to steal my best friend back, I brought some cookies as a bribe."
Taehyun glanced over at the bag of cookies and then back at Beomgyu, as much as he didn't want the male to leave, he knew he had no choice but to give him up... and he also wanted some of those cookies.
"I guess," Taehyun sighed. "Just bring him back before the end of lunch time, I need him for something."
"I'll bring him back when I feel like it," Yeonjun hooked his arm around Beomgyu's, immediately dragging him away from the male. "Bye!"
Beomgyu looked back over at Taehyun who just watched him be dragged out, their eyes lingering on each other for a few more seconds until Yeonjun had slammed the door shut, causing him to snap back into reality.
"Hyung, what was that for?"
"Don't get all grumpy with me 'cause I ruined your lame ass date," Yeonjun snickered, letting go of the male as they walked down the hallway. "I can't spend time with my best friend?"
"I thought you'd be busy with Soobin..." Beomgyu scratched his head awkwardly, hearing a loud snort from Yeonjun.
"Just because I'm dating Soobin doesn't mean I can't spend time with my best friend," Yeonjun slapped the back of his head lightly. "Nothing will change now that I'm in a relationship, I'll still make time for you, always."
Beomgyu appreciated that honestly, even though Yeonjun seemed all tough and irritated easily, he always knew that the male cared deeply for his friends and would give up anything to make sure they'll be protected. It made him happy that he didn't turn into one of those rude people who ignore and leave all of their friends when they enter a relationship, it was quite tiring when Beomgyu would see people do that.
"Let's go outside, it's suffocating being in here." Yeonjun twirled Beomgyu around right away when he saw Seong-jin and his minions spotting them from a mile away. "Wanna go to the courtyard where the benches are?"
"Huh...?" Beomgyu tilted his head, startled from the sudden action, looking back over his shoulder he saw Seong-jin and his friends staring at him with frowns on their faces, did they want to talk to him? "I-I mean I'm okay with that but—"
"You're okay with it? Let's go."
The ravenette didn't have any time to protest against that idea, just as he was about to speak he was quickly dragged away by Yeonjun, the male swiftly leading him down the hallway towards the way where the courtyard was.
After a very very long time of walking, the two of them finally made it to the courtyard with very few students around, which was good since it seemed like Yeonjun really wanted to talk about something.
"What's with the rush, hyung?" Beomgyu asked him right away the minute they both sat down, even though the elder wanted to hang out he could tell he wanted to talk about something. "Anything bothering you?"
Yeonjun sighed softly, he was caught red handed. "A lot has been bothering me."
"Why?" Beomgyu perked up, suddenly feeling protective of his best friend, he just hoped it wasn't something that he kept silent about. "Who was it or... who did it?"
"It's just these stupid girls who obsess over Soobin," Yeonjun sighed loudly, leaning his head onto Beomgyu's shoulder, something that he did to comfort himself. "I keep hearing... things... rumors. Rumors that Soobin only went out with me because you rejected him, that I'm a downgrade compared to you."
Even now he's still being talked about...? Beomgyu's eyes widened hearing that, feeling so much guilt and sadness come over him. It had barely been two weeks since the two have gone out and people still hate Yeonjun? He did nothing.
"Hyung," Beomgyu lifted the males head up, allowing him to stare at him with saddened eyes. "You remember what Soobin said right? No matter what people say he still chose you because he loves you for who you are."
"I know," Yeonjun spoke softly, sitting up properly. "It just... hurts. Despite him telling me that, it's hard to think otherwise on something you've heard for a while now."
Beomgyu immediately grabbed Yeonjun's hand and forced him to look at him, with an angry frown he shook his head. "You shouldn't believe them either way! Hyung, he loves you! Who cares if he got rejected? Everyone gets rejected at some point, but if he moved on and he's happier than ever then you should be happy! The past is in the past, this is your present, make everything count and don't keep dwelling on people who... who are just... assholes!"
Yeonjun blinked a couple of times after hearing all that, processing that whole speech in his mind a small smirk grew on his lips as he nodded. "I understand, thanks Beomgyu."
Beomgyu breathed out loudly, nodding his head as he felt proud of making the elder feel better, he hated it. Hated seeing his best friends so upset all of the time, it just made him want to go up to the people speaking bad about them and grab them by the hair then slap—
"I see Taehyun has been rubbing off on you."
Before Beomgyu could finish that violent thought, he tilted his head in confusion at what Yeonjun had just said. "What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean," Yeonjun started off, lifting his legs so he was sitting cross crossed on the bench. "You're more outgoing, slacking off too. You're not studying your ass off all of the time, you're finally making your own decisions and choosing what you want to do, you also seem more reckless. By the way, have you noticed you've been swearing much more? I swear I haven't heard you swear once since I met you."
Beomgyu took all of that in, now replaying every single memory of him and his actions throughout the week — maybe the entire month. He never realized how much he changed his perspective on things, at first he had always thought that being perfect was his main goal in life but now he just doesn't view it that way anymore.
"I'm glad he makes you happy."
"He really really makes me happy." Beomgyu said without thinking.
Yeonjun snorted slightly, finding the males reaction a bit funny, it had been a while since he had seen Beomgyu so in love with someone. He had always thought it'd be Soobin who would steal his heart but instead... unexpectedly, it was Taehyun who did.
He still found it strange that the two just randomly had a crush on each other after a few days of club visits, how they never talked to each other before the whole lunch with Seong-jin thing.
"Beomgyu..." Yeonjun spoke up softly, wanting to just know what was going on inside the males brain. "What do you like about Taehyun? Don't just say his personality."
"All of a sudden...?" Beomgyu mumbled under his breath, finding himself under pressure with that question, he hadn't expected that at all. "Uhm I..."
Beomgyu hesitated, which made Yeonjun furrow his eyebrows in confusion with why the male was so hesitant on saying his answer. "Do you not like anything about him?"
"No!" Beomgyu said a little bit too quickly which made his odd behavior even more suspicious. "I just had to think! You know? Cause there's so many great things about him!"
"Uh huh..."
Be honest just... just blank out and start talking.
"I like his personality."
"I just told you not to say that—"
"He cares." Beomgyu spoke up, cutting Yeonjun off. "Taehyun... he's someone who's hard to approach, to understand. I had trouble even getting close to him at first, he was... cold to me."
Yeonjun opened up to speak again, but he realized that Beomgyu had more to say than that, so he kept silent.
"He's... someone who..." Beomgyu tried to find the right words to say. "He brings out a side of you that you don't realize you have, he did that with me. I felt so stuck, secluded, alone being perfect. He was really annoying but he made me realize that being imperfect is okay."
"He's someone who cares so much about those around him, even if he doesn't showcase it... he cares for them on such a deep level it's like the moment he opens up to you... you can't find a way out. An endless wave of comfort, that's how I feel around him."
"He's attentive, he makes notes of the small things that even most people don't realize," Beomgyu's tone began to go softer as a warm smile crept onto his lips. "I find myself wanting to be in his hold because he gives me the comfort that nobody — no offense — has given me before."
"None taken."
Beomgyu sighed softly, his thoughts about Taehyun expanding more as he talked about him.
"When I feel anxious, scared, or even upset... I always find myself around him in his arms or in his hold, my body relaxes in such a way it makes me feel so fuzzy,"
All of the memories came back to him, those times where Taehyun would hold him tightly in his arms, that moment when they shared their first hug after the fight with that one kid who he cant remember, he felt so warm in his arms.
"He encourages me to do the things that I don't even dare to think about, he's with me and by my side despite what choice I choose. But when I need someone... he's there... when I... feel so alone he's there."
"When I'm around him..." Beomgyu chuckled softly. "I feel the happiest, like all of my bad thoughts and nerves fade away just being next to him. When I around him, I find myself staring at him for minutes... minutes that feel like hours on my part. He has this softness, this... warmth in his gaze when he looks at me. It's so addicting that I just... I want him to stare at me all day."
"Whenever I'm around him I get butterflies in my stomach, but they're so intense like I'm about to puke up every single word that's in my mind..."
Beomgyu paused, his eyes slowly widening when he started to realize something the more he talked about his feelings for Taehyun.
His heart was aching in such a pain it was overwhelming, his stomach was twisting so much as his limbs felt so tingly. His mind just swirling with the image of Taehyun, his memories with Taehyun.
Taehyun. Taehyun. Taehyun.
"I find myself wanting to make him smile to see those beautiful dimples on his face," Beomgyu said as his hands began to tremble. "I find myself thinking about him all of the time, falling asleep to the sound of his gentle voice."
"When he touches me, I feel so alive. I feel a million sparks, like fireworks go off in my senses, all of my thoughts shifting towards him. I want to see him smile, it's like his happiness is my own. Everything that he aims for, I admire so so much that it makes me feel so overwhelmed."
"He saved me from a miserable life."
The more he talked, the more realization came into his head.
"Nothing matters more to me than making him happy, like he's made me happy."
All of those fluffy fuzzy feelings he felt around the male.
The weird sensations, the odd thoughts, the irresistible desires.
It was like he was falling down a waterfall, a waterfall full of unknown emotions that kept hitting at him for weeks. That aching feeling he felt in his stomach everytime he was away from him.
That overwhelming wave of euphoria and adrenaline that washed through him when Taehyun would hold his hand, hug him, comfort him. Those moments where he found himself just loving and embracing the moments they shared alone together, the times where he felt heard and understood for the weaknesses he once couldn't stand.
He finally realized what caused all of them.
"Because of that..." Beomgyu slowly looked at Yeonjun as realization hit him like a meteorite.
"I found myself falling for Kang Taehyun."
Once he said that, it was like all of those suppressed feelings broke free, a shit load of realization and happiness crashing down on him as his face began to flush a dark shade of red.
He finally knows why he felt so happy around Taehyun, why he didn't want what they had to end so early. He finally knew why his feelings for Soobin were fading away. It was because his feelings for Taehyun were blossoming like a newly bloomed flower.
"I like Taehyun," Beomgyu breathed out as a huge smile overtook his face. "I really really like Taehyun."
Beomgyu was happy, so so happy. Just being around the male made him happy but now that he realized his feelings for the male? It made everything so much more lighter.
"You didn't have to go all lovey dovey on me," Yeonjun spoke up, causing Beomgyu to snap out of his little daze. His eyes widening as he saw the male give him a teasing disgusted look. "But I'm glad you're happy."
Beomgyu smiled widely, an overwhelming amount of pride and joy overtook his senses when he finally figured out his undying mysterious feelings for the male.
He had fallen hard for none other than Taehyun himself.
ʚ♡ɞ
"You're back."
Beomgyu turned around swiftly and looked over at Taehyun who stared at him with a fond smile, closing the door quickly the male walked over to him to see what he had painted in a short time.
He was beyond nervous, every step he took it felt heavier and heavier, with Taehyun's eyes lingering on him he felt like he could puke right there and then.
Now that he realized his feelings for Taehyun, he couldn't help but feel so giddy and nervous around the male, it was starting to make him overthink everything.
"Why do you look like you've just seen a ghost?" Taehyun tilted his head, which made Beomgyu internally explode from how cute he was.
"Uhhh Yeonjun." Sorry hyung, I'm throwing you under the bus.
"Understandable," Taehyun shrugged before grabbing Beomgyu's wrist which totally didn't make the ravenette nearly collapse from the littlest touch. "Come look at what I made."
Trying his best not to just give into the jelly like feeling in his legs, the male walked over to the canvas and gasped seeing the most beautiful painting of a flower that he recognized because of Soobin's habit of ranting about plants.
"Is that a gardenia?" Beomgyu's eyes widened seeing how beautiful the flower looked, but knowing that it was painted by Taehyun? It was even more beautiful. The details in the painting were extraordinary.
"Mhm," Taehyun hummed, obviously proud of his work but more proud of Beomgyu's reaction. "You like it?"
"I love it!" Beomgyu's eyes beamed up with joy, turning to look at Taehyun with a bright smile. His heart racing when he saw how soft that gaze was. "What made you choose it?"
Taehyun kept silent for a few minutes, the male taking the canvas off of the stand before turning back over towards Beomgyu with a light shade of pink dusting over his face.
Extending his hands out, he gave the male the canvas.
"It reminded me of you." Taehyun spoke softly, his eyes staring into Beomgyu's as the males heart began racing. "Beautiful and pure, just like you."
In that moment, time had stopped in Beomgyu's eyes. Only the chilling feeling of his face flushing red and his heart pacing rapidly that it hurt so much. It was like fireworks exploded throughout his body, causing him to just think of the male in front of him only.
With a fond smile, the male gently placed the canvas on the table next to them before pulling Taehyun into a tight hug, his body melting right away in the males warm embrace.
"Thank you." Beomgyu whispered under his breath, feeling the male hug him back right away.
"Anything for you, hyung."
There was no doubt.
He definitely fell for Taehyun, hard.
